Gamezebo review:

"On top of the unmemorable graphics, we were disappointed by the lack of voice-acting or any significant animation that might justify this title being offered at a premium price point. What's more, the game can easily be polished off in a single evening. It's not that Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe Murders in the Rue Morgue is a failure, but it is a bit of a disappointment."

Pros: Crisp graphics. "Items within items" to find, such as cupboards.

Cons: Long recharge time on hints. Hints only recharge within a scene. Flat mystery HOG formula with no twists or surprises. Uninspired locations. Items to pick up or ivnestigate often seem random and arbitrary.

Rating: 3.0 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 4.0 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"1 Penguin 100 Cases is one of those frustrating hidden object games that just doesn't live up to its full potential. A cute coming of age story about a young penguin named Pengoo who gets separated from his flock and must find his way home, it boasts lengthy gameplay, unique cartoonish graphics and plenty of creative puzzles and scenarios - as well as an unhealthy number of flaws."

Pros: Cartoonish style. Lengthy quest. Variety of challenges.

Cons: Localization issues. Irritating voice-acting. Items and instructions not always clearly labeled or explained.

Gamezebo review:

"And for those of you who haven’t played it before, don’t let Syberia’s age trick you into thinking that it’s too old to be worth checking out. It was one of the best point-and-click adventure games around when it was first released, and it maintains that status today. There are few such titles that can match Syberia’s visual beauty and expert storytelling. The only difference now is that it’s cheaper and more accessible than ever before."

Pros: Stunning artistic direction. Engrossing story. Fine voice cast. Compelling puzzles. Lengthy.

Cons: A little too much backtracking. Feminists might find the main character outdated.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"Overall, Luxor Adventures is one of the more polished, fun and challenging HOGs we've played over the past few months. The value proposition is also high given the fact you get multiple game types (and individual modes) in one package, too. Be sure to download the free trial to start saving the world...one click at a time."

Pros: Fun mix of HOG and many mini-games. Multiple game modes to unlock. Great music and attractive graphics. High replayability as objects different each time.

Cons: Nothing really unique about the HOG gameplay. Can be quite challenging because many objects on the screen.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"I had a blast playing Awakening: The Dreamless Castle. The variety of puzzles, the music, the lush fairytale artwork, and the medieval castle setting were engaging to the point where I had to stay up late one night just to finish and see what happens to the princess Sophia in the end. I won’t spoil it for you, but let’s just say that the ending does a nice job of setting up the next adventure. Oh, and when you finish the game you get access to new content: Goblinjong, a mahjong matching game that delivers more story information as you progress through each level. All in all, I think Awakening: The Dreamless Castle is, in fact, a dreamy title for puzzle lovers."

Pros: Oodles of puzzles and mini-games. Beautiful scenes. Delightful fairytale story.

Cons: Very few hidden object scenes. Some items require multiple clicks. Some mini-games too repetitive.

Gamezebo review:

"It's about refinement, not revolution; it doesn't bring anything new to the genre and it's not going to stump anyone with devious designs and brand-new brainteasers, but what it does do, it does very well. We may have done it all before, but the high-gloss polish of Haunted Manor: Lord of Mirrors makes it fun to do it all over again."

Pros: Looks and sounds great, with lots of little touches that really set the atmosphere. Relatively easy gameplay should make it especially appealing to HOG newbies.

Cons: Lackluster minigames. There's nothing new under the sun: Don't expect to find any groundbreaking originality here.

Gamezebo review:

"Still, Antique Road Trip is a solid game, if not an especially profound or memorable one. What it lacks in variety or originality, it makes up for by being the sort of thing that can be played a level or two at a time, then put away for a day, a week or a month with no feeling of lost momentum or progress. It's a time-killer, not a page-turner, but sometimes that's all you need. And if that is all you need, Antique Road Trip USA is definitely worth giving it a try."

Pros: Easy to play in short-and-sweet bursts when you've got a few minutes to kill.

Cons: Gets repetitive. Might be a little too "down home" for some folks.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 3.0 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"Wedding Dash: Ready, Aim, Love! is a fun, romantic time management game that puts a new spin on waitressing. With lots of room for strategy, lots of combo moves, and plenty of tasks to manage, the pace is swift without being too frantic. If you want a challenge with a sweet theme, check it out."

Pros: Great pace. Engaging theme and story. Interesting assortment of wedding guests, each with distinct traits and quirks. Lots of game tasks. Many ways to make combos and earn bonuses. Great length.

Cons: Not drastically different from the previous Wedding Dash games. Cupid minigame is short and simple.

Gamezebo review:

"Phantom of the Renaissance Faire is a beautifully done, smart game that masterfully accommodates a variety of skill levels and is still fun even on your second playthrough. (If you played on the easier setting the first time, switch to the harder version for your second try. It's a completely different experience.) Hunting down the hint fairies is a fun mini-game by itself - you'll find yourself revisiting scenes just to track down the fairy you missed, whether you actually need her help or not. If you're looking for just the right mixture of puzzles and hidden objects, this is the game for you."

Pros: Beautiful visuals. Variable skill settings. Fun puzzles.

Cons: A bit on the short side.

"Helen Jones has a knack for helping people find that "special someone." After retiring to a small seaside community she keeps on doing what she does best: helping the townspeople find true love in Matchmaker: Joining Hearts. Unfortunately there's not much to love about this by-the-numbers hidden object game."

Pros: Sweet premise that focuses on older characters. Somewhat unique theme. Timed and untimed modes.

Cons: Formula become tedious. Objects frequently repeat. Unattractive art style and scene composition. Not very challenging.

I couldn't find any reviews etc of this older game, Tropical Puzzle, but here is the game description from Big Fish:

Let yourself be immersed in crystalline waters, sandy beaches and brain-teasing puzzle fun. Arrange balls in lines of three or more as the tropical ambience washes over you. The goal is to clear the board of every ball, so don't get too relaxed as new ones will keep appearing. Special balls will also show up occasionally, be careful to use them wisely.

No review for this on Gamezebo... N4G.com did review G2: Geeks Unleashed, however:

"The game's title says it all. You have been warned: this rather unique puzzle game is rife with inside jokes pertaining to various prominent groups from popular culture."

• Unique puzzle gameplay
• Pretty decent artwork

Cons:

Gamezebo review:

"With that said, waiting and collecting money is not exactly what most gamers consider playing. There just is not enough to uphold the player's interest, and instead of getting challenging in the end, Tourist Trap becomes a virtual version of "Waiting for Godot." If you are really a deep-rooted fan of building simulations it surely cannot hurt to give the trial a whirl, but don't expect more than a very short and mildly boring pastime."

Pros: Quirky characters and attractions. Small surprises, such as bonus tasks or surprise messages.

Cons: Boring and outdated graphics. Extremely slow pace. Challenges are rather similar and quickly begin to repeat. The main task is to wait for money. Adds nothing new to the genre.

For some reason there is no review of Jane Angel on Gamezebo. This is a newer hidden object game with a fairly high profile.

On iWin, the average player rating was 3.5 stars.

Here is a description of the game from Big Fish:

Jane Angel, an FBI agent and an art expert, is investigating the Holy Grail! Follow the clues and find this priceless treasure! Where could the Holy Grail be found nowadays? Was it brought to Colombia by Columbus under the Red Templar’s Cross on his sails? Was it buried under Roslyn Chapel in Scottish Mountains? Gamezebo review:

"Angela Young 2 barely scratches the surface of being a quality hidden object game when at least half the objects you're supposed to find are sitting right out in the open. Add awkward English and storytelling to the mix, and you've got a game that's not necessarily worth buying. Angela Young 2: Escape the Dreamscape had a lot of potential and room to work with its "Wonderland" feel and the chance of pulling in many enthusiastic gamers, but unfortunately, you'll be more likely trying to "ESC" the Dreamscape."

Pros: Nice music and graphics. Game auto-saves after each level.

Cons: Confusing story. Little replayability. No object variation.

No DNA review on Gamezebo. Killer Betties did review it:

"If your idea of fun is a good, casual puzzler, DNA certainly wouldn't be a bad choice to help you pass the time; levels only take a few minutes at a time, and you can save after every level in Action mode, so it isn't as if you'll have to worry about firing it up and not being able to enjoy it cause you don't have countless untouched minutes or hours heading your way. When you need a quick break from life, DNA is a soothing game that could put your mind at ease."

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"Basically, Hidden Mysteries: Buckingham Palace is a decent hidden object game with an innovative hint system and some interesting inventory-based puzzles, but it's a game that could have been even better if a little more thought and effort had gone into storyline, item context, and how items were placed in the scenes."

Pros: Innovative hints system. Timed and relaxed modes. Inventory puzzles.

Cons: Haphazardly placed and illogical items. Not much of a story.

"Despite some hiccups, I did like playing Quilting Time, even while struggling to advance through the game play modes. It's challenging, upbeat, and original. If you like old-school style puzzle games, this is worth checking out. That said, it is a very simple game without too many extra bells and whistles, so the one-hour trial pretty much shows you all there is to see."

Pros: Pretty original theme. Clever game play concept, with original pattern-finding tasks. Challenging puzzler.

Gamezebo review:

"All in all, The Heritage isn't a complete train wreck, it's just not very good. There's enough meat on the bone to keep players occupied for a few hours, but it sure isn't the most memorable time you'll ever spend with a hidden object game. There are just so many other, better hidden object games on the market that unless you've already finished every single entry on your "Must Play" list, I really don't see any reason to spend much time with this one."

Pros: Some tough hidden object searches.

Cons: Flat puzzles. Inconsistent story. Sub-par graphics and sound add up to an entirely forgettable experience.

Gamezebo review:

"Completing the game's 40 levels should take players about 3 or 4 hours. The ending is a complete letdown, which makes it a difficult game to recommend. Gotcha: Celebrity Secrets could've been really great if each level had used a unique drawing of a crowd scene, like Martin Handford's famous "Where's Waldo?" books. The heavily recycled art collages it used instead just aren't that interesting."

Pros: Hunt for people instead of objects. Cute, cartoony graphics. Bonus objects and unlockables make play more fun.

Cons: Art is recycled throughout the game, lowering difficulty. Short levels. Weak story.

Gamezebo review:

"I can't count the number of times I've been disappointed by a sequel that make the same mistakes as the game that came before it in the series with no effort to improve. Or worse, a sequel that's actually less fun than its predecessor. I'm very happy to report that Danger Next Door: Miss Teri Tale doesn't fall into that trap. Episode three of the Miss Teri Tale series, which up to this point has been lackluster, is bursting with newfound style and creativity."

Pros: Surreal and artsy presentation. Interesting mini-games. Something a little different.

Cons: Cheesy voice-acting. Clicks don't always seem to take on the firsty try. Implausible premise (mayor investigating crimes!)

"Doors of the Mind: Inner Mysteries is a game that’s impossible to recommend, between its extreme brevity, graphics issues, and disappointing storyline. There are countless hidden object games available now that are going to be far more satisfying investments of player’s time. Most HOGs don’t play with ideas as promising as the ones Doors of the Mind tried to work with, though, which makes this game’s mediocrity all the more disappointing."

Pros: Interesting premise. Some levels have a striking, eerie atmosphere.

Cons: Low-res graphics lead to excessive pixel-hunting. Hint system is occasionally useless. Story is ultimately disappointing and dissatisfying.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars; Average Player Score: 3.5 out of 5 stars
