I figured that by the time I got home from work this would have already been posted with the list, but it looks like I should have brought the list home with me. Best Buy is putting a ton of slower-moving games on clearance starting Monday Sept. 12th. Prices ranged from .99-9.99, with most being 4.99, and included games for all systems.

FAQ:

When does the sale being?
The sale begins on MONDAY SEPT 12th when bestbuy opens

Is the sale also online?
no one knows for sure, often bb keeps prices the same, but like i said, this isnt a guarantee. some people are ordering online now and hoping to pricematch later, again, this isnt a guarantee.

Why are people saying they are getting games now, when the sale dosent start until monday?
some people are buying games ahead of time for full price and going back later to get a price adjustment on the games.

BB.com says the games are out of stock in stores around me, is that reliable?
no, its not reliable, it might be right, or it might not, this is from first hand experiance i had today (going to BB then checking avaliability of games i knew where on the shelves when i got home..)

Should i call and ask about the sale?
no, very rarely is calling and asking about a big unadvertised sale a good idea. it can tip off employees that the sale is even going on, also some empolyees might know about it and might have been told to deny it, and some might have no clue at all.

Will the $5 off coupon work on these games? (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58353)
that will be YMMV, the coupon says in black and white, excludes clearance items, so if you get shot down dont cry about it.

Well mostly everything I want is unavailable at all stores in my area.

Question: WILL THESE DEALS ALSO BE ONLINE? Maunly cause online has a lot more I want and in stock.

well, my girlfriend was just at the appleglen BB in Fort Wayne. She found me Growlanser, Killswitch, and Harvest Moon. That's all she could find and she's buying them...Good luck to you others out there!
 
ok i just went to the century 3 and mcknight best buys.

i didnt look for everything i just made a list of the games i wanted, and the ones that were 99 cents ^^

there is a copy of zookeeper and a copy of 3rd age (gc) at cent3, there is a copy of mr driller a few eyetoys and 2 copies of y's at mcknight.

heres what i picked up:

xbox catwoman x4

a few questions to whoever formed the list, is rocky actully rocky legends?is thug (gba) actully thug 2?

i got most of the games i wanted but if anyone could pick me up the following games, i would greatly appreciate it:

growlanser generations

(i know those last 2 are longshots, but figured id try..)

oh and if any pittsburgh cags are intrested, ill be selling copies of future tactics, catwoman, and starfighter (should they actully end up being 99 cents) for $2 each (gotta cover gas guys..sorry) you would have to come pick them up at my apt, i live on the southside

I checked all the games I wanted on bestbuy.com earlier today, and I found all the ones I wanted.

I already bought Growlanser: Generation on release for full price, while also getting YSVI a while ago during a Meijer sale, so there's no use for me to take advantage of those deals. I would never trade in stuff I buy really cheap, unless it's something I absolutely hate in every way. I keep what I but.:D
 
Please tell me people aren't playing the reprice game here. I'd like to be able to at least find a copy of "Astro Boy" and "Paper Mario" tomorrow.

Also I just checked and someone put up the list on the IGN Xbox General Board. They found it from the DVD tak forum.

far as i can see thats the best way to get what you want ^^

of course theres not even a gurantee that there is a copy of either game at stores near you anyways ^^

went on best buys website and tried to check the availability of a bunch of games. None of the best buys in my area have ANYTHING i wanted. Is the website reliable?

I hate living in Naperville... there's never anything at stores. So anyway, does anyone know if their Best Buy has Growlanser Generations, Y's: The Ark of Napishtim, or Final Fantasy Origins? I checked the BB site and I would apparently have no luck at my stores. So, if anyone's feeling generous and wouldn't mind hooking me up, PM me.

edit: I also need to find Paper Mario somewhere.

unless they had more in the back NOrthcrest bb only had 1 copy of Radiata stories in stock

So this all happens tomorrow? (Monday) Well i just called one of the best buys near me and i asked about the sale and she had no clue what i was talking about and said i must have the wrong store and such, so i guess after my class tomorrow i'll be stopping into best buy and with high hopes see if this sale is for real.

I do see the game "in stock", at both stores currently. If they aren't there tomarrow, I'll just have the ad taken to somewhere else, like Meijer (if they get the game in on Tuesday).

Not true. My Eyetoy works great. Sometimes it's a bit off, but for the most part it works wonderuflly and is a great party item.
 
Bah.. I just called our closest Best Buy and asked if they knew anything about the sale, and they didn't. But then again, I've had problems with this Best Buy's employees not knowing about stuff in the past. Is this sale for sure taking place in every Best Buy? I don't want to drive a half hour on the highway for nothing, especially since my car might not even make it that far.. :(

So basically my only way of knowing for sure is to actually be there tomorrow? Because I just wish there was some way of knowing for absolutely sure, so I could give someone else my shift tomorrow, have the day off, and get there right away in the morning.

We all know as much as you do, and by calling BB to alert them of some sale, or just of anything, will not help your chances of getting anything. If you really want the games and you feel the risk is worth it, than give your shift to somebody else and get going tomorrow.
 
If you call once the sale starts, you're a hell of a lot more likely to get more info out of it. Why would they tell you that a game is gonna be on sale for $4.99 tomorrow when you can go in today and pay them $19.99 for it?

So if you don't want to waste a drive, call at 10am tomorrow or whenever it is they open on weekdays.

Maybe I'll finally be able to play Paper Mario 2 and Growlanser, too.
Not getting my hopes up, though. I always have the worst luck with finding things at Best Buy. -_-
 
Ahhh....I can't decide whether to go out now and check and see what my store has and buy it and come for a Price adjustment later or just to go after school tomorrow.
