Wow, this is one of my favorite CAG deals yet. Thanks OP. :)

By the way, what's the shipping situation like? On games that ship seperately, do they treat it as a different order, or the shipping inclusive?

Yeah, does Best Buy have a 10% off online Labor Day sale? I know they sent out coupons via snail mail but they were only B&M, I think.

I wondered the same thing, which is why I called Best Buy. Half a page or so up you'll see my post, but here's what I wrote:

"I called Best Buy to find out the answer to my question. If you preorder three different games that come out at different times, you'll have three different packages shipped to you."

Hope that helps.

Dunno' how I missed that. Thanks.

And I ended up getting Mario Kart DS, Mario & Luigi: PiT and Animal Crossing. Is Animal Crossing improved on the GC version? I haven't played it yet (since I don't have it). :p

I really wanted Tetris DS but then I thought, "That's $5 I'd be throwing down the drain!" Soooo cheap. If I can scrounge some more money before the sale ends (and if you can place a second order) I'll get Tetris DS, Nintendogs and Super Mario 64 DS or AoE.

As a DS nut, I really love this sale. :)
can any one share th eonline 10% coupon?
It's applied automatically if you got the email. If you didn't get an email, you won't be able to get the discount.

I just got done doing this. I actually did it twice with two different names. I got:

Pokemon Ranger
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon
Zelda
for 75.82

Harvest Moon
Mario 3-on-3
Mario vs. DK 2
for 70.47

Some may say a lot of games. Yes, but I have a little brother who loves his DS just as much as his big brother. Christmas may still be months away, but what 8 year old knows release dates anyway.

I called BestBuy.com and they said that the pre-ordered games (all of them) would ship on the day each of them came in. So I will get Mario 3-on-3, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon on 9/12, etc.

Got it working. Thanks !!!

Is there any way to get this email? Say, by signing up for a Best Buy newsletter or something?

I ordered Mario Kart DS, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, and Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. I had the 10% off email, so I used that as well. The way they showed up in my cart, it appeared that I was paying for Mario Kart and Zelda, and getting Mario & Luigi for free. So I'm wondering if I'll only get charged for one game now.

I tried Mario Versus Donkey Kong 2 again and it still dosen't work-either it's giving different results to different people, or the people who said they got it working were mistaken.

tototheexplorer, it sounds like you already played the Gamecube version of Animal Crossing?

If so, I can't recommend it. I enjoyed Animal Crossing on the Gamecube quite a bit, but eventualy I really saw and did everything I cared to do in that game (and I'm burned out on that "type" of game in general I think). I tried to get into Animal Crossing: Wide World, but it's really just the same thing again. Minor differences, but not enough if you already had your fill of the original.

If I'm misunderstanding and you've never played the Gamecube one, it's worth trying if it sounds interesting to you, and the portable format is perfectc for it! I played the first one every day for months...but I can't ever go through the same thing again, even if it has been a few years.

Thanks for the feedback; it's much appreciated. I played the original almost every single day for over a year. I have taken a long (two years?) Animal Crossing hiatus so I have a feeling I'm going to fall in love all over again. :)

P.S. - My name is derivative of Totakeke and an inside joke.

I just called Best Buy to explain the Star Fox problem and the lady told me that it was an in-store promotion. Good luck figuring THAT one out.

huh?
exactly.

Just to clarify, you DO NOT need to register SHIT at Nintendo. As long as your a member, you can get the coupon. I registered at Nintendo and never registered any DS systems or games, and I got the coupon to work with the Best Buy deal.

This is a pretty good deal but their online selection is weak...I wonder if I could order a game and then exchange it in store...

I don't know how you or some other people got these to work. I've tried these exact same games and the discount isn't applied. I would really like to get Mario vs. DK 2, Zelda, and Mario & Luigi to work.

It probably has to do with the "order" you select the games. Maybe a game like Zelda doesn't count as the $35 game, but instead it counts as the "free game." So maybe the order it is added to the cart is the difference?

I don't think so. I've tried adding the items to the cart in a few different ways and I've never been able to get either of those orders to show the discount. This is so weird that some people are able to get the discount and others aren't

Couldn't get it to work at all.

I logged into Nintendo and got the offer screen. Went to Best Buy through the link, and tried to buy Zelda, Super Princess Peach, and Metroid Prime Hunters.

No deal.

Tried again, with Zelda and the two pre-order Pokemons.

No deal.

Tried in Opera instead of Firefox.

No deal.

Guess I really didn't need to spend the money...

Sometimes it didn't work for me (FireFox user). So I clicked again on the Mynintendo link and it worked. I guess BestBuy cart need some fix.

My working cart is: New Super Mario, Age of Empires, Mario&Luigi.

Anyway $27 for each game is not so good. Shipping and tax kill the deal :bomb:.

nothin' worked for me, either. i'm signed up for both, gobs of Nintendo games registered, tried several times, nothing. maybe it's a sign -- stop buying so many games!

Try my cart ;) .

You might be right LOL .

Well, this is disappointing. The first promotion from Nintendo since I registered, and there's nothing I need. I certainly could find three games, but it's wasteful. The only good picks I've found so far are Lost Magic and Mage Knight, and I was planning to wait for both of those to get cheaper. Phantom Hourglass would be a worthwhile addition, but I don't feel the need to give Best Buy a $35 interest free loan for the next 6 months.

I may look at ordering three games with the intent to return one of them for a GBA game.

I hope you fuckers appreaciate the work I put into this.

There has to be a "glitch" where some games aren't being considered for the B2G1 even though the deal is for all DS games. I put Zelda: PH, Super Princess Peach, and NSMB in the cart and it gave me a game for free. Switching NSMB for Star Fox Command or Mario Hoops DID NOT give me the free game. Also trying to switch Zelda: PH with Castlevania: PoR did not give me the free game. This combined with a few more experiments, and information taken from a few posts in this thread lead me to believe the following:

Zelda: OoT, Harvest Moon DS, Pokemon Ranger, Pokemon Mystery, Lego Star Wars, Mage Knight are the only "pre-orders" that will let the B2G1 free activate. *Edited* (credit given to everyone who posted on this thread, lol too many to name).

The newest titles like Star Fox Command do not activate the deal when you put it in the cart.

Just about all of the older games like Metroid Prime Hunters, Mario Kart DS, etc. will activate the B2G1 free deal.

I've even tried the following:

I added Zelda: PH, Castlevania: PoR, Mario Kart DS, and Princess Peach to my cart, meaning FOUR GAMES. Peach showed up as free. I tried removing Peach (hoping it would trick the system into transferring the free game) but it didn't, they all had a price of $35 instead of one gaming having $0.00.

I know what you mean. Buying 4 DS games at the $8.96 Circuit City deal and getting 5 games with the $20 off Overstock glitch has given my library a total of 17 must-have games. The only others I need to "complete" my collection are Meteos (which I'll pick up at Sears for $7), Big Brain Academy (which is only $20) Electroplankton (have to pay full retail at Nintendo World Store) and Castlevania: DoS (at my TRU there are 7 copies but they are all $35).

Sometimes buying mass games at cheap prices (thanks to so many CAG deals) literally takes the fun out of buying new games because there is nothing left for me.

The restrictions are wierd for this B2G1F... Since Star Fox didn't work, I just ended up buying it for $25 (after GGC).

Picked up NEW Mario, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, all for friends.
I hope you fuckers appreaciate the work I put into this.
i might, if you didn't just call everyone f*ckers. i'm not sure if that was sarcastic (i assume it was), but it still doesn't sound very nice.

IceCubed, if hope you don't choose to pay full retail for Elektroplankton. In case you're not aware, you can't save the music you create, which makes it practically pointless, except for just messing around with.

somebody may have pointed this out already, but for me it only allows one of the games to be a preorder. the preorder comes up as the free game unless there is a cheaper game, and then that one was free. I could be wrong though, but that seemed to be the pattern for the games I put in my cart.
i might, if you didn't just call everyone f*ckers. i'm not sure if that was sarcastic (i assume it was), but it still doesn't sound very nice.
Complete sarcasm, fucker. :bouncy::D I can't help it, that Shaq-Fu makes me laugh uncontrollably.

Yeah but I hate buying used games. And I can "stomach" paying full retail for Electroplankton just because its a limited rare release. I know you can't save the music, but it seems like such a cool game to fuck around with. BTW, thanks to various CAG deals like the $8.96 CC sale and the $20 Overstock glitch, of my 17 brand new games, I only averaged $15.97 per game, so I make exceptions for a few games at retail price (like the harder to find games like Phoenix Wright, Dawn of Sorrow, Electroplankton, Trauma Center).

What happens if you choose store pick up for 2 of the games? and the other 1 is a pre order. Can you go pick up the 2 and they will send the pre ordered game to you still?

That is what I did. It seemed to work OK online. I wasn't charged shipping for the 2 I'm picking up, and was charged $1.99 for the preorder's shipping. However, I ordered last night and still haven't gotten the email containing the details about how to pick up the other two games. I called and supposedly they're still checking if they're in stock. Like that takes all day... So we'll see.

From what I'm reading the offer is not good for in store pickup, but then again I could be wrong. Hope you get your games :)

well, if you're in to that sort of thing (which i am), you can always hook EP up to your PC or hard disk recorder and grab the loops or samples that you want, edit them and play them back thru a synth or your PC. i agree that it's lame you can't save your settings to listen to the same loops later, but i LOVE this title. it's so nice to just pop it in, tweak the plankton a little bit and relax to the "gloops" and "dings". in a way, it's kinda like a "real" instrument; i can't save on my guitar, after all.

Luckily, you are wrong. I did just what this poster was asking about -- 2 in-store pickups (Animal Crossing and New SMB) and one preorder (Zelda). I got the confirmation email for all 3. BTW I never did get a "come get it" email... i called the local store and they just said come by the customer service counter. So I go grab the 2 games myself, take it to customer service along with my credit card and the order confirm #, and walked out with my 2 games. I have no reason not to expect Zelda to arrive by mail when it comes out....

not working

prefer to get pokemon blue rescue, mario hoops, and phantom hourglass

i clicked the link through nintendo(while i was logged in there), added items at bestbuy, then checked the cart and it has the total of the 3 games
