Arrrrr mateys. It be time to plunder and loot the fertile shores of the local Best Buy again.

Hopefully I can score a copy of Terminator and Madworld. I'm not looking to get 20 copies to feed my kids or buy myself an HDTV. I just want to play the games. I'd be OK if they raised them to 5 bucks, but free is even better.

I just don't see how BB will let this go again so soon. Especially 4 games. This smells like a trap. Somehow, I bet they will use this to ban some accounts.

I have the distinct feeling I'm on a blocked list of RZ member at my local 2 stores now after last Sunday's pillaging, so I don't even know if I'll bother.

I probably will try, just for the shit of it, but I'm not going to go nuts and grab 10-15 copies of each. As long as 2-3 of those are for PS3, I'll try nabbing at least 1-2 copies apiece.

That is, unless it's like noon or 1pm and there's a ton of copies left.

Might as well go out with a bang, right? Though after last weekend I'm not sure I wanna step foot in the local 2 BB stores again this soon.

Dammit, suddenly my special trip to BB to get Let's Tap (Which, yes, I have wanted to play) seems a bit hollow now that it's STILL going to be possibly free.

Although I have a feeling BB will figure out something by then after this weekend's mess; I'd print the coupons NOW but be prepared for them not to work with sale prices or something..

Actually, they already bolded the statement on the coupon that they don't work with sale prices, in the in vain hope that cashiers will actually READ the coupon and give a shit.

Which is what I meant by figuring out something-- we've learned relying on cashiers results in lots of free games being given away. ;) I have a feeling the POS programmers are going to have a busy holiday weekend.

Either that, or the chaos begins anew Sunday! Although if the 1-discount-per-coupon-per-transaction happens, we're going to make a lot of cashiers insanely pissed off buying multiple free games with stacks of coupons 20 pages high.

It would really only be good to flip Lets Tap, Mad World, Terminator Salvation, and Transformers 2 at Gamestop if the extra $20 is still applied. The TIV for all 4 games isnt worth hoarding for. When FYE's TIV for them is terrible. I may try for 2 copies of each, if they are free. A copy of each to keep and a copy of each to trade to Gamestop. Getting more is just pointless. Still hoping I'll be able to snag some for free.

Well, technically Sunday is the 27th(the last day of the 4/$20 promo:D), so it looks like the same type of mad scramble I made this week to get to Best Buy to grab the shit out of Fairytale Fights is going to happen next week with those four games.

EDIT: On second thought, with the values from the GS thread, I'll sleep in this week. :whistle2:#

indeed. Should be interesting. Theres 2 gamestops in one town near me that are literally just across the street from each other. :)

Thing is, you can only use one coupon at a time. I went today to get SR2, and Madworld. I had to use 2 seperate rw coupons because they couldn't stack. So I doubt many are going to try two separate purchases with the same cashier and get games free both times. You will need to 1) take a friend 2) go in and out and try it and hope you get a different cashier or 3) limit yourself to certain games only. I have no doubt that you can score all 4 games (where is the proof terminator will be free?) but to score 4 times as many games as sunday, not going to happen.

I don't understand why Best Buy is giving away free games... oh well more gain for us.

Looks like I'm getting 3 copies of each game. Going to keep Madworld though.

F That. I'm gonna rock their asses from second 1. I'm pulling a free PS3 out of the first one... Guess I'll have a shit ton of games to go with it...

BTW, from the GS thread, Terminator: Salvation's trade value has dropped to $1.50 trade value, so it won't work for any of their tiered/bonus trades...

It's so weird... Why would they do it again when they had to change the entire thing last Sunday? I realize that these ads are put together long in advance... My guess is that they're going to use this now to clear stick of these games at $5. I think they'll do the same thing with them that they did with SR2 - just jack the price, with no price change sent to stores. Every copy of SR2 that I picked up as filler had a $19.99 tag on it, but you know the drill...

Guess we'll see :)

I'm so glad I live near this guy.

Oh here we go again! You guys are crazy if you think it will work! Unless we have some help for half the day like we did last Sunday, I guarantee you the asterisk will be by the price and the POS will know it's on sale, killing the coupon. Maybe I'm just jealous b/c I can't make a massive sweep again. Oh well, can hit up 3 if they still open at 8am
I'm so glad I live near this guy.
Did you come out Sunday? Nope, you didn't. I left plenty of copies of FTF, unfortunately. My last transaction was at 1:48, 45 minutes before they pulled the coupon. So I'm pretty sure that I caused no CAGgers to lose out.

If they had left this new coupon alone and not put a '1 game per coupon' limit in the system(even though it says 3 on the coupon), then I would probably hit up my local BB stores for between 1-5 copies of each this Sunday again.

I wanna see if I can beat my old record for hoarding back when I had like 600-700 penny guides amassed in like 3 months.

Sick part is, the bulk of that huge amount was from 2-3 stores that hadn't pulled anything for 6 months.

Ugh can someone outline the deals that are going to be free on Sunday? I'm so confused!

Edit: Did my research, NVM.

Transformers (360)
Terminator (360)
Let's Tap (Wii)
Mad World (Wii)

for those just logging in.

Interesting. I would pick up a copy of Transformers and Terminator to play since I actually like those movies, even though i'm sure the games suck, still for free would be free. I wouldn't bother trying to get extras of anything but Transformers though. Transformers has a TiV at Amazon of 18.50 right now. Madworld 8 so maybe a copy of that for trading in. Could use some credit at Amazon to pay for my copy of Mass Effect 2 CE.

I think I will try my luck and be there first thing sunday morning. That worked for me last time and it obviously doesn't pay to wait till later in the day.

Here's the link for coupons in case anyone is having trouble looking them up (no login required!):

$10 Off
$20 Off

Has anyone confirmed the $10 coupon is messed up in regards to not allowing multiple copies like the $20 one is?

It sucks that there's not going to be any PS3 titles this week that may be coming up free after coupon, but I'll probably swing by for a copy of each at least.:D Can't say no to free.

FYI, current trade values on Amazon:

:360: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen $18.75
:360: Terminator Salvation $4.50
:wii: Let's Tap $5.25
:wii: Mad World $8.50

Lock in those trades, especially on Transformers. That's a hot deal if you can score three.

The only title I may be remotely interested in is Madworld but even for $10 its fine.. you people are pretty nuts seeing this is going to be the biggest return weekend for bestbuy as well as 8 million monkeys out to spend GC....

I dont know if its worth waiting in lines for extended periods of time to get denied.. Especially with titles with no real huge suprise flip opportunities... Unless you want to play them I say this round is a bust. ;)

GL though

Toys R'Us beats all of those TIV's except for TF:ROTF, for which they give $3.75 less than Amazon. But still, if you get multiples of those games for free next Sunday, it's pure profit(just like Fairytale Fights this week:D).

Also, check Spun.com:

Madworld:$7.40
Terminator: Salvation:$6.20
TF: ROTF:$16.30
Let's Tap:$5.50

I'm expecting $60 in credit next week for six FTF I flipped to Amazon. :)

BTW, if the trade value ever goes UP you can just update your order without changing quantities and print out a new shipping manifest. There's no downside to locking in early and if you can't come up with three copies -- do nothing. They will accept the number of copies you send and just mark any missing games as less the total credit.
I just don't see how BB will let this go again so soon. Especially 4 games. This smells like a trap. Somehow, I bet they will use this to ban some accounts.
What trap? As long as the terms stated on their coupon are followed, I don't see how they could ban anyone. They are their terms, whether they make sense or not. And if the terms aren't followed, they'd be more likely to fire the cashier who let it through than to ban a customer (they would pretty much have to prove that it was the customer, and not the employee, who was at fault in the situation to take any action against the customer).

About the only case in which I could see them being able to do anything against a customer would be if someone went from store to store (or to the same store multiple times, or whatever), using multiple copies of a coupon and grabbing as many copies of the games as the coupon allowed each time. But then, honestly, the people doing that would really just be getting what they deserve, so I'm not crying for them. Even in that case, though, it could be argued that it's Best Buy's responsibility to make the coupons one-use-per-RZ account or whatever and make their system enforce it if they don't want to allow it.

$10 each? Shit. I traded 4(1 PS3, 1 360)to two seperate Blockbuster stores for $44 at each store and each store put the credit on gift/value cards for me. Plus, I got $32 in credit for 2 copies @ Hollywood Video and $14.90 a copy($9 before trade bumps) for 1 copy each for PS3/360 at Gamestop after trade bump(s).

And just yesterday I took 2 more to a local shop for $15 CASH each.

I was tempted to take a couple to TRU, but then I saw they were only getting $10 there. I'm all about making the most for my free games.

You mean like I did last Sunday? Hell, I went back an hour after I hit up the second BB the first time for the last 2-3 copies they had and they still let me check out with them.

Oh I'm well aware of places giving more than $10 credit, but the only FYE here doesn't take trades and I never do business at BBV, etc. Plus I'm still getting my games at 30% off at Amazon thanks to an old ECA order. I'm making that $60 go a mile haha.

Cool, cool story, bro.

Seriously, no one cares, and also: not everyone has access to these trade options... so, what is your point? Should we be applauding you or something?
Cool, cool story, bro.

Not really. Just mentioning the actual TIV's for those people who have those options and wanted to know about them for potential flipping.

USed the coupon twice yesterday, and purchased 2 copies of Saint's Row 2 each time. Both went down to $5.00. I think, after the coupon is scanned an option pops up in the POS machine something like "apply coupon to both games".. the cashier went with yes, and it discounts multiple copies. Regardless I picked up two, used one coupon, and both went down to $5.00. Did it at two different Bestbuys with it going through both times.
You mean like I did last Sunday? Hell, I went back an hour after I hit up the second BB the first time for the last 2-3 copies they had and they still let me check out with them.
Yeah, exactly like that . . . That's the one case where Best Buy could legitimately look at your account, say that you were violating the terms of the coupon, and ban you or whatever. I'm not saying that they will -- in fact, history shows they probably won't. But it's the one real case where they could easily prove that you are indeed knowingly and intentionally gaming the system if they wanted to do so.

It's pretty clear at this point that he's just fishing for the attention. Otherwise he'd have the common sense to not repeatedly post that he's doing things that he knows piss people off, especially when there's no point to posting it. Pathetic, but for some people, negative attention is still attention regardless.

I was replying to Jodou's post about them getting $60 in credit from Amazon and mentioned where I split up my copies to and what I got. We were discussing what each of the games that may be 'free' this Sunday are getting and comparing where the best TIV is.

Excuse me for mentioning it.
