Fat Princess - Gen Discussion & Info - $15 - 7/30

Actually, I think local coop would be pretty awkward in this game. It would either have to be split screen, which might work out ok, or you would have to always be on the same screen.

This is so much fun, haha.

I can't stop laughing when I see people running around with the fattest princess, or turning a huge group of people into chickens.

Sooo this is strictly single player per PS3? I see that there is no local co-op, but what about online with two people on the same ps3?

i think i saw two guys on my team that had the same name, thus verifying that there is online coop on the same ps3. i might be wrong.

Downloading this right now. I haven't really payed much attention to all of the bugs that were evident in the beta, and I could have payed a bit more attention in this thread, but is there any potential game-break bugs for this game?

I'm up for any Fat Princess CAG nights.

Yeah, 1 player per console. I'm having a bit of a snag trying to connect to other players right now. Sigh.

I beat Legend of the Fat Princess

when this game lags, it lags baaad.

Also, something left over from the beta is that it is irritatingly difficult to repair the doors.

Hey, just downloaded this game. When I'm able to connect it's alot of fun.

My Player ID is ZombieQQ as well so if any of you guys wanna add me as a friend that would be great.
Can't get into a game to save my life.

Ah well, maybe later.
me neither, playing story mode.. getting fabulous instead.

If you're having a lot of trouble connecting, make your own game. Play with bots until people join. I made a game and had it filled up w/ 32 players in less than 15 minutes.

I am having trouble too. So I'll just download this demo for now.

Legend of the Fat Princess is pretty easy until the last 2 levels when you realize how stupid the AI is. ESPECIALLY the last level. Just...ARGH! That one took me 20 minutes by itself.

Oh well, at least against bots you can earn Trophies if you host your own online game. I'm not kidding. How do you think I got Little Pecker? :)

Nice to hear so many CAG impressions. Since I won't have access to a PS3 until Saturday, can someone detail how good and bad the online connections/matchmaking are? Can clans be created? And how good is voice chat? All in all, I want to hear some pros and cons before I consider hosting Fat Princess Nights. If online impressions sound good, I don't mind hosting this Sunday along with creating a new thread in the process.

Formerly hosting SSF2T:HDR has still left a bad taste on me (damn you Backbone!). I hope this game speaks otherwise.

I think the AI is pretty good actually. They rescued the princess every time lol.

I like it. The online is a bit laggy and chaotic but it's a good buy for $15. I suggest you go through the story first to get a grasp on the game before heading online. What I don't like at all is the map with the lava. Wayyyy too difficult.
stupid question, but how do you find the demo for this game? I can't seem to find it
You have to rub some blood on your PS3 and pray for the demo to appear in the PS Store. ;)
There isn't a demo for it yet.

Played the first chapter of the Legend of the Fat Princess mode and eventually won, though I had to take over to get some results. Started off as a worker to see if the AI would come through like they did in the beta and that didn't happen, so I moved to warrior once I built everything possible in that level and eventually got in when she was skinny. It's a good idea to drop her when you get resistance and then kill the dudes that are in your way before continuing on with the princess.

There is no clan system, and no party lobby system. You can select to quick join a game, create a game, or join a friend's game.

If you choose to join a friend's game, it gives you a list of friends playing, you select one and it connects you to their game. I didn't see any kind of invite feature, but I didn't really look for one either.

It seems to be tough to join a game right now too, but I think that will get fixed soon. Out of 5 attempts, I got in to one game, the other 4 kicked me back to the main screen after 2-3 minutes of connecting. I created a game and my friend was able to join my instantly and the game filled up in less than 20 minutes.

You can create games and reserve slots for friends so that the game doesn't fill up. For example, I could create a game for 32 players, and make 10 slots friend only, and the other 21 slots would be open to the public.

Havign a game night should not be too much trouble, just have a designated host and make sure everyone has someone playing on their friend list to join the game,

The initial novelty factor rubbed off really quick for me. I played up to the lava level in SP, which forces you to whore resources and zerg early because if you wait too long it'll just turn into a stalemate.

Same thing online, matches are really laggy (no dedicated servers + having individual players with god knows what kind of connection is a terrible idea) and are complete stalemates. Hour + long games... for what?

You can easily get the highest "score" by feeding the princess the whole game, but again... I don't see the point. Neither team is going to win.

Can you reserve slots for friend-invites only? For example, 16-on-16 battle, 20 are friends, 12 are AI, and more friends (not strangers) can join in and occupy the AI slots? Also, what's the smallest game you can make? 1-on-1 or 2-on-2s?

Thanks for the info. I'll create a thread some time tomorrow and start taking PSN IDs and weekly day/time preferences. I'm thinking about Friday, Saturday, or Sundays. Need to cross-reference it with other PS3 Game Nights to avoid losing fanbase. ;)

Dang, another game I wanted to try but can't. Haven't updated since 2.60. Damn these updates and their ability to break PSN.

I'm not sure on the smallest game, I can let you know later after work.

It automatically fills the game with bots (or it did when I made a game), and as my friend and other peopel joined, they replaced the bots.

There is also a soccer field map with a different gametype called "Queen's Rules" that I'm interested to try out.

Also, I think it apparantly changes the player count you can host based on your connection. People with slower connections can only host games for 8,16,20 players, etc.

I'd go for a cag night as well. I have a mic, but I dont usually talk when playing online. I can see how talking might help in a game like this though.

I just got out of a game with StarKat that took roughly an hour to complete. Our team should've won but they fail to grasp the basic concept of offense. Here's why:

If I SINGLE-HANDEDLY hold the enemy off for 20 minutes with my Dark Priest and you can coordinate together to get the Princess, you freaking suck! I was the best player in the game by a country mile. It ticks me off that my efforts are wasted on people who don't have a mic and don't know how to play.

I also encourage all of you to try out "Who's your Daddy" in the menu. It's pretty cool.

I guess it was more the situation really. It was on the ship level, and they kept trying to come at the ship from backside when there was tide. So I just kept sucking their health, they'd fall in the water and immediately die. Over...and over...and over...and over again.

I managed to heal 406 health in that single game as well. So...I guess I have SKILLZ

I thought that when the final game came out, you'd be able to upgrade the classes more than once. That's my biggest disappointment.

One of the best games ive ever played, seriously. So addictive, colorful, funny and so much going on. I had my Ice Wizard fully charged, 2 guys with bombs in front of me, priest healing me full time behind me as we stormed the castle! That type of fun doesn't happen all the time.

shit, i just had most epic game. enemies captured their princess and we were running out of time. we eventually got their princess back along with ours and held out for a win. i nearly shit bricks when we pulled that off.

Hey, if you guys can do me a favor. When you get a Trophy besides the following can you post a link to the Playstation.com Trophy icon for it? That'd help me out a bit.

I was playing this game for a while. Some new person asked what this game was about and someone said this.

Your goal is to capture your bitch and keep their fat bitch. It doesn't matter who wins because either way you still have a fat bitch somewhere in the castle. So even if you win, you lose.
