Anyone know if the PS3 BluRay's are actually HD? I usually like to support HD extras but I have the TE stick for the 360 so I pretty much intend on turning my 360 into the dedicated fighting machine if I can.

Okay, everyone can stop complaining now. Gamestop's relisted the artbook on their website.

http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=74493

After reading a bit into the situation, it seems like Gamestop got another shipment of them. So... To everyone who "just missed it" or "was planning to get it until they removed it," I would recommend ordering it now, as Gamestop (hopefully) has at least a vague idea of their inventory now. And for those who were worried about ordering it just prior to 5/5, I would say you have nothing to worry about. :]
Do you work at a GameStop or a different retail store? How do they justify this? I don't understand how you can punish an employee that didn't even sell the item for allowing a return. As long as everything with the return is legit it's not like they have the option to decline the return, right? How can you punish someone for this?
i work at a different store but i have many friends that work at gamestops and EBs, if a store has an over abundance of returns there is internal inspections and what-not usually ending with mass firing, it doesnt matter where the item was bought, the return store get the shit end of the stick and it is money out of their daily profits. the website shows only proffit, whereas the store now has a negative 59.99 plus tax. many companies as big as gamestop would rather just get rid of the management and throw another, more harsh manager in the mix that will make shopping at that store shittier. many stores in the malls here have been goign through these mass firings and remanaging since xmas an its made me dislike shoppign at a few stores.

it does seem shitty since they have to do the return but if sumone is going out of their way to 'screw' gamestop thsi way lots of innocent ppl will get screwed too instead of the conglomerate... jsut scam walmart, they dont tend to get fired over anything so trivial as game returns...and u dotn need a receipt

Why is everyone so worked up over this game? I haven't seen anything about it other than here in this thread. Is this supposed to be the next great game?

I think a lot of it is for $60 you get the game, a two disc soundtrack, a bonus disc, and maybe an artbook. Which is a really good deal and this is CAG. It does look like a pretty good game though.

I think ppl are worked up over the artbook and not the game... Atleast I am :)
Too bad it is a very light artbook... 32 pages spread among 10 characters... so beside the Cover, Noel has what? 3 images and 1 of them is probably a shared group shot :(

its a 2d fighter, isnt that enough a reason...jk
its by the same crew as guilty gear, and the style is different and fun.
probly the same reason people are worked up over MvC2 coming to XBL... or street fighter hyper uber duper turbo xtreme taco supreme remix

2D fighters are the craze this year, haven't you heard? SFIV kicked us off, then MvC2 was announced for PSN/XBL, and now we've got BlazBlue and King of Fighters XII just right around the corner. This is the fighting game fan's year.

It's a pretty technical fighter that will end up a niche game compared to the likes of Street Fighter IV, KOFXII, etc.

I'm guessing majority of the people in for this aren't gonna be terribly interested in this game a couple months after playing it. Heck, I'm a huge fighting game fan too and tried my best at Guilty Gear but was only average on that, but I buy most fighting games out there so I'll be giving this a shot too.

I reckon most are in this for the first release premium run, and most of all, the art book, which looks like it will carry some decent flipping value on eBay.
I mean, this is CAG afterall. Look at the upcoming Devil Summoner for PS2. How many even knew of, much less played, the previous one on the PS2. If it didn't have the Raiho plush, I'm pretty sure at least 80% wouldn't be getting it.

I have loved 2d fighters for years. I just have a hard time with 3d fighting games. This is one of those "deeper", for lack of a better term, games that might not be the first one i pull out when people come over, but this will take a LOT of my time when i get off work and want to have fun with a game that's more than just mashing buttons....I could really care less about the premium pack at this point. I know ill rip the music to my hard drive and watch the movies mabey once tops.

I love this devloper and still play Battle Fantasia, probably more than i do street fighter 4. And yes, this is a great year for the 2d fighter fan, MVC2, KOFXII, BB:CT, and this is before we even get close to the Christmas releases? my prayers and virginal sacrifices to the gods have finally gone answered!

Has anyone of you who placed an order on/after 5/5 and not gotten an artbook in your online page, now had the artbook added back to your page?

I just checked my 5/5 order and no artbook showing up yet :bomb: Not sure how they will handle this since the website is showing the availability of the artbook again.

I love 2D fighting games and cant wait to get this. I figured PS3/Xbox360 games are $60 anyways, you are getting the game and a few extras for the same price or cheaper. Win/win.

I pre-ordered my copy on 4/27. Anyone who didn't pre-order during the first week shouldn't be surprise that aren't getting one. Remember, Gamestop might have a couple of copies with the art book during the first week of sale. I know its a stretch but it's a chance.

I think I'm gonna cry. Since I deleted my order it still shows up on my history, even though it's cancelled, and they won't let me order another copy!
Just placed an order. Should I be seeing the artbook on the order history page because I do not.
How long was it since you placed the order. Usually your order won't show up in the order history page for a long while. Are you saying it finally showed up but no artbook was listed in it?

how are you suppose to get free shipping? it wont show up when im checking out. figures because it's only a preorder. do you get free shipping when they ship it out? i would hate to pay tax and shipping.

You have to enter the coupon SAVER

I see my order on the order history page but it just says the game no artbook.
You have to enter the coupon SAVER
my mistake, i should have stated that i did enter SAVER. however, when it comes up theres a red x next to it. does that indicate that i dont get the free shipping because it's a preorder? or does the free shipping come into play when they charge my card on june 30

The X is for you to remove the coupon if you want to (if you have two codes and your other one makes the price cheaper). If you looked it should have showed the shipping price and then minus the shipping price right after it.
Could of pre-ordered it without the money... they don't even do an authorization charge for pre-orders.
d'oh. consider it pre-ordered :)
I think I'm gonna cry. Since I deleted my order it still shows up on my history, even though it's cancelled, and they won't let me order another copy!
have you tried making a new account?

Same here. I hope the artbook doesn't go OOS by the time I'm able to order again.

Order placed, fingers crossed. My only hesitation from ordering it earlier was that by its release at the end of June, I don't know if I'm moving back home, to a new job, or staying put. And...I'm unemployed and broke. The first problem can be fixed with a call/email to customer service, the latter...we'll see.

So instead of returning something to Gamestop (where it was purchased) because someone didn't get an artbook (which was promised) is wrong, but you think people should commit fraud and return the Gamestop game to Walmart so the poor Gamestop kids don't get in trouble?

I know returns get taken off an employees sell numbers, and I don't really care. I used to do pre-orders through Gamestop all the time. I usually had 5-10 preorders at any one time. I got tired of being begged to pre-order stuff to get "exclusive pre-order items" and then never get them because they "ran out".

I forgot what game it was, but I went it to pick it up, and I asked the guy for the artbook and he said "Oh, you should have gotten that when you preordered" and I told him that when I preordered the girl told me I'd get it when I picked up the game. And he said "Well, they came in, but we gave them all away".

So I said "Okay, well I'd like to return this game". and he was like "Why?" and I told him because I wasn't given what I was promised. So he sighed and mumbled and said "it's just an artbook..." like promising something, then giving them all away (really employees taking them all and selling them on eBay) isn't a big deal.

So because of his attitude toward me an the whole thing, I said "You know what? I think I'm going to cancel all my pre-orders" and he was like "you mean "EVERYTHING!" And I was like "yeah, I'm going to start ordering at Amazon".

So he cancelled my preorders for the Halo 3 console, Halo 3 Legendary, Halo 3 Controllers, and about 5-6 games and he was very upset. He said "Oh man, this is soooo wrong".

Did I know that they would come off his sales? Yes. Did I care? No.

I only went back to that Gamestop a few more times, but I never saw that guy again. Now I order everything from Amazon, except for a very few rare occasions (like Blazblue) where I am forced to order through Gamestop.

Before people get all preachy on Haggar here for possibly getting this employee fired over an artbook, I'd like to remind you that he basically taught every other employee at this Gamestop to not give away pre-order bonuses randomly and to take them very seriously... like they should be doing all along. To a lot of people, they're the whole reason they pre-order anything, and to simply give them away or feed misinformation is wrong and misleading.

I just preordered. Here's to hoping the artbook comes through. After the Valkyria Chronicles and Mirror's Edge preorder fiascos I don't have my hopes up, but I'm going to get the game anyway and I've got enough credit to cover it.

I'm an employee and to my knowledge, returns don't hurt sales numbers. If they do, these numbers aren't monitored very closely or matter.

Now cancelled preorders, those sure do. I'm not full-time anymore there, but I would hate it when someone would come in and cancel reserves. Since I work only one day a week now, I could care less about the preorder and GI crap. I make more money elsewhere. I'm not paid enough to care.

I never forced reserves on anybody but always asked people. If they said no, that's cool. Anyway, this employee you dealt with sounded like a total douche. I've been to many GameStop stores (too many actually...) and have noticed that GS employees, as a whole, tend to be jackasses and don't care about the customer. Not all are like this. I've seen several very cool employees who go out of their way for customers. I leave these people great customer service feedback. Then on the other hand, the assholes are the ones who I tear a new one with the www.tellgamestop.com thing too.

As an employee, I know how much a negative customer service review hurts their store. It is a main factor in their store's weekly ranking. Most stores do VERY well so one negative feedback could DESTROY their ranking.

Low customer service score = low district ranking = lower bonus for store manager!

The best way to hurt someone is to mess with their money.

Talk about hitting them below the belt!

any one know if the ps3 versions soundtrack is a regular cd/dvd or a bluray like the prince of persia soundtrack?

The Prince of Persia soundtrack was a bluray? That seems so odd and completely unnecessary.
The Prince of Persia soundtrack was a bluray? That seems so odd and completely unnecessary.
yes it was very annoying, because i don't have a bluray drive in my computer to rip the music along with my other game music.
The Prince of Persia soundtrack was a bluray? That seems so odd and completely unnecessary.
It was sad. The artbook, soundtrack, and all other extras were on a single bluray. The music was great too - I was really looking forward to having a CD to listen to without turning on the PS3.

Would it be a safe assumption that people with both 360 and PS3 are ordering this for PS3 over 360?

I'm looking at picking it up, now that the artbook is back, and wanted to see what the rest of CAG was ordering it for, 360 or PS3.

I have both and I'm picking it up for the 360... but mostly because I have the Fightpads and TE Fightstick for the 360 already.

I'm grabbing the 360 version simply because of my experience with SFIV and other fighting games where the 360 version is still slightly better. These guys don't have much of a track record with the PS3 yet and I am pretty sure that will mean a superior 360 version. I know I'll miss out on the Blu Ray (which, let's be honest is just probably standard def footage upscaled anyway), but to me I prefer the best version of the game, no matter how slight.

Im going with 360, but I doubt it will be highly superior. The games will be pretty much identical. I have more friends on Live and I care more about my Gamerscore than my Trophies. Oh, and I can play easily with the 360 D-Pad.

people are riding the moral high horse because some people are returning and kepping the artbook. What about when people pre-order and i mean pre-order early and they give away your crap to someone else. I pre-ordered Naruto NInja Storm before the LE was even announced, then I switched it to the LE they said i would get a code. When I get there they told me that I should've gotten there early because they gave it away on a first come first serve basis even if it wasn't pre-ordered. So in order to keep the natural balance of the world gamestop screws people out of pre-order bonuses and we the customers ***sometimes*** screw gamestop out of a pre-order bonus. I'm keeping the game either way as long its not in a crushed box. Oh yea, PS3 FTW because of the simple to mod wireless sticks.

Ordered 1 for the 360. This is actually a pretty good deal for a game I know nothing about. I'm sick of special editions constantly going up in price. The artbook helped make my decision though. When it was OOS last time, it made me want the game more.
