Best Buy YMMV Thread

Can we have a thread where we share deals we find at our local Best Buys? Of course they're always YMMV but it would give us ideas of what to look out for.

I have two local best buys and each of them had different deals:

Best Buy #1:

  • Dragon Quest Builders 2 (NSW): $15.99
Best Buy #2:

  • Disgaea 4 (NSW): $15.99
  • Dead Cells (NSW): $10.99
  • Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology (3DS): $12.99 (didn't get this, very sad)
  • Some other 3DS title I was extremely sad I missed out on (3DS): $10.99
There were some others but these were the ones that stood out the most that I can remember.

Also for anyone who doesn't know, if your Best Buy has a price placard out for a game but they're sold out, you can ask an employee to order it for you from their website and they will match their in-store price! Of course they have to have stock on the website though.

I didn’t get one, but I just didn’t renew my membership on 6/30 so maybe the system is mad at me.

i did have one last order with the b2g1 open. It was for my ‘free‘ copy of Trails through Daybreak. That got delivered after I canceled (on 7/5) and there was no charge on my credit card.

Nothing for me. Probably for the best, since the last time I got one, they canceled the order I used it on and I spent two weeks on chats trying to get it back. Love Best Buy...
 
Two live agents have been unable to help me. One said wait two more days, the other says I'm ineligible because I don't have a Best Buy credit card. I just tried calling, I guess you can't call on Sundays. I'll try one more time tomorrow, then I guess I'll just return everything and cancel my membership.

The agent stated the same thing to me. Even though the terms and conditions doesn't state you need to be a best buy credit card holder.
 
My agent asked if I was a BB CC holder. I said no. She was able to proceed. Here's the fine print, if you need to argue.

Nine years with a Best Buy Credit Card and they've never sent me a single free cert. Of course I barely use it, but still.

Edit - clearly I don't check my account enough as one was actually there and it makes me wonder if I've missed some in the past.

I saw your post and figured what the hell and you were completely spot on - I didn't get any email from them but I do actually show a $10 cert in my account that expires early next month.

Edit: Went ahead and ordered Unicorn Overlord, I figure $25 for that was a pretty good deal considering how recently it released. I guess I should thank this thread for getting a good deal but it's not like I really needed to buy another game right now :ROFLMAO:

I didn't see anything logging into my account, but I found the email in my deleted folder from 07/15/2024. Expires 8/03.

I did notice they resent the reward in an email I got yesterday 07/18/2024 titled "This MacBook is calling your name..." but it takes me to same reward.

I logged into my rewards when I saw the email and had no certificate. When I clicked the link in the email it activated the certificate on my account. There was a brief "please wait" and then it showed up in my account. So the email isn't just a notification it also include the link to activate the reward on your account.

I got the email as well. What numbnuts. They promised the email weeks ago so some of us reached out and got the $50 already. Now they're finally around to processing so a few of us are get $100. Not complaining!
