~HORI CASES STINK~

The 'compact' case is a bulky fruity looking manpurse. I imported one for 15 and waited for a week and a half for the highly reviewed case and was REALLY upset when it arrived in the mail. It makes the ds Light seem like some kind of bulky mini laptop. I had to stuff it into my pants and it made me sweat a ton because the material is insulating. Everyone laughs when they see it. It is made out of a soft thick material that attracts dirt like a magnet and doesn't really protect anything with the flimsy material it is made of.

A BETTER BUY
I went to craptastic FYE to see if they had any slim ds light cases and found the perfect

-ALS Industries : NDSL 80 case-

VERY SLIM and sturdy. Fits in my pants easily or clip to belt. Has useless ds playthrough plastic that I cut off. Has a carbinger clip and can hold like 9ds games nicely in a seperate outside pouch (more if you want really). Only problem is that FYE never has many in stock and they only usually have hot pink..... I'd buy that over the HORI CRAP cases. I waited three weeks untill i found a beautifull navy blue one. I feel fullfiled somehow.... I am a loser I know.
 
After you do your order and if all games are currently released, try to call Best Buy's online department on their help page. They will adjust the pricing.

Looks like Mario 3 on 3 is kinda a bust too. Kinda sucks, so I guess I will put this tempting offer on hold till Mario vs. DK is released and hopefully that will be good.

I just got an email from BB with "Update on your BestBuy.com pre-order" as the subject. I figured it was to inform me that they had cancelled my pre-order of 3 Zeldas, but it was actually just to say that the release date was changed to 01/31/2007 (which is probably still wrong, but okay). Maybe they will honor the deal afterall.
 
I'm buying the new Super Mario Bros. and Mario and Luigi no matter what, but I'm still deciding on a third game.

I would get kirby canvas curse but they don't have it on the website (I REALLY need to pick up that game sometime, maybe I'll do it later this year) so instead my choices seem to be Animal Crossing, Mario 64, and Mario Kart DS. I'm thinking I'll go with Animal Crossing. I like Mario 64 but I don't feel like playing it without an analog stick and I'm not a huge Mario Kart fan (I love the multiplayer battles but that doesn't even go online).

My local best buy just sold out of Mario and Luigi and Animal Crossing so I can't pick up in store though.
 
Canvas curse just dropped to $19.99, so that probably wouldn't be a good choice anyway. I played through all of Mario 64DS using the "thumb strap" attachment and it works pretty well once you get used to it. It's a real kick to see it on a portable machine if you played it when it was new on the Nintendo 64.

Does anyone know if its possible to select three games for instore pickup, then exchange them at a later date for other titles instore?

I got cock blocked at BB with the print out thinking they would honor their site like they said they would. Then they read the part of the print out where its valid only on the site and not in store. DENIED.
 
What is the number to their online department? I tried call 1-888-BEST-BUY and it sounded like someone from India who did'nt know what the heck I was talking about. She said she would forward the problem to the "research department" and I might get a refund on the 3rd game. I want my free star wars!!
 
... I've tried a number of different combos of games, and I just can't get /any/ combination of in stock games to work with this.

Eh. I shouldn't be spending the money anyway, and it just isn't worth the time and effort.

I thought this deal ended tomorrow? M vs. DK comes out later this month. Did they extend this deal?

Crap, I placed the order and then tried to get the discount. I'm going to print out the offer and bring it to best buy and see if they will honer it in store when I pick up my stuff. If not, I'll cancel and try again with a phone order.
 
I don't see how they could possibly honor it when picking up the games, since they don't charge you or anything, and I don't think they have the capability to alter the prices.
 
I ordered Harvest Moon, Pokemon, Zelda early in the sale. I just got a notice that HM shipped, and it was the free one! They seem to be honoring the deal for the early orders that went through.
 
Was there ever a definitive answer on whether or not I could take in one of the games to Best Buy with the packing slip and exchange it for another game?

How about just trying to exchange 1 game without the receipt. Do a google search on Best Buy return policy and you will see that people are reporting Best Buy will let you return/exchange items without a receipt but they take your DL # or some other form of identification and will not let you do it more than 3 times. This is in opposition to what their formal return policy says, i.e. that they always need a receipt. It's worth a shot.

I got 2 StarFox + Tetris and plan to try and exchange one of the StarFox for Mario v. DK2. I picked up instore and the StarFox I got has a big Best Buy $29.99 price tag with bar code on it. I'm having a hard time believing they won't let me exchange it for a game of the same price without the receipt, but we will see in a few weeks. If they won't let me do it I'll just eBay it.

Yeah, I couldn't get it to work either. However, I figure since we still have a little under 3 weeks before it expires (as I noted earlier), we should be okay.

I plan to get Mega Man ZX, Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2, and something else, Starfox or maybe Mario 3 on 3.

Wait so when does this expire? I was looking to get mega man z, mario hoops but there is nothing else i want since i bought Star fox already.

I tried calling and talked to the supervisor in charge and he said couldn't put the deal through since certain DS games are excluded. He then gave me a case number, which will probley do nothing.

I guess I'll call back in a couple of hours and hopefully I'll talk to someone different.

I had no luck tonight at all. The rep I spoke to said she wasn't aware of the deal. Very frustrating.
 
Without going into specifics considering the schitt-storm that my other thread became, I'll just pass on what the woman on the phone told me:

This deal will only work on games that were out BEFORE the deal started. I'm pretty sure it started on the second or third of this month. That means no Mario Hoops, no MMZX, no Cooking Mama, no preorders, etc. It's true that this stipulation is not in the offer details, and is apparently not printed anywhere publically, but that's how the deal works according to whatever internal memo this phone rep was reading to me. So it's not an error that you can't get some games to work with it. It IS an error on Best Buy's part that the documentation for the deal is so frustratingly poor.

Also, I'm pretty sure the deal ends on the 15th, as in tomorrow. Well... technically I guess it's today. The page on the Nintendo site states the 15th, and the BB site of course states no date. There's a thing on the Best Buy page that says "ends 9/30/06," but that pertains to the "HD Done Right Sweepstakes," not the B2G1 offer.

On http://www.nintendo.com/bestbuyds/, it says it ends 9/30/06.
 
And it also says the 30th if you click "See offer details" on the Best Buy site through MyNintendo link and it applies to THIS deal, not the HD Done Right of whatever.

This memo dosen't make any sense since the deal started the first week of september 1st and was suppose to run untill the 15th, games like madden 07 and star fox which came out after the deal started are currently working now.

Best Buy is commiting fraud by saying that all ds games were suppose to be part of the deal and are now going back on their word. I'm gonna go and contact comsumer affairs since what Best Buy is doing is illegal and unfair to the consumers.
 
Looks like they are updating the DS section of Bestbuy.com right now. Hopefully they are trying to fix this thing. Going to try again when it is back up and running.
 
I'll try to price match at CC later today on this. If it doesn't work, I'll visit Best Buy with the ads printed out and have them worry about it at the CS desk.
 
I just ordered Mario and Luigi, new Super Mario Bros., and Animal Crossing Wild World. Came out to $74.88, and for some reason I'm excited to play Animal Crossing even though I have it for the gamecube.
 
Man I called the 1800 besbuy and they couldnt help me with the order because they want to know where the offer comes from , but then they said it cannot be located through the link that it showed in best buy so someone help?

I had to call and talk to customer service, not the online people to get megaman, just the general complaint department.

Be nice, order in stock games, and they should transfer you. took 3 hours of calls, but hey who works on a friday afternoon anyhow. The CS rep, placed the order for me.

P.S. they have a person dedicated to this problem if you can find them... She's talking to me right now and said she's been doing this all week.
