Same. Past 3 or so years it's just been dead in here though, there's like zero care for anyone to sell resells or gameshare anymore. And recently some ahole wrecked the entire library of the one guy who was keeping things alive - they deserve true torture. Greed from scammers and thieves (absolute peasant scum) killed this whole great thing we had going. Pisses me off. Especially considering with PS5 now there's ways to do multiple slots again and just nobody cares or has moved on. That trust will never be there again like we used to have it, nor should it. Also gotta put some blame on Sony for doing the mass reset and killing off significant amount of PS3 accounts that seem to just be unrecoverable.

Anyone who is still buying digital, I don't see the point of buying it on your main account instead of on a separate one that you could resell, given the way licenses work. We should definitely have resells being sold left and right and I don't know why we don't honestly. Personally I split games with friends on our mains and that's why I don't have resells, but I can't imagine everyone is in that situation. Given how stingy most PSN sales are there is money to be made by resellers, and money to be saved by buyers. It's a win/win.

Such a shame though, nothing will ever come close to the level of affordability we used to have, despite it all still being doable within Sony's current system. We had a golden age and idiots ruined it. We'll never have it again. Glad to still see some faces check in here and there though

In addition to those factors, I think a big part of it is that the PlayStation landscape and CAG demographics have changed in a way that reduces demand for gamesharing.

I was a regular in the old thread back in about 2011-2012.  Back then, PSN had barely any decent discounts, PS+'s library was still small, and GamePass didn't exist, so digital console gaming could be pretty expensive unless you gameshared.  You can still save a lot gamesharing new releases nowadays, but once a game's been out for a few months and its price starts dropping, the incentive to jump through the GS hoops isn't there as much.  I used to browse here for random smaller/older games to try out too, but now PS+ offers hundreds of those to try out instantly, so I suppose that draw isn't as strong anymore.

And then the shift in demographics.  Younger generations aren't using message boards like this one much anymore, so I think it's fair to say CAG's userbase is largely 30+ now, many settled into careers, raising families, etc. and finding we have more money for games than time to play them (instead of the other way around).  Alas, once a CAG always a CAG, so we keep coming back to make sure we don't miss out on the next great deal.. :)

The PS3 era of gamesharing on this site was a time to be alive. We all are cheap asses, but back then some of us were straight up broke. Yet we never had to worry about missing out on the latest releases because this place made it extremely affordable (especially in the 5 slot days, being able to get a $60 game for as cheap as $12!) I'd take the old CAG gamesharing ways over any kind of subscription service that's available these days. I still visit this thread every few days/weeks and will continue to do so as long as it exists.

What's silly is that you can still do 3 slots. 2 activation slot (one on PS4, one on PS5) and 1 locked slot. Technically could do 2 locked spots (one for PS4 and one for PS5) but they can't play at the same time which would cause issues. Could absolutely do like a 40%/40%/20% split on a $70 game. Rentals were just easier though, and I wonder how much that played into people stop buying/reselling games. Way easier to just rent. But now even that's seemingly gone. Maybe we did this to ourselves lol. The real problem though is there aren't any trustworthy users anymore. I've just found IRL friends to split 50/50 with and share mains with at this point. Absolutely sucks to have so many trustworthy people here just move on from gaming. Even that library I ran at one point, I was SUPER careful with who I let in and we still ended up losing access to many of those accounts. Don't know if I can ever fully trust anyone after that experience.

At the very least, many of us got to experience so many games we wouldn't have otherwise. Cheers to that.

How's it going brother? I randomly got nostalgic and came here trying to think of ways to stir up a conversation in this thread and it looks like it's been done already. I'm not gonna lie, I miss talking to you all, wheeling and dealing back around 2013 when I first came here was awesome! I've been trying to slow my role lately and stop posting at Mach speed while simultaneously making a fool of myself (gets easier with age) haha. Albani, I'm that Rogue guy if you didn't catch on. We can talk about stuff more in PM's if you are up for it - a lot has happened since we last spoke.

Glad to see that you guys still share the same idea or feeling about this place. I hardly check this site anymore, but I'm still happy it's around. And one last thing: You guys rock.

I honestly don’t buy a lot of games on here anymore either, a big reason for that is I don’t have opportunity to try things I would have bought a share of previously to test out. I pretty much buy a card every so often and redeem it into my account where it usually stays and collects dust until something I want comes out. Probably complicates things too, that I now have all 3 consoles lol
 
So awesome to see people still in this thread. I myself stepped away for MANY years from this site and oddly enough got pulled back in wondering whatever happened to the sharing thread :). With new games like COD, God Of War, and callisto Protocol I wouldn't be surprised if we see a lot more activity in here :)

Some idiot he rented to did something stupid and a lot of his accounts got the axe from Sony. He went dark after that. He will always be the godfather of this community IMO. Reach out and support him if you guys can. He helped keep affordable gaming alive for us when the resell situation dropped off a cliff.

Hey Fellas, long time. Sad to know about QDizzle situation.

I wanted to ask about the gamesharing for PS4 and PS5, I made a group for Forbidden West and we were able to play both, PS4 and PS5 secondaries at the same time.

But we did the same with GoW Ragnarok, and it seems secondaries can no longer play at the same time. At least from my preliminary testing.

I wanted to know if someone has some knowledge about this situation.

You can have two people logged into the same user, but you can only have one game being played on any account at any time. If you're playing X on PS4/5 and someone logs into the acct and starts Y on PS4/5, it'll kick the first user off. If you're saying this is how HZD worked for you, it was a fluke and IDK how you pulled it off, shouldn't be possible. Doesn't matter if it's a combination of PS4 and 5 either, one game per account can run at any time that's it.

If by secondary slot you mean going to activate it as primary or whatever in the acct settings so that any user on that console can play it, that shouldn't be an issue to have one person on PS4 playing and one on PS5. Each account has one slot allocated to PS4 and one to PS5. In that situation, you can both be activated as primary and go back on your main accounts and each play. If this is what you meant when you played Horizon and now GoW is not working, you're doing something wrong.

The proper way to split games now is essentially having one PS4 slot, one PS5 slot (both activated as primary and you go on your mains and play), and if you're really trying to cheap out you can let someone log in the account itself and play on the account.

Been so long I forgot the terminology we use but that's the gist of it. I could be wrong but I think we called the second situation a resell slot and the first situation a primary slot. So "secondary" threw me off.

Hey there Pravado, thanks for the answer. Sorry for the weird terminology I am using, it is actually an Spanish translation from "secundario", it means the user who does not activate their console. So they need to play from the account where the game was bought. I also think they were called "resells" here. The primaries slots are safe, because they don't need to log to the account were the game was bought.

For HFW the difference was that it was the Deluxe Edition, but I am pretty sure we were able to play 4 people at the same time. However we will be doing more testing and report anything we find.

In a side note, maybe you could think that it is a very cheap strategy, but we are in a Country with a terrible exchange rate, nowadays our currency it is worth 1/5000 one USD. That make games very difficult to afford over here :(

Deluxe edition doesn't affect anything, all games/content work the same (except for most season passes which cannot be shared period)

I think we referred to them like this

Locked slot = has to play on that specific account that bought the game, and has to be signed in online

Resell slot = doesn't need to be signed into the acct, activates console as their "main" system and can play on any user

One locked slot per account, two resell slots per account (one ps4, one ps5) is how I believe it works. You cannot do any more than that. If you had 4 people playing at once, no idea how you did it but it shouldn't be possible. Only way that might be possible is if one of the resell slots signed offline, then another person "took" that resell slot activation through their console. The person offline can still play for a little while but eventually will require them to sign online or the game won't work - and when they do they won't have the activation slot anymore so it would lock

LF: CoD MW 2019 1 week rental (2 day actually) if anyone has it. I know QDizzle well and have used him for all my rentals in the past but as we know he got fucked over pretty bad on his accounts.
