I'm tired of posting threads on different sites looking for help...Hopefully this time I will actually get a helpful answer...
My problem is simple:I can't connect to the Playstation Network.
I had stopped going online with PS3 because I moved the ethernet cable from it to my computer, for a month or 2.
And I just put it back about a week ago, just to find out that it doesn't connect to the PSN.
The first thing I did when I had turned it on was setup the internet connection, and before it went any further than:
Obtain IP Address: Succeeded
Internet Connection: Succeeded
it told me I needed to download an update (3.41)
After that, I DLed it, installed it, and ever since then I wasn't able to connect to PSN.
Now everytime I try to setup a connection it says:
Obtain IP Address: Succeeded
Internet Connection: Succeeded
Playstation Network: Failed
and it doesn't go any further...I don't know if its the update that did this or not, but a few months ago I was able to connect just fine.
I don't believe that any settings changed on my laptop (I used a Sprint Franklin Wireless USB modem on my laptop, and run an ethernet cable from it to my PS3,)
so it's not like I got a new computer with whole new IP settings and all that stuff...
It still lets me download things and use the internet browser on my PS3, but it just doesn't connect to the Playstation Network.
I don't know why it's doing this...People say its probably that my UPnP isn't enabled, and to go on the Routers website and enable it, but I don't know how.
It's not a wireless router, its just a USB modem, and I go into my PC settings and the Universal Plug and Play setting was on and correct.
My firewall is completely off, so it has nothing to do with Ports.
Can anyone please help me?
