UPDATE: Many CAGs are reporting that the trade in deal has been extended to the end of July! Be aware that this has not been confirmed and like everything else FYE does, may be very YMMV depending on the competancy of their employees.

Looks like FYE is running their "Brown Bag" trade in deal again.

Basically, anything you trade in (CD,DVD,Game) gets an automatic 20% bump, plus if you elect to get store credit, you get another 25% bump!!! Just be sure that your stuff is in good shape and complete...FYE can be very picky! And also be aware that like any other deal at FYE, this can be YMMV depending on how on the ball the staff is!

According to the brown bags, this promo runs until 7/18/07 so we all have plenty of time to exploit it!

THIS is the bag you need to look for:

So do they actually keep track of what you sell them? Over the past 2 weeks, I've sold 2 sets of Enchanted Arms(PS3) and Rayman Raving Rabbids(360) for about $73 store credit($40 spent) per set to 2 different FYEs. Because one of the FYEs is having the 10% of all new console sales, I really was thinking about pushing for enough credit to get a PS3.

Now the question I have is, if I were to go to different FYEs every day until the end of the brown bag promo with a copy of EA and RRR, would I get in trouble? It seems kinda shiesty, but I really want a PS3.

Basically, if you did a set of EA and RRR at each of three stores till the end of the promotion and even sent someone ELSE in to trade in a set or four, you would probably be shot down after the 3rd set or so, since once they reach a certain limit of the same game and if NO ONE buys the games you're flipping into them, you're SOL pretty quick.

Plus, if you do 8 sets of those games total, you're spending around $320 and making roughly $264 in 'profit' over what you spent, BUT in the end, it's IN STORE CREDIT, NOT CASH. And to me, unless I have the ability to move that money around wherever I want it, it's of NO USE to me.

This is why I stuck to mainly flipping either Kmart clearance games or stuff I found that was SUPER cheap at Gamestop(Powerdrome Racing) and got great credit at their store for a while($14-16 at one point, on an initial investment of $2-4=WIN for me).

Honestly, you could probably get a PS3 cheaper on Ebay now than all the hassle and time it would take to flip multiple sets of games you're paying $40(plus tax, which you're not taking into account either, unless you live in Delaware) for in the FIRST place.

One or two might be good, but only if you wanted something that was twice the amount you paid for the game(s) you're flipping, in which case you're only getting that item for HALF its usual price since that's all you paid for the original game you traded in to get the credit.

Oh and BillG, when everyone here is probably looking for Psychonauts, telling people to Ebay them makes you kinda look like a hoarder, which isn't too well liked around here. Not trying to make waves or anything, just saying, since I traded a copy to a CAG a while back, even though I had the SAME idea for a while.

This community has given me so much in the past 2 years or so, so I felt it was time to give back a little. :D

I flipped 2 enchanted Arms today. The assitant manager noticed the 2nd time around and said

FYE:"Didnt you sell this game earlier? You cant sell the same item twice in 1 day"

Me: Oh sorry bro...i didnt know the store policy. I drove a long way though, can you cut me some slack this time around?

FYE: AHhh, alright. Corporate can get me in trouble for this........But most likely it'll never happen. (Hands me 31 bux)

Me: ha ha ha (fake laugh). Thanks man i appreciate it.

So the guy above me is pretty accurate. They are bound to catch on and most likely will turn people down after numerous copies. My gf is going in tomorrow for another shot. She's gonna polish a few dvds that wasnt qualifed for buyback the 1st visit due to some scratches (one of them being NBA Starting Five). Were gonna put the polished DVDS and NBA Starting5 all on top the 3rd copy of Enchanted Arms. Ill post the outcome, wish us luck.

LOL Punkyngo, the FYE's around here didn't so much just stop me from trading, they just said they had too many(of a crappy game that I knew got great value). I must've traded in like 3-6 copies just for cash value of around $13ish for a while, which made up some of my gas costs from flitting back n forth between my three area FYE stores(4 if I go like 40-50 miles to Johnson City, NY, but I don't go THAT far for a deal ANYMORE LOL).
damn what did you trade in?
In all, I traded in just under 40 DVDs and about 8 games. There were lots of nearly free used blockbuster DVDs and stuff that wasn't even worth selling on eBay.

The best "value" was probably Simpson DVD sets that I no longer needed that sold back for $12-15 each with bonus (and only sell for ~$8 on eBay). Also, Prey (360) gets ~$18 with bonus which is way more than anyone else is giving these days. I probably got at least 75% in credit back what I initially paid for most of this stuff so I was pleased.

Just got back from FYE and the clerk said that Enchanted Arms for the PS3 just dropped down to $19.99. Lucky for me it still traded in at $26.40 before bump but he said that price should change real soon, so if you guys are holding out to trade other stuff in you better hurry. Prices for stuff I traded in, All before percentage bump

PSP

TIGER WOODS GOLF 06 $19.99 (awesome)
Hard rock casino 12.80

Also A special note on secondspin.com they have Timesplitters (the original playstation 2 version ) trading in at $16.00. You can pick this up used at gamestop for $5.00. Thats a great return . No reason to think this price would not be good at FYE since all the prices have been spot on except for Tiger Woods 06. I could not cash in on this (I Tried) but all the copies at my local gamestop stores look like they've been beat to death, and we all know how picky FYE is

No one ever said anything to me — I did the same thing with DDR and VT3 (both 360). And to boot, I did all of it at the same FYE in about a week's time. Probably traded a total of three or four each.

Also, as far as Blockbuster DVDs, I was told they couldn't take them. So I switched DVD cases and brought them back. Took them just fine.

What games, dvds etc have good trade in credit. ETc. Buying low or clearance somewhere and trading it in??

Timesplitters on ps2 won't ring up for whatever is listed on secondspin/wherehouse.com. It's been like this for years. If your copy is in good condition, trade it online.

does anybody know fye's price adjustment policy? like if you find X game at one fye for Y amount but the other fye is selling it for much cheaper, could you get a price adjustment at that particular fye? you guys know how fye kinda dont put games on sale unless they have a bunch..

edit: oh and btw i saw a sign at FYE that says the PS3 60gig is $469 after a $30 rebate.

What I find amazing is how quick they get your crap to the floor. When I traded in EA for the PS3 along with a couple of DVDs, they were already shrink-wrapped and out on the floor by the time I was done shopping!
Timesplitters on ps2 won't ring up for whatever is listed on secondspin/wherehouse.com. It's been like this for years. If your copy is in good condition, trade it online.
There are two different SKNs for Timesplitters, you either have to find a copy with the big money SKN, or if you know how to print out UPC tags...nevermind, I think I've said too much already.

Im sure that was the same way with Darkwatch for the XB, whhich last year was trading in for 25 online... but was cheaper in store total cost

I guess Ill try one more Enchanted Arms while out of town tomorrow, checking the value of the trade in before heading out... if it doesnt pan out, it is still my personal copy and I made enough off the 2 Ive sold to pay for mine

Get those 60 gig PS3's while you can, since I guess Sony is supposed to be bringing over the 80 gb PS3 that was only available in Korea or something before now and dropping the 60gb completely. Worst part about the 80 gig though, is that it has the PS2 hardware removed, software BC only from now on.

Mind you, I keep hearing that the 80 gb(which will be the 60gb's old price of $599)comes with another controller, Motorstorm and the extra 20 gb's of HDD space.

What gets me though, is that if this is all true, Sony is pulling a MS now and releasing newer versions every so often, multiple SKU's are NOT a consumers friend when they're all WAY over the price of the PS2 last gen still.

On topic though, I finally nabbed a paper bag from FYE yesterday, but I have to go through my game collection and see which ones I can bear to part with, namely the stuff I haven't been playing since forever. But, of course, they all have to get something better than $1.00-$2.00 @ secondspin before I'll consider it.

tmnt for xbox 360 is 20 new and 15 used at gc that website the op put up says u get 21.75 before the bump that'll be about 30 which is a nice 15/10 more

i was wondering hollywood video has a sale for 3 for 25 on all preowned dvds so won't that apply to boxsets and tv seasons because if they do they trade for around 15 before the bump each so that would be a preety good profit considering you can use your gamecrazy credit at hollywood

so can anyone tell me if this sale ENDS ON 7/18...as in...they wwon't take anymore trade-ins and give 20% more ON THAT DAY...or is it THROUGH 7/18? as in 7/18 is the LAST DAY you can get 20% more for your trade-ins? if that question makes any sense at all....some help please :whistle2:D

The deal expires at 9pm on 7/18.

I had the guy at my local FYE search for Timesplitters, he only showed one UPC and it was worth a penny. Looks like trading into Wherehouse/Secondspin directly will be the only way to make some money (and they are extremely anal about scratches, which im guessing 99% of the EB/GS copies will have). EA & Rayman are still going strong @ $26.40 & $21.75.

The $469 PS3 after $30 rebate signs were up at my FYE as well. However it seems due to certain confusion with the Helio deal, the deal has now changed to a $50 mail in rebate. Sucks, but at least i was able to get 2 phones for free (already sold one for $55).
So what gets you the most Credit @ FYE? I am trying to get a PSP
So could you send me a PSP? Just kidding, You are a CAG veteran?? how about reading a few posts in this thread.

We did FOOL we ain't blind!!! :applause:
I noticed someone mentioned Rayman and i had no clue what they were talking about. Rayman Raving Rabbids 360 is $17.99 used @ EB and worth $21.75 before the bonus 20-50%.
http://www.ebgames.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=952121
$16.20 with EDGE card :)
My local FYE sold out of PS3s  so I had to go to the Wherehouse which is 30 minutes away! Only paid $80 out of pocket ($50 after the mail in rebate)

QUESTION...if you have multiple copies of the same DVD...is FYE likely to let you trade them in? or will they say only one copy of a title per visit?

thanks for the heads up onthis deal-just got $251 for a bunch of DVDs @ the W. Dundee location.

Mgr there said they are no longer going to carry video games there in 2 weeks, FYI.

so how does the in-store credit thing work? cuz i've honestly never done it before..i've always asked for cash...do you get some sort of certificate saying you have "$this much" in credit to spend at any FYE stores? or do you only get to spend what ever amount of credit you got AT THAT STORE you sold the dvds/games to?

YO FYES FLIPPERS!

Enchanted Arms PS3
Rayman XBOX 360

are prob the best bang for the buck.

But i heard Suikoden V for the PS2 are selling on clerance for around $10 at TRU. Secondspin lists them as buy back for $16.00+%20= $19.20. Not bad if you can find one at a Toys are us.

I sold 3 Enchanted Arms the last few days. Im going back for one last bang if i can get a hold of all three games once again.

All three games cost about 50 bux if you get the Rayman with Edge discount

Enchanted for $21.53 buy back at $31.80
Rayman w/ edge discount $17.45 buy back at $26.10
Suikoden V $11.39 buy back at $19.20
(tax in CA is .0775)

total pay $50.37 to get back $77.10.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL

Technically, the best bang for your buck right now is Simpsons Hit & Run for Gamecube. Its a penny @ Kmart and trades for $6 (6,000% increase). The best buy $1.99 list is huge for great values, but since the clearance was back in Feb, good luck finding any of the games.

The most profitable (and locatable) flip right now is NBA Starting Five @ EB/GS. $1.79 into $14.40 cash or $16.80 credit is a very good turnaround (honestly, unless you plan on buying something right then and there, i think its better to take the $2.40 less and have some cold hard cash in your pocket). GS/EB's store locator has been 100% for me and this game, however it does include 'disc only' games, so you may want to call stores ahead of time.

I just went to Circuit City Today and bought.....

:ps3:Enchanted Arms $19.99
:360:DDR Universe $12.72 (Today was the LAST Day!)

&

I went to FYE and Traded in some stuff and I diddn't even have a Bag to qualify for the percentage sale so I grabbed one while I was in the store and filled it up. It was HALF Full and the Cashier STILL gave me the WHOLE 45% BUMP UP!!! Good Luck to the rest of you!

Veronica Mars Season 1=$12.00
:360:DDR Universe=$21.60
Bruce Lee: Intercepting Fist=$0.25
Bruce Lee: Path of the Dragon=$2.00
:ps3:Enchanted Arms $26.40
:ps2:WWE Legends of Wrestling 2=$1.00
:ps2:MOH European Assault=$6.00
:ps2:NBA Ballers Pheonom=$2.00

Total: $71.25 + 45% Bump Up= $103.31

I went to Game Stop Today to Trade in some PC Games but they told me that they stopped taking pc games since last year...so who does trade pc game trades???

I just threw up in my mouth. EBAY those mofos bro! $30-$40 easy!

The best games to flip are DDR Univers (at least up through today)
and Enchanted arms (at least until it is changed very soon)

I sold Transformers (extra copy from TRU)
Rayman 360
Bust a Movie PSP
E Arms PS3
DDR Universe
for about 133 in cash, off of about 95 spent... tidy little profit since I also found ebay fodder in copies of Lumines as well

My personal days haul of Wade Hixton CP GBA
Transformers PS3
Infected PSP
College Hoops PS3
Rumble Roses XX
and Enchanted Arms PS3 will end up costing me nothing and I will probably make a small profit today even after gas and food purchased.. :)... and ALSO ended up with a nice little 23 dollar gift card for Gametraders by trading in about 20 cents worth of penny guides I had

Nice find on the Tiger Woods PSP game, Beaver. They're pretty easy to find at a GS and only $16.20 after Edge card. Another easy flip for $20 before bonuses. Make a few extra bucks if you're heading to a GS to get 360 Rayman.

Walked in today with a handful of DVD's and about 35 cd's.. walked out with $250 in store credit. In order to trade games, I'll have to drive an hour.. but now that I'm closing the gap on a PS3, I think it'll be worth it :)

I'm seeing Crackdown for $21 before boost.. may be worth it if you only got it for the Halo 3 beta.

It seems that FYE marked down the Samurai Champloo complete boxset to $99.99. With the B1G1F and Backstage pass, it comes out to $90 for two boxes. The boxes go for $100-130 each on ebay. Basically meaning you just turned $90 credit (lord knows how little you paid for the credit) into $200-260 cash.

i went in today and traded in a bunch of dvds, and when i spoke to the people working there they said that its 20% cash OR 25% credit, not 45% credit, and i tried arguing but they wouldnt budge, so i just settled for 100 cash rather than the 25% credit...pretty crappy when it couldve been a nice 40-50 dollar bump, at first the employee thought the deal was over only to be corrected by the girl working next to her

Same here. I have had HORRIBLE experiences with this promotion so far. I was able to get the 45% (25% credit + 20% brown bag) trade-in bonus earlier in the week, albeit with a bit of frustration and hassle. I went into another FYE today, and the employee working gave me a hard time about it saying they would lose money if they were to do 45%. I laughed and told him I had already done it earlier in the week. It seems like this promotion varies by employee lol. Go find a nice younger employee who is only there for the summer and they will take care of you. I sold a ton of junk and have ended up with $300 credit so far. Yay!

this is probably my last flip. im going to do a bunch of crap tomorrow. found a nice store that has a few good stuff plus im aiming for a huge store credit in return. i bought a used Enchanted Arms for $11.xx at GS after my GS giftcard from kelloggs, and the guy was nice enough to scan my edge card. helloooo $39.xx flip!!

also, here are some games you might want to get at TRU if they still have it:

Breakdown - $2.00
Samurai Champloo - $5.00
Amped 3 (360)- $8.98

the 3 above are probably hard to find. but the prices that they had for the 3 are insane! amped is $59, SC is $39, and Breakdown for $20. the most surprising of all was Arc the Lad End of Darkness, they had it at full price for $50!! insane. if anyone can find it at TRU its $7.50.

but, like all fye's, prices may vary. I found a fye with arc the lad end of darkness selling it for $14.99 used. so that means the game is probably cheap brand new.

This deal has been awesome so far but I had my first negative experience today. I went in to a location where I was the first customer to come in with a brown bag since the promotion has been running. This happened last time they ran this promotion as well. They scanned the games and told me the total price for cash. They were only allowed to give the 20% bonus for store credit. I pointed out the signs that they already give 25% bonus for store credit normally but they just didn't get it. They woudn't make any exceptions or call another store to verify. The manager is out of town until later in the week. I held onto my games for another store tomorrow.

I did manage to get the Samurai Champloo complete set so THANK YOU Bezerker! :applause:

Found another good flipper: Pimp My Ride 360 from GF is only $14.60 shipped (with 10% subscriber disc) and trades in at 31.32 after bump.

It actually turned out okay that I was sick this morning (and all day). I'm buried under so many cds that I want to trade in, but I want to rip them all to a hard-drive first. (ethical? Probably not. but my cd player in my car doesn't work, and my laptop does. yes, that's the worlds weakest argument, I know).

Anyway, I have a question. Does anyone know if MS is planning on making a zune with larger than (what is it, 30 or 40) gigs? I like the sharing and fm of the zune, but the 80gig size of the ipod. And my credit is going towards an mp3 player, and hopefully I'll find an FYE with a lot of anime to chose from.

ANYMORE GOOD FLIPS guys???? This whole FYE experience has been way too fun. Since friday my gf and I have sold 5 Enchanted Arms, 1 Rayman, 1 NCAA Football, and a bunch of mindless dvds
!
I think this FYE has had it up to here w/ ENCHANTED ARMS

Looking for more good deals to flip for cold hard cash. Any other suggestions? Pimp My Ride seems awesome however, not enough time to get it shipped from gamefly by Wed.
