F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, generally like new items.

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes, All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken

I'm waiting for a 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and almost in perfect condition. Any game i have personally ever bought has in like new condition. However, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

Again, you act like people have 4 friends on here.
his level of stupid is really up there.

prime is already a waste of money as it is. I don't see the point unless you're eldritch and make a profitable business basically flipping stuff on here to buy stuff you want.

The only way I could see paying 120 for prime is if they tied in internet and netflix along with adding in an actual grocery store section with competitive pricing and had free one day shipping on everything for the site. I would easily shop with them more if they had more things I wanted to buy on a regular basis. But since I don't and even the items I did pay for shipping on this year was still considerably less than it currently costs for prime it's already a useless feature for me.

Prime also includes video streaming.  It's not on par to Netflix's $8 a month but if you actually use it, say it's worth $5/month that's $60 right there if you don't need all the content Netflix has.  Assuming you use netflix or video streaming services.  Also the article never says prime will be $120.  Prices could rise from $20-$40, so $99 is possible.

I personally use Prime a lot, not only for games.  I have an infant and we order nearly everything from amazon, and often times it's one or two small things less than $35.  It helps my wife is in grad school so we get the discounted pricing also as well as amazon Mom if we needed.

Amazon prime is about as good as Netflix now. Netflix rarely updates anymore it seems :/
Neither does prime for awhile now. The poor qc makes me meh cause that needs to get better if i pay more..

If Prime goes up to $99, I will definitely have to think hard about whether or not I keep it. I do love Prime, but I don't know. If it's above $99 I will very likely drop it. They are going to be walking a fine line. Might lose business in this.

Only if it has stuff you are willing to watch. their video service has an incredibly small selection and alot of stuff you still have to pay for. Hulu easily beats netflix for me and I couldn't find anything on amazon that wasn't already available on netflix or somewhere else.

probably increasing prime price because of drones...

really they should lower the price. more people sign up, these increased levels of customers buy more stuff including lots more impulse buys with the free shipping. amazon and customers all benefit.

Yeah I assume you missed the part of the article which discusses that at its current subscription rate Prime costs Amazon somewhere around 1-2 Billion a year. That's a lot of money to write off for a service which is suppose to bring business in. Prime is not simply a digital service, there are real world costs associated with it that prevent a lower price point.

I can totally understand raising the price, but then everyone has to reevaluate whether or not its worth it to them. Anyone who choses to drop prime is probably not going to shop at amazon as much. So there is a cost associated with raising the price as well. There's some sweet spot they can hit. Maybe that price is $99. I really think if they go over $100 they are going to lose a lot of customers.

I take issue with approximations like that - Amazon's a big company, but not so big that you can gloss over the difference between one and two billion dollars.

If they bump it up to $120 with no changes it'll be pretty tough to swallow, There's lot of options for them though - they could make it a $15 / month service with no year commitment or $100 for a prepaid year and I bet they could make it look pretty good. They could also probably go to 3 day instead of 2 day delivery at the same $79 price point and do just fine. Throw in one or two new Prime Instant Video exclusives to help distract and they'll land on their feet without a problem.

Oh I'm sure they know the exact amount, but through some "complex" accounting they can make the numbers come up closer to either end of the spectrum depending on whether they account for certain factors or not. Basically they knew they could appease investors today by announcing a potential rise in Prime rates. That's why the news broke. Amazon is incredibly PR savvy.

and raising the price and losing customers makes money how?shrinking vs growing their customer base?

Exactly, they're no dummies. I'm sure they could also make profit magically appear too if they didn't continue to hyper aggressively build out and reinvest in themselves every year, but they've got a plan. No one will know what it is until we all have barcodes tattooed on the back of our necks as their drones scan them and pick us up and dump us in to the assimilation tanks.
and raising the price and losing customers makes money how?
By keeping more existing prime members at $99-120 than the amount of $79 members they lose.

If they increase by 25-50% in cost but lose less than whatever percentage the math comes out to. Then amazons wins plus they won't be eating rising fuel costs either.

Will they lose some sales. Yeah probably, but I think the amount of prime shoppers compared regular amazon shoppers is small. People will buy on amazon regardless if they are prime members.
We have a full blown restock on our hands.
Looks like I will miss out. Not that I was looking for any specific titles. It is the lunar new year today. Chuc mung nam moi to any fellow Vietnamese Cags. It is tradition to not spend money on the new year day. Maybe to teach discipline and set myself up for good fortune through the year.

Are the extras for Journey CE vouchers? So most likely redeemed?

Also if anyone is interested in my PS Vita WiFi, it has no visible scratches (more or less mint condition) and comes with a pouch, screen and back protectors (already applied them and did a very good job :), charger and game case holder (unfortunately no memory card because I would like to keep that for my next version). Let me know! I'm going to buy a PS Vita 3G so I can play online on the go.

3G is way to slow to do anything productive :/

why not just buy a air card instead or just hotspot your phone? you'll have a faster internet connection and likely will be a cheaper plan than the att 3g plan that's stuck with the vita.

I'd say that less than 1% of the Vita's library takes advantage of the 3G; and, much like the Vita's memory cards, the 3G plans are grossly expensive. I bought the 3G version at launch, took advantage of the "2 months for the price of 1" promo, used the 3G a handful of time to check PSN messages and Friends List, then cancelled the service and never looked back.

Now that the Official PlayStation app (iOS and Adroid) gives you full PSN access, the only real "benefits" to having a 3G plan on the Vita have gone out the window. Unless asynchronous multiplayer in Hot Shots Golf and Pure Chess are worth $15 or $30 a month for you.
