So I happened to find a list of their games that they are giving some good money on, I guess to compete with Gamestop. Here is a copy of the list. I dont know if you have to trade in more than 1 game to get the deal, but thought others would be able to chime in with their experience. Of note is the hot shots golf trade in for PS3 (if you were able to get it from the sears clearance).

Added by Io: Note that you can also trade games in using this site:
http://ebay.eztradein.com/ebay/
which is handled by the same processor (Dealtree) used for the Best Buy program. In this case, though, you can get PayPal payments instead of Best Buy gift cards. The trade-in values and processing methods seem to be exactly the same.

-----
I tried looking for the $20 and $30 trade in value games but came up empty, if you want to provide the link so I can add it here, let me know via PM.

UPDATED: since it keeps getting asked

1. Can I take them to a physical store?
Games need to be mailed in. If you try to do an instore trade from the website it will redirect you to mailing it in.

2. How many days do I have to mail it in?
30 days from initiating the trade. Mail it in ASAP as the processing time until you get your money differs and could be a wait.

3. Are trade in quotes locked in or do they get valued at time of processing?
Get your games in fast enough and you will not have to worry about this. But the majority believe that you are locked in as long as it gets there before the 30 days are up.

4. Do games have to be complete?
Case, Manual, and working game are your only options. So yes, full credit if you have everything. But we are not too sure on how they determine scratches affecting playability (if they physically test the game during processing). Just clean all smudges and fingerprints prior to mailing, and if you have deep scratches it is up to you to chance them saying the game does not work.

5. What happens if they say the game is worth less than trade in quote?
You can either accept their valuation or PAY to have your game shipped back to you.

All of my games I sent in are 'NEW' from the warehouse straight to this trade in center in the same box. They better not give me any bad condition bs.

I'm stuck on waiting to receive too. Unfortunately, since yesterday was the tax day deadline in the US, chances are that many of our packages are stalled in flooded post offices overflowing with 1040 bs.

My package still shows that it left the sorting facility in Capitol Heights(MD) as of yesterday and the processing center for Best Buy/DealTree is 60 miles to the NORTH of there.

Then again, it took nearly 2 weeks for a guide package to go from PA to VA the one time it was sent via Media Mail. So I'm used to delays with mail already, but it's nerve wracking to sit and wait like this.

I have gone from 640->250 gamestop cred this week. but most of it is doubled from flips and a few things like red dead and gta eps for hyper cheap. woot for capitalism
I have every preorder for the year, the only ones i am debating are spider man and transformers and other ones I would normally get used months after release...
what are you all doing with bestbuy credit? im hoping new computer someday, lol

I'm trying to flip my way into an iPad.

If I can do it, I'll need $165 more of $15 B1G1 purchases at BBV, and I'll have enough in BB giftcards to get a 32GB iPad. :D

I too sent in a LBP. I actually read about this deal in the Sears clearance thread.

Since I had purchased a new LBP GOTY at BB for $20 last Friday, due to a tag error, I sent in my original one for $30. I end up $10 ahead.

Assuming I get the full $79 in credit, I'm probably going to throw down a pre-order for Transformers: War For Cybertron at BB, assuming they're giving out the 500 bonus Gamer's Club points for it($10 certificate).

Otherwise, I'll probably sell the card for $60 cash if someone wants it.:D;) I have more than enough games to last me until the end of the year and into next year already.

I have been playing the transformers Revenge of the Fallen I picked up at BBV for 7.50 and it is pretty awesome. I have my oldest kid go through the missions and then I clean up getting the platinum speed medals. Good Fun :) It is making me want to get the new transformers you keep talking about. I looked up the new castlevania and spiderman and they don't interest me at all. I was looking at last guardian, cuz i loved shadow of the collossus, but it doesnt captivate me either. Ipad sounds interesting but I dont even touch my ds anymore, I just dont travel or commute/metro as much as I did during college.

I'm waiting for actual video of the game in action, plus a verification that the game is 100% action based and not some turn based strategy or other blech variation that I can't stand before I make my decision. But if I get this credit from BB soon enough and I don't sell it to the same person who bought my $225 in GS credit for $160, then I'll probably use it to put down the pre-order on T: WFC.

Can you trade games into stores? Their site doesn't seem to be updated. If I click on trade in to store it does give the game estimator afterward. Also wondering how strict they are about accepting discs, cases, coverart, or manuals that are damaged?

it says only a few computer items can be traded in to geek squad in stores. it's on the main trade in page. it says all else has to be shipped.
Products eligible for the In-Store Trade-in program:

 • Apple iPods
 • Apple Laptops
 • Mobile Phones
 • PC Laptops
For products not listed above, please use the Online Trade-in program which requires you to mail in your products.

No, you can not do games in-store trades. The in-store trades are for laptops, mobile phones and iPods only (for now at least).

If your merchandises are damaged/torn up/...the worst case scenario would probably be to have the items being returned back to you. Oh wait, I have to say the worst case scenario would be they will not accept your items and having it lost somewhere in the mailing system (no, they are not responsible for it).

Okay I wasn't sure if it just wasn't updated since it gave the option to me for games after clicking store and it also does not list games under the online option on the main page. I guess they must be the same as Amazon, I'm reading through this thread right now and IATCG said that. Amazon seems to not accept tiny cracks in games, or any cuts in coverart or manuals or cases, and I guess folds are subjective.

Do you have to pay to ship them back if they're the ones who won't accept them? I guess it's either take the reduced value or you pay to ship back, since they will take them if the art, case, manual sucks and just give you 0 if disc sucks.

Does the credit ever expire? Thank you guys.

Is the address for the trade in on everyone's label really small (the Hunt Valley, MD addres)? My label looks fine except the address is really small and light. Everything else, including the return address (my address), looks fine.

yes mine was the same way.

Well it turns out I have more to trade in there than I thought.

$20 Call of Juarez
$20 Guitar Hero Smash Hits
$20 Lego Rock Band
$20 Motor Storm

$30 Assassin's Creed II
$30 Darksiders

Anyone know if $30 is the best you can get right now for Darksiders and Assassin's Creed?

Pretty much since you get get AC2 for $30 new.

Got my confirmations this morning via email that all my TIV quotes were accurate, says I should expect a card to be mailed within 7 days. Now I can only hope they just put the amount all on one card.

Same here.. Took about a week to receive the package and verify.

Same here. I am happy :)

I havent beaten AC2 yet, but after playing I realize I wont really have a reason to go back to it. Since it says this should last till May 29 (unless I am reading it wrong), I think I might just trade it in after beating it soon then. 30$ trade in for it is pretty good, especially since that is how much it sells for right now.
how long do I have to ship the games?
I believe someone said it was 30 days, though I got mine out in the mail much sooner than that.;)

4 of my LBP game came in such shitty condition I know its gonna get rejected, gonna see if I can trade in store for another.

How so? They're guaranteed to have a case and manual on the site, and I don't think I've ever seen a PS3 game with significant scratches on it due to the scratch resistant coating.

I had a copy of Armored Core 4 from the $5 HWV sale that was actually resurfaced because I guess it had far too many scratches on it. Unfortunately, once that scratch resistant coating is gone, the games scratch easier than any other media I've seen.

i think you have to get it into the trade in center within 30 days, so don't wait to ship till that 29th day, I would asap but Im still waiting on my gamestop orders to arrive w lbp... altho now hqn has me worried that the 'guarantee' for manuals and cases may be less than pristine... i guess i can trade in store for better copies if they have them, altho that will be odd to ask for more than one better copy...altho i can just return some i guess also instore. if you send less than your order, can you just not check those boxes when you print up your shipping manifest? and are you guys sending anything with your name and address or is the shipping label all you need? also is there a way to cancel a trade in or do you just ignore it since it seems there is no cancel button. thanx alot hopefully it all goes well.

im thinking about trading in l4d2 but the case has white sticker residue on it from the sticker they put on used games will they still accept it?

the boxes look like they actually fell off a truck

For those that recently got the correct TIV quotes. How were the condition of your art, manuals, discs?

You can cancel a trade before you ship it. I don't like how you gotta send an email, give a reason, and wait for a response. On Amazon you just click cancel.

How To Cancel A Trade-in
To cancel a trade before shipping the item, use the Trade-in Support contact form, include your name and trade-in number, and specify what you want cancelled in your transaction. We will send you an e-mail confirming the cancellation. You may be asked, but not required, to provide a reason for cancelling the trade.

Once we have confirmed receipt of your trade, the transaction cannot be cancelled.

Could i cancel my BB trade in and do this or will this mess up everything since it's the same company?

It's sort of odd, since I can log in with that Best Buy login through that site... my old trades aren't there, though, so I think it's handled differently. Maybe.

I think I may try to cancel my other trades and do it through this instead.

EDIT: Hahah, even the shipping label is the same. It still reads Best Buy Trade In.

Thanks for the info...I wish I had known about this before my first trade in.

wish i still had my copy of left 4 dead 2, that $30 is a great flip
but thanks for the heads up on the paypal thing
trading in X-men Origins wolverine so it would be better to get $20 then a $20 gift card
I wonder if paypal will charge a fee for this
They don't. I've done a trade through them before but hated it. Took way too long. Probably 3 weeks from the time i mailed until the time i received money. Its exactly the same as bestbuy.

Sorry guys, i didnt realize this bestbuy trade-in program was done by dealtree. I would've mentioned it a long time ago. :whistle2:#

Oh wow. So the game i was flipping to dealtree was Guitar Hero on the wii. This was quite a while ago and the only good flip they ever had. I see that it still offers $20 credit today. I was buying GH wii from Blockbuster. It was $9.99 each at the time plus they had B1G1 free. Spend $10 get $40 paypal. good luck!

Anyone here used Ebay EZTradein to trade in video games for Paypal cash before?

Is their service reliable?

What are their processing times like?
