They said Smash Mario and SMB Mario read in the exact same. Same character, same in-game result.

They do work across games. That was mentioned during the Direct. He said you could use your smash amiibos with that game. ( you will need to replace the leveling of that amiibo, when you use them in the new game.)

They do work across games. They only store data for one game at a time, though. You can use your Smash Mario on Mario Party 10, but you have to erase the Smash data first.

They don't look as nice as the SSB line but the fact is, each Amiibo can only hold enough data for one game. So you could use your Smash Mario Amiibo for Mario Party but then any Smash related data on him will have to be erased.

Which kinda defeats the purpose of having them work across all games if other games data will have to erase the previous game. What do I care tho, I probably wont even use mine to actually level up in games haha. I just dont like the fact that they are the same characters for a new wave...seems pointless. Plus the red base just clashes with the set of smash figures with black bases lol.

Just be happy that the rare ones don't do anything outside of Smash.

Welp, time to cull my Wave 3 preorders then.  I'll be double-preordering Robin, Lucina, Ness, and Toad.  Wario and Charizard will be maybes as I see them available.  Suppose I can decide which Bowser I like best, though they seem pretty similar.  I'd probably take the SMB Luigi over Smash but not worth buying again unless I can sell the old one.

I thought it was well known they would make various lines of amiibo. Its the best business decision they could make.

 
so i'm seeing on the new amiibo compatability chart that you can only save data from one game per amiibo, which we all knew already.  but, will I be able to use the amiibos to unlock the content in mario party and keep smash data on there?

Yes, that doesn't save anything to the Amiibo but just reads it.

Depends on how they implement it. If the read part and write part are separate (as it is in Smash) then I would imagine so.

Troll is Troll is....Troll? Think about it. The second buyers discover there is a potential reprint on that Marth, it's going to affect the secondhand market. It wouldn't surprise me if U.S. Marth's begin trending downward as early as tonight in anticipation of a reprint. 30% was an estimate...it could be less or more depending on how much info is released. Bottom line, it's a bearish investment at this point to spend over $100 on a Marth. I feel bad for you if all you wanted to do was sell it, but if that's the case, you now have an important decision to make.

 
GS is still taking in-store preorders with ship-to-home for the MM bundle. Just called a local one by me and they can still add it in their system.

I am in the middle of working 14 nights in a row. I have some spending to do. I'm just not sure about a MM N3DSXL. I would prefer a generic Zelda one if I were to buy one.

I'm excited for a reprint for people that are willing to wait.
