They put Nick Dinsmore out of his in' misery, by releasing Eugene.
I really felt bad for that guy.
I think he could be a valuable asset for TNA if they push him as a pissed-off hooker-style wrestler that just annihilates everyone in his path. The problem is, TNA won't do that. Our problem is that we, as fans, think we should do something to help Dinsmore reclaim some self-respect in the public eye - but is that what would really make money?

I was thinking about the same angle... It's so logical that, like you said, it'd never happen.
Nick Dinsmore, right before he came up to WWE, had a look and style that Roderick Strong always reminds me of (to this day). I'd really like to see those two feud.
Now, Dinsmore (methinks) lives in Louisville, which is only an hour's drive from Cincinnati. So, while he probably just drove home, wouldn't you hate to be the first young fan to approach him at an airport?
 So you agree, then?
Hah. Yeah definitely man. Dinsmore looks like such a badass. How the hell did they turn that into Eugene.
I just threw up on the ROH board that Dinsmore should be brought in and a couple of guys there are freaking out that Dinsmore may start pushing steroids on the roster. *shakes head*

"MOMMYMOMMYLOOK! IT'S EUGENE!"
" you, kid, I ain't no retard."
Hahahaha. I can imagine the look on the kid's face.
Bingo. Dinsmore's worst enemy was his height. I don't think he was 5'9 (and we all know how wrestling shows embellish height). The few times I'd seen him up close, he didn't have a very impressive stature. Of course, that truly matters in WWE (do you think any of the Radicalz would have been given the time of day if they weren't who they were in WCW?).
I think that, originally, they were on the cusp of releasing him without ever bringing him up. He was so desperate to do anything that, somehow, I think, the writers took that a bit too far. I don't mind the character Eugene - he really wasn't all that different from George The Animal Steele. What I do mind is that, by firing him, they took away Eugene's greatest potential - the "I'm not retarded but this is the kind of crap I have to do to wrestle for you miserable people" heel turn.
It could happen in TNA, but it won't have the impact (unintentional pun) it would have had in WWE.
EDIT: Maybe the travesty is that a solid wrestler is reduced to a comedy act so often in wrestling (Eugene), but so many comedy acts demand to be taken seriously (VKM).
Dinsmore could have an awesome gimmick in TNA. Just come out and air WWE's dirty laundry. Mock WWE creative for giving him that shit gimmick, a gimmick that pretty much mirrored the intelligence of WWE creative. Then go kick some ass in the ring. The guy could obviously wrestle.
Although, the part about him having to be escorted out does kind of make me wonder if he "Tarded up" Eugene style before leaving.
comic genious...just got done watching that one, now i have to watch them all haha
edit: saw the first and third but neither were half as good as that first one...
oh and i spotted a link for london vs. sabin in one of those vids, recommend watching it
lotta props to london in that match - he does a running shooting star press!
2nd edit: wtf?! cm punk interfered in that match, no idea he was in tna
Really thought this was funny with the SD taping results.
They had two Kenny Dykstra vs. Chuck Palumbo matches. One where Kenny won by forfeit due to Palumbo no-showing due to his bike not starting backstage. The other, which will air, where Palumbo wins. So he had to forfeit the first match? Why not walk to the ring you ing lazy ass? Hell, there were times Taker's bike ed up and he had to walk.
they pretty much destroyed dinsmore's career with that gimmick
Yeah, the way I see it, he's damaged goods now. No matter where he goes and whatever gimmick they give, people will only think of him as the retard Eugene.

Unless he drastically changes his gimmick and juyst wrestles as Nick Dinsmore.

I can't believe that. I think he will be able to move past it if given the opportunity. I think a lot of wrestling fans are waiting to see him live and see what he can actually deliver when he isn't being held back by the gimmick.
I have some old VHS tapes that I'm going to be getting rid of and wanted to see if any of you are interested in them first. These are former rental copies and have a tag on the front and back of the sleeve. I'll provide a match list if somebody wants one. I'll ship media mail w/delivery confirmation. $5 shipped per tape, 4 or more $4 shipped per tape, all 9 $3 shipped per tape.

I got that damned Goldberg theme stuck in my head, so catchy.
Also, speaking of Goldberg, I was watching Law and Order SVU the other night and this dude was just like totally freaking out because he was in a PCP rage. Throwing chairs and knocking people out with one punch and stuff. Then he took a tazer to the stomach and just took it and started mubling something about Barbie. It was Goldberg, too bad he wasn't used any other time in the episode. Such a good segment.
Unless he drastically changes his gimmick and juyst wrestles as Nick Dinsmore.
More or less. I think, if he is pushed by a promotion as a hybrid of Samoa Joe (give Dinsmore a long winning streak - you don't even have to have him beat top guys, but in TNA, guys like Sonjay Dutt/Shark Boy/Erik Young/James Storm, or in ROH, Primeau/whatever guys are currently early in the roster) and Ken Shamrock (when they tried that "snapping" gimmick with him in 1997.
I want to see Dinsmore as a hooker who will take you to in' school, but is completely out of control as a wrestler - and, having been saddled with "Eugene" for 3 years or more, it would be completely believable if he was a in' nut job. Right?
I refuse to believe that any wrestler had been saddled with a gimmick so bad that their career never recovered. If I had told you, two years ago, that smart mark ROH fans would respect Gunnar Scott and one of the Dicks, you'd laugh me right out of here. There are plenty of other bad gimmicks that have been successfully overcome - Scotty "The Body" Flamingo immediately comes to mind. I can't think of a single person who had such a bad gimmick that they never recovered. Now, a *feud* on the other hand? That's a different monster altogether. I'd much rather be Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz than the guy who has to job to the Undertaker's wife.

I found the ending to the Noble/Hornswaggle match even more amusing.
To mykeverin- DDP. But he was way out of his prime and he said it was his fault ( because there was supposed to be a People's Champ vs People's Champ but DDP didn't want to wait for it to happen ) . Also, supposedly Dismore chose the Eugene gimmick, but his other choice could've been a spot in the unemployement line....
And everybody has a bad gimmick sometime in their wrestling tenure ( usually when they start out ). And I also wouldn't have belived that Jamie Nobile would eventually go to ROH and become ROH champion to a standing ovation.
Cryme Tyme has also been released. As for Eugene... I can see a Borne Again-style gimmick work for him, but I can also see it being a career-killer like the Red Rooster was for Taylor. Hopefully ROH signs him and actually treats him like a serious act.
If TNA signs him, I fear that they'll just have him come in as a Eugene knock-off (maybe named Special Ed), or just have him come in and cut a scathing promo against WWE, and then not use him. Sorta like Test (minus the scathing promo), who came in, did one match in the "main event" of a PPV, and hasn't been seen since.
Dinsmore doing a wrestling-lite Eugene-ish gimmick might be good for his health though, given that he apparently has a thrashed back. Given that his drug problems in the past, I fear him going to TNA, and ROH for that matter.
Here are some pretty good matches.
Ogawa vs. Hashimoto from 1/4/99, where Ogawa 'breaks the code' and beats the everloving shit out of Hashimoto from a mount position, leading to a huge brawl between New Japan and UFO - http://www.sendspace.com/file/ycfzq6
Cryme Tyme, huh? Whatever. TNA will pick them up in a heartbeat.
Interesting to see so many names not associated with the drug scandal get let go, outside of Nova.
Working on encoding OVW TV (finally got my laptop back last night), so I'll have three weeks of it up tonight sometime. Well worth the download if you're a Colt Cabana fan, as his feud with Shawn Spears really picked up over the past few weeks. Also, another Second City Saint makes a cameo appearance (and it ain't CM Punk), in what appears to be his OVW debut. I hope to see him in the ring shortly.
They'll be the new additions to Team Pac-Man, simply because they're black.
ahh man...worst thing is, i could see that happening
team pac-man has pac get the world title (because they have to do something with him...), killings go for the x, and then cryme tyme (or pac's security...who knows haha) get the tag, damn
On the mic and in the ring.
Well, that settles that.
( Have never really seen them ).
Oh yeah, just like there was always tens of thousands of people chanting Goldberg at every WCW event. Also, just like how somehow, out of the blue. Cena gets fan support even when the crowd as been booing him the entire match.
Punk won the title...probably old news now, but i bet that the writers at WWE feel like idiots for not having him win at summerslam
I doubt it, how could they have known Morrison was going to get suspended?
Had it not been for that I doubt Morrison would've dropped the ECW title til he left the show like Lashley
As for Cryme Time, what was their saying? Yea yea! Hell yea I say, good riddance to an obnoxious gimmick. Now if we could just do anything about this John Cena guy k Cena would have to film himself having sex with Stephanie, Linda and Shane simultaneously to get fired though.
