I'm done.

I don't know how many attempts at Skolas just got buttfucked by shitty connection issues. ONLY at the Skolas Fight. ONLY when we had already sunk 10+ minutes to each attempt. That's when I get DC'd.

-With the same error code each time, you might ask? NO, of fuckING COURSE NOT.

-Were they error code's that have definable solutions, you might ask? "We are aware of the issue and are monitoring players experiencing it". IE: NO.

-Am I watching Netflix or connected to the internet using only twist-ties and a potato battery? No.

I thought Grand Theft Auto 5 had to worst network infrastructure / user-interface for online gaming. WELL GUESS AGAIN fuckERS, that crown has now been transfered to Destiny.

I'm probably in the minority, but I'd love starting out from 0 on the new subclass. That RPG nerd in me loves a good grind. I personally just wish they'd bring back an XP bar, even if you could turn it off for people who are sick of it. I love visual indicators that show I'm making progress. I have an alt account that I go on every now and then to just dick around on with underleveled characters.

 
I just read that. 20 dollars for that shit? Really? I thought they were trying to make the Destiny community less angry? At this point I think I'm on the bandwagon with everyone else and I don't even know if I want TTK. Thank god Fallout 4 is almost here.

 
idk man...I'm fine with just getting the regular expansion and the founder stuff and flipping the CE cause I dont care about the noob capes or whatever. Like I said before its just a noob marker.

 
Those VIP rewards look pretty cool. I like the dark tiger stripe theme going on there, and best of all ITS FREE.

$20 dollars for some shaders, emotes, and exotic class items seem a bit steep, considering you paid that much for Crotas End and HoW DLC. They need to show off those emotes before i put down any money.

Do exotic class items mean you cant wear other exotic armor?

So let me get this straight:

The Taken King, digitally, costs $40.

Destiny: TTK, at retail, costs $60 and includes the base-game + season pass #1 (for essentially $20 extra).

Destiny: TTK Collectors Edition, at retail, is $80 and includes the above PLUS bonus loot AND a physical Strange Coin.

Destiny: TTK Digital Collectors Edition, digitally (obv), is also $80 and includes the above MINUS the physical Strange coin.

And finally, the bonus loot from the CE sold digitally AND separately, is $20.

Is that all lining up right? Did I miss something?

My thoughts are in the realm of "I wonder if TTK retail will have a different SKU than the base game, and if so, couldn't I just buy that from Best Buy w/ GCU for $48, redeem the code, and trade the game back for like ~$35-40?".

I can't be the only person thinking about that.

Indeed it is, they really think that their fanbase are just junkies dumb enough to pay anything for their crap... We might be destiny junkies (the comunity is amazing) but we are certainly not stupid.
For them to think that that was an actual apology, the fuckass Smith saying that that's just who he is so deal with it and thinking that selling a couple of megs of code for $20 bucks would make everything right, makes me think... Are they really that stupid? Or they just think that we are that stupid?

You cant even save all the shaders and capes in the game now, whats the point of buying more you probably wont wear because you will be wearing sexy tiger pants forever. Anyone wearing the xp bonus capes will automatically be known as having just got the game...or being named professorstotch lol.

PS no special red bulls here yet.

 
I dont really understand the three class specific emotes. So you can only use a specific one on your titan only? Does it only change the dance, or does it change all 4 up, down, left, and right moves? Has that been explained? Honestly i love my titan fist pump and my human male warlock dance. So the only dance i would change might be my awoken female hunter dance. But i love the bow/wave. So im not really sure what im getting if i did buy this. I dont want to plop down 20 bucks to find out i dont like the dance the hunter/awoken female gets.

 
Its hilarious they are asking $20 when that's how much the whole expansion should cost with that stuff in there for free. The compromise/apology is to make more money off the backs of the loyal fans that are completionist collectors with OCD. They are the ones who would actually throw money at the screen and Bungie is just taking advantage of them. Cheap asses like me will just skip that kind of thing (or make a quick buck off the physical CE to subsidize my dlc) but some people cant do it mentally. I was thinking about it the other day and I bought two ghost editions and sold one on ebay and came out about even on destiny to begin with. Now if I flip my CE I'll break even if I get more than $40 or so over MSRP and just get the dlc by itself.

This is the best practically free game ever.

I also have to add that in my opinion charging the same amount for digital and physical is a scam. No printing, manufacturing, or shipping costs should equal some savings for the consumer.

I always buy physical so I can sell it when done to recoup at least some of the money spent even if its only a few dollars...of course I'm not a hardcore collector and don't have a problem letting stuff go when I'm finished with it.

Wait for videos, but I would say don't buy it...also why would you want to change the sexy dance :nottalking: . Heck $20 for emotes and shaders makes the $40 for 6 months of DLC in Arkham Knight seem cheap

 
I'm not trying to justify the pricing of this stuff since we have talked about it a bunch, but if you want the Physical CE either to collect or to break up and sell to offset your costs you should probably throw a preorder in for it since it appears that it will be limited to just GS.  You can always cancel it and get your money back if another retailer offers it or you change your mind.  The Ghost edition was one of those rare CE that actually turns out to be pretty scarce so probably a good guess that this one won't be sitting on shelves a few months after release.

 
If tracking Nightfall drops is still a thing, I got...

-exotic shard (aka Lucky Raspberry)

-Etheric Light :bouncy: (first time I've seen it happen for anyone)

Also tried another Black Hammer run.  In 3 tries, I got...

-sharded on

-shards (hunter helm)

-energy (heavy machine gun)

And 2 tries on hard got me...

-shards and Word

-energy and Fang

At this point, I think I'd have better odds getting another Fatebringer than Black Hammer.

 
It took me forever to get a black hammer. Just say it's the last time you'll try for it and like magic it will pop. Trust me. 60% of the time, it works every time.

Well, assuming Comcast doesn't shit the bed, I am totally up for trying to knock out some more Skolas runs. For some reason I've got a bee in my bonnet to get a Void scout rifle, or Solar hand-cannon.

My connection DID just get interrupted. Not as I was about the kill the Wolf-pack mini boss, but RIGHT as i walked up to the Etheric chest....

That is some fucking suspect timing, lol.

 
Dunno if this is the tread for this but Redbull Destiny campaign is about to be live and I have some codes that I'm trying to sell for it. It grants a xp boost similar to a telemetry but +50% experience for 30 mins and an exclusive multi-part quest when TTK comes out. PM me if interested.

Dude, when I ran it right after reset with 2 other guys I saw one guy get an etheric light twice and the other guy once. I ended up with 2 exotics, but they were ones I already had (Ruin Wings with a worse roll, and a Plan C from a legendary engram). My third was that stupid Pest Control Matrix gun that I seem to get repeatedly from Nightfalls since HoW came out. I have yet to get a single etheric light myself but it's not like I need them - I have 14 sitting in my Vault after ascending a ton of stuff. And I don't even get very many through Trials (probably no more than 4 or 5 total so far). But I have done the 34 3 times every week plus several 35's (though not since they removed the burn).
 
My co-workers go through Red Bull like water so I should end up with some extra codes that I will give out in here along with the Xbox thread.  Also the special cans are only exclusive to 7-11 for a month so they will be in WalMart and other stores in August.  The promotional price is 2/$5.33 so please don't buy codes for this.   I'm sure there will be plenty available once they hit stores next week.  The content doesn't even unlock until TTK releases and what do any of us even need the XP boost for at this point.

 
I finally got the Celestial Nighthawk for my hunter today, took only 2 tries. I have a titan also and if the boots are good, I'll pick them up. Bought my 1st Red Death as well

 
I would say the boots arent that great. Havent used em that much though. Many other titan exotics that are better to use. But if you have enough coins go for it.

 
Finished a Skolas kill last night and got squat for my time.

No cipher

No weapon

No shader

Did pull Her Benevolence from the big chest. But considering the space issue, haven't seen any good perks to make it worth keeping.

Played 2 PoE last night with Tukai and got Patience & Time. Bought Heart of Praxic Fire (for my non-existent Warlock) and Titan boots from Xur, along with an exotic shard to upgrade my Hunter helmet. Got yet another Titan helmet from the 1 engram I bought, but this time it was one I didn't have... the one with the stone face of the motherfucker from Legends of the Hidden Temple.
 
seriously. I work for 9 straight hours trying to sell my crap thru a garage sale and all I want to do tonight is play Destiny. I don't even want to play, I just want to get new Titan boots and a helmet engram.

AND PSN IS  fuck DOWN!

So..... fuck trials.

2 games we had teams trying to DC us with DDoS shenanigans, another 2 games where the lag was sooooo bad we were unloading shotguns into them to no avail, then we got "Error: Currant" (?) when we finally got matched up with a noob team of 32/33s.

Went 3-3, never touching this broken mode ever again.

Also went through ~20+ Helmet Engrams, and no Celestial Nighthawk. I've tapped out my Shards/Energy for mote conversion as well, so I guess I'm shit outta luck.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The rewards just don't justify the effort. It used to be that if you wanted the best gear and weapons, you had to do level 30 VoG. That was the only way you could get to 30. Now you can get to max level in 1000 different ways. Elemental primaries are cool, but still not as cool as Fatebringer and that's a lot easier to get than doing Skolas or hoping to go flawless in trials.

I was just looking to go 5-0 for the Boots on my Titan & Warlock, but I'm not going to bother unless some heavy drinking is involved. My thoughts are the same as yours in regards to the loot rewards: They aren't worth the time spent.

A primary with a random burn that i MIGHT use in a burn-specific scenario is not worth the head-ache and ulcer inducing rage grenade that ToO detonates in my face every time I try to play it.
