I hear ya, strife. You know what though, I wouldn't be surprised if some EB's end up getting a handful of copies back from returns. And EB is only one retailer carrying such editions. FS, BB, WM and other retailers might clear them out sooner or later. The only thing worthwhile is the Ezio statue, and once I graduate I'm trying to re-design my basement to look a bit more adult, and something about an 8.5" figure of a video game character wouldn't blend well with the mood of the pad.
Ya I suppose eh. Well a friend of mine has the game and said he would lend it to me after he got his platinum and before he traded it off. I would have bought it if I had the chance, but too bad gamestop, you get none of my money. I will just borrow and play it for free.

And I do realized that it is ridiculous for me to think that they would have 100 of everything or whatever. I do expect them to only have 10-20 of the LE, but come on, at least have a decent amount of reg. editions and at least have a set time where you change the website over rather then us having to guess or sit at the computer non-stop pressing refresh to have a chance.

Sold out here too. Not that I tried to hard to get it, didn't get there till 12:30. Never played the original and have no interest to, but a good deal is a good deal lol...Can confirm Avatar CE for both systems tomorrow....and Lips is the 23rd...not sure what is in between

Haha...that's funny...
We're buying a house next summer, and the Mrs said we can dedicate one of the rooms for my stuffs :D

I don't know what you guys were expecting. They're offering the special edition of one of the biggest games of the year, which came out a month ago for $60 off. Future Shop's site would have imploded just as badly.

That's not the issue. It's the fact that there was a certain expectation for the change to happen within an expected time period & then they just decide to randomly have it some other time completely screwing ppl really hard out of deals.

Well, I think I'm hopping off the Gamestop deals bandwagon. I've got enough games to play over the next bit. My wife brought me home Dragon Age Origins and God of War Collections from the states (Black friday deals). Those plus a few of my backlogs make for alot of hours to play.
Plus i have my last final on Monday which I should be studying for, but am discussing video games instead. :/

Totallly jealous. When I finally get a house I'm totalllly doing that, damn the wife! I am also getting one of those racing seats with a racing wheel/gripshift. I've been watching a lot of Top Gear lately, and man I would love to sit in a virtual cockpit of a $100 000 car and just barrel down the racetrack :D

It's weird because I managed to snag a copy of the game for myself and I had to create an account while ordering it. Although with tax and shipping, it amounts to $40, and I'm already reconsidering.

I actually just wanted the game to be quite honest, and the extra stuff does seem like something I'd lose interest in quickly...any big fan interested in buying any of that off of me?

Ummm.... Am I the only one that has realized something?

Now that it's on the website you can stroll over to FS/BB and get them to price match it.

Lips as in Lips: Number One Hits? Because I'd love to grab that for cheap.

Ya that would be pretty sweet. I tried out that GT5 time trial a few nights ago and it was pretty cool. Brought back memories of when I played GT1 for PS, because that was the last one I played.
Though I think if I was to ever get GT5 I would have to get one of those sweet logitech steering wheels. Racing games just aren't as fun with the Dual shock.

Oh and back to topic a bit. I find it funny that GS.ca finally changed the banner on the front page to ACII, however everything was already sold out by the time they did.
*Slow golf clap*

Yeah, hopefully it's going to be the bundle for less than what it costs for the wireless mic by itself.

It says "Currently unavailable online" which I'm pretty sure confirms that they won't price match it. I wish though!

I have an ISPU filled at a FS about 15 minutes away from me, but frankly it's cold out and I'm a little lazy to drive out there only to have my PM attempt rejected.
Yeah, hopefully it's going to be the bundle for less than what it costs for the wireless mic by itself.
Well, I already have 2 mics from the Original Lips bundle, so I hope there would be a game-only option as well.

Well I'll be one of the first to throw it out there; if anyone has an extra they want to unload, I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands! :D

Im sure he "got it for Christmas"
Just like the 2 or 3 other people selling them on Kijiji/Craigslist in everyones specific area.

i got his/her phone number, what a douche, also, what douches at EB to allow them to buy 4 copies of it. Only in the KW region could you find such slow CSR's.

I can only imagine how the conversation went. "Oh i need them for gifts for my family, (fake laugh) its a real good price!"

"oh in that case i see no problem in you getting 4 copies of the same game"

Here's an idea! If you could get an ISPU at BB/FS, you could go to your local FS/BB after 9pm, after all the EB's have closed! Hence, they cannot call to confirm stock, raising the odds of you being successful with your PM. I'll give'r a go later!

By the way, this is the last worthwhile GotD. Unless you want Avatar I guess. The rest have been on sale many times before at the same price. Actually I'm not sure which Singstar games have been on sale so if that interests you check back.

Failed with the price adjustment, kept stating that hq sent out an email ' no return/repurchases.' I don't get why they won't just give it to me. Commerce Court is closed on weekends and nobody in their right mind would buy it for $89.99 regularly. It was just gonna sit there.
Arghh, so frustrated...

Got mine in the GTA store around 10 am for the PS3, as i was leaving, heard a guy call and put the 360 ce version on hold for him. when i went to the stores the day before, they both had only 2 copies of each

They just restocked! But they must have only had 1 or 2, all gone again :(

I refreshed and the 360's listing was "Ships within 24 hours", added it to my cart, started the checkout and got the memo that it was no longer available.
It's actually about $101. I figured it out cause I know how to use a calculator :)
But you forgot to tip the sales clerk. He only tipped 10% cause he's a cheap reseller

What is this policy you speak of?
I bought my CE Friday knowing full well I'd be returning/repurchasing it.
And my local EB CSR's were happy to do so this afternoon.
Granted I didn't get cash back but $68 gift cards are cool to have too.

I don't know. They just kept saying that Head Office was very specific in their emails about not allowing returns and repurchases.

At first, they tried telling me the CE was not on sale. I showed them the site on my phone as a rebuttal, and they told me they can't change the price for me. So I was forced to return my copy. I kept asking if I can buy it again since it's almost closing, they said I can't buy it again ever. If EB doesn't want my money that badly, then fine, I won't force it on them.

I felt helpless seeing them put the boxes behind them, thinking that I can't purchase them.

The store I went to said they had instructions from HQ not to allow return/repurchase. Even the CSR said he wanted to for his copy he bought earlier, but didn't because he could get in trouble. It was specific for this deal.. normally there shouldn't be any problem doing so.

At EB Games, at Oakridge Mall, in Vancouver, they didn't sell me the Collectors Edition due to it having some kind of disc issue... Got normal edition, good enough for me.

But, you would've gotten more for nothing extra :hot:

The person said that something had gone wrong with the discs in the shipment.

Yeah, they got a touch of "Not owned by an EB Employee" on them, and the CSR had to fix that with his wallet. =)

AC2 for PS3 (YMMV for 360) will be 50% off ($29.99) on boxing day at Zellers for all those who missed this deal.

Just the RE though.

Avatar for 360 (YMMV PS3) will also be 50% off for those who may miss out on tomorrow's DOTD.

PM'd a copy at FS downtown. Nicest PM I've done. She pulled up the website (I had no flyer/printout) and the price was 50-something. ???? Took a minute to figure out she was on the american site.

Of course now the .ca site showed "not available online" for every version, but she let it slide.

Interesting tidbit--she remarked "I guess that explains the guy who came in this morning and tried to trade in 15 copies of ACII."

I'm really not liking the gamer to douche-bag ratio we've got going here in e-town...

Some people got no sense (or shame). 30 bucks a pop (possibly more including tax) just for an extra 10 bucks of profit in trade-in credit. 450 bucks down the drain unless this guy was buying a larger item or something.

The sad reality is that most of those scumbags are flea market jack offs looking for that sad $10 profit in their meaningless (c'mon, a life of working at a flea market on weekends and go to a lame Chinese restaurant cook life in weekdays [they're not really cooks though, I promise you that much, they just spray MSG into everything]) lives. That or people with no jobs. They stay afloat in the economy by doing exactly that, on $450 they make an extra $50, but that's only on a MAYBE if people buy them (a huge gamble) they might get stuck with 7 copies of AC2 CE ~_~. How do you think they can just all of a sudden rush out and grab X copies of this in mid day or whatever?

The only reason these morons don't go to the casino or get real jobs is because they can't take advantage and profit off a casino and real jobs are really hard.

Sure the odd payoff might be cool, but karma's a bitch and shit goes around. Also the amount of work-to-reward ratio is huge. I know (or rather, knew) a bunch of these people (from before and after EB), it's a really shitty way to live (I don't mean karma wise I mean actual job wise) and you can't get them to think otherwise because they'd rather die than get jobs (if any RFDers are reading their e-penises will be bruised and tell us they have awesome jobs, but it's all lies).

If it was just gamers actually buying up these deals it would be a helluva lot easier, shit would still be out of stock, but it would take a few hours (you could probably go an hour after opening and find a copy left).

Ugh, rant over, I'm just angry I missed out on a cheap-o Xmas gift, I hope they like AVATAR CE (if they don't all disappear before 8AM that is).

Am I the only one who thinks it's a good thing they were denying returning/repurchasing? Like, I already read about some douche pre-buying 16 copies of the CE and cleaning out every EB around him with the intent to return/repurchase. If they actually let you do it they'd have to allow him...

Kudos to EB for at least trying to stop the hoarders.

Anyone selling the art book? really that's all I wanted the CE for...I just got the RE and have just spent 3 hours happily running around Italy....

I do believe it's good policy, but I still think that they should have some discretion. Obviously they should deny the douchebag who bought 10 copies.

I'm just upset that I wasted my time because the guy at the first store said that I can just adjust the price at another EB since they're closed when the deal was on. Got 1 extra to help out a fellow gamer.
