Destiny (PS3/PS4) Official Thread

Trials was somewhat easy today. Got to the lighthouse and once again received a jewels of osiris. All I need for the year 1 emblem are the golden chests. Right now I'm waiting for CDR to patch witcher before I pick it up again, they are supposed to be adding alot of new features and fix some minor bugs. Got a free router from tmobile, which was awesome because I just found out about it 4 daya ago. I also downloaded rocket league hopefully its good.

That Level 32 PoE was pretty quick and painless. Took us approximately 40 minutes. Langdon invited a random from LFG who was cool and capable. Thanks again, Langdon!

Warlock boots, here I come!

Did you take Jimmy with you?

Jimmy and I played Trials with some terrible random off Reddit and with a guy I played with a few weeks ago. We basically just got wrecked for an hour or 2. I don't think we ever won a game. We would have won a few if the first guy wasn't so terrible. He had something like 4 kills in 6 games and left after he put up 0 in 3 straight.

Same here, I can't wait for the new patch to come out, but I can't stop playing either. I went back to my PS3 and finally finished Arkham City so might as well invest some time in Arkham Knight tonight

Tried helping with a nightfall but they were 33 and 32 and it did not work out. Tank room death everytime the rush comes. They wanted help with POE so we did 34 and then 32...it was pretty painless but 32 boss is still kind of unfun...hiding in a corner and shotgunning a shield bubble is kinda boring.

I got a judgements chance again thinking it cant be as useless as before so I turned an armor core and weapon core into...gloves....wtf how is this a reward??? has to be the most useless shit ever.

Well I made it to the light house two times this week (warlock and hunter) and both times I get the summoner with void and arc... Though I was really happy just to make it because this is not an easy map for me and the first time it was on the rotation I couldn't even make it to five.

fuck this game.

fuck Skolas.

fuck the best solution anyone can come up with is "make sure everyone has a Gjallarhorn."
I saw you guys playing Skolas for a REALLY long time. Was wondering how it went. I have not played it this week but I figured Small Arms would be a big help to thin out the enemies.

Not on Skolas - doesn't really matter for him.

Now, Quodron, I don't get. it is so easy to just nuke him off the bat before the first containment field and yet in two LFG groups I was in they insisted on doing it the hard (or really, boring and long) way despite having Gjallarhorns.

So has everyone on PS4 seen a huge drop-off in people playing the game? On Xbox One I was on at 9:30 Pacific last night and not a single person was playing. That has to be a first for a Saturday night. I just checked my phone now and once again no one is playing. And a big chunk of my friend's list is people I met playing the game who were pretty hardcore about it.

I still want to do Trials, but my crew has quit. I dread trying LFG for that but it might be my only choice. I hate this map but I just want to get the Titan helm if possible.

Skolas is a chump...well kind of. Beat him for the first time, and this is the first time I've tried 35. Skated all the way to Skolas and we wiped a couple times with the poison thing. Decided on a strat of rotating sides with one on one side and two on the other then the poisoned one rotates and you trade off like that. After we did the mines we all stayed on one side and it was just a matter of finishing him off. All in all it only took 3 tries on the boss. Not bad since I was new and getting to poison stage doesn't take that long. Now that I know you can do it and not take 4 hours or 7 hours or whatever it was taking when the expansion came out I'd be happy to do it again sometime with you guys that still need it for your super cool kids club emblem.

Having the boots for fallen that give you agility ruled. My titan was jumping miles in the air like a magical unicorn.

That shader also looks good with eternal warrior...

I have about 50 people on all the time on ps4 with at least 20 or so playing destiny at any given time, but I have added tons of dudes from all my lfg runs so now its strangers I know if you know what I mean...

I did 35 with one clan mate and one lfg and I added the lfg dude cause he seemed chill. So thats how I have so many people online...

I'd be willing to learn the ropes in trials with a group but I'm not a pvp master...my kd is like 1.25 or so with my hunter and the others are about an even 1. I pretty much only do IB.

Skolas isn't too bad, everyone just has to do decent.  Start by running to the left side platform, keep all team mates together.  When Skolas gets too close to the platform or ON the platform, rotate to the right side of the arena platform.  When Skolas gets close, rotate.

Basically, shoot Skolas until the ads spawn.  Stop shooting Skolas, clear all ads.  Ads clear?  Shoot Skolas until ads, repeat.  Obviously, the ads spawn at health intervals, which makes this fight more time consuming than challenging.

Poison begins.  Continue same strategy but manage poison.

50% life, mines.  Have a Titan or invisible Hunter clear a mine if you can't all reach it.  If you can all reach a mine and there aren't many enemies around, just all step in the circle it will take very little time.

Mines clear?  Clear ads.  Shoot Skolas until more ads come out.  Clear ads.  Rinse, repeat.

At low health, another mine phase will begin.  At this time, pop weapons of light and dps the boss.  You should have Skolas killed before the mines even appear.  Then all the enemies will despawn, and you can just leisurely disable mines for the victory.

We failed twice trying to disable mines and battle ads on the last mine wave.  We succeeded first try when we burned Skolas and then disabled mines.

Gally is not necessary, but helpful.  Black Hammer/Ice Breaker can do excellent damage.  The Crota launcher is good if you are running Ice Breaker.  Bring synths.

He really isn't that hard at all.

edit: Also Quodron is a joke and so easy.  Just go to the left safe (ish) area.  The eye will spawn very close to you.  It's not necessary if you have Found Verdict/Invective/etc to kill the eye, but it helps and makes things less stressful.  You can either burn the boss right at the start, or take it slow which isn't a problem.

Burning seems riskier but anyway its doable if everyone pays attention. We may have had more luck because we had two titan bubbles and saint 14 on both titans to provide cover during mobs.

The last burn is easy because he has less than 25% health. When the mines are announced, they don't even appear for about another 30 seconds and only the first set of ads come out (shanks and dregs, some captains). It's actually a lot less risky than actually sitting on the mines, especially if you are taking a Warlock through.

Warlocks are actually the most useless for Skolas, but radiance can save the team when the poison doesn't go smoothly. Sometimes you just get overrun and have to split up, leaving someone poisoned to death.

What time did you start? Friday night is a terrible time, all the try hards are on playing Trials.
Saturday at 9ish AM. However, the lag was HORRIBLE. More so than normal. Every game, and I mean all 8 matches, there was a 2-3 second lag between shots and kills being counted. The one that stood out the most, was one match where I had to rez a downed teammate over 6 times before he actually got up,(his orb was still visible on screen though) all the while defending myself from an entire team rushing the church blink shotgunning while lagging. It was a close match 4-4 but in the end we lost that game but we had mercy still so everything was all good.

Got to 7 wins with mercy used and went to grab the 2 win buff. Of course that prompted the game to match us up with a team of Hovey clones and we got dominated 5-1 by a team of amazing snipers. I think I'm going to have to start a new clan called Lighthouse Virgins for all the people like me who just can't seem to get there.

Son and I did a few strike playlists yesterday. Second one, he gets another Gjallahorn. I swear I almost punched the screen. He has played a 10th of the amount of time I have and he has 2 and I'm sitting on zero

Wednesday is VOG HM for anyone who wants to

Thursday is NM Crota and HM Crota

Go Dylan! I got my 2 Gjallarhorns within weeks of each other as well. Maybe I'll luck out doing strike playlists with my (now Level 30) Warlock.

You're doing both normal and hard Crota? If you guys are playing at 8 P.M. Central again, I would like to join up for both raids on hard. Not sure about doing both versions of Crota back to back. Still need the Crota completion to be credited to my account, I could use the experience, and I effin' like you guys.

I may try to do the Crota NM earlier in the week depending on who I can find. Do you have time to do a nightfall tonight? I got my Titan levelled up to where he can do it as well now.

Sure. I never ran it with my Hunter and even though your Titan is underleveled, it shouldn't be too bad with me and (presumably) Dylan at 34.

We made it on Saturday late afternoon/night, the first time we made it it was rather easy taking in count two of us were not that good in PvP (me and John) we didn't have to use the mercy, but in the second one with the other two fireteam members being super good it felt a lot harder because of the lag... there was one match when we are one on one he runs for the rez and I shotgun him while doing it, I wait for the kill to be counted (because I was just seeing two skulls on the score) and all of the sudden the other guy spawns (2-3 second later) just to shotgun me in the back, that match we lost and we had to reset the ticket, after that we just encountered a team that felt pro and beat us 5-1 but we bought the three buffs at the beginning and all was good.

Dragon strikes have a higher chance of exotic rewards. I've not spent much time doing them but I think I should start doing more to reap glimmer and engrams and stuff. Patrol is just so much more chill.

I was looking thru my trophies and realized that I still need the "Complete a Strike with 2 members of your clan" trophy.  So, if anyone else needs that who's in the "Dance Guardian Dance" clan, let me know.

(although I kind want to run it with tukai and deon...just for the luck to rub off)

I've been farming dragon strikes to get the Hopscotch Pilgrim pulse rifle for the past few days with no luck.  Can I borrow Deon for that?

He's home during the summer (daytimes also evening), if you need him for a strike just shoot him a message or get with me and I'll have him hop on.

Overall chill weekend of Destiny'g...

-Got into a Trial group and made it to 8 wins. All I really wanted was the Hunter helm since I skipped it the first time around.

-Knocked out a few different PoE's, with nothing good dropping. Did finish another cipher though

-Cleaned up the last few gold chests

Not much else going on after that. Like IO mentioned most of my friends have left Destiny. Still have a core group but even that's shrinking.

PvP lag has worn out it's welcome and the new PvE rewards just aren't as enticing as the old stuff.

I tried to fire up Titanfall last night, but the install and updates took FOREVER! My Destiny playing on the PS3 probably didn't help speed things along ;) . I got thru the tutorial for it and hope to play some real matches tonight. But 1st impressions... it feels real SLOW compared to the frantic pace in Destiny.

This makes me wonder if Destiny is gonna ruin a bunch of other shooters for me

So that's where it drops. I seem to always get crushed by it in crucible.

Going to try my luck at PoE 28 when I get home.  Some are saying its dropping for them there and not on strikes.  At least I can take a break from strikes.  They are so boring.

Crazy, I've never heard of the Hopscotch Pilgrim pulse rifle, but now I want one.

I might be up for some Raids this week as well, although it depends how my work schedule shakes out.

Like many others, I haven't been playing Destiny much lately since I've been tackling my game backlog, but I think I can safely dive back in. I think...

I've been into pulse rifles lately...I rolled the IB one to have third eye, braced frame, and hidden hand...its dope and I don't even have it leveled.

I wish they had full auto as a roll...i hate switching over from one of my fully auto ones and then forgetting I have to pound the trigger.

You can also get the Dry Rot 32 in dragon strikes.  I re-rolled it to get full auto, its a legendary 4th Horseman, with better range and stability.

Anyone care to help out with Uzrok bounty? Still stuck on it with my Level 32 hunter (was late to the DLC)

Up for whatever after (also have a level 34 Titan and level 32 Warlock)

Unless the pack of wolves and warsat hit at the same time. Then it'll get a little hairy :)
This is true...but what are the chances? I hung out there yesterday just screwing around and farming and an event and wolves only coincided one time and the wolves were on the far side and didn't get near the satellite. The real problem is if you try and do it when the enemies move against each other. Then shit is on!

I want those weapons soooo bad but I find the strikes playlist the most boring part of Destiny... And on top of that I don't have any weapon parts

You just solved your own problem. Play the playlist you get engrams all the time so you will get all the weapon parts you would ever need plus new guns. I also farm glimmer by using the black wax idols and ether seeds and stuff. Back in my day they would make you fight the nexus 3 times in a row and we liked it!

So it's just my awesome RNG luck that triggers warsat/enemies/wolfpack around the same time

As for weapon parts, use the same trick of equipping armors when you're going to turn in bounties. It'll usually double the parts once you dismantle them and no need to actually drop glimmer into the item.
