So I happened to find a list of their games that they are giving some good money on, I guess to compete with Gamestop. Here is a copy of the list. I dont know if you have to trade in more than 1 game to get the deal, but thought others would be able to chime in with their experience. Of note is the hot shots golf trade in for PS3 (if you were able to get it from the sears clearance).

Added by Io: Note that you can also trade games in using this site:
http://ebay.eztradein.com/ebay/
which is handled by the same processor (Dealtree) used for the Best Buy program. In this case, though, you can get PayPal payments instead of Best Buy gift cards. The trade-in values and processing methods seem to be exactly the same.

-----
I tried looking for the $20 and $30 trade in value games but came up empty, if you want to provide the link so I can add it here, let me know via PM.

UPDATED: since it keeps getting asked

1. Can I take them to a physical store?
Games need to be mailed in. If you try to do an instore trade from the website it will redirect you to mailing it in.

2. How many days do I have to mail it in?
30 days from initiating the trade. Mail it in ASAP as the processing time until you get your money differs and could be a wait.

3. Are trade in quotes locked in or do they get valued at time of processing?
Get your games in fast enough and you will not have to worry about this. But the majority believe that you are locked in as long as it gets there before the 30 days are up.

4. Do games have to be complete?
Case, Manual, and working game are your only options. So yes, full credit if you have everything. But we are not too sure on how they determine scratches affecting playability (if they physically test the game during processing). Just clean all smudges and fingerprints prior to mailing, and if you have deep scratches it is up to you to chance them saying the game does not work.

5. What happens if they say the game is worth less than trade in quote?
You can either accept their valuation or PAY to have your game shipped back to you.
what kind of shipping label did everyone get? i got a usps parcel post label but the how it works section says drop it off at a ups location to get a receipt.
I received the same usps label. I was going to take it to ups in the morning as the website instructed. If ups doesn't take it then I'll contact BB/dealtree.com folks.

I sent my 5 games this morning using USPS. Didnt have to pay a thing other than for the bubble envelope. Printed out the Parcel Post thing too. The guy behind the counter was asking me where I got it and I just told him that I was trading my games in and it never asked me to pay for the shipping. He then weighed it and saw it was under 2 lbs. So maybe that was why. I dont know.

Just waiting for my $130 in gift cards. which will probably be sometime in early May ;)

I had a leftover box from one of my recent shipments, put them all in there with some packing material and took it to a postal business, not a UPS store. I don't know why that would be an issue, but I sent mine on Saturday and haven't heard anything.

I just mailed mine out today. I handed the box to the guy taking the last pickup of mail for the day from the mall post office after they told me I didn't need to have it scanned to ship it out.

Lucky for me, since the way the line was progressing(it was almost out the door), I would've just been getting home now.

Also, I don't see WHY they would say to take something with a pre-paid USPS label to UPS to ship it out.

Does anyone have plans on how they're going to use their giftcards? I'm thinking about picking up an HD LCD monitor for my laptop in the 20"-23" range or maybe some new music production software.

Bluray player for the basement. Can't really think of anything else.

What's the turn around time on video game trade-ins?
Sent out L4D2 t'day after Gazelle & Amazon now have it listed for $19 whereas BB has it for $30.

The most affordable HD LCD monitor I've seen is the Acer one I still have for using with my PS3. It has internal speakers on it(1w each)and three different ports(VGA, DVI w/HDCP and HDMI) and it comes with all three cables for those ports right out of the box, plus an audio out cord too.

It's on clearance at Target right now, but it's normally $159.99 there($170 or so elsewhere).

You can buy AC2 from gamestop.com with 10auto and 25OFF for $20. then trade that new copy to bestbuy for $30. rock on. also got gta 4 eps for $27 new n saboteur for $11. peace

good deal....btw anyone who trades in the DE of Demon's souls for 30 bucks is brain dead. the game is the same (Same cover/same manual/same game) andyou could sell the extras for probably 30+ dollars easy

Thanks for the info. I was looking at the Acer 23" HD LCD. I'm pleasantly surprised to hear that it comes with all three cables.

If I can't get the monitor or software, then I'll just usethe credit on new releases...well make that two-week old new releases, since the price typically drops down to $39.99-$44.99 within the first two weeks.

I dont trust this at all. I was going to go nuts and get a bunch of games from goozex--enough to pay for the majority of a ps3--but there's something about the trade-in values that screams "scam."

I'm viewing the forums right now on an Acer H235H 23" 1080p monitor; it's lovely. Got mine for $170 I think @ Newegg. Controls are touch-based, which threw me at first.

I guess if a company that partners with Best Buy AND Dell isn't trustworthy, we'll let you know once we never get credit.

I printed out the label for the following that I paid roughly $15.10 for total(after using $1.41 credit I had at BBV and two cases that I paid $.10/each for from HWV) :
:360: Beatles Rock Band (from BBV B1G1)
:ps3: GH: Smash Hits (from BBV B1G1)
:ps3: Beatles Rock Band (found the disc in a 360 case I got tonight from HWV, so I threw it in with a case + manual I had previously bought w/o disc at HWV)

Total TIV: $60. :D

I'm planning on putting it towards an iPad after I flip enough stuff since my one local BB(the one with assholes for managers albeit) carries iPads.

You got the GTA 4 Episodes? Let's play sometime. I know where the APC is in multiplayer in Ballad Of Gay Tony. It's just as overpowered as you would think too.

There's also an attack chopper with infinite rockets on it that decimates everything in it's path.

But look at the company that paired themselves with Amazon. They were re-sealing and selling the used games they were taking in as NEW.

But as long as they pay and they pay what they promise without pulling some bs 'it had scratches' or whatever when my stuff is usually mint/complete, then I'm fine with mailing in my trades.

The way it is, the place to mail them to is down in Maryland. I'm up in PA, so it should be a short process(I hope).

I sent them my used Wii last fall for $175 gift card and the transaction went smooth, almost too smooth. :D

My total of two trades I'll mail in tomorrow:
#1
:360: Beatles RB
:ps3: Beatles RB
:ps3: GH: Smash Hits
#2
:360:Lego RB
:360:RB2

Total spent: $15 + 17 + ~6 = $38
Total gotten towards an iPad: $100

Not bad flipping IMO.
Just submitted 10 trade in for LBP, apparently this site doesn't have a limit.
CAG16+EDGE to get them from Gamestop?

That was my plan, till I remembered I only had maybe $4 left in credit at Gamestop.

Oh well. But GTA Episodes on PS3 will keep me busy for a long time. The music so far is insane. Bon Jovi, AC/DC and The Doors all on one station so far.

Just submitted 10 trade ins for Brutal Legend. Locked it in at $8 and it already dropped today. Hopefully all goes well. convert $27EA->$80BestBuy :)
Even better than Cag16 is you can stack the auto10 n 25OFF and edge. I got LBP goty for $21 after that but I got new, used would be....$13.90 each.wow..flipping to bb for $30. multiply? but i only did the duplicates to get rid of EA games...but now that I'm looking at it...

Then trade in to best buy and made $150 ish? idk

Has anyone tried trading into a BestBuy store using the method outlined on the site? It seems like it would avoid a lot of the hassle involved with shipping it out, and since you're bringing the quote with you that's the value you'll likely be given.

lol... n then i can use that money to buy gamestop gift card...it's a vicious circle this flipping game of ours... if only we put it to better use than vid games.
I just did the check out for instore and it is the exact same process. so i may just stop by bestbuy geekcenter with that slip and see if it works. worst they can do is say no.

Products eligible for the In-Store Trade-in program:

 • Apple iPods
 • Apple Laptops
 • Mobile Phones
 • PC Laptops
For products not listed above, please use the Online Trade-in program which requires you to mail in your products.

nvm

That's how we roll. ;)

Real flippers know the cycle never ends.

By the way, did anyone notice that the trade in center for Best Buy is the exact same trade in center for Gazelle? Just a little something interesting.

I wonder how much they'll be offering once they receive the games.

It says 'quoted price' but it also says the value may go down if it's 'damaged during shipping.' That leaves a lot of room for interpretation. It's basically like Gazelle, except you don't get the option of stating what condition it's in and you don't really get to contest it once they have your stuff. Unless you want to pay return shipping.

Nah i did that 40% off used games thingy

According to Haley at Dealtree, all quotes are valid for 30 days. So hopefully that means 30 days from placing the order, to them receiving it at the warehouse, not 30 days til end of inspection.

Like I posted earlier, it's the exact same inspection center as Gazelle, so I'm assuming they operate the same way... a 30 day grace period. 30 days should really be more than enough time to get those games to the inspection center anyways, though.
Has anyone used the packing slip from the e-mail? And how cheap is the packing material?
Ignored :(
Ignored :(
Not sure exactly what you are asking...I print the packing slip and mailing label from the site. As far as packing material "cost" goes, there really shouldn't be any. Just use wadded up paper if necessary (if packing a box). I usually use random packing material that I have received in various deliveries.

Does anyone have a solution for the "Address not verified" error? I tried both my address and my gf's address and they both get rejected.

Printed the packing slip and the shipping label. Shipping label says USPS but the website says take it to UPS. I tried calling the toll free number but gave up after being on hold 15 minutes. I guess I just take it to USPS since my label was a USPS label? I am confused.

best buy sells game stop giftcards?

Can anyone verify that they are okay with taking 10 games at once? The deal with LBP is great and rather simple, so long as they don't reject the game. Then it becomes a pain. I have a hunch that they might take exception to getting 300 copies of LBP.

Exactly. I used a small box I had lying around here and I took a couple pages out of an insert that came with our local paper and wadded it up to make 'padding' for the box. I also wrapped the packing slip right around the games so that that's the first thing they'll see once they open the box and take out the packing material I used.;)

I failed to read the 'take it to UPS to get a receipt' part. All I did was copy the delivery confirmation number off of the pre-paid shipping label and put it into a notepad document. Now when I want to check it's progress I just copy/paste it into the USPS site's track and confirm search and find out the info for it.

It's already IN Maryland as of today, so it should be processed before the week is out hopefully.;)

How long do we have to actually ship the games after getting the estimation?

You must ship your trade-in items within 30 days or the estimated value will be invalid.

it tells you everything from the link on the 1st page.

What's the actual wording? I can't find it in OP's link or the faq on that page.

Thanks

From the "How It Works" page:

"You must ship your trade-in items within 30 days or the estimated value will be invalid. If you experience technical difficulties, use our trade-in support contact form"

Thanks OP. This seems interesting. I am considering this for Tekken 6 and AC2, although I still want both, I paid about 30 for each, so this would kinda neutralize it, especially since I dont play them much anymore and AC2 lacks multiplayer for me to go back to it. I'm still not sure whether I want to bite on the trade-ins or not. Anyone want to give me some advice? cause I have a lot of games overall too, so it makes me wonder if its worth keeping these two games around.

I'm getting a used copy of Assassin's Creed II from gamestop (for $5.50, due to a $20 off coupon from the Beatles Rock Band fiasco) and am going to send that in for $30. Might see if I can pick up some other stuff to send in as well. Since I picked value shipping, it's going to be a week before I get the game, but I locked in the value, so I'm good, right?

My package is listed as having been processed yesterday in Capitol Heights, MD and the progress hasn't moved again since yesterday at about 2pm.:bomb:

Now I'm getting anxious waiting for this package to say 'delivered' and for the verification process to begin.
