So I happened to find a list of their games that they are giving some good money on, I guess to compete with Gamestop. Here is a copy of the list. I dont know if you have to trade in more than 1 game to get the deal, but thought others would be able to chime in with their experience. Of note is the hot shots golf trade in for PS3 (if you were able to get it from the sears clearance).

Added by Io: Note that you can also trade games in using this site:
http://ebay.eztradein.com/ebay/
which is handled by the same processor (Dealtree) used for the Best Buy program. In this case, though, you can get PayPal payments instead of Best Buy gift cards. The trade-in values and processing methods seem to be exactly the same.

-----
I tried looking for the $20 and $30 trade in value games but came up empty, if you want to provide the link so I can add it here, let me know via PM.

UPDATED: since it keeps getting asked

1. Can I take them to a physical store?
Games need to be mailed in. If you try to do an instore trade from the website it will redirect you to mailing it in.

2. How many days do I have to mail it in?
30 days from initiating the trade. Mail it in ASAP as the processing time until you get your money differs and could be a wait.

3. Are trade in quotes locked in or do they get valued at time of processing?
Get your games in fast enough and you will not have to worry about this. But the majority believe that you are locked in as long as it gets there before the 30 days are up.

4. Do games have to be complete?
Case, Manual, and working game are your only options. So yes, full credit if you have everything. But we are not too sure on how they determine scratches affecting playability (if they physically test the game during processing). Just clean all smudges and fingerprints prior to mailing, and if you have deep scratches it is up to you to chance them saying the game does not work.

5. What happens if they say the game is worth less than trade in quote?
You can either accept their valuation or PAY to have your game shipped back to you.

Yeah. If it's over, it's over, these things happen. But I will be pissed if they decide to revise their policy for games that I already locked in a week ago that just haven't been received yet.

Return slip from GameStop?
Return slip from GameStop?
they were new and i took the plastic off, im more concerned that they will just pay me for the limit of 3 and keep the games since the site says, limit 3 per year and we will keep any extra copies

It would be a mistake to screw customers at this point by changing the rules after you have sent in the games. Some of us llike myself would take them to small claims court in a heart beat for something like that.......:bomb:

They just put up that 3 game limit today from what I can tell.....

I dont know if this wording was changed recently, but I suspect it wasn't. And yes, the 3 game limit is new. It's also on each page of the video game estimator on Ez-trade in as well (even though the video games link has been removed).

6. When you place a trade-in order or when you receive confirmation from Dealtree that you have placed a trade-in order, Dealtree has not agreed to actually perform the trade-in. Dealtrees acceptance of your trade-in order only occurs when Dealtree sends you the payment for the valuation of the Item determined by Dealtree. You acknowledge that Dealtree may reject any Item for any reason and may limit the quantity of Items to be traded in.

12. You agree that the only location for any legal action between you and Dealtree will be the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California.

Well, I guess I am lucky that I only use the Best Buy trade in site and not the Ebay trade in site, because the terms and conditions are not the same as listed above.......

3. Limitations and Final Determinations. You acknowledge and agree that Dealtree may reject or limit the quantity of Items to be traded in under the Trade-In Program. You agree that all determinations of Dealtree or Best Buy with respect to trade-in and credit value assigned to the Item after its inspection will be accepted as final and are not negotiable.

It's essentially the same given the new "limit three, extras will not be returned"

brilliant post, now this will change tomorrow...

You can thank all the moronic bragging...I got 10, I got 31 ... posts for this policy change ... and it will not be long before values change 7 days a week, 24 hours ....

Hopefully my 3 copies of Monkey Ball go through. I emailed them on Friday, asking if I would get the price increase from $20 to $25. Their response was as follows:

"The price offered was based on the current sales data retrieved for that item, at the time you generated your estimate. Because the electronics market is constantly fluctuating, the trade-in values also fluctuate. The trade-in value offered will be based upon the quoted value of the item at the time you submitted your estimate. We will not honor any changes in value, whether negative or positive, as long as the item is sent within the 30 day time frame. We appreciate your business."

Ahhh... shit! So should I sit on my 6 locked-in copies of SMB since I already sent in 3 or just send them in and hope for the best? I left the first 3 sealed and was going to do the same with these, just in case I needed to return them due to Best Buy sheistyness. Good thing for me, the courts are in the OC. =)

Yeah this was my sidejob. I guess my 10 lbp's and 7 smb's and legoindy2s and wkc's, etc. I loved it while it lasted :) and yeah I didnt even think of emailing them asking to up my smb from 20-25, i think we are lucky enough as it is :) this deal started this year and ended this year, and the only people complaining should be those that didn't jump on it like we did :) Great Job everyone, thanx CAG!
Can anyone confirm if we have locked-in trades that we should still send them?
i wouldnt if i were you, i emailed there customer service and i will let you konw what they say

I hope they at least honor the values they've already given out. My package was delivered yesterday according to the delivery confirmation number, but the website has the games still listed as waiting to receive, which has me a little worried now that I see this.

Oh well, all good things must come to an end. I can't believe they took this long, and I can't believe that other companies still haven't caught on.

I've got some hefty orders that I've sent to them but I think they should be okay as they were all received yesterday. All the existing orders I have to send in to them are single copies of a game and shouldn't raise any major flags.

Gazelle is the best company hands down for me. They haven't created any of these complicated terms like Noram/Amazon and DealTree now have. They send you shipping boxes, and they have competitive TIV's.
Yeah, it look like the gig is up. This was just placed on the Best Buy trade in site.....

Limit: We will not accept more than 3 games of the same title and platform from a customer (or address) in a year. Please do not submit more than the limit as excess submissions WILL NOT BE RETURNED.

They better not try to screw any of us.......
:applause: I want my $120 in cash for sending in 6 copies of Super Monkey Ball. The policy should only apply to new trades sent in after they instituted the new policy.

Otherwise, they are definitely going to hear from me if they try to screw me over.

Yeah, it's not too hard to go to the MA Attorney General and plead your case if they get cute about the orders that are already in place.

Same here actually.

So I should be good since I've only sent in 3 copies of SMB to Best Buy. I was thinking of trading in some more games (Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 & Assassin's Creed II), but now I'm not too sure whether I should risk it...

We will have to wait and see what happens. They should definitely honor the ones that were already quoted before today. Anything from today going forward once they implemented the policy should be fair game as far as their new limits go. All I sent in was 2 orders of 3 SMB each so hopefully everything goes smoothly.

I just dropped off still sealed 9 Dark Voids ($20 each) and 3 SMB's (sent 2 @ $20 earlier) 2 hours ago, before I checked CAG. Arghh, I think I'm screwed

I think, based on the message that Hiro0015 got above, that they'll be honoring things that were already sent and quoted before the terms changed. And really, it's a bad business practice to change terms retroactively, not to mention legally reprehensible.

Now, I've personally got 2X Lego Indy 2 for each system quoted on Saturday and locked in, which should be here in the next day or so, and will go right out to them. I'm under the limit of 3, and sure it will be fine.

Thank you for your response. We will accept these items, as you have already shipped them. Please note that we will be unable to accept more than 3 of the same game from this point on. It appears you have several estimates generated at the moment. Would you like us to cancel any of these for you?

Thank you,
Haley

I emailed deal tree with a copy of my shipping manifest and my tracking number to show I had already shipped them and that was the response I received. I assume it means as long as you ship it out by today your trade will be honored but i would think that sending any in after today would be risky

So if I have an estimate locked in, but haven't shipped it yet, should I not bother? I have mutliple copies of the same game. Or can I only send in 3 copies and leave the others out?

Keep in mind I got that message on Tuesday, well before the 3 limit was put in place.

i would send in 3 and leave the others out i have done that before, i locked in 10 assassins creeds but gamestop wouldnt let me order that many so i sent in like 5 instead. and i got paid for the 5 no problem.

How come the EZtradein site no longer lets you check the TIV of video games? Video games are completely missing from the site.

Thanks for the reply. I will do that just to be sure. Sucks losing out on the other games I had, but I guess 3 is better than none.

Not everyone who will send games after today will know about the change in their policy. I think that while you'll take a risk, it's worth a shot to send in whatever games you have locked in.

Oh no! I sent the games on Tuesday...10 copies of Super Monkey Balls...$108, which is my monthly food/going out budget during college...If this doesn't go through, I'm screwed, since they don't send the games back, correct?

Also, I forgot to get my shipping receipt...is there any way to check the package location without the receipt? I was in a hurry, and the post office employee said "that's it" and I walked out...

Go back to your trade-in account for that shipment/quote number. When you click on it, it will bring up the shipping label you printed out.

In the URL, there will be a number 91...... copy that number and that is your tracking number. voila!

If you still have the prepaid label in your email you could get the delivery confirmation number off of that and enter it on the USPS website.

I feel your pain sashka. I am also a broke college student and hopefully they will still accept my games cuz thats my truck payment for this month.

Yeah, I got several things to send and was going to wait till next week just to spread them out. But I guess I'll do them all today. Ugh... I still don't even see the new policy anywhere - it doesn't show up on my account info or trade-in estimates.

OK, I just talked to the live chat person on their website and they said that as long as the items were sent in before the new policy took place you should be fine. So if I still had some stragglers left behind I would send them in today so they would be postmarked by today. At least then you'd have the argument that you sent them in the morning of the policy change. Anything after today would be a risk.

This might be, and probably is, a stupid question...but where do I find that number?

It's the # at the end of your shipping label link in your email.

I don't see why you're happy.

The electronic rate approved number or the one below the bar code?

Because I tried both, and none of them did anything..

It's under the barcode but you skip the first two blocks of numbers and begin with the 91 number. For even easier cut and paste purposes, if you go up to the address bar, the address of the shipping label ends with TrackingNo= and then the number.

I'm happy it lasted this long. Many cags thought that we would be given less than we were estimated because of the bad reviews. We all got very lucky with our multiple orders and that it lasted this long. I'm happy we didnt all get screwed and had to pay to get our orders of games back. why arent you happy J7? chill ;)

Well, my large order made it through a sorting facility, got to the second place and then shows returned to my post office today. Ugh. Hits keep coming.
