Bought two engrams and got the new warlock man dress on the second one.

Tried 35 with two experienced players...they kept dying and leaving me alone on the 4th part...then one of them took us to orbit and rage quit after about 6 or 8 tries without saying anything. At one point I rezzed and got them both back up only for them to die again and then I died before I had another super. Titans are supposed to stay alive!

Xur needs to sell a new helmet or helmet engrams again. I still need all of them.

No one wants to play trials with you if you tell them up front you have never played it LOL. So if you are new just lie if you want to try it I guess. 

Did nightfall and 32 to help someone level up a 29 character.

Still owe langdon a game or two this weekend. Poor guy we started to get a nightfall together and I had to go the other day then last night I invited him to do the 35 and the other guy already had a 3rd. I'm glad now I didn't waste his time on the 35...over 2 hours for nothing.

 
The 35 is pretty easy with a good group now, but if you have 1 bad player it's pretty hard and with 2 it's basically impossible. I joined a group at Skolas as a replacement. They had a titan who just wanted to camp at the snipe spot in the back right that some groups used to burn him down before the changes. He never moved out of that spot and I ran over to him twice and asked him to take the debuff and he wouldn't do it. Luckily he left after my first try with them and we found a new guy who knew what he was doing and we got it on the first try with him. The other guy told us that he had been trying for hours with that titan and another guy and they never came close. He thought we were some kind of Destiny gods because we did it so easily.

If you want to try again later and see me on I can help out. Variks finally finished with my second Cipher, so I need to farm some points on my hunter and would be down to help some CAGs while I do it.
 
Yeah one of the titans wanted to do his own thing on the 4th part and kept dying then the other titan would try and revive him and die. Then they would DO THE SAME SHIT AGAIN THE NEXT TIME despite us both telling him as soon as the target died to head back to the other side with us to regroup. Nope hes going to be a baller and stay by himself on the opposite side and make us wipe again.

Operation lighthouse is in full effect. We win game after game after game, and im talking easy wins 5-0. Then once again, i get 6-0 with the loss boon still intact and only need 2 more wins to get to the lighthouse. Thats when this game gives me two teams that wont die. So i lose two games in a row ruining my shot to get to the lighthouse once again. This is the third time i have gotten to 6-0 with the loss boon still intact, and the third time i end up getting two straight losses to fuck me over. Im seriously done with this game mode if i cant get into the lighthouse this weekend. Im getting batman tuesday and retiring from the game except to do nightfalls cos i still need exotic boots for hunter and titan. But other than that im done. So this weekend is my last shot.

 
Made it to 7-0 but used the forgive a loss. Bought the win 1 get 2 wins to get to the lighthouse if we won the next match. Match was 4-4 with one round standing between me and the lighthouse, and it all came crashing down due to one fucking titan smash that killed all three of us somehow. So fucking close! I want to cry. :(

 
7th number are you still online? Add me and we can attempt to flawless ToO. We should have a really good shot if one of my friends is online as well.

Well I preordered TTK to take advantage of that $15 back PSN promo. I'm not going to play Destiny until at the earliest, 9/1. I'll get on if Xur actually sells something that's a drastically better roll that what I already have, or if there's something new happening.
 
I think I'm leaning towards taking a break too, and I didnt even play yesterday. I just dont care about Trials or PoE that much...I actually liked the last expansion and its weapons way better. Everything except hard crota...that was just balls. My ascended VOG weapons are the best things in the game.

I'll probably continue playing just to hang out and shoot the shit with my Destiny pals. Hell, I made a clan for it and I might as well continue to socialize. Gotta max out dat Grimoire score, dawg!

Though seriously, I'm nearly finished doing that too lol. Mostly just need Salvage/Rumble/Skirmish wins, some Ogre/Hydra kills, plus a Fate of All Fools exotic bounty to actually drop for me lol. WHICH, btw(!) it actually IS on the drop table for possible Exotic vanguard missives now(or w/e they are called).

Yeah ive been unlucky with HoW primarys with element damage. 2 scout rifles with arc from ToO, and then got an arc pulse rifle from killing Skolas. So they keep giving me guns that i kind of already have. (Fang of Ir Yut + Oversoul Edict/Timepiece).

I'm really glad you got there, hehe that was driving you nuts. All I need from ToO is the Titan chest piece and I am set. Not really looking for guns and other crap, just really like that piece.

Did 2 PoE last night....I was bored to death. I think it is going to be NFs and some ToO only going forward

Man, I've only played Destiny once in the past two weeks and it was to pickup a few new things from Xur. I gave up on ToO and the Lighthouse quest since it seems too daunting and I could never get a good group together. Same thing with PoE and beating Skolas, ugh. I'll probably still jump on to play Destiny when I won't be diving into Arkham Knight. I still have VoG and Crota weapons I'd like to get along with at some point completing the HoW endgame stuff. 

Congrats to The 7th Number! Super jealous man.

 
I finally got the Flawless Raider achievement last week on the XB1 and my desire to continue playing dropped significantly even with the announcement of the new expansion.    Add in the fact that they pretty much admitted that they aren't going to be doing anything about additional vault space anytime soon and the desire to collect everything has diminished.

PoE is already boring and the elemental weapon rewards that rarely drop from Skolas aren't even worth trying for at this point.  Trials isn't for everyone and even if I could get the rewards I don't have the vault space to keep everything.

At this point I'll probably not be doing much more than Nightfall and 32 and 34 PoE on a weekly basis.  Maybe Iron Banner, but I'm not sure it is worth the time since I have enough etheric light to ascend most of my stuff and the new weapon perks aren't even as good as the older versions.

What they are going to do to keep people interested in this game for the next 3 months...

7th number you should really try out the Arc Scholar. It packs a punch and has better perks than fang or over soul edict. I think the scholar, fate bringer, and wolves leash are my go to weapons for arc burns. Also it's pretty crazy that out of the 12 available guns in ToO you got the same one twice. Glad I could help.

And yea I agree with everyone else. Only thing I enjoy in this game at this point is control and ToO/Elimination. I really enjoy the PVP of this game. When it's not lagging....

Congrats seven, Jimmy and I were holding you back from greatness. The scout rifle is the last one I need from the lighthouse and I keep getting that damn jewels of osiris every time I open that chest. Witcher 3 is great and then batman is coming out this week, so those two games will keep me for the summer into fall. Destiny is gonna be put on hold for a while but I'll probably still play trials. I have 2 PoE bounties on 2 of my characters and I don't know when i'll feel like farming PoE for the points seeing that it's not fun.

Not sure if you knew, Revanchist, but for those elder ciphers you can just kill the level 34 PoE boss and then everyone suicide. Rinse and repeat 3 times and that bounty is done. Takes maybe 30 minutes to do it all. It's still boring but beats doing the whole thing 3 times.

I got the scout rifle with Solar, wish it had been void tough. Its good, but no hair trigger does make it inferior to vision of confluence (imo). Wither 3 is indeed great and really need to stop playing Destiny and put more time into that game

 
I still haven't been to the lighthouse either. Was real close that one time with 7 and Rev when I didn't get a new card and that's it. Congrats on making it though, 7.

I like to get a Solar Jewel of Osiris, a void scout would be cool also. I'll take anything at this point. been 8-1 too many times.

The Arc pulse is what you want from Skolas though, especially if it has a Fallen captain-based ability (since they have Arc shields). I got one with the Stun Captain perk and that is actually pretty nice to use in Fallen levels in the PoE and on some Nightfalls. Of course it seems kind of pointless that the guns you get from PoE are mostly just useful in, well, PoE. That has killed the motivation for me on beating Skolas much more. I have yet to try it with the no-burn. Part of that is because none of the people I play with want to run it any more. I did get a truly useless weapon from Skolas though: a scout rifle with solar burn (with I think the Dreg perk). That is completely outclassed by Vision of Confluence.

And getting to 8-1 (twice) and 7-0 (and more often to 3-0 or 4-0 but not making it to 5 for the armor piece) has just made me even more frustrated with Trials. I've been tantalizingly close to the Lighthouse but also beaten down so severely in other runs. It seems doable and impossible all at the same time. I'd just be happy getting all the armor but I'm only half way there and the people I play with are dropping off the game like crazy. It seems like all the good PvP players just want to go flawless and bail once you get a loss. I had this happen at 4-1 last night - the guy quit and wouldn't help us get to 5 for the chest piece. Since I'm pretty much just average at PvP I'm in a bad spot - I don't want to ruin a good player's flawless run but at the same time I'm only trying to get to 5 to get the armor.

I'm still kind of pissed at Bungie for fracturing the user base like this (not to mention breaking up our Raid groups with no 6-player content in HoW).

I'm not spending $40 for some trinkets (both physical and in-game). I really don't get why they didn't put out a Taken King-only CE for like $60. I might have gotten that - but just the fact that they expect us to rebuy the base game to get the extras is enough to make me pass on it.

Now, do I even bother with Taken King at all (for $40)?

I couldn't agree more. They can try to sell this proclaimed CE "Value" all they want but smart gamers can see the hidden agenda. Bungie is just trying to squeeze an extra $40 out by tempting us with limited edition items. It's a great deal for new players but a knife jab to the back of those that have been playing since day one. Now if they also included the ability to increase your vault storage space that might make me consider buying it. I kind of expected them to do something that, too bad they can't give us two separate storage locations of the same size. It would be kind of a pain, but worth it to be able to keep more weapons and gear.

Overall I'm on the fence about getting TTK right now. Since there are no pre-order bonuses and the interview claimed that we'll be excited about TTK once more is revealed, I'm going to continue to wait until more leaks or information comes out from Bungie.

Yup and if you're ever in a pinch and can't get a fireteam together, there's a PoE that starts round 1 with a boss fight (I think it's the Qodron PoE, whenever it rolls around). Just kill that boss and then wipe (with a rocket) and repeat. Though this would definitely take longer.

That scout rifle is almost as bad as mine; Solar burn with the Captain perk.

+1 on the fractured fireteams. My friends were the main reason I kept playing. It gets really old, quick doing things solo (for me anyway)

Not surprised by the arrogance. This is Luke Smith and I remember him being this way going back to his days at 1Up.

What is surprising is that those responses are coming from Luke. These complaints, we rightfully have, are ALL things that a pre-Bungie Luke Smith would have ripped them for... hell, he made a name for himself by ripping on Halo(Bungie) .

Anyway, nothing he said has convinced me to rush out and buy TTK. I'll just hold off and see what's up in September. I'm more or less in the same place as many others and have slowly been going away from the game.

HoW rewards just aren't much a driving force and I have 99% of what I want from Vog and Crota.

 
As great as it was to be able to ascend Fatebringer and all those other great VoG (and some Crota) weapons, I think they actually made a mistake allowing that. There is no incentive to get the new stuff, especially since the perks are, in general, worse. Had they kept the VoG weapons at 300 and had only the Skolas and Trials stuff be 365 I think a lot more people would have stuck with the game.

Now, I don't think it would have been better - I like being able to ascend the old stuff. But without the new stuff having any special qualities, it becomes sort of pointless to grind for it. There was a reason to grind for Crota gear because it had higher damage/light levels than VoG gear. But not so with the new stuff.

It sounds like they are doing away with that in Taken King. Unfortunately that makes the collection of Etheric Light and upgrading old stuff pointless come September. But it also alleviates the lack of Vault space - we can delete this stuff all over again. Yay.

I'm not sure what the best solution to all this is - making these choices isn't easy for Bungie. Do they let us carry all that old gear forward indefinitely? That seems unsustainable. But then why did they give us that option for this 4-month period only to take it away? There is no right answer here - there are pluses and minuses for both ways. This isn't like the no-brainer idea of producing a Taken King CE with just the expansion and extras for $20 less than the full version. THAT is something they should have done from the get-go.

(FYI I just ascended my old-school Queen's Guard gear this weekend - it was kind of cool to be able to bring that up to date though I'm not sure if or when I'll ever use it. I guess on Patrol).

Talk about loot I would have been happy to chase down. I really wanted a shot at getting that armor for my warlock and hunter. Missed opportunity.

I ascended my titan helm and was regularly wearing it until I got the trials helm. I'd ascend the chest piece if it wasn't for the fact I wear armamentarium so much.

 
They just need to have weapons that are worth using in PvE. They could have literally changed the burns on the the original VOG weapons and everything would have been fine, and that's doing the least amount of work. There is no must have weapon that could be obtained from PoE like their was in VoG (praedyths and fate bringer) and Crota's raid (black hammer).

I think they are taking the balancing aspect of the game too serious to the point where none of the newer weapons really distinguish themselves from the previously obtainable weapons. The auto rifle nerf was unwarranted because all they needed to do was change the iron banner bounty that forced players to use auto rifles, but they instead decide to render an entire weapon class unusable and made hand cannons the only viable primary weapon type in PvP.

Taken dlc should just release newer models of older guns with different burns and names. Void and arc burn gjally type rockets would be great.

Got my titan chest piece from ToO (thanks 7th and Jimmy!!). And just when I thought I couldn't care less, 7th shows me the gloves for the whole set ...  :drool: .

Man the game designers at Bungie are complete D-bags (don't know the name of the fat bearded one, but wow I despise that guy). Give me all the BS you want, I will not pre-order TTK at all, I just won't fall for it.

 
Made it to the lighthouse for the 3rd time this weekend. So now all my characters have the emblem and getting to the lighthouse is something i dont care about anymore. I ended up getting my 3rd scholar scout rifle, but at least this one was void.

Did nightfalls and got Etheric Light, No Backup Plans with worse stats, and Legendary Engram that turned into an FWC Hand Cannon that i dismantled.

Going to go buy Batman Arkham Knight and trade my Xbox 360 into gamestop towards an Xbox One today. So long Destiny......    just kidding ill be back sooner than i think.
