GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you. :)

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (as many are doing) since they do have the abillity to bann you from all GameRush locations if they want to. If you do get banned from GameRush for scamming them, don't bitch about it. Otherwise, I will be forced to make fun of you.

Anyone else find it somewhat odd that the dates for the trade-in prices on the Gamerush page changed from Dec. 22-31 to Dec. 15-22 today? I would have thought they'd go ahead in time, not backward.
 
Man i gotta hurry up tomorrow and grab up some cheap ps1 games. I'm feeling an urgency. Like when you eat bad beans and they rise up on you! Eb will be pillaged.
 
Yeah, I went yesterday to rent a few games (Thanks BB.com), and I noticed the trade 3 was still going on.

Also, does GameRush sell NEW/USED XBOX systems? If so, do they have the Holiday pack with Top Spin/NCAA Football? My fiance wants another XBOX so she can play HER games when I'm playing.

I picked up a new XBOX from a GR last week. It arrived at their store on Tuesday. It was the holiday edition, but they couldn't tell until they unpacked it.

They had no game console inventory (save Gamecubes) until after Christmas. I'm hoping they start getting the DS again soon. Locally, their trucks arrive on Tuesdays, but they do get UPS and Fedex shipments daily.
 
If anyone is looking for it, I saw a couple copies of KoToR 2 pre-owned at the Buckingham GR in Richardson. I would have taken one, but i'm waiting for the PC version.

I saw a copy there yesterday too. Some dude was looking at the preowned Gamecube games and the CSR guy was there chatting with him when he saw it and placed it back into the Xbox section. I would've gotten it but I already have it so I picked up The Bard's Tale instead, first time I've seen that used at GameRush... :D
 
Man, I hope I can find a KOTOR 2 before next Tuesday. I'm getting ready to go on a trip to Orlando, so hopefully they'll have GameRush's and a good selection there.

Oh, and I was able to pick up NCAA College Basketball 2K3 for GameCube today from GameRush. That's the first time I have ever seen the game. I usually don't buy games to resell them for a profit, but when it's something as ridiculous as a three year old sports game... eBay here I come. :D
 
I talked to both Gamerush managers at the two local stores and neither knew about the Trade 2 get a new game for 29.99 and they both said the Trade 3 get any used for 10 would be going on for awhile. The closest store said they have a booklet with dates of the upcoming promotions(note I didn't see it he just said) and that it didn't mention anything about the T2GN29.99. I was looking forward to using it and the trade in any for 5 to grab Suikoden 4 and RE4 for $20 each. :(

Anyone know how much X-Men Legends gets? I'm guessing 20 or so but just wanted to check.

The manager of my local GameRush says they don't see many systems. I guess there's a shortage of both PS2s and Xboxes. I never would've guessed this; I'd think they would've stocked them to the ceiling.

On a related note, I read something saying Wal-Mart told Asian distributors NOT to rush their shipments of certain electronics, anticipating a slow holiday. Since 10% of all goods imported to the US are for Wal-Mart, that probably messed with every other retailer who stocks/carries game stuff. Yet another reason to hate Wal-Mart, as if you need anymore (low wages, bad benefits, union-busting, small business ruining, etc.).

Unfortunately, when I called a few minutes ago they don't have it anymore. I wanted to get KOTOR 2, but not as badly as I want MGS 3. Oh well, a step late I guess. Also have any one have problems trading in PS1 games for the trade 3 get 1 for $10 at the Buckingham GR? I ask because the guy said they don't allow PS1 games.

Mr_hockey66, you're lucky that the employees at your store are ignorant since deals aren't suppose to work in conjunction with other deals. No "double-dipping".

Yeah, I stopped by this afternoon to rent a movie and KOTOR 2 was gone. As for MGS3 tho, I saw a copy of it at the Lavon store on Saturday. Not sure if they still have it tho...
 
Actually, I was able to get KOTOR 2, though it is in one of those crappy case without the cover. It seems the employee did not know they have a copy or just say no to anyone that calls. As for the one on Lavon, I think it is most likely gone. I went there yesterday and did not see MGS3. I hope to get that before this deal is over.

Mr_hockey66, you were able to get those games for $5 a piece? That's pretty amazing considering that you got more credit at GR than what you pay for.
 
i wanted to know if anyone knows when the trade 3 get any used game for $10 ends, because i am hoping that the new deal that they are starting up, trade 3 get any new game for 30, lasts until late february-late march when all the great xbox games will be coming out.
 
It's supposed to end the 10th but some have stopped it as of the 3rd. YMMV for stores that extend it to the end of the month.

Double dipping rules. Ask your gamerush people. I called in asked if it would work like that. The manager said yes. So I went. Its going to be funny going back in tomarrow and tarding in the excat games I just baught the night before and getting more money then picking up the same games again! gamerush has crazy deals but if I wanted too i could keep doing this everyday till this deals ends and make crazy store credit. And im not doing any thing illegal. Just trading! :) Im a game day trader!

Every store I have been to says the following things, and knows them by heart. In fact, come to think of it, I think only managers handle trades here.

1. Trade 3, Get a USed for $10 is once per day.

2. Deals cannot be combined (ie #1 and B2G1Free)

3. The definition of flipping and/or fraudulent use of the account.

#3 is probably the big one that I would think Will get you in trouble Mr Hockey... The computer at each location can show what you traded in and what you purchased so even if it's different people every day doing your trade, if they can read, sooner or later they will catch on.

I think if you can get away with it, hey, more power to ya. But I think it's pretty much understood that no one really cares to read about it, nor is it a deal that can be had by all.
 
I rolled to Gamerush for the first time today (In the Colony TX, I live in Alb, NM) to trade in 3 PSX games for NFSU2 and the douchebag stated they don't take PSX games for the trade 3 get 1 for $10. So I was pissed but didn't feel like arguing since he obviously had the I.Q. of a two-year-old. On the way to Urgent Care I stopped at another GameRush and they said this guy was an idiot. So I was at my cousins watching USC lay down a wreck and I decided to stop back in at the first GR. I stop in and pick up Killzone for $7 after the $3 they added to my trade. They had Pikmin 2 that I wanted a few days ago, but apparently sold it, oh well. Not too bad.

my bad. i wanted to know when the trade 3 get a used game for 10 started, so i can get an idea when the new deal will end.

also, is there any clarification on the get at least $5 on any game trade?
 
I called my fave GR and asked bout the new deals. Unfortunately, I got the dumbest one who works there. I mean, this chick is clueless and she royally screwed up my Halo 2 preorder. She didn't know anything about anything, so I can't confirm the + $5 for each game deal. I have about 4 games that I want to trade in just to build up credit, but I'm holding off for this.
 
Well.....I went to THREE different GameRush's last ngiht to try and find an XBOX system, no luck. All of them OOS. I'm going to try another at lunch today. I'm in no hurry, since it's a second one for me....but my fiance wanted it to play HER games ;)

Hopefully I'll have better luck soon. Also, hopefully we get some news about some NEW deals soon. I have a few games I want to trade off

Try calling before you go. GR employees usually will tell you if they have stuff (and what you'll get in trade) and it'll save you a bunch of time.
 
Does the new deal, trade 3 get new game for 30 also allow credit from trades against the 30?

Are they really bringing back the trade x games get additional $y (or as it was in the past, $y per game)?

Would make sense to build credit at both GR and EB/GS/etc at the same time, cycling each stores inventory, as EB has much better selection IMO.
 
Ended up getting Smackdown Vs Raw today...
I have a feeling that I'm not likely to hit on much else for the remainder of the promo...
unless I feel like going and picking up Crash Twinsanity (it's one of the few "newer" games that still seem to be in.)

Hehe, you guys are flocking over the KOTOR2 i traded in. If you DO find it be warned, No Cover art. I kept the case cause they are going to throw it away anyways...

IDK If anyone took it, I traded it in on release day of MA2 (traded towards it) which was on the 30th
 
i hope gamerush starts taking preorders on psps soon. i really need to make about 100 bucks in credit over the week so i will have enough credit to get the psp value pack and some games on launch day.

Yep, just 5 for DS...3 were taken by employees (DrFrielgood? :) ) where i picked mine up
 
anyone know when the trade 3 get and used game for 10 started? i am hoping this new deal they are starting will last through march. if it does woohoo. if it doesnt doh.

Haha, yep it was definately 5 per store for the DS. At my store, 3 were taken by employees (1 for me), another by Wshakspeare, and 2 more by another customer. So we accidently took 6 preorders. Luckily, we got 10 DSs in for launch. They were gone by early afternoon.
 
Also, I've been on vacation and sick for the last week, so I can't deny or confirm any of the new deals. I work tomorrow, so I'll be sure to check the calandar and see what will be starting on Tuesday to replace the trade 3, get 1 for $10 deal (which I'm fairly sure ends on the 10th)

That'd be great! Thanks for doing this. I have 8 games that I want to trade in to build up credit, but I'm waiting just in case the +$5 deal takes effect.
 
Yeah, I probably have about 4 or 5 games to trade in also.....and there is nothing "used" that I want....so hopefully they will have some better deal. Thanks for looking out for us....

Now, if only GameRush would get some XBOX systems in stock so I can get another.
 
how long do gamerush deals normally last for? i am hoping the trade 3 get any new game for 30 will last through march. also, can u preorder games doing this deal?
 
As an FYI, a few of the DFW regular Blockbusters (with no GameRush) that were doing the 3 for $10 have stopped.

Interesting nitpick: I went in today and some newbie gave me a new game for $10 when I'd traded in 3, but he refused to apply the credit from the 3 to the price. I called out the asst. mgr. who likewise refused, asking me why it would be that way. I was polite, but I pointed out that they created the deal, not me. I even asked him to call other BB's in the area to confirm, but he refused.

I asked for the manager's name, and told him I'd be in to meet her tomorrow. I reinforced that I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I that I KNEW I was right in this one. He said, "I understand, and it's fine," but still wasn't helpful. Ah well, I'll be in for my money tomorrow.
 
The Lavon location in Garland still had the fliers and signs out for the trade 3 get a used game for $10 and they had a very nice selection, too. Kingdom Under Fire, Def Jam FFNY, Mortal Kombat Deception and several others were games that I wanted.

It won't be there until Tuesday so I can't say how it is. The manager told me he ordered a copy for himself too and that's why he was sure there were no extras, sadly. I don't hold high hopes for the game though after the bad pro reviews and normal user reviews but so many hate/hated 3 while I loved it that I will have to just wait and see for myself. If the Trade in and get a new game for $30 works out though it will make it only 20 or so after store credit for the traded games so it's worth a shot no matter what.
