Just got back from Gamestop and can confirm that they are taking preorders on both le new 3ds xls but for ship to home (free shipping at least). Preordered the MM 3DS XL and codename steam for the mm pin while I was there.

With the Mario party amiibos being announced I think I'm done. I don't care to rebuy people I already have. I also don't think the majority of these will be worth much down the road. Now what do I do with my complete boxed wave 1 and 2?

I think having a complete Smash set is what I'm going after.

 
So are any stores taking preorders for robin and Lucina yet? I tried telling myself the 4 Amiibo I already have are enough, but I'm a sucker for anything fire emblem.
 
I pre-ordered Rosalina from Amazon.fr a few weeks ago, just in case I can't grab one in store on release day. I just received an email saying that she'll be shipped earlier than expected. New expected ship date is 1/28-1/30 instead of 2/3-/25.

 
Damn, I totally called the Mario series. I'm off about them not re-releasing amiibos, but I think this Marth thing is a one-off since the Smash series is still ongoing and Code Name STEAM won't have its own series.

I would not be surprised if that particular Mario amiibo came out in time for Mario Party 10 along with new versions of other Mario characters.

When the new Star Fox hits expect a similar new series of amiibos with all new poses and bases. I'd imagine each character's amiibo would function identically, so there would be no need to own both outside of collecting purposes.

Do not expect Nintendo to re-release Smash amiibos when a non-Smash game comes out. I can't stress that enough.

Why are people acting so disappointed about new series of amiibo being announced? This was announced in the very beginning. I thought we were all aware of this? That's why its a little ridiculous that some of you were trying to collect them all it was a huge task. Buy the ones you like and be done with it. It'd be like trying to collect all of the Skylanders. It's possible just not worth your time or effort.

I feel ya on that. Was thinking the same thing. But haven't 100% said "no" yet (I think). Don't have any major advise for you regarding your Wave1 & 2, the only thing I could think of would be to sell your Villager to a friendly CAG on here who has been hunting for a fair price for one (me) I don't really have anyone in mind (me) but maybe through some sort of subliminal messaging (me) you could find such a person (me) :) Best of luck with whatever you decide!

Yeah I think theres a difference when these are already coming out in March and the other have only been out a month or two (and Bowser isnt even out yet). So with all this shit about no shelf space, does that mean the SSB version of these 5 characters will be replaced with the Super Mario / Mario Party versions?

You didnt get one from GS? I was on that thing before anyone even posted it lol. As soon as the direct was over I had amazon, GS, BB all pulled up with majoras mask searched and was spamming f5 on all of them haha.

I hesitated because I didn't want to pay up front with my CC and was hoping for normal in store pre-orders.

Yep, ill be ordering from BB for free shipping if I catch it but I wasnt about to let $8 shipping keep me from snagging that thing lol. They do free value shipping with the web in store orders but you have to pay the $200 up front.

Could you trade in a 3ds because on the website you get the $100 for preordering. You would need to get an override though.

No idea how that works, I have too much eshop stuff to transfer over so I could never do a console trade in. I also have the Zelda OoT 3DS which I wouldnt be trading in anyways. Wasnt as much of a fan for the Zelda XL but I am all over this MM N3DS XL. Plus I already have a Australian/European White N3DS with faceplates so the MM 3DS XL was perfect.

I thought you have to do system transfers? I have all the ambassador GBA games and a ton of other stuff which are no longer on the eshop. You might be right but I thought you had to do the system transfer in order to get all of you purchases on a new console.

I also have an ambassador 3DS. I bought the Link Between Worlds edition 3DS a while back and had to system transfer everything. Annoying whenever I want to upgrade. Still debating the MM 3DS.. doubt it's going to be worth it.

 
I'm glad I didn't spring for some of these yet as those alternate ones for the new wave look way better than the current. And is Lucina going to be a retailer exclusive or is she going to be everywhere? She's really the only one I want besides maybe Charizard.

 
Does anyone know if GS will allow for "stacking up" on the system trade-ins? I have two of the older model 3DS that they say they will pay $75 for, mine and my daughter's that she doesn't really use anymore since getting an Ipad. $150 trade in towards the $200 new XL model would be nice. 

 
I should just send Nintendo my Tax forms and have them send me back Amiibos, e shop cards, and MM 3ds xl..............My wife is gonna kill me, time to start fundraising, anyone wants lemonade!!!! 

 
I know that everyone is hyped about the new wave of Amiibos, but I saw this question come up numerous times in this thread, so I'll answer it. Foreign Amiibos do not look any different from American ones. I just got my Japanese WFT today and the bottom is identical to ones bought here in the US.

I am finished after the SSB4 Amiibo run. It is just way too much. Next will probably be a Pokemon Amiibo run. That will be freaking crazy because Pokemon is huge. I

 
Just watched the Nintendo Direct for Europe. They have a release date of April 24th for Wave 4 (not sure the US had a release date?) and the same date of March 20th for the Super Mario / Mario Party wave.

Thanks for this, US direct only said Spring for wave 4, so that gives us more of a timeframe. At least there's a 2 month break between waves for SSB, not really interested in the Super Mario amiibos except Toad, which I have a feeling will be harder to obtain.

Unless there is a Duckhunt Amiibo, after wave 4 I can see myself done or not collecting them all ....but with them bringing back Wii games on Virtual console (better not be for the Wii shop), and Other Wii U & 3ds games coming, hell I'll be selling Lemonade, items on ebay and completing my backlog for months
