It's not you, they've become complacent in their success.  I'm not saying it's a bad pace for content patches, but being able to predict the absolute entirety of the patch is becoming boring.  I knew coil would be another 4 bosses, have the same loot system, and ultimately be it for another 6 months.  I know that next patch will be just another CT/ST addition with more QOL changes and vanity gear.

It's getting redundant is the problem.  Sure everything will be shiny and new for a few weeks, but at the end of that comes the crushing reality that nothing is changing.  They need a game changer and the expansion might help with new abilities at the very least.

 
This Halloween event blows all the rest away.  Finally another fantastic seasonal quest that only falls short of amazing by not having housing items (huge opportunity missed).  Took a ton of screens yesterday and made an album here.  Check it out!

Saw the thread updated. Came in expecting pics of Jodou's character in sexy witch costume. Was not disappointed!

So from your album I guess the new event has you disguising yourself as Minfilia, Raubahn, etc.? Sounds awesome.

 
Yep, all the GC leaders and her are transformations, akin to WoW's wands but without the need for a physical item.  Only downside is you can't leave town with them. :(

 
So, 24-hour downtime on 10/27 so that the patch can go live on 10/28. Then it's all rogues all the time! Also I somehow avoided the news about the cash shop until today. I'm sure there's been some drama and emotions running high about that. But I just want those Yda and Y'shtola minions. :D

 
Whats with all this talk about nerfing raids? Removing OHKO mechanics?

Its basically turning the game into Club Penguin. 

 
Knew they goofed when I saw a listing for crafted materials; whoops!  But yeah, patch is shaping up to be same old, same old but with ninja.  Not a lot of glamours or housing items added, which sucks.  Instead we get another crafting grind for 4 star recipes that were promised to only be in 3.0!  They sure like to lie lately. . .

Honestly the only thing I'm hyped for at this point is golden saucer and the expansion.  They will bring actual new content that's not just recycled ideas from previous patches.

 
Expansion news from London:

- New job: Dark Knight, tank, uses 2H greatswords, does not have any class requirements

- Flying mounts for 3.0 areas

- Physical CE of Heavensward will include a statue of some kind

- By way of previewing the next job reveal, Yoshi-P made some comments about being a fan of James Bond...

 
$24 for a mount, holy cow!! I'm glad the minion prices are reasonable.

Played for a few minutes this morning, just long enough to become a rogue. It feels like there's just a flood of new stuff to do in this patch!

Had a lot of fun with the new stuff yesterday. I did a couple of the new moogle delivery quests, those have become some of my favorite content in the game. Only tackled one of the new dungeons, Sastasha, which was great. Levelling ROG. Running Syrcus and rolling freely on everything. :lol: And it's pretty cool just to see the game so crowded with people all doing the same new content at the same time, it reminds me of the betas and early access. Limsa was absolutely packed.

 
Can't wait for a free weekend sometime soon. I wanna hop back in for a few days and try out some of the newer stuff. I haven't played since the PS4 version launched.

 
Beat T10 Wednesday night (got Dreadwyrm Earrings; BiS ;)) and we're gunning for T11 this weekend.  Coil has been an absolute joke in terms of world progression (people already on T13).  Ninja has been fun so far, but rogue sucked ass.  A lot of problems with the class so far such as the absolute worthlessness of stealth, which should have been a strength.  Haven't even bothered with the main story yet since Shiva was once again DOA content with such shit weapons.  Tried the new dungeons, pretty meh.  Crafting has become my least favorite thing to do now with this patch since it's locked behind millions in grinds and dailies.  SE really fucked this up.

Overall, patch gets a C-.  I've spent most of my time just grinding fates because nobody in the FC is leveling a healer or tank and waiting 90 minutes in queue for a dungeon isn't acceptable.  Thank god I'm level 45 now at least, so the pain is almost over.  After I get it to 50, I'm actually not sure what I'll do because absolutely nothing seems appealing. : \

T4 seems to be the thing to do right now for money and allagan mats.  I'm already halfway to getting my tank mount now after grinding a couple days of it lol.  Shiva Ex (SEX) is pretty good; finally finished all the attunement crap and farmed it for a few hours.  I like that you can just turn off your brain and have fun in the fight, more of this please SE.  And of course, no visit would be complete without new photos!

Need to re-up my sub. Was hoping Gamestop would have some good sales, but their BF ad saddens me. Guess I'll be doubling up on 60 day subs with my store credit.

Cailius Fannor on Brynhildr is my char. Have all the magic classes handled mostly (BLM is main), with a couple of melee classes so far.

 
Well tradition is holding up, got two more pieces of bard loot last night (gloves and wrist) while our NIN got the choker and server first magitek daggers.  Was instantly disappointed with the purple theme and had to glamour over the gloves though. : \

Ok I have a question and this may be a Dumb one so I apologize in advance. I have not yet played ff14 if I buy the physical copy for ps3 do I need the disc and if no can I then upgrade to ps4 right away?

Essentially getting the game for $15 on ps4
 
no disc needed. you get a code in the PS3 copy for your free 30 day trial. Then you just need to do the transfer I believe at the FFXIV site. Did it a long time ago and I believe thats how it worked out.

I know this is the PS3/PS4 board, but I'm thinking about buying this on PC*.  Does anyone know if the digital download from GameStop comes with a free month of subscription time? http://www.gamestop.com/pc/games/final-fantasy-xiv-a-realm-reborn/109633  It doesn't mention it on there, but I've never seen an MMO that didn't include a free month with a purchase of the base game.

*unless there's a good reason to buy it on PS4 instead.  I'm playing the 14-day trial on PC now and having a blast.

Got the server first (world first?) spriggan cap 25 minutes after server up and after wanting it for almost a year now.  Funny enough, had a nutkin drop on my second map which sold for 4m tonight.  Cap was on my 5th and final map; lucky!

Got the bard helm and twine off our T12 kill.  Wish it were pants instead and I don't like any dye combination on the bow, so I left it as default. : \

 
The pants are amazing, not a lot of good gear from coil though, most BiS left side pieces are Aug Poetics. 

Even the non-upgraded poetic ring is better than the Dread Ring.

Also regret not doing the Relic-> Zodiac, I really like the look of the bow.

Found an unused code and got sucked back in :( knew there was a reason I deleted the game from my PS4... oh well it actually saves me money in the long run as I usually just read and play this game for months while finishing up backlog stuff on my PS3.

 
Not sure why PSN is still having issues since Sony has been silent but our raid was canceled last night and while some people are on today, I can't load my friendslist or anything on PS4 still.  Luckily I'm still PC master race but it fucking sucks not having half my friends around lately and the server feels dead. : \

I played this awhile back but I'm thinking of starting a new character and coming back.  Is the majority of people still on Cactaur?

 
I took advantage of the free PS3 to PS4 upgrade, and love how much improved and smooth the graphics and framerate are. Also, I did a world transfer from Midgardsomr to Faerie to play with some friends.

So if anyone is in the Faerie server, my character's name is Danielisaac. :) Currently, my main is a lvl 43 Paladin.
 
I finally cashed in my 60 day sub I'd had for 8 months or so. Couldn't remember how to do anything. Died in battle. Some dude revived me, said I "shouldn't be wearing mage armor" (My Level 11 character has default armor) and then he gifted me 10,000 gil.
