$20 Reward Zone Gamer's Club Unlocked for Dummies

1) You will not get your $20 RZ until around the 30-35 day mark (after purchase). Stop worrying about it until that point.
2) The RZ website is far from accurate. Proof in point, the RZ silver bar. Again, see #1. Patience is a virtue.

What does this mean on a purchase?
- RZGC UNLOCKED PO 10 DISCOUNT - Your 10% discount for Pre Owned Games. This will show up for ANY purchase (gaming or not) as long as you are Gamer's Club Unlocked.
- PS-(system)-(game) i.e. PS-X360-RESIDENT EVIL 6 - This is your preorder being deducted from the purchase of the game.

Preorder DLC Bonus - You need to have an email address associated to your Reward Zone account. This is the email address they will send your DLC code to. It typicially can take a day to obtain this. Potentially up to a week. Note your luck of getting this by the time you get home is a crapshoot. Wait a week and then call customer service if you haven't received.

FOR YOUR POINTS...
If your physical receipt shows like below, you should get your $20RZ preorder bonus.

EXCHANGE

Original Tran (Cust Serv Pin) Date

Return Items
Pre-order SKU PS-(system)-(game) 5.00-

Sale Items
SKU Name of Game for above 59.99

You sure you didn't "ask them in a angry manner if you can at least have some points awarded to your account for the inconvenience" People really need to chill, the game just came out on Tuesday. If you don't have your cert in around 30 days time then that's when you should call.
Seriously Mary cool your jets. Be Fonzie.
I don't understand what's up with everyone with these negative vibes towards me? I mean who are you to say that I should have waited instead of just calling to make sure I would get my points. If best buys CS was all cool and calm about it, why are you guys sweatin it?

Also if I were to abuse the system, it shows in their system how many times I've called on what days and it also says how many certificates they've issued me as it says "customer inconvenience" next to the points that they gave me. Again, every time they have issued me cert., I never asked for them, they just offered it to me

Because you didn't wait like everyone else would have. It's been 2 days. Then you come on here and brag about getting an extra 1000 points for complaining. Of course they were cool and calm, they're CS, it's their job to help you.

So you openly admit to continually calling and complaining about your purchases and getting a bunch of certs? That is abuse, since you know every time you call they are going to give you points for satisfaction. It's only a matter of time before they ban you from these deals. Much deserved too.

Ok man I'm going to go play games, I'm sorry if I offended you

Guess what guys looks like the 1000 points was just a glitch in the system as they are no longer in my pending points, so this whole Convo was just a waste of my/your time
This reminds me of a question I've meant to ask for some time: Is there any reason to not use RZ certificates when preordering any of the titles for this promotion? In particular, I thought it would make PMing easier in the future if you didn't use any since they lowered the cost of the item, not the total (like GCs).

For example, wouldn't it be difficult to PM a $39.99 sale price for Borderlands 2 at BBY if you used $20 in RZ certificates when you initially bought it, since technically you already paid $39.99 for the game?

I've got ~$40 in RZ certificates that I've held off on using on things I expect/hope to drop in price in the future in the event that PMing would be too difficult, but if I'm free to use them, I'd like to know. Thanks in advance. :)

EDIT: *sigh* I just checked my email and apparently the BBY employee yesterday processed my "preorder" correctly, since I received a preorder code for the PC version. :bomb: I guess I have to visit the BBY forums now or try calling again.
I'm not sure if someone else answered. This isn't the exact same thing, but I used a RZ GC ($20) to pre-order Darksiders II via BBY.com. When the price decreased to $50, I called and PM'd the new price without any issues and received the $10 difference to my payment method.
Guess what guys looks like the 1000 points was just a glitch in the system as they are no longer in my pending points, so this whole Convo was just a waste of my/your time
You should just give up. Nobody is going to believe anything you have to say.
$50 in certs yet only has spent $226 this year? And that is only what we can see.
Because I trade in games and Ive been issued two $5 certificates for inconvenience, and that is the only cert. I've gotten from "complaining" in the past two months

BS. You admitted they gave you 1000 points already for Borderlands 2. Stop lying and just go away.
Oh look, 1000 points they gave you for calling and complaining. Shocker.
Nope not from complaining. Again, I called to ask if I was still going to be able to get my points for BL2 since they gave me the PC instead of the PS3. So he just said "I will speak to my supervisor and see if I can get the points issued to your account"

If you go a couple pages back on this thread, you will see I posted about my madden points posting today. Also it says in orange lettering the BL2 that gave me, the red lettering shows me redeeming those points into certificates. Notice the MINUS 1000 next to it?

defending yourself will do no good at this point as everybody who see these last couple of pages of the thread will simply how can I put this...think you're a POS so you might as well save your energy for your next call-in

Traded games count toward your Silver status now.
She's like the bizarro enuf, posting in every thread how to scam BBY and lol to the pm.
lol I love Superman/Seinfeld references. Kudos.

Mary - you are full of shit. Even if you are inferring it wasn't your fault that the CS rep was just doing his job, it was still your fault that you called in the first place. Do you even bother reading the OP? Since you're new, always read the OP. For this deal, it states it takes 30 days.

I can read what you posted quite well. None of that makes up for you lying about how many certs you have gotten from complaining. I'm sure you're on the phone right now complaining again about how much crap you've gotten on here for all this, thinking that BB will give you points for that too.

Yes and it also says that PC versions are not valid, so why would I wait 30 days just to not get my points? I've heard ppl say that they waited 30 days and not receive their points and then call CS just for them to say that they had to wait another 30 days for them to post

It was already documented in this thread that some of the preorder slips were mixed up between PC/PS3. We even raised the issue to the Gaming reps at the BBY forums. So clearly you would have been due your $20 cert so long as you didn't purchase a PC copy (which you didn't). Still doesn't change the fact that you jumped the gun.

Hence, I stand by my previous statement. You just needed to be more patient. That's just annoying.

Yes and I was the very first person on this thread to point out the PC/PS3 was messed up. So I never read what other CAGs posted after

NOOOO!! I ran out of popcorn.

Everyone please give me a little bit so I can make some more, since this is a highly entertaining read so far!
Wait, you're a dude? Please change your name. FFS.
Yep, I'm sorry I couldn't fulfill your dreams by being the first female you ever talked to.

Anyways, what do you have to say now biotchhhh

Hahah aircobra gonna take the kid gloves off now that Mary => dude.

Mary - I'm done with my point and I think you get it. Now you know where we all stand on this.

Yes I'm done with my point as well, so let's just leave it at that

So what is the difference between silenced and banned? Can he watch but not speak? The asshole in me wants the keep talking about him.
3 pages later and we're finally done with this?
Sorry I don't see these "3 pages" you're referring to. Doesn't look like anything to be "done with".

Oh must have been my mistake ;)

I was one that was screwed out of the borderlands preorder DLC and had to call the store to get that fixed, but now I think I'm getting screwed out of the $20 credit. The only points I see pending are a trivial amount, but what I think is my purchase/pickup of the game is listed, but for $0. Am I screwed?

I tried the report missing points thing on the web page, but that seems to be for getting credit for the purchase price points. I have to enter a total price and it needs to match. :(

EDit: Finally got through to the store and the woman I talked to said it won't show up at all for 30 days. Is that true? I thought it would show as pending? Either way, this is definitely my last Best Buy purchase. What a pain this has been. And ludicrously slow. 30 days??? I'd rather have had the pain-free and quick $10 credit at amazon. Oh well, lesson learned I guess.

I did the "Phone Freedom" sign up during Jan/Feb promo, which is $50 GC when get a phone in 2012. I should be able to get that, and $50 trade-in GC since they are separate promo's. Those will cover Dishonored and AC3. Thanks for the links.

If you didn't want to wait 30 days, why did you pre-order at Best Buy? It clearly states in the offer terms that you get a reward cert which always take 30 days. Even if you didn't know that, when you read the terms of the offer it states:

" Eligible Gamers Club Unlocked members will receive 1,000 Reward Zone points (worth $20 reward certificate) per qualified purchase. Limit one award per member per title. Points will post to your account approximately 30 days from time of pickup or shipment."

As far as the points go, NCAA showed them as pending right away while Madden took a week or so for them to show up. I'd be patient at this point and wait. If in a couple weeks they still don't show as pending than call CS or post on the BB forums.

It's not just the 30 days, though. I had to call the store and spend 30 minutes on the phone just to get the preorder bonus DLC, and now I get to wait 30 days to find out if I'll be lucky enough to get the $20 credit. If not, I'm not feeling terribly confident that I'll ever see it, since the claim missing reward zone points does not seem to be useful for preorder credit deals at all. The way they did my preorder appears to be that they returned my $5 deposit, and then sold me the game, which seems like it will not count as a preorder. So it's the whole of the experience. Had I known it would be this much of a disaster there's no way I'd have gone with them. At least I know not to go with them in the future. Maybe it's worth it to you, but not to me.
