CAG League Sports: Madden 12 "JV League" - We Finished 3 Seasons! Thanks Everybody!!!
Haha I'm the TEXANS dude!

Edit: sorry didnt see the correction after the post. IM THE IDIOT HERE! Lol
hehe, nah, I just had a massive brainfart. I was playing a match online when I was typing it and just didn't type what I meant.
I need someone to sub for Minnesota for this week. It might be fair for Yanksfan to do it since I subbed against him, despite the fact that the records were nowhere close. Also, it's Carolina vs. Tampa this week. Is Tanabeo not Carolina anymore?
I have no problem subbing. I am free for quite a bit of tomorrow actually, especially in the morning. I am playing Doc @ 9AM CST (10am EST for me), so I could do either a game before or after that quite easily.

Well, what I was going to suggest is if docb would be interested in taking on the Vikings as his secondary team (since he had the Eagles, and they got picked up). The Vikings aren't on the Texans schedule so that would be a good fit. I doubt he would mind if Yanksfan played this game, but just something to think about moving forward.
Did Vick get hurt dude?
NO he just wasnt leading the recievers good so i switched in the 4th ,vick will be on the block . i cant stand left handed qbs.young has a faster release so it helps a little but yeah vick is up for trade .

Texans - 17
Falcons - 10

Doc absolutely destroyed me..I could not make any adjustments to his game and he made tons right away to mine. Anytime I would make a mistake, he would make me pay for it.

The player of the game has to be Cedric Benson. He never broke off a big run, but never was really stuffed either. He was incredibly consistent, kept the clock moving for the Texans and was a big reason for this victory.

The key to the game though was Doc. Brilliant playcalling, mixed it up well, and as soon as he became a little predictable, he would change everything up, both offensively and defensively. I could not do the same, and was just outcoached from start to finish.

Great game Doc, you deserved the win.

Thanks Matt. Not gonna lie I was scared to play you in a honesty with your record and so forth. I've been practicing quite a bit on reading offenses and adjusting to certain defensive schemes. I've never been a big runner because frankly I suck at it as you said I never broke anything over I think 12 or 13. My passing has always been good in my opinion and never really actually saw the PA work so well. GREAT game man!

Lions - 28
Saints - 20

Ugh, New Orleans choked this one away. Not to take anything away from Blade. As expected, he ran all over my. My defense can't tackle for shit, and even when I shift my LBs to one side and call for that side to blitz, they still get beat to the fucking sideline.

What really killed me was turnovers though. Two fucking fumbles and an INT. The Lions really just had two quick scoring flurries. 14 points in the 1st quarter to go up 14-0, and then 14 points in the 4th, to take a 28-17 lead. The scores in the 4th were critical though as I almost had the game in hand, up 17-14 driving deep into Detroit territory when Brees threw a pick at the goalline. The Lions went ahead on the ensuing drive, and then as I was trying to rally, in the process of converting a 4th and 6, my WR fucking fumbles the ball like a cocksucker and Detroit returns it for a TD.

I really hate fumbles. They're too random and don't really have any indication of a "good hit"...nor seem to have any relation to the players carry rating. I've seen guys with 75 carry ratings get absolutely destroyed and they hold onto the ball. Then guys with 93 carry ratings get bumped and throw the ball up in the air. Didn't help that from the 2nd quarter on I was having to try to coax a baby back to sleep while playing (which is why I kept pausing and fucked up that possession at the end of the 1st half). Am I making excuses? Yes, yes I am. Does it make me feel better? Not really. gg, Blade...and fuck you, lol j/k. ;)

EDIT - Whew...CAG wouldn't load for a second. I thought SOPA shut it down because I used the fuck logo too many times in my post. Crisis averted.

I started the game off big with 2 long runs with both Morris and Best for quick touchdowns. I decided to switch things up and try some different plays and to pass the ball some as my run game started getting shutdown. That did not work well as Stafford went 0-4, at least 1 sack and I believe at least 2 were dropped passes. I was wondering what you were doing at the end of the 2nd quarter, and why you didnt at least try for a FG. I almost called a timeout but decided against it. In the 4th quarter a went back to my straight run game and it worked out. As well as my defense coming up really big throughout the entire game when I really needed it. Overall, I could not stop your passing game for the life of me so I believe the turnovers were huge in this game. Kept it really close through most of the game. I really screwed up when I was doing the hurry up, and then all of a sudden it was 4th and 1, I was pretty pissed I wasn't paying attention to that.

It was a great game, I was really nervous going into the 4th quarter.

Hopefully after one more week Vilma will come back and make a huge impact on my defense. I traded for him, and I think after 2 weeks he got a broken collarbone. He has 2 weeks left.

I almost feel like I should just trade Stafford away and beef up my defense more lol. He doesn't do anything for me...

Also, I know the feeling with the fumbles, in my 27-0 loss to the Falcons I believe I had at least 3.
I just won a ranked game becaus my opponent was kicked for "excessive grieving?!"

WTF IS THAT?
From what I have gathered, they were either trying to intentionally lag the game and were caught doing so, or they were playing consistently ridiculous football (like going for it on 4th and 30 from their own 15). I have seen both of those explanations given in the past.

As for the Lions-Saints matchup, sounds like a helluva game. I really wish they would add in an audience mode already, especially for online leagues.

Yea he was doing that playing like an idiot. Going for it and trying insides and shit! Pissed me off!

I have been wanting this feature too. So many games I wish I could have watched.

Rams 27
49ers 20

St. Louis outlasts San Francisco in this NFC West contest.

After giving up a fumble recovery for a touchdown on its first possession, the Rams offense had to work for every yard against this aggressive 49er defense. Sam Bradford was 6-of-8 for 175 yards and no touchdowns. Steven Jackson carried the ball 16 times for 112 yards and 1 TD.

San Francisco kept it close all game and converted some key fourth downs in the third quarter. However, with less than a minute to play and down by 7, the 49ers fumbled the kickoff return, which enabled the Rams to run out the clock.

GG G33. You did a nice job changing your defense and forcing me to do other things. I also tried to spread the ball around a little more, which hopefully will help me get better in the future.
I'll take the Vikes...whatever to help the league out!
Awesome. Thanks for being willing to help out, man. That gives us a person for each team again. Hopefully we can stay this way for at least a little while.

Remaining games for this week:

Bengals vs Steelers (???)
Panthers vs Buccaneers (Tanabeo made a post a few days ago about knowing someone who might want to join this league, but never answered my question if he's even still in this league. Probably need a sub here)
Broncos vs Vikings (Viking's are docb's new secondary team, but I know Yanksfan offered to sub as well. Either way is fine with me. Let's just get it done)
Cowboys vs Cardinals (DVO...where are you?)

GG. I'm looking forward to the rematch, where I can hopefully limit those huge plays the second time around, after it finally clicked in the 3rd quarter on how I'm supposed to stop those. I think I gave up 200-250 yards on those 4-5 blown coverage plays alone.

I'm playing with the Vikings tonite around 7pm CST. Got the pm this morning from my oppo.

Edit: pending the Owner of the Broncos response of course but assuming because he Stated he wanted it today if at all possible so we could advance.

Yeah, you figured it out really well. I am hoping to have my new offense installed by the time we meet again!

The Bengals are my secondary team. I can play it, but not until later on tonight (11 p.m. EST). If someone can sub, that would be awesome. Never did hear from X Matt Young X about doing it, though.

And I never heard from you, just so Nate's aware. Also, as I said in the thread for the other league:

Sorry I haven't been too active over these past few days. I had hockey games Thursday/Friday/Saturday and then had to take my 14 year old dog to the vet and she had to be put to sleep today. I should be resuming a normal schedule starting tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your dog. I wasn't trying to insinuate that you were hard to reach -- just that we hadn't tried setting anything up. Didn't mean to offend.

If you want, we can go tonight.
Doc, I'm finishing up my other league game. I'll be with you as soon as its done.
Oh my bad dude! I checked your gamer card to see of you were in a game and it was blank. I'll here waiting no worries. Haha I must have sent like 5 invites.

Sorry to hear about your dog, Matt. That sucks, dude. Your first sentence raises an interesting point that I just want to address real quick. In general, I'm an advocate for the "communication is a two way street" mentality. HOWEVER, when we're dealing with one person's primary team vs. another person's secondary team, I think the burden of contact should fall on the primary team.

Now, I don't think that really applies to this case because you had some personal stuff going on, and I think everyone understands that, and that obviously trumps everything. I just wanted to comment on it for anyone's future benefit. After all, had the Bengals been matched up with say the Jets or the Raiders, the game would have been simmed anyway.

The Panthers vs. Bucs game IS a good example of this though. Tanabeo hasn't really been very active in the league lately, and Kaster heard nothing from him about the game. Since the Bucs are his secondary team, he doesn't really need to care about the game, and even suggested a sim. If the owner of the primary team doesn't care to play, it's not Kaster's problem (again, your game isn't the same situation, Matt. Just wanted to clarify). Just something for everyone to keep in mind moving forward.

All right, we have advanced to Week 14! Games are due by 1/27!

Week 13 Summary

Power Rankings
1. St. Louis Rams
2. Atlanta Falcons
3. Denver Broncos
4. Kansas City Chiefs
5. New York Jets

Offensive Player of the Week
Ricky Williams - 20 att, 202 yds, 4 TDs

Defensive Player of the Week
Bernard Pollard - 5 tackles, 2 INTs, 1 FF

Looks like the myleaguemanager.net site has gotten a bit of a facelift. It looks better, and seems to run quicker too (though that could be a placebo from the new look). Judging by the choice for DPotW, dare I even say they may have reworked the formula (putting less emphasis on tackles). All good things! :)

Thanks for the clarification, and I concur. It always takes a little searching to determine whether my secondary team has a game that actually needs to be played, so it would help a great deal if primary teams hold the responsibility of first contact.

Lyric, Just messaged ya bro. Texans v Bengals....ITS ON! HAHA.
Also I agree with Lyric, (If I understand what you are saying). I beleive it should be on the primary team to reach out to seconday owners for games.
What is the pass for the myleague site again?
I didn't think there was a password for it. Maybe I'm misremembering, but I thought individual members could sign up if they wanted, but it wasn't required to view stats, standings, etc.
Alright pmed n8. And I think I am playing KasterDB again, this time as the Bears. So let me know when you're available Kaster.
Got your message. 9 PM EST tonight might be tough. I've mostly been getting my sleep in the evenings (usually staying up most of the night with the baby). I haven't been getting up till like 10-11 PM CST, lol. If you can't play late tonight, it might just make more sense to shoot for an afternoon time tomorrow.

Thanks for the condolences, guys. Lyric, sorry about misinterpreting what you meant. I was in a bad mood, and I've had communication issues in the other league in seasons past. Nate, I understand about primary vs. secondary. I wasn't trying to make excuses, but I felt an explanation was due. Hockey games were what took up most of my weekend, and that's on me.

EDIT: Ultimate Matt X: We play this week. What time/day is good for you? I'm most available in the afternoon (Pacific time) but I think you're on Eastern. I'll send you a PM.

Okay. I will be on in about 15 minutes.

Oh and Nate, (BTW clever just figured that out) I will be playing him, so I am ready whenever we are done. If you can't play today that's fine too.
DVO is still in the league, right? Hasn't he had his last couple games simmed? He used to post every five minutes, now he's never in here.
He's been winning a few games in the Main League (I only call it that cause this is named the JV league) and from what I can remember he has been posting pretty frequently in there.

Call that man out and get him back to the JV squad!

Edit: Yea, he posted in the 'Main League' yesterday.

Lions- 14
Vikings- 10

Finally my passing game worked a little, enough to get me the win. My defense really came through and stopped DocB in the red zone. He was driving it down field really well, I just came up big in the red zone, and got a couple of picks that made a really big difference.

Reporting on a couple of games.

Saints - 13
Titans - 10

Wow, what an amazing game! After both teams struggled offensively the whole game Matt Hassleback lead an awesome drive to tie it up and take it to overtime. It came to a last second field goal in overtime to win it for the Saints. Great Game n8!

Second game.

Bears - 28
Broncos - 25

Very close game. If it hadn't have been for the two kickoff fumbles you would have won this for sure. Great game as always Kaster.

Saints - 13
Titans - 10

Whew...this game was a freaking nailbiter. I thought I had it lost several times. Drew Brees played like complete shit, throwing 3 picks and missing receivers all over the field. And Pierre Thomas fumbled on New Orleans' first drive deep in Titans territory. The Saints defense actually played decent though, other than dropping what would have been an easy pick 6 early in the game. The Titans kicked a FG a few plays later.

Down 10-3 and faced with a 4th and 4 with :40 left in the game, Matt Hasselbeck came up with his biggest throw of the game, finding Kenny Britt in the endzone to tie things up. In OT, both teams had the ball numerous times, but couldn't do anything with it. In a battle of field position, the Saints had a shot to win it with a 56 yard field goal that clanged off the crossbar (can't believe I didn't make it with 100% power and kicking with 16 mph wind).

This gave Tennessee great field position, but with less than a minute to play, the Titans tried to move the ball downfield quickly. A costly interception gave New Orleans one last possession with :15 left. Brees found Jimmy Graham over the middle of the field at the Titans 24 yard line. After calling timeout, John Kasay had another chance to win the game, this time nailing the 41 yarder as time expired. gg, Dark Rider. I felt fortunate to contain Chris Johnson as much as I could. It seemed like he was ready to break out at any time.

Saints
Drew Brees - 9-22, 159 yds, 1 TD, 3 INTs (*blech*)
Willis McGahee - 19 att, 78 yds
Pierre Thomas - 4 att, 22 yds
Jimmy Graham - 4 rec, 95 yds, 1 TD

Titans
Matt Hasselbeck - 15-25, 82 yds, 1 TD, 3 INTs
Chris Johnson - 20 att, 90 yds
Kenny Britt - 3 rec, 36 yds, 1 TD
Jordan Babineaux - 2 tackles, 1 sack, 2 INTs
