Licensing issues will probably keep this from ever hitting VC.
THQ is still the publisher and license holder for WWE games.

Yeah. Too many guys in no mercy have went off to different companies. Everybody would want their cut. It'd cost more to put the game up there then they'd make. Who wouldn't want an online No Mercy with updated graphics though?

Actually, scratch online. I can't get any enjoyment out of playing wrestling games online for some reason.

blah.. todays countdown is rey fucking mysterio

pics look blurry..maybe they are using ps2 version for countdown

this pic looks bad ass though..

When will they give us the ability to use the live camera for CAWs?

The main problem with CAWs is that you see this beautiful model when you're using the roster and you can't make anything even close to that ( unless you are god or have a lot of time on your hands ) because they are using software that actually takes pictures of the wrestlers' faces and puts them in the game. Now if we had the ability to take pictures or input pictures into the game for CAWs then this problem would be solved.

Yeah, the X and O in that pic confirms it's the PS2 version.

Late to the party, but I -really- wish WWE'd stop putting The Rock in as a legend. It's a waste of a spot, even if they're trying to keep him fresh in people's minds in case he ever comes back. Use that spot for legends that haven't appeared yet - there's at least three dozen guys signed to WWE Legends contracts for figures, yet haven't appeared in game. Give us Vader, Andre, Tito Santana, Iron Sheik, Paul Orndorff, Honky Tonk Man, etc. Note to WWE - you still have fans that watched in the '80's.

After the PWG show this weekend, I have a request: please, indy wrestlers - let the enziguri die. It's not going to get over if every single one of you does it, usually three or four times in a match.

No Mercy gave us Andre... I'm pleased to see Rick Rude was included though. I'm assuming that HTM hasn't been in the past for political reasons. Probably why we'll never see Bruno Sammartino in a WWE wrestling game. Although, I believe he was contacted to do some DVD stuff, was he not?

I'm glad that Rock is a legend, and it isn't like him being in is preventing someone else from being in - there isn't a magical number of legends they HAVE to have, and Burke does NOT equal ratings. Good worker, great talker, but not a ratings-grabber. The next-gen SD tradition of shiny, six-packed bodies continues judging by the Punk and Rey shots... ugh.
holy shit... morrison owned rvd with that split leg moonsault

what a match!
Agreed. They put on a hell of a show, and Morrison definitely gave us something to look forward to when he gets back off of suspension.

After seeing him in this match, I'd love to see him in the title picture on either RAW or SD.

Four things of note.

01. Punk/Morrison was the best match the WWE has put on free television since Edge/Orton on Raw a while back. Great to see the crowd into it as well.

02. Morrison's new gimmick is going to do wonders for him.

03. Punk is getting a TON of exposure from the company. Did you see all those crowd shots of the kids cheering for him? His straight edge lifestyle looks like its going to pay off majorly in spades. Instead of the heel turn we've been waiting for, I have a feeling Punk is going to play a sort of implicit role model character for a while to appeal to the kids.

04. Could the referee have looked less interested in that match?

Congrats Punk and Morrison. Morrison should be kept on ECW for a while longer before being moved over. ECW needs to call up more talent for Morrison to fued with because Punk/Morrison can't last until the next draft.

i agree morrison/nitro needs more time in ecw... him and punk are awesome and can hopefully continue a great feud...

whos next for punk? big daddy?

hopefully burke gets a good shot..but morrison will be back in a month

Hmm...the PSP version of SVR has 3 more legends than the others (Eddie Guerrero, Jim Neidhart, and Sgt. Slaughter) - admittedly, only Guerrero is all that exciting.

Also, I noticed that the DS version has Hardcore Holly (not that it will inspire anyone to buy it).

o shit.. i gotta get a ds now

the punk/morrison match was great...

other thoughts on ecw...

good to know they shit on the whole thorne walking out on burke thing months ago.

the miz is getting somewhat better in the ring, but still sucks.

and seriously they needed a few more dragon wars commericals.

I'm assuming they'll do something with Punk and Burke while Morrison is away. When Morrison comes back, they'll switch that fued back on. I expect Morrison to take the belt back eventually since I have a feeling Stephanie and company love his look.

It would be cool if Morrison and Punk started calling up people from OVW to have their back in an ever escalting fued. This way they could prep a whole bunch of new talent and not have to set them up with an 'origin' story type deal.

You're asking for far too much out of WWE Creative/ECW. Remember, Dusty Rhodes is the freakin' booker on this show.

I can dream dude. :)

I'm just thinking of ways Colt Cabana could be called up.

Ric Flair has quit the WWE :(

source: Pro Wrestling Torch
Apparently, Ric Flair quit WWE earlier in the week. The possible departure doesn't have anything to do with the recent drug scandal, he's simply frustrated with his push. Also, he hasn't had any encouraging communication from management.
WWE hasn't given Flair his release. WWE officials are trying hard to get him to cool off and not quit. They are having discussions to get things sorted because WWE doesn't want him to quit the company.

Wow. That's a far cry from the man who was in tears following his match with Triple H so many years ago.

But, can you blame WWE? I don't think you can reasonably put him in a title feud - and regretfully, they just dropped the "respect" angle they were running with Carlito that had a very good start.

Who would you have him fued with on Smackdown?

Dave Taylor? Paul Birchall? Some other yet-to-be-brought-up OVW talent (Chet the Jet Jablonski and Colt Cabana come to mind)? Rekindle his feud with Kenny "Goin' Nowhere Fast" Dykstra?

Benoit's Brain Testing Results are in:

Report: Chris Benoit's Brian Was Severely Damaged
Date Added: September 05, 2007
Story By: Ryan Gray
Source ABCNews.com

ABC News is confirming that tests conducted by Julian Bailes of the Sports Legacy Institute show that Chris Benoit’s brain was severely damaged at the time he murdered his wife and son before taking his own life. According to the tests his brain resembled that of an 85-year-old Alzheimer's patient. Bailes said that the damage was the result of lifetime chronic concussions and head trauma.

Chris Benoit was famous for his flying headbutt, which is a lot of stress on the brain each time the maneuver is pulled off. While nothing can justify his actions, this at least helps the coping process.
Mitsuharu Misawa? In ROH?!?!?!
Yeah THAT Mitsuharu Misawa. It was announced back at the August show I was at but they hadn't said the matches that were going down. Misawa/KENTA vs. Marafuji/Morishima in Philly was announced at like 12AM last night. We're still waiting for his match-up in NYC. Both nights are supposed to be Budokai Hall level events.
I'm still pissed that Morishima got the title on his first night as opposed to cabana in like 2-3 odd years.
You'll be even more pissed then that his match with American Dragon is going to be the match of the year.
Chris Nowinski is going to look like a prophet in hindsight.

What's the date on that ROH show in Philly? I hope it's near the November date, and Misawa and the gang will swing by Dayton.
2 nights only. Philly and NYC. Friday November 2nd and Saturday 3rd. I'm trying to get myself a ride for Philly but I'm a definite for NYC.

I don't how much it means to you, but since this may be a once in a lifetime chance to see Misawa in the United States, if you want to come down for one of those shows, I'd be willing to let you crash at my place. I'm sure his asking price was a quite a bit so ROH probably can't justify bringing Misawa outside of Philly and NYC (which they always sell out).

Just thought I'd throw it out there.

EDIT - JJSP Thanks for the pictures and the video. I wish I could see Shelly live again. ::cries::
I'm probably going to the Philly show. Hopefully traffic won't be to bad coming from Baltimore directly after work.
What seats do you have?
What seats do you have?
I just get general admission when I go to the Philly shows. I haven't purchased my ticket yet but will probably sometime this week or next.

A friend of mine is heading to both shows, for the NYC show he bought front row balcony.
