I know this isn't necessarily the right thread for this but any familiar folks around here who may be interested in the overpriced Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, I'm forming a family group. I already have 3 people, including myself so that leaves 5 spots left. We don't have to fill all spots at once. Nobody buys games on separate accounts anymore intending to resell. Nobody wants to pony up the cost of a game to maybe get a buyer on it in the future. And the buyers are all dried up - they are either going to wait for a price drop or use a rental service instead. There's also a huge issue of trust at play so most people don't even rent stuff out anymore. Over time the buildup of all of this had people leave and never return so the pool of people to do business with on here is incredibly small now. We had a good run but people got set in their ways and are not going to really buy resells anymore unless they're mega cheap or fairly new (within 2 weeks of release). Would take a community effort to get this ball rolling again and I just unfortunately don't see it happening. At best we can get a few more people doing rentals to trusted members but I don't think many people even have anything besides old accounts as no resells have really been sold in the past 2-3 years.

FYI The subscription club is still active with a few of the old guys as members. Its 10/month with unlimited access to the library.Although i paused taking in new PS5 members due to the shortage of PS5 releases. The other option is you guys comming together on your own and  doing something similar. Single player games like Guardians of the galaxy could easily be shared amongst yourselves if managed properly i think we all know who the trustworthy guys are around here so i dont think it would be that hard. But as always nice to see you guys still around.

Sorry if my message came off in any certain way, I was mostly just continuing the discussion you guys were having not talking to anyone in specific lol

Maybe a new methodology to consider - I had a good format in the past but never put it to the test. It can still work but only if half the group is on PS4 and half on PS5 since slots aren't shared.

Person X (can be anyone): Pays 50% of cost of game up front, guaranteed both resell slots after one month

Person A: Gets game upon release for 2 weeks PS4 slot, pays 15% of game cost up front

Person B: Gets game upon release for 2 weeks PS5 slot, pays 15% of game cost up front

Person C: Gets game next 2 weeks PS4 slot, pays 10% of game cost up front

Person D: Gets game next 2 weeks PS5 slot, pays 10% of game cost up front

Person X can then either rent the slots out to recoup money, or even resell the game for more than they paid if there are people willing to buy. I think we should have a universal unofficial rule that buying and selling a resell is for both slots PS4 and PS5 - we had a lot of issues in the past splitting up ps3 and ps4 this way, plus people stealing accounts.

I would only do this with trusted vets in the group, but the resell can go to anyone I guess. No locked slot stuff, just creates problems. The host of everything on each game should be the person trusted most, and once you're locked in and paid and the game is purchased there's no backing out or there would be too many complications. Bonus points if the host lives in a state that doesn't pay tax. Taxes will have to be divided up otherwise.

Everyone would come out ahead and get to play what they want for cheap, and would create more games available to all. Those who can afford to wait can get games within a month at half price. Getting 5 people to fit in this format would be a little tough, but for those games that are really must plays, I think we would have the numbers

Changed mine twice, once on two accounts with no issues whatsoever. I think it depends on the game, the more niche/outdated the title is the more likely it may cause a problem. Not 100% sure though, so YMMV.

Works the same exact way as PS4. So long as you are signed directly into your main account, and she has it activated as primary on her system, she can use those games on any other user. Only thing to note is you cannot both be signed into your account at the same time (tell her to play on her own acct), and your games will not work if you lose connection to the internet (they might work for a few hours but will eventually lock if not reconnected)

For the cost of what it would take to rent a game that long, you're better off just upping your sub lol. Only way to really rent anything nowdays is if QD has it. Gamesharing is dead, nobody buys games to loan anymore unfortunately. Or if they do, they ain't here
