Forza Horizon 5

Series 38, Spring (Hot) - Oct 3 - Oct 10

Trial - Road - B700 France - Used the 1993 Renault Clio Williams (896 603 707). Pretty easy Trial this week. First race, started 3rd person and quickly got into first. Was nearly overtaken at the hard right around 20% in at the base of the hill, but pulled away before things clustered up. Stayed in first and the rest of the team was ahead of the AI. Teammates only got close at some of the hard turns, but then I pulled away again while they slowed down. Team took top 6, with me winning. Second race, I started 4th person and got up to 3rd pretty quickly. Went back and forth with an AI for a bit before getting ahead of that one for good, but the lead AI didn't want to be caught. Team finished 2 (me) and 4-8 to win.

Green Plains Motor Raceway EventLab - S1 900 Track Toys - This is on EventLab Island. 3 laps, little under 1:30 per, 5 AI. Used the 2018 McLaren 600LT Coupé (124 424 183). Got into the lead about halfway through the first lap, pulled away a bit and maintained a steady lead. Pretty straightforward track, with a lot of the big turns banked to maintain a decent speed through them and some snaking turns that will require a little slowing down.

Slice N Dice Course EventLab - C600 Hot Hatch - 3 laps, little under 1:10 per, 5 AI. Used the 2007 Honda Civic Type R (632 769 822). Got into first at the start of the 2nd lap and wasn't challenged. Another straightforward track.

Drag Strip Speed Trap - S1 900 Ferrari - 200 mph - Used the 2009 Ferrari 458 Italia (996 724 742). Starting from the paved road split west of the festival site, I hit 202.08. Starting from the paved road split east of the site, circling around the airplane, I hit 207.83. With the 2017 Ferrari 812 Superfast (332 517 723), I hit 206.39 coming from the west and 209.31 coming from the east.

Atlantes de Tula Speed Zone - S1 900 Ferrari - 150 mph (matches 3 star target) - This one is tricky. Starting from the Cascada Trail, I managed 150.04 on the first try with the 458 Italia. Wanting to get a little higher over the target, I only managed 150.39 after a number of tries. Getting the proper angle on that turn at the bottom of the hill is a pain. So I tried the Superfast. Managed 150.23 and 151.22, with a number of failures. (Then I tried it on the trap.) Also tried the 2019 Ferrari 488 Pista (549 647 333). Managed 152.27 with that. Didn't take it to the trap.

Groove It or Lose It - Street - B700 1970s - No problems with the Barn Find 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS (104 079 005).

Nova Flair - Dirt - A800 Unlimited Offroad - No problems with the 2016 RJ Anderson #37 Polaris RZR-Rockstar Energy Pro 2 Truck (145 726 653).

Fit for Purpose - Cross Country - B700 UTV's & Buggies - Only thing I already had tuned for this was the 2021 Polaris RZR Pro XP Factory Racing Limited Edition (160 938 385). Won all 3 races, but the AI was pesky on the circuits. Airfield, started 8th, up to 5th at the start of the 2nd lap, up to 2nd at the start of the 3rd and got into the lead on the final turn. Ek' Balam, 5th by the start of the 2nd lap, got into 1st midway through the 2nd lap, traded spots at the start of the 3rd but got into the lead again quickly and stayed there with the AI pretty close. Foto, got into first around 30% and wasn't really challenged.

Treasure Hunt
Take a photo of the large pyramid east of the Teotihuacán Drag Strip. I did it in the Rockstar truck after completing the Dirt championship. I was not on the road at the time, in case that part of the clue meant that or if it was merely a hint toward the vehicle type. Taking a picture of the pyramid at the north end of the strip didn't work.

Chest location
At the end of the big ramp coming off the center structure in the stadium maze.

Last week, I fired up the game with an alt account and did the Treasure Hunt, which still showed a large circle for the chest location. I asked on the Forza forums, and someone suggested it was the Treasure Map DLC, which I don't have. So I don't know why I'm seeing the chest directly on the map while my alt did not.

If you drop down directly at the Hotel Danger Sign, go to the right, then down the stairs, the Detective Tank will be right in front of you on top of the corner of the wall. Alternatively, you can circle around behind the building to the right of the danger sign. You'll see the tank as you go down the hill to the courtyard between the hotel buildings.

Hot Wheels

Forest Leap Danger Sign - A800 Nissan - 1,033.5 feet - Used the 1997 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (184 123 533). Starting from the Goliath and going airborne around 172 mph, I hit 1,127.20. Was over 200 with the boosters on the straight and wall rode the turn a bit to lose some speed, but still had enough to clear the target.

Watch Out for Hazards! - Hazard - A800 Ford & Hoonigan - No real problems with the 2018 Ford Mustang GT (163 310 707). Had to rewind a couple times to get a clean landing in the canyon drop and the AI was on me to the end in that race.

Rally Adventure

La Cantera Speed Trap - A800 Nissan - 105 mph - With the 1997 Skyline V-Spec and starting from the hairpin northeast of the trap, I hit 113.89. Starting from where the dashed dirt road splits from the solid one southeast of the trap, I squeaked by with 105.05. A longer run up might provide more clearance, but coming from the other direction appears better.

Straight and Narrows - Apex Predator - B700 Lancia - No problems with the 1992 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo (150 015 562), though I did ram the lead AI on the final hairpin of the middle race. Might not have needed to do that, but it was getting late in the race.

New update is live. 11.11 GB on Series X, 12.5 GB on PC.

9 of the 10 achievements autopopped for me so far, though not all at once. First were the streaks, then the ones for winning, followed by most of the rest. Only one that hasn't popped yet is the one for 20 Chase Breakers as Hider. Playing some more matches to see if/when that pops.

Just finished a game as Hider. Only 4 Seekers, with only 3 actively pursuing me. Finished with 16 breaks. No pop, no update to the achievement tracker.

One person on TA has the achievement post update, so maybe it is 20.

People in a convoy can start a game of Hide and Seek. So if you have 6 people, the only trick is waiting for everyone to get a turn at being the Hider. I managed it with a convoy of 5. Ended up with a random Hider once, but the rest of the time the random was a Seeker, which made it pretty easy since a single Seeker doesn't move the detection much.

Series 39, Summer (Wet) - Oct 10 - Oct 17

Backstage passes are now live. They're the 40 point reward in each season and also available in the Forzathon shop for 1k FP. Also a freebie one in the messages, has to be downloaded.

3 new badges available this series. Driving 10 miles in a 1990s car will be easy enough given the championships. Others are straight forward, with the car the 20 point reward this week and the outfit the photo challenge reward. Didn't realize I had missed the coffee cup badge during the Cars and Coffee series.

Trial rewards the weekly challenge car. It's also in the autoshow for 2 million credits.

If you need to upgrade any cars, can overlap with Monday's daily. Tuesday's daily can overlap with the 3rd chapter of the weekly.

Trial - Street - B700 1990s Supra vs. Skyline - Unfortunately, after joining a session, I saw I didn't have anything set for the Trial. I have a B class tune for the '98 Supra, but the car was set with an S1 tune. And I only had an A class tune for the '97 Skyline. Rather than drop out, I took my chances with a stock 1997 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec. Set started with 5 players. First race, I started 2nd person. The car with its stock build is slow off the start. Got up to the middle of the pack during the descent part, but couldn't gain much more ground. A couple players got up to 3rd and 4th, with me in 6th, another player in 7th and the 5th player dropped. I think the 4th place AI fell off the bridge right near the end, because the team finished 3-6, with me in 5th to win. I didn't see who I passed to move up a spot. Second race started with only 3 players, I started last. Pretty straightforward run, except no one could catch the lead AI, so we finished 4-6 (me in 6th) to lose. Final race, I was the 1st person. The team managed to get up to 3-5, with me in 5th running interference against the AI. Finished that way to win.

Decided to tune the car (616 370 914) and give it another go. Only 5 players again, I started as the 3rd and 2nd person in each race. Both races, the team finished 2-4, 9 and 11 to win both. I was 3rd both times, so it was an improvement. Another player was in the same car, also tune. Theirs was faster, though I did tune a bit toward handling and braking. They messed up a turn in the first race and finished 4th, but was the one that finished 2nd in the 2nd race.

The Refinery EventLab - B700 Super Hot Hatch - This is on EventLab Island. 3 laps, little over 50 seconds per, 11 AI. Used the 2014 Volkswagen Golf R (817 151 865). Got into the lead partway through the first lap and wasn't really challenged. Some visibility issues between the fog and lights.

Jurassic Dragon Rally EventLab - A800 Modern Rally & Rally Monsters - Point to point, took 2:58.405, 11 AI. Used the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR (101 741 761). Got into first around 15% and started pulling away. Some of the AI in front of me at the start didn't go right away, had to swerve to avoid rear ending them.

GT Cup EventLab - S2 998 Extreme Track Toys - 2 laps, around 2:40 per, 11 AI, wet track. Used the 2010 Mosler MT900S (181 867 490). Back and forth race here. Could create some separation on the straights, then the AI would close fast, and sometimes take the lead, on the hairpins. Had an Ariel Atom as the closest AI for most of the race, and they got ahead going into the final turn, but I blocked them out to win.

Hotel Danger Sign - S1 900 1990s UK - 492.1 feet (3 stars is 450) - Used the 1993 Jaguar XJ220 (495 054 997). Going back from the Danger Sign to the crest of the hill on the left, I hit 545.59. Went airborne at about 124 mph. After doing the stunts, I noticed the car wasn't available in the autoshow. For an autoshow option, I used the 1998 TVR Cerbera Speed 12 (133 071 946). Went airborne at 133 and cleared 575.02.

Autopista Speed Trap - S1 900 1990s UK - 220 mph - Easier time approaching from the east because it's more of a downhill approach. Starting from the clover leaf interchange by the Street outpost with the 1993 Jaguar, I got 230.58 on a clean run. I had a number of prior runs in the 221-222 range because I couldn't avoid some traffic just before the trap, rewound and lost about 5 mph. Had a feeling that rewinds cost you some speed. Stuck mostly to the shoulder on the clean run. For a western approach, started back at the traffic circle by the Costa Rocosa marker. Scraped by with 220.29. Just did a downhill approach with the TVR Cerbera, hit 233.07.

Airfield Speed Zone - S1 900 1990s UK - 155 mph (3 stars is 150) - Starting from the 4 way intersection west of the zone with the 1993 Jaguar, I hit 158.59. Coming from the east, starting on the bridge over the stream, I hit 159.75. With the TVR Cerbera, I hit 164.10 going west to east and 166.13 going east to west.

Seems Reasonable - Dirt - B700 <= 30k credits - No real problems with the 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI (562 805 800). Had to cut off a Veloster on the long stretch at the end of the final race.

Hot Wheels

Frozen Rush Speed Zone - A800 1990s Italy - 142 mph - The trick here is you need a decent run up, going back from the north end of the zone, past the Dragon's Fall Speed Circuit to where the track passes under other track. Using the 1994 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta (112 697 536), I entered the zone at 157, bounced off the sides on the turns and kept above the target at 146.45. Had initially tried the 1995 Ferrari F50 (956 093 222), the reward from the Trial and the weekly challenge car, but tried a closer start and fell short. I did get enough stars to complete the 2nd chapter of the weekly challenge. After getting it with the Berlinetta, I tried the F50 again with the longer approach. Entered the zone at 151 and finished at 143.90. Fell short on my uphill attempts with both cars.

Series 39, Autumn (Storm) - Oct 17 - Oct 24

One of the Street championship awards the weekly challenge car.

Trial - Dirt - A800 1990s Rally - Seems anything with a Rally category (Monsters, Retro, etc.) qualifies, as long as it's 1990s. Gave a try with the 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR (557 180 090). First race, started as 4th person. A couple 1992 Escort Cosworths (my other choice) shot past me, was able to wallride past AI throughout the race. Pretty straightforward. Team finished 1-4 (I was 3rd), 9, 10 to win. Second race, I was first person. A hard left around half way through saw me end up sideways and trying to recover on one lap. Managed to recover, though a teammate and a couple AI were well in front. Team finished 1, 4 (me), 5, 8, 9, 12 to win.

Since the 1992 Ford Escort RS Cosworth (405 092 033) seemed to do well for my teammates, I gave it another run. The speed and handling of the Lancer was slightly better, though I missed that the braking on the Cosworth was a bit better. First race, was the first person. Got past the AI pretty quickly, though one AI handled turns better and got in front. Let a teammate by at one point. Should've finished 3rd, but the AI just ahead of me started jittering just before the finish line and the game gave me 2nd. Team finished 1, 2 (me), 4, 8, 9 with a drop to win. Second race, started as 3rd person, but a bit sloppy all around. Had some teammates pass me, but end up spinning out at the previously mentioned turn (I ended up sideways again on one lap), or they missed checkpoints. Team finished 2 (me), 4, 5, 9, 10. Should have been a 1,550 to 1,500 loss, but the game awarded a win.

Horizon Wave Circuit EventLab - A800 Retro Supercars - This is on EventLab island. 3 laps, little under a minute per, 11 AI. Used the 1987 Ferrari F40 (595 700 234). The outer wall isn't always flush and you can get caught on it. So can the AI, which helped me out with a number of them. There are split paths at a couple points, with a Retro Wave sign with arrows indicating them. The one in the northeast loop can cut down on that part, though the turns are tight. Didn't get into the lead until coming out of that shortcut late in the 3rd lap.

Atlantica EventLab - A800 Modern Sports Cars - 3 laps, little over 1:20 per, 11 AI. Used the 2008 BMW Z4 M Coupé (434 156 224). Got into first a couple times on the first lap, but AI got ahead taking some turns more cleanly. Got into first for good at the start of the second lap. The track has a bit of a surprise that startled me the first time I saw it.

Autodromo Tierra Prospera EventLab - S1 900 Track Toys - 1 lap, overall race took me 3:27, 11 AI, wet track. Used the 2018 McLaren 600LT Coupé (124 424 183). Got into first on the northeast headed straight a few turns in. A couple AI stayed on me until the route started the downhill stretch in the NW corner, then I was able to create some separation.

Bypass Speed Trap - B700 1990s Germany - 125 mph - Used the 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution (248 061 729). Starting from the 2nd bend north of the trap, hit 127.56. Starting from the second bend south of the trap (T intersection with the dirt road), hit 131.62.

Cliffside Speed Zone - B700 1990s Germany - 105 mph - This was a little tricky. Started back at the start of the Precipice Drift Zone and managed 105.96 with the Benz Evolution. Took a few tries before I was able to handle the turns well enough and stay above the target. Couldn't recover from the initial turn on a counter-clockwise run, topped out at 100 mph. Also tried a 1997 BMW M3 (714 134 756), got 109.14 on the first clockwise try. Fail on the return trip.

Farmland Trail Drift Zone - B700 1990s Germany - 135k (3 stars is 130k) - Using the same Benz and starting from the intersections past each end of the zone, I hit 186,150 going west to east and then 187,374 on the return trip.

Run, Forrest. Run! - Street - A800 1990s Muscle & Sports Cars - Awards the weekly challenge car. No problems with the 1994 Nissan Fairlady Z Version S Twin Turbo (132 637 525). Got into first at the 3% mark, AI was no longer visible in the minimap at 8%. They got behind me through the teens, not sure if it was rubber banding or me try to go cleanly through Guanajuato, particularly the tunnels. Created some separation again once outside Guanajuato and got a big gap through the 40s approaching the festival site. While it seemed they started creeping up on me toward the end, they never got close.

Canyon Jump Danger Sign - S1 900 1990s USA - 1,246.7 feet - Took me a few tries and a couple cars to get this. Finally hit it with the 1999 Dodge Viper GTS ACR (589 940 079), starting back at the T intersection north of the jump. Went airborne at 180 mph and hit 1,252.11. Jumped at 179 mph and hit 1,251.56. Fell 10-15 short going airborne 176-177. Have to minimize scraping the walls on the approach to keep the speed up. Had also tried 1995 Chevrolet ZR-1 (544 124 169), but couldn't top 177 mph on the jump and fell 8 feet short. Might've done it with a cleaner approach, but didn't go back after trying the Viper.

Took a few tries to properly drift through the turns to maintain momentum. Managed 93.30 going west to east and 91.81 going east to west with the 1995 Corvette.

Series 39, Winter (Dry) - Oct 24 - Oct 31

Trial - Road - A800 1990s Ferrari vs Lamborghini - Used the 1994 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta (112 697 536), which was a solid car for this. Won both races. First race, started as 3rd person. Got up to 3rd behind a couple AI pretty quickly, weaving through teammates and other AI. Got past one AI in the approach to the festival, then got past the other by shoving them into the wall near where the airplane is, which gave some teammates a chance to move up. Stayed ahead the rest of the way, with the team finishing 1-3 and 5-7. Second race, I started last. The car has a good launch, so again got up to 3rd behind 2 AI pretty quickly, getting into first around the 25% mark. Was caught by an AI in the 50s, passed them again on the left hairpin turn near 60% and stayed in the lead. Saw teammates were closing, and looked behind a little after that to see a teammate ram the AI into a wall on a turn, getting the whole team by. Team took top 5 and 7th to win.

JCO Project Race3 Airport EventLab - B700 Classic Muscle - This is on EventLab Island. 2 laps, around 2:10 per, 11 AI. Used the 1972 Ford Falcon XA GT-H0 (103 661 620). Got into first for good around the NW corner of the route. The area around the driving lane is mostly level ground, allowing you to cut corners, particularly when there are multiple consecutive turns. Doing that, especially in the southern part of the route, while the AI stuck to the driving line allowed me to build up a pretty decent lead by the end.

Cathedral GP EventLab - B700 Hot Hatch - 1 lap, race took me 3:47.606, 11 AI. Used the 2003 Ford Focus RS (580 147 909). Got into first around 1:10 lap time, so around 1/3 of the way through, just before going under an overpass. Held a consistent lead from there.

Cauldron Rally Circuit EventLab - S1 900 Modern Rally & Rally Monsters - 2 laps, little under 2:50 per, 11 AI. Used the 1978 Hoonigan Ford Escort RS1800 (555 193 455). Got into first about half way through the first lap. Created a little separation, AI closed early in the second lap in the turns around the telescope, then I pulled ahead a bit after that.

Baja Showjump Danger Sign - B700 1990s Japan - 574.1 feet - Used the 1994 Honda Prelude SI (448 365 204). Fell 25 feet short starting from the 4 way intersection southeast of the sign. Backing up to the first bend on the paved road, I hit 617.91, going airborne at 120 mph.

Dustbowl Speed Trap - B700 1990s Japan - 120 mph - Using the Prelude and starting from the 4 way intersection north of the trap, I hit 122.29. For an approach from the south, I followed the dirt road south and then went out into the terrain when it turned by the intersection with the dashed dirt road, turning around when the waypoint switched from yards to .6 miles. Managed 122.25.

Desierto Viviente Speed Zone - B700 1990s Japan - 88 mph - Little tricky with the Prelude. Starting from the intersection just north of the zone, I managed 88.16. Took a few tries from the intersection south of the zone and got 88.65. The turns near the north end are a bit tough to recover from before the end. Topped 100 in zone speed before making the left turn. After clearing the south / north run, I tried a north / south run again and got 90.57 to provide a little more clearance.

90s Icons: Jaguar XJ220 - Street - B700 Jaguar - No real problems with the 1961 Jaguar E-Type (901 114 137). Had to rewind on some turns to handle them better. Reward is the photo challenge car.

Hot Wheels

Hammer's Shadow Speed Trap - A800 1990s UK - 170 mph - Used the 1993 Jaguar XJ220 (354 922 163), which is awarded by the Street championship. The 3 approaches from the north all worked. Using the straight approach, going back before the horizontal loop, I hit 192.50. Needed to go back a bit to have enough speed to get through the loop without being pulled down along the lower edge. For the split closest to the track, I started back where that track splits in the northeast. Hit 176.53 with that approach, though with some wall scraping when the track came together. For the other split a little farther from the trap, I started at the split before the vertical loop. Hit 180.95. Didn't manage it coming from the south.

Everlong - Speed - S2 998 1990s Extreme Track Toys - Not many options here. I used the reward from the Trial, 1996 Ferrari F50 GT (334 684 244), which is also available in the autoshow. Only other choices are a Forza Edition car and the 1999 Lambo Diablo GTR that's only available through the skill tree of the 1997 Diablo. This Ferrari brings up something I noticed a while ago - at some point they rebalanced stock car settings, lowering handling and increasing offroad. I had 2 of these F50 GTs marked as new in my garage. Both had 8.1 speed, 7.0 acceleration, 7.1 launch, 10 braking. The one I got from the Trial, as well as what's in the autoshow, had 9.5 handling and 4.8 offroad. The other one in my garage had 10 handling and 4.1 offroad. I've seen this change with a lot of other cars. Curious when and why it happened.

For the race, it was pretty close at the end thanks to some rubber banding. I got into the lead entering the turn just before the long southeast straight over the ice area. Had built up a decent lead, with no AI in the minimap. Noticed an AI start to rubber band around The Lookout, the first stretch of track that reaches over the sky in the southeast of the canyon area. Didn't get within the minimap. It made another move in the track over the sky between the canyon and forest areas. Got inside the minimap this time, then really turned it on through the magnet track sections of the forest. Was able to block it out, with it hitting me from behind a few times. It stayed close to the end, barely more than a quarter second between us. My times were 5:01.401, 4:56.747 lap time, against 5:01.753, 4:59.468 lap time. I didn't look back during the final stretch, would've been mad if I was overtaken right at the end.

Series 39, Spring (Hot) - Oct 31 - Nov 7

The weekly challenge car is awarded by one of the Road championships. Also in the autoshow.

Trial - Street - B700 1990s Retro Sports Cars - Used the 1997 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (616 370 914). First race, started from 2nd last spot. A lot of swerving from the AI. Entire team got into the top 6 by 25%. I settled into 4th. Didn't trust the person in 5th, who kept getting close when I slowed down for turns. So I took the outside on the hard right in the 60% range and they passed me. Team took top 5 spots, with me in 4th. That surprised me, apparently someone ahead of me quit / dropped out right at the end. Second race, started from 2nd person slot. Got up to 3rd behind 2 AI pretty quickly, then into first. Slowing down for the hard left around 22% onto the bridge with the tree right on the outside allowed most of the teammates and an AI to pass me, so I was in 5th. Final teammate passed me to drop to 6th, so I held off the AI. Created some separation in the 70-80% mostly straightaway stretch. On the final approach to the end, I saw a teammate swerve and miss a checkpoint and something must have happened to the AI, too, because the team took top 4, with me in 4th, and 10th.

Storm Drain EventLab - A800 Modern Muscle - This is on EventLab Island. 2 laps, little under 1:50 per, 11 AI. Wet paved surface. Used the 2018 Ford Mustang GT (163 310 707). Got into first entering the big turn over the surrounding water, went back and forth a bit and got into first for good coming out of that turn. AI didn't keep up. Near the start, when making the turn to head out over the water, there is a long building you can go through to cut the corner.

Mesa Circuit EventLab - B700 Classic & Retro Rally - 3 laps, about 1:30 per, 11 AI. Wet, mixed surface route. A laugher in the 1999 Ford Racing Puma (621 865 382), got into first in the first half of the opening lap and pulled away from there.

Avenida Speed Trap - A800 1990s USA - 145 mph - Used the 1995 Chevrolet ZR-1 (117 468 671). Starting from the paved intersection at the north end of Playa Azul, I hit 148.73. Starting from the Goliath, I hit 151.32.

Carretera Speed Zone - A800 1990s USA - 120 mph - Starting from the bend past the west end of the zone, I hit 120.69 and 122.29. Coasted through the final 2 turns, nearly fell below the target coming out of the final turn but accelerating the final downhill stretch kept me above it. Fell 3-5 mph short on a few uphill tries. For an alternative, I tried the 1992 Ford Escort RS Cosworth (405 092 033). Managed 124.28 on the downhill approach with that. Fell ~5 mph short on the above Speed Trap with it using the same start points.

Was taking turns cleanly and got passed by a teammate approaching the big U near the end. Team finished 1-3 (me 2nd), 6, 7 and 11 to win. Second race, started as 1st person. Moved up to 3rd again behind 2 AI. Tried to get ahead of the AI and went wide on a turn. Thankfully, there was a building to keep me from going too far off, but was passed by a teammate. Got back into it and managed to pass one of the AI ahead of me. Team finished 1, 3-6 (me 3rd) and 11 to win.

Series 40, Autumn (Storm) - Nov 14 - Nov 21

Sunday's daily overlaps with the Road championship or the 4th chapter of the weekly challenge.

Trial - Dirt - A800 AWD Porsche - Used the 2017 Porsche Panamera Turbo (946 975 309). Had 2 other people with tuned vehicles, 3 without. The 2 tuned cars could somewhat keep up with me, though they relied a lot on wall riding. A Cayenne took a downhill turn hard on both races, lifted up on its front wheels and I came underneath them and prevented them from landing cleanly. They fell back both times. Felt a little bad, but they were really a victim of their own recklessness. I at least tried to take turns cleanly. First race, I started as 3rd person, blew past most of the AI, got shoved into the wall on the first hard right. Was able to recover and get ahead of the wall riders. Team finished 1 (me), 2, 5, 6, 8, 10 to win. Second race, I started as the 1st person. Again, got up near the front quickly, then a cluster at the first hard turn. Still managed to pull away a bit, especially after the one person had trouble with the downhill turn. Missed the exact placements, but team finished 1 (me), 2, 5-7 or 6-8 and last to win.

SMR 2: The Mayan Discovery EventLab - S1 900 Rally Monsters - 2 laps, little over 2 minutes per, 5 AI. Used the 1978 Hoonigan Ford Escort RS1800 (555 193 455). Got into first approaching the first hairpin and started pulling away from there. A lot of uneven terrain and unbreakable trees on the route.

Royal Palms Intl. Speedway EventLab - S1 900 Modern Supercars - This is on EventLab Island. 2 laps, around 1:50 per, 11 AI. Used the 2009 Ferrari 458 Italia (996 724 742). AI were pesky. Finally got into first the first time navigating the turns before the end of the first lap. Stayed there until the hard right before heading out over the water. A lot of back and forth against the AI until I finally got ahead again around the final turns.

Event Horizon Danger Sign - S1 900 Super GT - 902.2 feet - Used the 2017 Ferrari 812 Superfast (332 517 723). Starting from the far end of the dirt loop around the telescope, I went airborne at 150 mph and hit 1,039.23.

Got the completion pop up after 6. 10 on the inner part of the track. 10 inside the track (1 at each of the 6 entrances, 1 on each of the H's from last week's photo challenge and 2 around the center pillar). 3 around each of the grandstands outside the track (1 on each end, 1 in the middle around the back).

Cloud Racer - Speed - S2 998 Extreme Track Toys - Both circuits are 2 laps. No problems with the 2010 Mosler MT900S (309 070 429). I think I made a mistake the last 2 times I posted a tune for this car. This 309 tune has a rally suspension. The other recent posts I made, including last week, is for a race suspension tune. Probably doesn't make too much different outside of a few spots in Hot Wheels tracks where the clearance prevents scraping the underside.

Saturday's daily could overlap with the Speed Trap challenges or the 4th chapter of the Weekly. Wednesday's daily should overlap with any of the race events, or be done with next week's races.

Trial - Road - S1 900 Super GT - Used the 2017 Ferrari 812 Superfast (332 517 723). Only 5 on the team in the lobby, with another dropping out before the first race. First race, started as first person. Got up to the front pretty quickly, with some bumping from teammates behind me. Stayed ahead until the turns toward the end of the first lap, where I was shoved into a wall by a teammate. Managed to stay in second, got close to the leader a couple times, but couldn't catch them. Team took top 4, with me 2nd. Second race, started last. A real cluster on the early turns, particularly the hard left a few turns in. Things settled as roughly as 1, 3, 5, 7 (me) for the first half of the race. Couldn't see what happened, but the person that won the first race fell back to last. Was probably bumping for placement and missed a checkpoint. Someone else fell back, while I managed to get up to 3rd. Team finished 1, 3 (me), 6, 9 to win.

Woodsman's Wonderland EventLab - B700 Retro Rally - 2 laps, little under 2:20 per, 5 AI. Used the 1983 Audi Sport Quattro (137 185 266). AI were aggressive. Got into first just after starting the second lap, but they kept close. Had pulled away a little heading into the late hairpin, but they closed fast. Had to rewind a couple turns to take them better to keep the lead.

Johonua EventLab - S1 900 Modern Sports Cars - This is on EventLab island. 3 laps, little under 1:20 per, 5 AI. Used the 2019 Porsche 911 Carrera S (398 060 807). Got into first early in the second lap. AI kept it close, except on the final straight before the end of the lap, but then closed again. Some of the turns are tricky at speed.

Mudflows Speed Trap - B700 Sports Utility Heroes - 110 mph - Used the 2019 Porsche Macan Turbo (365 902 470). Starting from back near the bend by the telescope, I hit 118.32 coming from the north. Starting roughly even with the XP board on the lower road, I hit 115.30 coming from the south.

Paso Inferior Speed Trap - B700 Sports Utility Heroes - 85 mph - Starting from under the expressway, I hit 86.78 with the Macan. Starting back around the bend to the east, I hit 88.55. First try was from the bend and I fell just short at 84.94.

La Marisma Trailblazer - B700 Sports Utility Heroes - 12 seconds - Starting from the 4 way paved / dirt intersection SW of the start gate, I hit 16.563 with the Macan. Was mostly a straight shot, just avoiding the early buildings and then trees.

Worked for me the first time as well. In fact usually when I do the treasure hunt it takes a few seconds for the menu to pop up saying I unlocked it or whatever, this time it popped up immediately.

Spending the week at my parents, I haven't done much gaming, but plan to get a seasonal posting up. Had planned to get the week rolling this afternoon, but was greeted with the update from the livestream earlier today. Was 11.9 GB for PC, saw a post in the Forza forums that it's 10.43 GB on Series X.

Series 40, Spring (Wet) - Nov 28 - Dec 5

Trial - Dirt - A800 Rally Monsters - Used the 1985 Porsche #185 959 Prodrive Rally Raid (154 559 771). My worst Trial in quite a while. Had a bunch of lag updates on my parents' Wi-Fi. Only 3 on the team running after 1am tonight. First race, started last. Wasn't sure if I had missed a checkpoint at one point, and by the time the game gave me the prompt, 1 rewind put me just past the flags, so I needed a second rewind. Put me back in last, and only managed to pass a teammate from there on out. Team finished 2, 8 (me), 9 to lose. Second race, started as middle person. A lot of bumping in Guanajuato, but we all managed to get to 2-4 late in the lap. The lead AI had pulled away, but I was in 4th and decided to run interference and hope my teammates wouldn't fight with each other too much to cause them to fall back. They didn't, but I ended up getting passed by one AI dealing with multiple of them near the end. Team finished 2, 3, 5 (me) to win. Third race, started middle again. Another laggy race. Missed another checkpoint, but it was early enough I was able to recover and make up some places. Until I rolled on a turn during the downhill stretch. My teammates did well, team finished 1, 3, 8 (me) to win. Won't be coming up to my parents for Christmas until the Friday or Saturday before, so will be able to knock out the main stuff from home that week. Though I'm not sure how the days after Christmas will play out.

Mirage Raceway EventLab - A800 2013 Caterham Superlight R500 - 3 laps, little over a minute per, 5 AI. Used 170 792 765. Got into the lead just before the end of the first lap. AI stayed close, briefly lost the lead about halfway through the third lap.

Estadio Speed Trap - S1 900 Track Toys - 170 mph - Used the 2018 McLaren 600LT Coupé (124 424 183). Starting from the paved / dirt intersection north of the trap, I managed 170.58 and 172.87. Couldn't hit it coming from the south, either on road or off.

Festival Speed Zone - S1 900 Track Toys - 100 mph - McLaren again. Going counter clockwise and starting from the intersection past the east end, I squeaked by with 101.54. Had some trouble going the other direction, was a bit jittery on my parents' Wi-Fi, so I went into Horizon Solo. Helped a bit, except I had to avoid a number of AI cars. Was able to hit the wall on a decent angle to pull off a wall ride that didn't slow me down too much that I was able to recover, getting back up to 104.49. Hit 107.09 on a Solo counterclockwise return trip.

Series 41, Winter (Dry) - Dec 5 - Dec 12

Saturday's daily can overlap with the Hot Wheels Drift Zone. Sunday's daily can overlap with the monthly Rivals challenges.

Trial - Road - B700 Honda & Acura - Used the 1994 Honda Prelude SI (448 365 204). Good launch, couldn't match top speed with some of my teammate's cars. First race, started as first person. Got into the lead before the end of the overpass. Took my teammates a bit until they started passing the AI. Was passed by a teammate around 33%, then another in the 40s. Went back and forth a bit with that person, and fell back to 4th briefly, but a pretty straightforward race. Team finished 1-5 (I was 3rd) and 10 to win. Second race, started 2nd last. Again, blew past everyone at the start and was in the lead well before the first big right. Was passed by a teammate shortly after the arch. Passed by a couple others late in the 2nd lap, with some shoving, but one of them got caught on an object edge in the 3rd lap and fell back. Team finished 1-4 (I was 3rd again), 6 and 12 to win.

EM Linden Circuit EventLab - S1 900 Track Toys - This is on EventLab Island. 3 laps, about 1:15 per, 11 AI. Used the 2018 McLaren 600LT Coupé (124 424 183). Pretty straightforward run. Got into first about halfway through the first lap. Got to a decent lead, but not fully pulling away.

City Slicker Circuit EventLab - A800 Modern Sports Cars - 2 laps, little over 2:20 per, 11 AI. Used the 2008 BMW Z4 M Coupé (434 156 224). AI were aggressive, though they had trouble with the final right turn before leaving Guanajuato. Both laps, a bunch ran themselves into the outer wall and had trouble getting off the wall, allowing others to pile into them. I got into first just before the end of the first lap, the AI ahead of me appeared to slow down on a straight, allowing me to overtake them. Had a few get ahead of me in the second lap going through Guanajuato, but their troubles with that turn allowed me to pass all but one of them again, which I overtook on the turns before the final stretch. Completed today's daily during this event (showoff = drift + pass).

Salto de Río Danger Sign - C600 Anything - 419.9 feet - Using the 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am (163 084 521) and starting from the bend uphill of the jump, I cleared 467.94. Went airborne at 114 mph.

Ranchito Speed Zone - C600 Anything - 70 mph - Trans Am again. Started from the intersections past each end of the zone. Entering the northern end, I hit 79.53. The Trans Am is fast enough to get back above the target during that downhill stretch. Entering the southern end, I hit 72.13. Was up in the mid-80s when I was able to decently drift through the first turn at the top of the hill, then entered the second around 74 and stayed above the target.

Jungle Traversal Trailblazer - C600 Anything - 10 seconds - Trans Am again. Started from the T intersection west of the start gate. There are some treeless paths through the forest, though wood on the ground can slow you down. I made for the paved road to the east, then mostly followed that until a turn near the end when I went straight for the finish. Finished with 13.27 seconds left.

Take a photo of the 2009 Ferrari 458 Italia at the Winter Wonderland in the stadium. I went just inside and took a pic, it didn't register. Drove a bit farther in, though I don't think I had an igloo in the shot (like from the description). Registered that time. The 2013 Speciale may work as well.

Chest location
If you travel east from the paved / dirt T intersection above the Hotel Castillo Santa Cecilia icon, the chest is up on the bridge supprt when the road passes under the elevated train tracks. You can get up onto the tracks heading a bit further east. Farther trip if you want to get up there from the west.

Photo - Fast traveled to the house, switched to the 1999 Lotus Elise, didn't register. Tried again with the house in the shot - nope. Worked when I drove a little off the paved road toward the house.

Hot Wheels

Rockslide Drift Zone - A800 Anything - 180k (3 stars is 170k) - Used the 2018 Honda Civic Type R (114 061 290). Starting from the intersection just past the west end, I hit 212,370. Starting from just before the booster past the east end, I hit 221,875. Spun around at one point that I thought I'd fail the run, but it held.

Avent-ure Time - Hazard - S1 900 Lamborghini Aventador - No problems for the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 (370 977 095). All races stay on track.

Cascada Fuerte Speed Trap - D500 Anything - 80 mph - Used the 1970 Datsun 510 (157 150 211). Coming from the north, starting from the bend past the stream, I hit 83.47. Going south of the trap and down the hill, turned around when I got to the dirt road and went up the hill. Got onto the road at about 60 mph and hit 82.08.

Series 41, Winter #2 (Dry) - Dec 12 - Dec 19

Trial - Road - A800 Aston Martin vs. Jaguar - Used the 2017 Aston Martin DB11 (935 839 690), available in the Forzathon shop. Solid choice for this week, I won both races. First race, I started as first person. Got past half the AI quickly, passed the next few over the first third of the race. Easy going from there. A couple teammates passed the AI, but were always several car lengths back. Team finished 1-3, 6, 10, 12 to win. Second race, started as 3rd person. Passed my teammates and a few AI pretty quickly again. Got into first on the left before entering the speed zone nearing the end of the lap. Tried taking turns cleanly, so a teammate got close on occasion, but kept fishtailing on the wet pavement. Team finished 1-3, 7, 10, 12 to win.

Matterhorn Raceway EventLab - A800 Track Toys - This is on EventLab Island. 3 laps, around 1:20 per, 11 AI. Used the 2002 BMW M3-GTR (617 827 997). Got into first pretty quickly and built a big lead. A good representation of the Bernese Alps track from the Forza Motorsport games.

Sierra Verde Raceway EventLab - A800 GT & Super GT - 2 laps, little over 2 minutes per, 11 AI. Stayed in the DB11 from the Trial for this. Got into first approaching the hairpin in the north side of the route. AI stayed close until the end of the first lap, then I created some separation but never got to fully pull away.

San Juan Jump Danger Sign - A800 Anything - 377.3 feet - Used the 1994 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta (112 697 536). Starting from the curve in the dirt road to the south, I hit 415.60. Went airborne at about 113 mph.

River Run Speed Zone - A800 Anything - 95 mph - Berlinetta again. Hit 97.74 on my first attempt coming from the first intersection to the south. Took a few tries, but finally got 95.52 starting from the intersection to the north. Thought I'd fail it cutting the final turn too much, but it held.

Yule Ready for This! - Road - B700 Mazda & Autozam - No real problems with the 2011 Mazda RX-8 R3 (105 234 201), though the AI was pesky. Got into first on the final turn of the 2nd lap of Winter Wonderland, entering the northwest "hand" of the 2nd lap of Lookout and after the first hairpin of the 2nd lap of Cathedral and the AI stayed close from there out.

Forest Edge Speed Trap - X999 Anything - 280 mph - Used an aero tuned 2019 Rimac Concept Two (167 202 516). Started from the bend over the sky in the northwest of the map and hit 289.43. Tried a few different cars, but couldn't hit it coming from the south. Best I managed was 279.78 with a Jesko.

Caught in a Loop - Speed - B700 Vintage & Classic Racers - No problems with the 1959 Jaguar MK II 3.8 (132 299 051). Had a tune for the 1958 Aston Martin, but at 22.5 million, figured it was too expensive (despite how long many of us have been playing the game). Then I saw it was in the Forzathon shop.

Some new leaks revealing FH 6 is maybe coming to Germany. Most of this coming from the Forza World podcast. Here's a vid covering the details.

Gotta say, I'm burnt on FH but I'll prob still play when it comes out. I was hoping for Japan or somewhere else in Asia. I wonder what new gameplay they'll add.

Forza World doesn't have a good track record with leaks according to the vid, so we'll see. Assetto Corsa Evo looks very promising. It's a sim racer set in Germany and only a couple months away.

Series 41, Winter #3 (Dry) - Dec 19 - Dec 26

Some Nissan Z's qualify for the Retro Sports Car EventLab and can double up with Saturday's Pass Skill daily. Though it might be tricky to get 9 in a single non-Drag race. Hot Wheels Championship reward is an eligible car.

Rally Adventure Championship awards the weekly challenge car. Dirt Championship awards a car eligible for the Trial. Forzathon shop has a car eligible for Friday's daily.

Weekly - I generally use an instant win blueprint when I have to deal with a Drag race, but since I needed to upgrade the 1932 Ford to A class, I set up 108 772 975. I don't know if there's enough there to complete the 50k credits to upgrade to A class, since I started with an AWD C class tune instead of stock. But it easily won the Festival Drag Strip for the 3rd chapter and also cleared the 3 star target for the 4th chapter Danger Sign.

Trial - Street - S1 900 Porsche 911 vs. Nissan GT-R - Used the 2019 Porsche 911 Carrera S (398 060 807). Solid car, picked it for its handling rating over some other cars. Needed to run the Trial twice.

First race, first attempt, started 2nd last. Cut a turn too tight at about 38%, the rewind dropped me from 4/5 to 10th. Was able to get back up to 6th by the end, but wasn't enough. Team finished 2, 3, 6 (me), 10-12 to lose. Second race, started as 3rd person. Teammates took the hard turn going around the castle wide, allowed me up to 2nd behind an AI. Got into first entering Guanajuato. Had a clean run through the city, a teammate challenged me toward the end, but I managed to cut him off to win. Team finished 1 (me), 2, 4, 9-11 to win. Third race, started last. Got up to 4th pretty quickly behind an AI and 2 teammates. AI was passed, then passed a teammate who took a turn wide. Handled the rest of the race cleanly, but I think the teammates behind had trouble with the hairpin leaving Playa Azul and/or the hard left between the Donut Story icons. Team finished 1, 2 (me), 9-12 to lose.

Second run, first race started as 2nd person. Got up into the lead pretty quickly. Was passed by a teammate on the 2nd or 3rd sweeping curve. Thought I might've been able to be competitive. They were in a 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and could outrun me on straights, but had trouble with some early turns. Though I didn't manage to make it a fight for first, there was some separation between us and the rest. Team finished 1-4 (me 2nd), 6, 7 to win. Second race, started as 2nd person. Got up to 2nd behind an AI before the castle, but was on the outside and got slowed down by the fencing, allowing a couple teammates to pass. Not as clean through Guanajuato, though got up to 3rd. Went wide on the turn outside Guanajuato, allowing the teammate I passed to get ahead again and I couldn't catch them again. Team finished 1, 3, 4 (me), 6, 10, 11 to win.

Crimson Lanes Street Race EventLab - A800 Retro Sports Cars - 2 laps, bit over 2:00 per, 11 AI. Used the 1994 Nissan Fairlady Z Version S Twin Turbo (132 637 525), which should double with passes needed for Saturday's daily. Bit tricky at some spots, where you have to line up some drops. A couple are are at the north end of the route, one when going out over the water where you have to angle right to drop properly and the other just before the end of the route where you have to drop and the path forward narrows. The middle of the route is used twice, watch the checkpoints.

El Circuito de Guanajuato EventLab - C600 Hot Hatch & Retro Hot Hatch - 2 laps, bit over 2:40 per, 11 AI. Used the 1995 Volkswagen Corrado VR6 (134 675 460). This was a real pain, with a lot of rewinds. Didn't get into first until shoving the lead AI on the 2nd last turn in the NW corner of the route. They briefly passed me on the downhill, but I cut them on the final corner to win.

Ranas Saltarinas Danger Sign - S1 900 Anything - 1,049.9 feet (3 stars is 820) - Used the 2018 McLaren 600LT Coupé (124 424 183). Starting from the intersection south of the Eliminator icon, I hit 1,068.34 going airborne at 140 mph. Leaving the ramp at 145, I cleared 1,191.77.

Pantano Pass Speed Trap - S1 900 Anything - 170 mph (3 stars is 165) - Going west of the trap, taking the dirt road when it splits and starting from the first bend, I hit 176.19 with the McLaren. Only got to 169 starting from the split. Also hit 176.86 with the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 (123 086 341). Couldn't hit the mark coming from the east.

Ho Ho Holden - Road - A800 Holden & HSV - Used the 2014 HSV Gen-F GTS (842 144 426). Had to run the Rocosa twice after finishing 3rd on the first try. A couple AI didn't want to be caught and I had some trouble with the turns going through the festival. Second run was no problem, Marigold wasn't a problem but the AI kept close on the last race.

Photo - Drove up to the church, switched to a Nissan, which put me on the road at the bottom of the hill. Tried a picture from there instead of driving back up the hill, with the car and the church visible, and it registered.

Collectibles - There are plenty around, I stopped counting around 25. Challenge completed when I got to 10, doesn't seem to be cooldowns on Snowman skills. For a quick 10, there's one on each side of the stage in the NW area of the stadium, 3 on the ice hockey rink east of the Wonderland icon and 5 in the open area where the "O" and "N" are in the stadium icon.

Hot Wheels

Forest Escape Danger Sign - S2 998 Anything - 1,148.3 feet (3 stars is 1,025) - Couple attempts with the 2019 Rimac Concept Two starting from where the spur toward the jump splits off. Aero tune (167 202 516) hit 1,208.52, going airborne at 184 mph. Rally tune (551 707 630) hit 1,281.04, going airborne at 194. Aero tune is faster, but I hit a wall early on but recovered to clear the target.

Let It Snow! - Hazard - A800 GT Cars - No problems with the 2017 Bentley Continental Supersports (105 065 395). Phantom rewind prompt at ~55% of Ice Canyon. Reward is a 2003 Nissan Fairlady Z eligible for Saturday's daily.

Starting from the bends past each end of the zone, I topped 57 mph on my first attempts from both directions. Tried to drift through the curves a bit better on the next attempts and hit 59.01 going north to south and 58.20 going south to north.

Late post this week. Was at my parents until Monday, then wrapped up TA challenges before they ended with the year. Also forgot to take a controller up to my parents with me. Managed to do last week's dailies with the keyboard, thankfully found a 0 sec, no Drivatar Cross Country EventLab that counted for that one daily. Didn't want to try actual races with just keyboard controls.

The Hot Wheels Championship awards the weekly challenge car. The Rally Adventure Championship awards a car eligible for the photo challenge.

Trial - Street - A800 Audi RS vs. BMW M Sports - The EventLab and one Road Championship award cars that are eligible for this. Used the 2013 Audi RS 7 Sportback (169 684 545). First race, started as 3rd person. Had a rough time in the city. Got up to 4th at one point, behind 2 teammates and an AI, but hit the wall on a turn and rolled / spun to fall back to 10th. Had a decent comeback, until I took a left turn wide in the 70s and kept going straight. That cost me and the team. Finish was 1, 4, 8, 9 (me), 11 and a drop to lose. Second race, started second last. Cut the turns through the early traffic circle to get near the lead, then got in front. Let a teammate pass around halfway and played interference. Team finished 1, 2 (me), 4, 5, 9 to win. Third race I figured would be interesting. Started as first person. Passed a bunch of AI, but the teammate that won the first 2 races also got ahead. Saw one teammate behind me fly off into the jungle at the first left turn. Lead AI blocked for a while, but teammate and I managed to get ahead at the downhill turns by the airfield. Unfortunately, the rest of the team were way back at that point. Then things got a little weird, because it looked like we were both trying to block out the AI, so neither of us were getting ahead. When it straightened out at the bottom of the hill, I decided to gun it and pulled away a bit, then the teammate did as well. We both created some separation and I let him by. Team finished 1, 2 (me), 9, 10 and thankfully a drop to win.

Anni's Harbor EventLab - A800 Retro Supercars - This is on EventLab Island. 2 laps, about 2:10 per, 11 AI. Used the 1994 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta (112 697 536). Got into first at the first right turn over the water and held a decent lead until an AI tried to make a run at me at the very end.

Tulum Speed Trap - X999 Anything - 215 mph (3 stars is 170) - Not the easiest set of stunts this week. Tried this with the Rimacs after East Resort, but couldn't manage it. Rather than trying to upgrade to X class, I switched to a 2020 Koeniggsegg Jesko (159 572 311). Tune is a couple years old, but hadn't shared it before. Managed 228.74 and got a new PB of 230.80 starting from the north entrance to the Apex Outpost. No go coming from the south.

East Resort Speed Trap - X999 Anything - 220 mph (3 stars is 200) - The easier one of the set. Tried this one first. Starting from the Barranca Trail, I hit 223.13 with the rally 2019 Rimac Concept Two (551 707 630). Trying the aero one (167 202 516), I hit 232.35. Came back with the Jesko from Tulum, hit 241.33. Again, couldn't get it from the south.

Green Hills Speed Zone - X999 Anything - 200 mph (3 stars is 160) - Not sure how I managed 197 on this with a Rimac given how it handles. Couldn't set a new PB with the Jesko, much less hit the target. So I switched to an X class tune I had for the 2011 Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Forza Edition (554 035 095), which I also hadn't previously shared. Took a number of tries, but starting a bit past the first bend past the east end, I got managed some clean cuts of the first 2 turns and hit 204.09. Gave it a couple more tries and hit 212.53. Not satisfied sitting .08 behind MjkJets, I tried a few more times and finally managed 217.48. Not sure a west to east run is possible with those turns near the end.

Dunes Danger Sign - A800 Anything - 623.4 feet - Hit 634.37 with the 2018 Porsche Cayenne Turbo (119 662 635). Tried a few different vehicles from the bend in the paved road approaching the jump. Went airborne in the mid-110s and fell more than 100 feet short. Tried from the bend in the dirt road across the terrain, but still fell short. Started back at the start of the straight dirt stretch, cut across the terrain to the paved road and went for the jump. Topped 130 mph before the jump, but fell to about 125 when I went airborne. Tried the same approach with the Berlinetta from the EventLab. Wasn't as clean an approach, but went airborne at 130 and cleared 687.59.

Series 42, Summer (Wet) - Jan 2 - Jan 9

Trial - Street - C600 Vans & Utility - Only car I had already tuned for this was the 1970 Chevrolet El Camino Super Sport 454 (340 751 971). Solid launch, decent speed but couldn't handle turns well. First race, I got up to 3rd behind some AI. Got passed by a couple teammates and passed one AI, so was in 4th. Lost a spot to another teammate at the big right near the air field. Was making a move toward the end, but the handling bit me - I slid off the bridge right near the end, needing 2 rewinds to get properly set and dropping back to 10th. Team finished 1-3, 7, 10 (me), 12 to win. Second race, started second last. Got up to 3rd again, behind some AI. Couple teammates passed me on some turns. Fairly straightforward race, overtook an AI coming off the expressway near the end. Team finished 1, 2, 4 (me), 8, 9, 12.

Tuned a 2003 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning (626 540 949) to give it another go. Started with a team of 5. First race, started 2nd last. This handles a lot better than the El Camino. A teammate in a Wuling Sunshine was off like a shot, but they couldn't handle it well. I got into first at the right turn by the air field, but my team was well behind. Finished 1 (me), 6, 7, 10 and a drop to lose. Second race, was second last again. Someone else dropped early. Team was 1-3 for a good chunk of it, but the Sunshine fell back to last just before the expressway. Team finished 1 (me), 2, 9 to win. Last race didn't go well. I started last. Sunshine jumped ahead again, but took a turn wide around the quarter mark and ran into me trying to get back onto the road. I recovered well and had got up to 2nd, but took a turn wide at 57% and hit a tree, falling back a couple spots. Couldn't catch the lead AI, team finished 4 (me), 7, 8 to lose. But I felt the Lightning was a much better option than the El Camino.

Northern Passage Speed Trap - S2 998 Extreme Track Toys - 225 mph (3 stars is 215) - Used a rally 2010 Mosler MT900S (309 070 429), which is the reward from the Trial. Starting from the Guanajuato Expedition, I hit 230.99. Didn't bother trying from the east.

Escarpment Speed Trap - S2 998 Extreme Track Toys - 187 mph (3 stars is 165) - Starting from the Hilltop Descent, set a new PB of 204.38 with the rally Mosler. Topped out at 176 coming down from the Rush Outpost site.

Camino del Cielo Speed Zone - S2 998 Extreme Track Toys - 142 mph (3 stars is 135) - Starting from the first bend past the west end of the zone, I set a new PB of 146.60 with the Mosler. Couldn't manage an uphill run. Saw the top of my friend leaderboard had a 2012 Hot Wheels Bad to the Blade at 164, though with X class. Tried a stock one and cleared the target both ways, hitting 144.64 going downhill and 143.62 coming up starting from the Barranca Trail. Stock 2011 Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Forza Edition did even better, hitting 148.26 going downhill and 149.45 going up.

Come Rain or Shine - Cross Country - A800 Unlimited Offroad - Used the 2016 RJ Anderson #37 Polaris RZR-Rockstar Energy Pro 2 Truck (145 726 653). This was a bit of a pain. Tried the Rally Fighter first. Rewound a lot on the first race because the thing would roll on turns, but ended up winning. Went to Restos next, had roll issues and lost. So switched to the RJ Anderson. Clean run on the first, but finished 3rd on Restos and 4th on Oasis on my first attempts on each, but won on the second. AI in a Baja Bone Shaker and a couple Extreme Es were the ones that gave me trouble.

Collectibles - Hit 17 outside the stadium, but the counter was only at 14 when I went inside. Pretty sure I hit more than 6 inside before the challenge completed. Found at least 30 inside the stadium. These don't appear as fragile as other stuff. I bumped into some and they didn't make the break sound until I hit them a little harder and they broke apart. Going inside completes today's daily.

Forest Edge Speed Trap - S2 998 Extreme Track Toys - 250 mph (3 stars is 240) - Back to the Mosler. From the bend over the sky in the northwest of the map, I hit 262.70. Starting from the second bend south of the Goliath, I hit 252.94.

Icebreaker - Hazard - B700 Subaru - Used the 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STI (127 056 759). No problems with the sprints, but needed a couple late overtakes to win the circuit, including hitting the lead AI on the final turn.

Series 42, Autumn (Storm) - Jan 9 - Jan 16

Today's daily will be completed with the base game PR stunts (both Rimacs are Hypercars). Sunday's daily overlaps with the 4th chapter of the weekly challenge. Sunday's and Friday's dailies can also overlap with the Hot Wheels Danger Sign, since I used a Mosler and hit 2 stars at a trap on the approach to the jump.

Weekly challenge car is awarded by the Hot Wheels championship.

Trial - Road - B700 Chevrolet Corvette - Used the 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 427 (119 617 078). Fast on straights, but not great on turns, particularly some of the hard ones in these routes. First race, I started as 4th. One teammate dropped right away. Got up to 3rd behind a couple AI pretty quickly, but eventually got passed by my teammates on various turns over the first couple laps. One AI didn't want to be caught. Team finished 2-6 (me 6th) to win. Second race, started last. Moved up a little, but couldn't really get going. Team finished 1-3, 5, 7 (me) to win.

  • Bahía de Plano Circuit

El Toro Scramble EventLab - S1 900 Rally Monsters - 2 laps, about 2:40 per, 0 AI. Couple different path choices during the race, which might be why there were no AI. First lap, I took the airborne half pipes and toward the end the right branch and did 2:41. Second lap, I stayed on the ground and then took the left branch near the end. That took 2:38. So roughly the same time.

Castle Courtyard EventLab - A800 Truck vs. Nomad - This is on EventLab Island. 2 laps, about 1:50 per, 11 AI. Used the 2016 Ariel Nomad (418 098 924). Was a little leery of the Tankpools, but didn't want to use the FE one and didn't have a properly tuned A class regular one. Got into the lead on the big sweeping turn in the northwest on the first lap and was able to pull away. The crossovers in the north center of the map are at different levels, but the one in the northeast loop is at the same level. On the second lap, my lead was enough that I got through it just before the AI crossed. I saw one of the AI trucks on its side from one of the jumps.

Drag Strip Speed Trap - S2 998 Rimac - 230 mph (3 stars is 205) - Since the highway target is out of range of the rally build, I went straight to the aero 2019 Rimac Concept Two (167 202 516). Starting from the base of the Launch Control Danger Sign, I hit 252.48. Starting from the first bend past the 4 way west of the drag strip, I hit 237.08. Only managed about 220 starting from the intersection.

Estadio Speed Trap - S2 998 Rimac - 200 mph (3 stars is 180) - Starting from the 4 way intersection north / uphill of the trap, I hit 207.29. Didn't try an approach from the south.

Federal Highway Speed Trap - S2 998 Rimac - 280 mph (3 stars is 270) - Starting from the cloverleaf interchange, I hit 285.85. Didn't try coming from the east.

Foto Opportunity - Cross Country - B700 Offroad - No problems with the 2014 Ford Ranger T6 Rally Raid (617 431 244). Much easier than last week's Cross Country championship.

Treasure Hunt
Get 5 near misses with a Hypercar on the highway. Don't think anything above a regular near miss is needed, though I picked up a few on my approach for the Federal Highway Speed Trap, so when I saw the requirements, I only needed a couple more. Also not sure exactly what the game counts as the highway, probably the divided section.

Chest location
At the base of the obelisk in the plaza at the west edge of Guanajuato. Head south from the Tunnel Run icon and it will be on your left.

Photo - Fast traveled to the Horizon Oval Circuit icon at the south side of the stadium, switched to a Hoonigan. Didn't register at that point, but did when I went inside the stadium.

Forest Leap Danger Sign - S2 998 Extreme Track Toys - 1,312.3 feet (3 stars is 1,250) - Used a rally 2010 Mosler MT900S (309 070 429). Started from the Goliath, went airborne at 210 mph and cleared 1,371.67. Went through the Forest Edge Speed Trap at 237, which would be enough for tomorrow's daily. Probably also stayed over 100 mph for 10 seconds, which would also cover Sunday's daily.

Zero to Hero - Hazard - A800 Sports Utility Heroes - Used the 2018 Porsche Cayenne Turbo (119 662 635). No problems with the first 2 races. A number of AI didn't want to be caught on the 3rd. Finished 4th on the first attempt, had to do some blocking out at the end to win on the second try. Reward is the weekly challenge car.

It looks like it was a tough week for testing! I also had problems with the Corvette on difficult corners. Especially on tracks with sudden changes in direction, where even a small mistake could affect the result. But your description of strategies and approaches to each challenge is really inspiring! It's good to see how you adapt to the conditions and test different cars. It seems that the Mosler MT900S and Rimac have become the real stars of this season. Are you planning anything interesting with the new cars that will be released in the next update?

By the way, if you are looking for ways to relax between races, I came across an interesting online casino called Casinoly. They https://casinoly-at1.com/ have a great selection of games and bonuses that can be a good break after a strenuous race. I recommend you to try it!

I don't generally keep up with the new cars, other than getting pics of them for Horizon Promo. I use stuff I already have tuned for each week, unless I run into problems or an event requires something I don't have tuned.

Series 42, Winter (Dry) - Jan 16 - Jan 23

Weekly challenge car is awarded by one of the EventLabs.

Trial - Dirt - B700 2014 Ford FPV Limited Edition Pursuit UTE - Used 120 342 609. First race, started as the 4th person. Without much of a PI gap between stock and 700, things were a cluster early on. Things shook out a bit about halfway through the first lap, with 2 people, 2 AI, 2 people (I was 6th). That S turn in the back half of the lap in Guanajuato can be tricky, but I handled it cleanly on 2 of 3 laps. The guy in 5th and I both managed to get ahead of the one AI in the 2nd lap, and there was only a couple cars lengths between each of the first 6 cars. Don't know what the game did with the AI in 3rd at the very end, but the team took the top 4 spots, with me in 4th. Other teammates finished in 7th and 12th for the team win. Second race, started as 3rd person. Again, a lot of bumping early on, particularly with a couple 90 degree turns. Got shoved into a wall a couple times, so was around 10th. Managed to pass a couple AI, with a teammate in front of me having handling issues. Was able to pass him near the end and the only AI left ahead of me on the final turn. Team took top 5, with me in 5th, and 8th to win.
  • Mulegé Town Scramble
  • Cordillera Trail (rain)
  • Desierto Trail
Ranchero Norte Circuit EventLab - S1 900 Track Toys - 3 laps, little over 1 minute per, 11 AI. Used the 2018 McLaren 600LT Coupé (124 424 183). Got into first late in the first lap, AI kept close, got passed briefly on one of the turns near the end. Be mindful of the turns if you rely on the driving line. I only have it on for turns, and maybe it's the way the route is constructed, but I only had lines for the couple slight turns on the downhill stretch at the end of the lap. Had to rewind a number of times to slow down enough for a number of turns. Awards the weekly challenge car.

The-Gulch of Monument Valley EventLab - B700 Sports Utility Heroes - 2 laps, about 1:30 per, 11 AI. Used the 2019 Porsche Macan Turbo (365 902 470). A lot of branching paths. Got into first before the last big turn in the first lap when I went left and the 2 AI ahead of me went right. There is at least one split with a jump you need to accelerate to make. Ended up building a decent lead by the end.

East Resort Speed Trap - S2 998 Anything - 215 mph (3 stars is 200) - Used the rally 2019 Rimac Concept Two (551 707 630). Starting from the Barranca Trail icon, I hit 223.79.

Green Hills Speed Zone - S2 998 Anything - 180 mph (3 stars is 160) - Hit 190.94 with the rally Rimac starting from the first bend past the east end of the zone.

Malpaís Trail Blazer - S2 998 Anything - 20 seconds (3 stars is 15) - Hit 23.572 with the rally Rimac starting from the west end of the expressway interchange.

Calm Before the Storm - Street - S2 998 Extreme Track Toys - This championship can be frustrating with the turns at speed and random traffic. Probably would've been absolute hell as a Trial. Tried with the 1996 Ferrari F50 GT at first, but the thing didn't handle well, sliding through a lot of turns. Ended up finishing 2nd in the first race thanks to closing the gap on the expressway, but didn't want to try the other races. So I tried the 2010 Mosler MT900S with a rally build (309 070 429) from last week. Despite having a handling rating a point lower, it felt better than the Ferrari, though still wasn't the greatest at taking the turns. Had to run the 1st and 3rd races twice to win, though the 3rd race was because I got cocky and thought I could recover from a collision near the finish, but got nipped by a rubber banding AI. Switched to a race suspension Mosler (181 867 490) that handled even better (though still needed some rewinding to fix turns) and won all 3 races on the first try. I did shove 2 AI on the hard right at about 60% of the 3rd race to get ahead (did the same with the lead AI the other time, which is part of the reason I got cocky).

Photo - Knocked this out first. Well, technically second since I was in the 2011 Bugatti I used for yesterday's daily that costs more than 2 million, so today's daily was completed. Fast traveled to the Las Dunas Cross Country icon, got the car and telescope both in the shot, photo registered.

Hot Wheels

Dragon's Fall Speed Trap - S2 998 Extreme Track Toys - 270 mph (3 stars is 230) - Gave the race 2010 Mosler MT900S (181 867 490) a try. Fast traveled to the bend of track that sticks out by The Cauldron. Game puts you a little farther back, but you can hit a booster. Scraped the bottom a little but still managed 279.71. Tried the rally tune (309 070 429) and hit 286.05.

Trial - Street - B700 Toyota 86 vs Subaru BRZ - Used the 2022 Toyota GR86 (592 048 575). It's an exclusive, but it was only 1 of 2 I had tuned and didn't want to wait for another Trial cycle. First race, started as 4th person. Moved up well and team settled into top 4 pretty quickly. We were spaced out enough that the hard left around 40% wasn't a problem. Team took top 4, with me in 2nd, then 9th and an early drop to win. Second race, started as second person. Got up to 3rd behind a couple AI pretty quickly. Accidentally bumped a teammate in the trip around the castle (I think the person that won the first race), though they appeared to recover since they were in 5th. They passed me on the downhill way into Guanajuato, while I passed one of the AI ahead of me. Went back and forth a bit with the other AI ahead of me, but then on the hard right leaving Guanajuato, I tried to take the outside on the AI, when a teammate ran into the AI, which shoved me into a wide turn and into one of the buildings. Managed to recover a little, but couldn't catch the leaders. Team took 1, 3, 5 (me), 8 and 11 to win.

Scale X Tricks EventLab - S1 900 Track Toys - 1 lap. Lap took 3:10.552, overall race was 3:14.639. 11 AI. Used the 2018 McLaren 600LT Coupé (124 424 183). AI was aggressive, didn't get into first until about 2:38. A lot of places to get caught on. Stick to the driving line. Thought I spotted a potential short cut since it had arrows, but it wasn't. Quickly dropped from 5th to 12th and had to rewind to get back on track.

Synthwave Speedway Road Course EventLab - S1 900 Modern Supercars - This is on EventLab Island. 2 laps, about 2:25 per, 5 AI. Used the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupé (265 421 874). Got into first around the hairpin about 2/3 through the first lap. AI kept close until the 2nd lap pass through the hairpin.

Baja Showjump Danger Sign - S2 998 Anything - 984.3 feet (3 stars is 850) - Used the rally 2019 Rimac Concept Two (551 707 630). Starting from the 4 way intersection southeast of the ramp and going airborne at 178, I hit 1,239.28.

Ladera Speed Zone - S2 998 Anything - 100 mph (3 stars is 95) - Starting from the slight S curve past the east end of the zone, the rally Rimac managed 101.79. Slow through the initial curves, then floored it. Barely made the curve at the end without hitting the building on the left. Took a couple tries, but managed 100.46 starting from the first turn past the west end. Did 102.54 and 101.21 with a stock 2011 Lamborghini Sesto Elemental Forza Edition.

Barranco Trail Blazer - S2 998 Anything - 35 seconds (3 stars is 30) - Hit 36.905 with the 1986 Hoonigan Ford RS200 Evolution (780 472 164). Started from the El Descenso Cross Country.

To the Limit - Speed - S2 998 Hypercars - Only some handling issues with the rally Rimac (551 707 630). Tried first with a 2018 McLaren Senna, but my tune (996 070 065) topped out at 216 mph. Won the first race, but came in second in the second race. Could've probably won it with a 3rd lap, but the Rimac gets into the mid-250s and was able to make the races laughers. Series 43, Summer (Wet) - Jan 30 - Feb 6

For some reason, today's daily automatically checked off before I ever left the house.

The mainland PR stunts use the weekly challenge car. The Speed Trap stunt can overlap with the second chapter.

Trial - Street - A800 Ford Mustang - Used the 2018 Ford Mustang GT (163 310 707). First race, started as first person. Got up to 2nd behind an AI pretty quickly. A couple teammates were close behind, but couldn't get past me. Wasn't intentionally trying to block them out on turns, but I was trying to take them clean. Took the hard left at 40% wide to let them by, got by one of them again shortly after. The lead AI couldn't be caught, team finished 2, 3 (me), 5, 10-12 to lose. Second race, started as second person. Got into the lead around 20%, let a teammate pass me around 25% and was a pretty straightforward race from then on out. Team took top 4 (me in 2nd), 11 and 12 to win. Third race, was 2nd person again. Tried to pass the AI in the middle of the road, leading to some bumping from them, but allowed a couple teammates to pass on the sides. Another straight forward race, with me right behind the leaders. Team took top 4 again (me in 3rd), 9 and 11 to win.

Rally of the Ancient Ruins EventLab - A800 Modern Rally & Rally Monsters - 2 laps, about 3 minutes per, 11 AI. Used the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR (101 741 761). Got into first after a couple turns, on the straight stretch running parallel to the drag strip. Stayed in the lead, but never really pulled away.

Heights of Mulegé Danger Sign - D500 1965 Pontiac GTO - 524.9 feet - Thought about trying it stock, but the rated top speed was only 127 mph, well below the Speed Trap target. So I swapped the V12 and gave it a Street Transmission, which gave it a good top speed boost (720 528 816). But it also took the handling down a couple notches, which is a real pain for this. Tried numerous times, but any slight sideways movement and the car has real trouble correcting. Finally got a fairly straight approach starting from the expressway and cleared 547.15. Went airborne at about 90 mph. Only cleared about 490 when going airborne around 84.

Gran Puente Speed Trap - D500 1965 Pontiac GTO - 140 mph - Starting from the split west of the trap, I hit 149.15. Kept going until I saw the 2nd chapter of the weekly complete. Starting from the big turn east of the trap, I hit 155.

Series 43, Autumn (Storm) - Feb 6 - Feb 13

Like last week, the mainland PR stunts use the weekly challenge car. For the weekly challenge, a stock Cadillac can complete the 2nd chapter, as can the A class tune from last week's championship. That tune is also worth more than 30k in upgrades, though since it doesn't get to S1 class, I'm not sure if it will complete the 3rd chapter. The S1 tune I have for the PR stunts will clear the mark even starting with the A class tune, since the V12 engine alone costs 50k. Used an auto-win blueprint at the Festival Drag Strip (138 641 660) for the final chapter.

Trial - Road - A800 Dodge Modern Muscle - Used a rally 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat (732 671 574). Wanted to used the Charger, but clicked A too quickly, thinking the current car was first in the pick list. First race, started as first person. Got by 5 AI pretty quickly, then the lead one on the first hard left turn. That AI kept closing and falling back throughout most of the race. A teammate got even with me around 90%, but I pulled away at the end after a little bumping on a turn. I won and the rest of the team finished 2nd and 5-8 to win. Second race, I started last. Blew past everyone fast. Teammates settled into next couple spots partway through, and let a teammate past me at one point. Got ahead again and pulled away. Team took top 3, with me winning, 5th and 8th with a drop to win.

Chemical Plant EventLab - C600 Hot Hatch - This is on EventLab Island. 2 laps, little under 2 minutes per, 5 AI. Used the 2007 Honda Civic Type R (632 769 822). Got into first during the back and forth turns in the first lap. A few AI kept close the rest of the way.

Basejump Danger Sign - S1 900 2016 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan - 1,476.4 feet - Used 443 183 101. Started from the bend past the Escarpment Speed Trap and squeaked over with 1,479.99. Went airborne at about 154 mph. Fell about 50 feet short starting from the speed trap, going airborne at about 145.

Costa Rocosa Speed Zone - S1 900 2016 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan - 80 mph - Starting from the bend past the east end of the zone, I hit 86.53. Starting from nearly the bend downhill from the west end, I drifted through the bend at the top of the hill and hit 87.26.

East Coast Drift Zone - S1 900 2016 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan - 100k - Starting from the intersections past each end of the zone, I hit 142,183 coming from the west and 140,074 coming from the east.

  • Bosque del Sur
  • Carretera Chase
All American Heroes - Dirt - B700 USA Sports Utility Heroes - No real problems with the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT (488 089 915), though the AI kept close on the circuits. Unless one of the stock A class vehicles can drop to B, only 2 choices for this. I tried an already tuned 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but could only manage to get up to 4th toward the end of the first race. Just lacked speed. When I tried with the Durango, got up to 2nd by the start of the 3rd lap, behind a Cherokee.

Make a figure 8 around the container piles outside the entrance to the Street Scene Outpost. Not sure if you have to make a couple or if you have to do it a certain way. Got the completion when I went clockwise around the east one and counterclockwise around the west one.

Chest location
Follow the road south from the Stadium Build Stub. Before you get to the next intersection, there's some building on your right with an XP board. The chest is in the middle of those buildings.

Photo
Go south through the Avenida Speed Trap and the Neon Tank will be on the north face of the third building on your right. Switched to a Retro Muscle and the photo registered.

Water's Edge Drift Zone - S1 900 Drift Cars - 120k - Used the 2013 Formula Drift #777 Chevrolet Corvette (206 609 488). Starting from the intersections past each end of the zone, I hit 143,052 starting from the north and 129,537 starting from the south.

La Cantera Danger Sign - S1 900 Modern Muscle - 984.3 feet - Used the Cadillac from the mainland PR stunts. Started from the far bend of the paved road leading to the jump, went airborne at 130 mph and hit 1,028.63. Could've gone faster, but wanted to keep control when cresting the hill approaching the ramp.

Series 43, Winter (Dry) - Feb 13 - Feb 20

Once again, the weekly challenge car doubles with the mainland PR stunts. One of the stunts is a Danger Sign, and the 3rd chapter of the weekly is get 3 stars at Danger Signs.

Trial - Road - C600 Chevrolet Classic Muscle - Used the 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28, upgrading my D class tune to C (763 736 854). Car was good enough to finish in the top half, but not top of the field. First race, started last. A lot of bumping throughout the race, even once we got past the AI. One AI didn't want to be caught, one teammate was in 2nd with a few of us jockeying for 3rd. Team finished 2-6, I was 4th, and 9th to win. Second race, started last again. Someone dropped at the start. Pretty straightforward race, I managed to nip a teammate right at the end. Team finished 1 and 3-6 with me in 3rd to win.
  • Bola Ocho Circuit
  • Panorámica Sprint
  • Plaza Circuit
Sunset Circuit EventLab - S1 900 Track Toys - 1 lap, race took me 3:54.920, 11 AI. Didn't deviate from the standard 2018 McLaren 600LT Coupé (124 424 183) I use for this car type. Got into first in the turns around the expressway interchange south of the festival. The AI kept it close on the expressway, needed to block out an agressive one a couple times. Once off the expressway, I started to make a little separation, which got pretty wide toward the final turn into the festival to end the lap.

Boulder Lake Raceway EventLab - A800 Modern Sports Cars - This is on EventLab Island. 2 laps, little over 1:30 per, 11 AI. Used the 2008 BMW Z4 M Coupé (434 156 224). Got into first toward the end of the first lap, a few turns before the final straight to the end of the lap. Was able to create a little separation and wasn't really challenged after.

Ridge Crest Danger Sign - D500 2016 Nissan Titan Warrior Concept - 459.3 feet - This took a number of attempts, both with tunes and approach angles. Finally cleared it by starting on the expressway, back where another road crosses over. Took the exit toward the ramp, then cut toward the sign at the nearby intersection. First tried 964 863 275 (Race Intercooler and Valves), which had won a CC race and cleared the Speed Trap by a couple MPH. Got within 30 feet a few times, starting from Llanuras Sprint. So back to the drawing board and came up with 508 535 294. Right most Rear Wing to provide more PI leeway for the Sport Weight Reduction. Race Transmission, Street Valves and Sport Engine Block Displacement to get to 500. From the expressway start, I had a clean run, went airborne at about 85 mph and cleared 480.50. Going back to the 964 tune with that approach, I cleared 469.70, jumping at 84 mph. Dropping back to stock, again airborne around 84 and jumped 463.70.

Vado del Río Speed Trap - D500 2016 Nissan Titan Warrior Concept - 90 mph - Tried this event first and with a stock one. Actually managed it, but missed what it was. Tried from the bend south of the barn find to the east. First stock attempt was 89.72, then cleared it, then 89.52. Lost a little speed hitting the water, dropping below the target on the first and third attempts. Using the tune 964 863 275, I hit 92.34 from the bend. First made that tune for winning a Cross Country race, since I fell just short on the Oasis Cross Country with stock. Couldn't manage it coming the other direction, neither going back along the dirt road nor coming down the hill from the highway tunnel. Using 508 535 294, the first tune that cleared the Danger Sign above, I hit 93.35.

Prime Plymouth - Street - C600 Plymouth - No problems with the 1971 Plymouth Cuda 426 Hemi (253 096 757).
  • Las Afueras
  • Guanajuato Sur
  • Cruce del Valle
Van Life - Dirt / Road - A800 Vans and Utility - Only thing I had tuned for this was the 1991 GMC Syclone (182 810 204). It's a hard to find car, was in a couple prior series playlists and should be in the Backstage now. It's fast, but the handling isn't great. Won all 3 races by decent margins.

Canyon Fire Danger Sign - S1 900 Modern Muscle - 1,115.5 feet (3 stars is 1,100) - Used the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 (123 086 341). Starting from the far end of the orange connector track on the map, I hit 1,194.83. Went airborne around 145 mph. Little tricky landing around that distance, since you can fly into one of the tracks crossing the way.

Series 43, Spring (Hot) - Feb 20 - Feb 27

The final original playlist. Again, the mainland PR stunts use the weekly challenge car, but there's no overlaps. The PR stunt requirement says "Ford Mustang '93", but that's the short name for the SVR Cobra R (see the vehicle history page).

The 3rd chapter of the weekly challenge is bugged. Some people on the Forza forums reported it wouldn't check off after painting their car, but did check off after restarting the game. I had done the 2nd chapter earlier, then the PR stunts, then the other events. I switched to a couple other games throughout the day (no Quick Resume) and the chapter was checked off when I checked the challenge before editing in the rest of the challenges.

Trial - Cross Country - B700 F-150 - Used the 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor (214 832 055). Bumped up my C class tune since it's handling was slightly better than my tune for the 2017 F-150 (2.8 vs. 2.7) and hoped to improve on that. Got it up to 3.5, with the ratings for launch, braking and offroad also outpacing the 2017. Hoped the trade offs for lower rated speed and acceleration would pay off. First race, started as 3rd person. Got ahead of all but one teammate in an '86 Lariat and one AI pretty quickly, then created some separation from the field behind. The leaders were battling back and forth a bit, and I managed to close. Got ahead of the AI on a turn in the 60s, with the Lariat getting ahead a bit. Fought with the AI, but got ahead approaching the jump at the end. The Lariat somersaulted upon landing. I landed hard and was slow to get going, but managed to stay ahead of the AI. Because of the gap we had, the Lariat still managed to finish 3rd. Team finished 1 (me), 3, 5, 6, 9, 12 to win. Second race, I started as the first person. The Lariat and I got to the front coming out the first big turn toward the end of the runway. He was leading, but got stuck on the left wall going through the hangar leading to the final turn in the lap, allowing me to take the lead while he fell back to about 8th. I pulled away a bit, with some AI behind, but some teammates got into second and third (the Lariat) in the final lap. Team took 1-3 (I won), 9, 10 and 12 to win.

  • Airfield Cross Country Circuit
  • Costera Cross Country Circuit
Flow Ring EventLab - A800 Track Toys - 2 laps, about 1:40 per, 11 AI. Used the 2002 BMW M3-GTR (617 827 997). Got into first on the final turn of the first lap, shoving a Meyers Manx FE out of the way. The Manx kept relatively close the rest of the way.

Ark Junction Spaghetti EventLab - S1 900 Retro Supercars - This is on EventLab Island. 1 lap, race took me 5:24.535, 5 AI. Used the 2003 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale (114 806 103). Got into first a little over a minute in, but the AI was on me the whole time, with a bunch of back and forth at points. There are various vehicle obstacles on the track (cars, trucks, buses) to avoid, and sometimes it can be tough to tell where to go if you don't have the full driving line on.

Cascadas Danger Sign - C600 1993 Ford SVT Cobra R - 557.7 feet - Used 166 363 793. Started back where the solid dirt road intersects with the paved road approaching the sign. Went airborne at 135 and cleared 584.67. Tried a couple times from the east dashed dirt road coming down from the outpost and went airborne at 118-122 mph and fell 40-50 feet short.

Giro Encorvado Drift Zone - C600 1993 Ford SVT Cobra R - 20k - Starting from the track split on the west side, going clockwise, I hit 28,572. Starting from the Test Track, I hit 27,095.

Cascadas Trail Blazer - C600 1993 Ford SVT Cobra R - 14 seconds - Started from the road just west of the start gate and hit 21.857. Went for the paved road to the north east and followed that until after the Granhas de Tapalpa icon, where I made a near straight run for the finish. There's a stream near the end with a small waterfall with rocks that need to be avoided.

Supersonic Spiral Speed Zone - S1 900 Modern Muscle - 135 mph - Used the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 (123 086 341) again. Starting from the T intersection past the west end of the zone, I hit 136.70. Starting from the blue dot on the track coming out of the loop, I hit 148.30.

Heroes & Hazards - Hazard - A800 Sports Utility Heroes - No real problems with the 2018 Porsche Cayenne Turbo (119 662 635). Had to rewind a few times to line up the canyon drop properly. AI was aggressive, but with a clean landing I managed to stay ahead.

Cráteres Secos Speed Zone - S1 900 Rally Monsters - 65 mph - Used the 1978 Hoonigan Ford Escort RS1800 (555 193 455). Starting from the crest of the hill past the east end of the zone, I managed 65.17. Starting from the bend just past the west end, I managed 65.47. Drifted as well as I could through the turns and just got back above the target.

Played FH5 today and did the Monthly rival events ( my favorite playlist event ). Uninstalled FH5 shortly after. We should get one more update around the PS5 launch that introduces Horizon Realms. If they add new achievements, I might be back. I always keep checking this thread. :)

Here's the original appearance of this week's playlist :

Series 20, Summer (Wet) - Apr 27 - May 4

Saturday's daily can be done in the Trial or Road championship.

Trial - Road - B700 Hot Hatch - Winning attempt was with a 2003 Volkswagen Golf R32 (149 860 237). First attempt in a 2015 Audi S1 did not go well for the team, mainly because of the team. My Audi did alright, came in 3rd in the first race behind a person and an AI. Second race is a real clusterf- with all the turns climbing the mountain leading to a lot of shoving into walls. I was the only person left at the end, in 5th. Second attempt was with the VW Golf that I tuned down from an S1 build. Needed all 3 races, but team won first and third. Started first race as leading player, blew past the AI and won the race, with team taking top 4 spots. Second race, also started as first player. Got into 2nd quickly, but the other players jostled in the turns. Was torn between trying to get into 1st and trying to help my team move up by messing with the AI. Ended up 2nd, with no one else above 6th. Third race, was 2nd player, got quickly into 3rd, then ended up flipping headfirst taking a turn too fast and trying to stabilize myself with a wall on the following straight. Fell back to last, but got back to 5th or 6th.

  • Copper Canyon Sprint (some wet towards the end)
  • Volcán Sprint
  • Dunas Blancas Sprint
The Windy City EventLab - S1 900 Anything - 3 laps, little over 1:20 per, no AI. In rain. Don't be in the middle of the road after hitting the first speed booster of the lap and be prepared to brake after hitting the second.

Mulegé Outskirts EventLab - S1 900 Rally Monsters - 3 laps, about 1:15 per, no AI.

Ridge Crest Danger Sign - S2 998 Anything - 1,476.4 feet (3 stars is 1,150) - Hit 1,701.65 with the untuned rally 2019 Rimac Concept Two (551 707 630). Started at the point where the 2 ramps coming down from the highway connect with the road that goes under it. Cleared the ramp just over 200 mph.

Swamplands Speed Trap - S2 998 Anything - 180 mph (3 stars is 155) - New PB of 191.677 with the 2020 Koeniggsegg Jesko (957 293 364). Started at the 4 way intersection with the dirt road north of the trap.

Atlantes De Tula Speed Zone - S2 998 Anything - 170 mph (3 stars is 150) - Hit 174.79 with the 1998 Mercedes-Benz AMG CLK GTR (173 153 818). Started from the Cascada Trail. Also hit 171.03 with a stock 2011 Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Forza Edition.

Subaru Boogaloo - Grit Reapers - B700 Subaru - No real problems with the 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STI (127 056 759), though the races are all at night and I often thought the AI was right behind me when the light was coming from the helicopter.

  • Reserva Del Carrizo (rain)
  • Switchback Run
  • Joya Marron

I did a quick skim and the only event differences I see are the car restrictions for the EventLabs. Windy City changed from S1 900 Anything to A800 Retro Sports Cars. Mulegé Outskirts changed from S1 900 Rally Monsters to A800 Rally Monsters.

PR stunt targets appear to be the same. Have not gone through all the routes to see if they were all the same. I suspect they are, but who knows.

Standard 40 point reward of a Backstage Pass replaced the 2018 KTM X-Bow GT4.

Forzathon Shop dropped the car prices. Lotus from 600 FP to 550. Audi from 250 FP to 100. Treasure Hunt reward bumped from 100 FP to 300.

Looks like there are reports of the events not providing points.

Had planned to stop running through the playlists on Thursdays because they're repeats, but don't think I'll do anything now until they provide some info or a solution.

I may have uninstalled the game too soon. Horizons Realms arrives April 25 and looks better than I thought ( new stadium track looks awesome). Will there be achievements ?

Before work, we won The Trial and got the Lancer '99. Got home and saw it didn't complete and redid and won again. Still no points and no additional car rewarded. Horizon Arcade Mini Games and Daily did complete and got points. Moving on to Shadow of War until it's fixed.

An update was posted a little while ago that they are working with "the highest priority" to fix the points problem, but they don't have an ETA.

There are enough points from things to earn the 20 points for the car. All the PR stunts work, the daily and weekly challenges, the Arcade and Photo challenges.

The Treasure Hunt challenge is in an odd state. You can complete the riddle by getting the 5 near miss skills, but for my main tag, the chest doesn't appear. The map shows the grayed out "found" icon, but in the playlist menu the tile stays on the chest location and doesn't get marked off. I tried it on a dummy tag that didn't participate in the original series and the chest did appear there. Challenge completed with that tag.

About what I expected, a retroactive awarding of points. There was an early challenge to complete an expedition (IIRC), but the game didn't mark it complete if you had already done it as part of regular play. So they went back and marked it complete for everyone later.

While we are still working on a hotfix to address the issues with the Festival Playlist, we encourage players to complete the Seasonal Championships, EventLab and Trial before the Season ends. The points and progress will be retroactively applied to whoever completed these events once the hotfix is live. The Treasure Hunt issue may take a little longer, but will be awarded to players that have completed any other event during the Summer Season. Thank you for your continued patience.

Have 1 mainland championship and the expansion championships left.
