HoW has been a mixed bag for me.
And at the end of the day, it all comes down to the rewards/gear. With everything they made right on this DLC, they had to go and screw up the weapon drops... specifically the elemental primary weapon drops.
RNG is bad enough when it comes to just getting a weapon to drop. Now you gotta hope your luck is good enough to get a weapon with good perks. There's no set consistency for the end-game weapons that you can get from PoE (aside from the ciphers), unlike VoG or Crota weapons.
My drop from last night is a perfect example:
-Wolves' Leash II, with solar burn and the chance to suppress a captain's abilities (really???). A solar weapon with a perk for a ARC shielded enemy... awesome
So I've now got a weapon with a stupid perk that isn't gonna replace my Vision of Confluence. Means I've gotta run more Skolas kills and hope RNGeezy isn't such an A-hat the next time around.
Seems I'm not the only one who is kind of bored of HoW. I will say there was a pleasant upswing tonight: did the NuSkolas fight, and it was lengthy but felt more like an actual encounter. MUCH better than the other 90% of PoE where it just devolves into "hide in corner > snipe / gjally > occasionally rotate to opposing side of arena". That said, the upswing was all 3 of my group got an elemental Primary to drop!
Saw a Solar scout rifle with captain-ability disruptor (big meh), Arc auto rifle (with great perks), and I recieved an Arc Pulse Rifle.....my fourth. (Praedyths Timepiece, Oversoul Edict, Messenger (Adept) from the lighthouse, and now the House Judgement one). It's waaaaaay low impact, but im hoping to test it out later.
Also got the Purifier Robes from the 35 PoE chest, which was a nice bonus.
Yup, the revised Skolas fight is now challenging without feeling cheap.
And YES... I'm stoked to have gotten an elemental primary drop from Skolas. They're more real than BigFoot at this point

...
even it it was the crappy solar scout (VoC doesn't even acknowledge it's presence). That ARC auto-rifle though, that woulda been nice.
I really dont understand judgements chance...turn in two things and get one regular thing? is that how it works or is there a chance for something better? Edit: watched youtubes and I still dont get the point. Is it if you just dont want to buy what he is selling?
Judgement's Chance is similar to Xur-grams, only worse because it takes rarer (for the time being, that is) materials to try your luck.
I've done it about 7x now. Mostly got regular weapons(non-elemental) that got sharded. My best drops were armors, which both dropped while on my warlock. One time I got gloves with pure Discipline and the other time I got boots with pure Intellect & the heavy ammo perk. Pretty good when Variks was only selling Strength armor.
