I know you are pissed..I feel ya there. I have been there myself even over the last couple of days. I can agree to some extent on 'numbers not meaning shit', but I disagree on timing and playcalling. The other factor is also execution. I know Madden can pull some insane acrobatic bullshit with their defenders..so I need to call the plays that will minimize it and make the decisions on the field to minimize it. I still

up and throw stuff I shouldn't. You just got to separate 'football sense' and 'Madden sense'.
It's not a secret to anyone who has played me - I play a short field and try to control it as much as possible. I will be really surprised if I keep winning as I don't have big money plays. And when I am not on my game, I lose hard. But I do know where all my receivers will be on pass plays I use a lot. I know where they will be on the field one second, two seconds and three seconds into a play. I know where they will be if they are bumped off the line. I also know if I throw a pass over the middle, there better be no LB in the middle, or its getting picked. I know that. If I force it, I am putting myself in the hands of Madden (or the defender if they user him). If there is, I have to know the timing of the WR so I can squeeze it before he hits the middle or after. If there are defenders there too, I have to go somewhere else or sometimes I will just eat a coverage sack rather than risking a throw. You said you saw the DB there, but knowing Madden, you probably made a throw that made football sense and not Madden sense.
As much as that might be true, it makes for one boring ass game. This is why 95% of the people in the other league rush for 300 yards a game. Or, it's the reason that people will only throw to their HBs most of the game...which doc actually did a lot...not blaming him. He's just "learned how to play Madden 12". It's how you "get good" at this game. It just kinda disgusts me that you have to resort to that because throwing downfield is basically a crapshoot unless someone is retardedly wide open.
On the play in question, he was in a zone. I knew there were gaps in it. I was trying to time the gaps. Honestly, watching the replay, Colston suddenly breaks more back than across right as I'm starting to throw the ball. What I envisioned him doing was cutting across and getting to the other side of Cook by the time the ball got there. Even so, it was one of those plays where the receiver is 5+ yards behind the defender and there's plenty of room to get the ball in there...but not in Madden 12.
I'm not saying shit you don't know. I have played you and you play well. If you're anything like me, you

ing collapse when something like that happens. You just might not be shaking it off for the next game because you are a bit burnt out. I really hope it improves for you though..you are a big part of the league (not just because you are the commish either).
Just to let you know, I have wanted to post that very

ing rant in the other league after a loss where I felt I was robbed (I wasn't, the other player played well and deserved to win too). So I get it man and am not trying to disagree with you as much as to try to point out positives that you know can be in your control once the black cloud leaves after awhile.
I'm just at the point with this game where I got to with the last Madden I bought (Madden 10). I can't possibly play the game any more than I have the past 3 months. I have 100 ranked games under my belt (where I'm actually like 10 games over .500 somehow). I play this game more than any other game, and this kind of shit still happens. I can't put in more time "practicing", so this is basically as good as I'm going to get. From this point forward, I'm basically going to just be playing to play. But there's no way I can keep putting the same amount of effort into it.
There was nothing wrong with the way I played this last game. My run defense was actually much improved from the past few games where guys lit me up. I called the right plays to stop AP. Most of his yards came off broken tackles (which is also pretty arbitrary). I didn't have any huge coverage lapses. doc really had no huge offensive plays (I had more passing and rushing yards yet again). The game literally came down to those turnovers/non-turnovers. And I'll stand by my statement that the game screwed me there. doc wasn't better than me and I wasn't better than him. The game just went his way. We may as well have played rock, paper, scissors.
