There were 4 of us for 5 or 6 missions - just a nice lite session tonight. I can get on later if anyone is up for late-night Chromehounds - right now my boys are staying up late and playing TMNT :lol:.

For those who haven't checked in since last week, Sal Kar has been defeated (why do I get the notion that happens frequently?). We can only fight in the capital. Once this sorts itself out we should join Tarakia next and as someone tonight said (sorry, forget who) we should stick with them for 3 seasons for the achievement for that (plus, at that point all the new guys should have been able to buy all the nations' equipment).

Now I just need to rework my hound to make it a bit more powerful. What are you guys using to make yours so fast and with better armor/weaponry? It seems I have to strip it down to nothing for speed, and that isn't working for me. I'm finding the sniper gear to be fairly useless in these online matches because either we end up running into the enemy hounds half way or we go for the base, and the sniper stuff does little good in either case. My other weapons are machine guns which are moderately useful and triple-rifles which I find easy to handle, but they don't seem to do a ton of damage like whatever it is you guys use for base-busting.
 
Well, if you base rush then sniper gear isn't terribly useful. Most people on our squad seem to like to go for the enemies base, so I usually just play along and base rush. Personally, sniper cannons are my favorite weapons.
 
fucking Ring of Death Episode #2 for me. Looks like I will be offline for 4-6 weeks. Sucks since I just got 3 new games (including Vegas) and an EarForce2 for my Birthday.

Well, the good news is once I get the unit back I will definitely be in for some R6V Thursdays.
 
I've got one of those EarForce2 things, and the only thing that I don't like about it is that the sound seems to be reversed, i.e. sound from the right comes out of the left speaker and vice versa. Solution? Reverse the inputs.

As for me, I have to pull out of the squad as I returned the game back to GameFly recently. Sorry guys but there are some games that I really want to try.
 
It was nice having you in the squad Rusty. You sure you don't plan on buying the game again?

I feel like playing some R6 tonight. Anybody up for some HCC Terroist Hunt or Sharpshooter action this evening?

Is anyone gonna play tonight or is everyone watching the E3 stuff?

I can jump on any time, but right now my kids are playing Lego Star Wars II so I'm just monitoring my friend's list on the PC. I'm not sure I have all of the clan on my FL though so there might be a game going on without me knowing ;).

Been a while since I played this, are Sal Kar still getting their butts kicked?

And anyone else hoping there's a Chromehounds 2 in the works? I liked the game, but lack of single player, and many small and large annoyances with the MP.

I liked it enough to rent it twice, but it just wasn't enough for me to buy.
 
Actually, in the current war Sal Kar is winning and just took out Morskoj. I played a bit tonight as I knew I was close to the 50 deployments on the wheeled chassis. Turns out I was VERY close - only took 1 mission :lol:. So now I'm on to a hover vehicle, but I need to pick a better cockpit or something because I actually lost a mission tonight. Blah...

When I play solo I'm also working on trying to play at least once on every map - that means doing lots of night missions of course...

I was also able to get all the parts purchased so now I can save up for the donation. How does that work, exactly? I have to dontate 10 million?

Definately, I still pray that they make a sequel some day. The game is so fucking good but there's still so many little things that they can add to make it better.

My suggestion...when you die, instead of walking around as a little soldier that can give no damage, let us pilot tanks, turrets and chicken mechs atleast...it would be cool to run around looking for tanks or chicken mechs to control.

I think that will work out well because we just did a full rotation with all the new people (like me). I just got all the parts purchased, so it would be perfect to stick it out with Tarakia for 3 seasons now.

In other news, I think we still have one spot open and can make room for maybe 1 or 2 more if needed. I know UltimateMattX wanted to play again, but I think I cut him awhile back, so he needs to reapply. I also signed some new guy up the other day thinking he was on CAG but it turns out he was just trying to join a random squad, so he can be cut if needed.
 
I might be looking for a squad in the next few days, just got my 360 back from repair. My old squad disbanded and I've lost a lot of my contacts in this game, haven't played since before the latest patch came out.

Okay, forgive me if this is the wrong place to post, but this is the first time I've noticed the thread (thanks to the front page!!!).

I've considering picking up Chromehounds maybe 10 times, but each time looked at the review on IGN and decided not to. At $22.50 (EB), I figured even if I didn't like it so much... it couldn't be TOO bad. But I've had trouble saving money lately, and decided to play a trip to Vegas in Sept., so I definatley shouldn't just buy things willy nilly.

That said, I'm a proud Steel Battalion owner who enjoys combat sims. Think I'd get my $15-$20 worth with Chromehounds? Never played a demo, seen a video, or even checked out screenshots before. But free multiplayer sounds a LOT better than playing WOW again, so maybe it would be fun.

Sorry to be so longwinded. Any insite or assistance for a newb would be appreciated!!!

Absolutely. You might not LOVE this game (I loved SB), but you'll probably like it, once you get used to it.


Are you guys still in Tarakia? Don't want to move to the wrong nation and lose my ability to do it for 2 weeks.
 
Sorry to the squad since I haven't shown up in a week or two, but I did get around to restarting the war this week. We are still with Tarakia and I believe that makes 2 in a row. I'm not sure if some members quit or not but I think we still have 3 spots open if someone else wants to join.

I've missed the last two as well but will try to get in next week for sure.
 
I missed this week because I am sick. I've been going to work and coming home and crashing out. I need to play to make sure I get the one achievement so I will probably hop on at least once this weekend to make sure I participated enough in the war.
 
I'm gonna be back on this along with Mr. Wahoo and Chev some if anyone wants to play. I'll probably start my own thing though since nobody really gets online in this group anymore.

I'd say it is easily worth $12 for the (rather short) single-player campaign. It is easy to get into as each set of missions (one set for each type of hound - soldier, scout, sniper, etc) starts with a tutorial mission. You can replay any mission to get an 'S' rank (get 'em all and you net an achievement). Even I was able to do that (with some effort) so the game isn't overly difficult or complicated. The only thing I can't seem to get the hang of is building a powerful hound for the online play. But for $12 you could bypass online entirely if you wanted. If you think you might enjoy the online then by all means purchase it at $12!
 
Just got my console back from Texas. Once I get it all set up I will be trying to get into this and R6V, but it might not be until next week.
 
Man, I really need to mess with a new setup. I did two missions against the computer last night and got absolutely trounced by heat rockets both times. Any tips for a new setup since the patch that works a little better? Had a cluster of 3 MG's on one side and 3 missles on the other, always use to work perfect for CPU missions, but apparently not anymore. =P
 
Wow, it's Tuesday again already? I might have to play tonight so you guys can roll over my exploded corpse of a hound whilst I chase you with my peashooter trooper.

Dafoomie, have you tried Mechassault 2 on a 360 yet?
