dang looks like they didn't address the issue with the Silent Hill coupon from the last batch...maybe it will come later in the week

For all of those looking for the silent hill coupon: The Gamer Zone ad magazine showed the coupon not starting until 12/21 (See OP). You may be waiting longer than a week. It won't be on this round.

Sure it's better than nothing, but 150 bonus points plus the 35 you'll get for buying the game is still 65 short of even getting a $5 certificate. Seems like you'd be better off getting it at Costco for $30 or doing a B1G1 at TRU with another game or a friend.
 
Since it says markdowns taken from regular prices and not valid on sale prices, would this even work on GH:Smash Hits this week?

Ymmv but I was told by a manager they are aware of the coupons and that they accept the coupon making the game 10 bucks plus tax.

They use that same language on every coupon and I have yet to hear about a coupon being declined on a sale item. The only time it seems like the coupons won't work is if you try and stack them with a price match to another store.

Just got home with GH:SH for $10.73 out the door, tried using my $5 off from GH5 but that was a no go, still $11 is a nice deal.

I also noticed in the front of the store they had a bunch of clearanced games in a bin for $5, I only took note of the 360 games, Flatout UC, Rock Revolution, TNA Impact. There were a bunch of PS2 & 3 games also.
 
I just got back. The coupon worked fine for me. The lady didn't have to do anything special. She read the coupon then scanned it and said OK to the screen and it came off at the total. The DJ Hero coupon, on the other hand, came in "invalid" so she overrode it for me (by just adding in coupon manually for 5). All in all, I came out with GH:SH for $5.81. :)

Alright, after work I'll attempt to get Guitar Hero: Smash Hits :ps3: for $5 and tax with this coupon and the Guitar Hero 5 coupon.

Pretty lame I still have to pay $1.99 on PSN to import 21 songs into GH5. At least I was able to trade my GH5 code for a Band Hero one.

Oh, you're right, for some reason I thought they would put the coupons up anyway ahead of time...but that wouldn't make sense

Its a $5 coupon that is included with GH5, DJ Hero, and there also may be other "hero" games that have it in them.

I just hope the snowfall doesn't become too heavy after I get off work. Not worth risking a car accident just to make a detour (albeit just a mile or so) on a game I'm just going to use the export code and probably never pop the disc into my PS3.

Super-YMMV(Most likely more cashier stupidity):

Bought GH:SH(360) and Army of Two(PS3) today for 16.66 I believe(change might be off). Took the Toys R Us ad with the B1G1 50% off, PMed it & used the $10 off on SH coupon, and she took the half off on the Smash Hits, leaving me to pay for just Army of Two at 14.99. Me and my father were both kinda flabbergasted that I didn't get half off the Army of Two, but can't complain too much when i get a game for free pretty much.

Finally something going my way at Best Buy for once without any hassle.

If I recall correctly, usually all coupons are put up at once. This doesn't bode well for the free Saints Row or Lets tap. If anyone can confirm this, please post.

Garden State Plaza Best Buy, did not try the other one in my area cause of the horrible traffic around this time..

No, they typically put them up just shortly before they're active.
 
I got the same treatment in Rochester MN. The lady didn't even look at the coupon, she told me right away that it can't be used on sale priced items. I think a nation-wide memo went out alerting employees to these specifically. Maybe that is why it took so long for the coupon to be online.
 
The stores were told about this.

Since I didn't read the coupon I asked the jackass why (seriously who gets the Evil Monkey from Family Guy on their forearm...really will get ahead in the world with that on your arm)..he said it was only valid regular price not the sale price.

Sure enough on the coupon it says cannot be combined with discounted prices.

With that said, is there anyway for them to look up the "regular price"? It's been $20 for about 2 weeks, hasn't it? Therefore, the regular price should be $20 and it's not a sale price, just an advertised price.

Just fucking great that was going to be the store I was going to check. I checked the BestBuy in West Paterson and the did have any copies.
 
I had no problem using the $10 GH Smash Hits coupon. I took the game the game up to the check out, laid out my RZ card and the coupon, and the cashier didn't bat an eye. The $10 came right off, even though the game is on sale. Receipt shows:

PS3-guitar hero smash hits $9.99
reg $49.99 30.00 sale disc
10.00 pack disc
 
Worked for me with GH Smash Hits for the Wii. There were 2 more copies left but I wasn't going to hoard them. Trade in value on Goozex was 600 points/$30 for the Wii version last night if you can get an instant trade, but this copy is for me.

I just had the coupon and my reward zone card on top of the game, handed it to the cashier, she rang up my card, then game, then the coupon and the computer accepted it all it seemed. No questioning from her, no need for a manager. $10.86 total.

Best Buy's stupidity amazes me. Whoever prices the weekly ads should have sent a memo to the coupon people because this game easily sells itself at $20 at the moment.

Well my bad luck streak continued.....

Brought in the 10% off coupon with intention of purchasing 3 games, got the games, went up front, cashier only took 10% off one game, not all 3 :bomb:

Then, on top of that, if you bought over $100 in Movies/CD's/Games, you got a $10 gift card, well she scanned the card, but forgot to place it in my sack :bomb:

So now, I have to head out tomorrow, to get the price difference in games/Gift Card.
