CAGiversary!
ALL INFO AND DEALS FOR GAMERUSH (pm/post with any suggestions)

If your in the Oklahoma City area stop by my store at Nw 50th and MacArthur (for now). If your a flipper/scammer at least spare my store the crap titles unless its for presales...thanks. If your good I may hook up with with a special "modification" to a current deal that you may greatly enjoy...

Please note in the next few weeks I will be changing stores to Hefner and Rockwell. They needed the help and while I like my store the pay raise was justifiable and my current sm is moving to pittsburg.

Current Deals

Trade 3 games get an extra $5 per game (LAST DAY IS MAY 16!)

Beginning March 15th till May 23rd, trade 3 games get an extra $5 per game. PSP, NDS, GBA, Xbox, Gcube, and PS2 only. No sports games before '04 and no Freestyle Street Soccer, or minigames/demo discs (the usuals). Also be aware some titles that sell for $4.99 may not work either (Haven, Project Eden, etc.) So don't get upset when they don't.

You may be limited to 10 per day though YMMV.

Trade 2 games and get New Releases and Pre-Orders for $29.99 til September 5th (subject to change)

Should go till September 5th. New releases and Preorder games only $29.99 with 2 game trades (see exclusions above or aka the usual).

Buy 1 get 1 50% til close of business May 16

This works on all preowned games including retro/n64. If any employee disagrees they can call my store at 1-700-22-40049 (not many people know about it but it calls the store in the company by the last 5 digits store code).

Buy 1 Preowned game get another 1 for 50% off. Takes off lowest priced title so separate and make sure employee scans your groups and barcode seperate.
Price and selection will vary by location and quantities are limited. Offer not valid on previously rented movies, sale items or in conjunction with any other discount or offer. Discount taken at register and will be applied towards lowest price games(s). Customer responsible for applicable taxes. Limit 2 per title per customer per day. Maximum of 20 Pre-owned games per customer per day.

1 out = $14.99 the first month....$19.99 thereafter
2 out= $24.99 the first month...$29.99 thereafter

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

$0.99 Retro Games

All Dreamcast, Snes, Genesis, and Nes games are $0.99. Games available depend on which store you go to. Games may not be marked as $0.99, but they will ring up that price. Trade in value of all games on these systems is now $0.25.

OTHER INFO

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you.

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) they do have the abillity to ban you from all GameRush locations if they want to (and as I have done but that was only because I was tired of crap PS1...).

Release dates - Go by the shipping date. 9 times out of 10 it is not what the Blockbuster computer says. The computer date is when traditional stores can expect to receive their rental games.

Game Rush receives games typically on Tuesday and Wednesday of the games release. Only reason EB and Gamestop get them a day before is because they get special shipments or their dm picks the games up and brings back that evening (or they are near distribution centers).

Some games have street dates but this is few and far between (outrun 2, halo 2, star wars episode 3, doom 3 are it in the past 6 months).
holy shit. i thought ksuwild had an amazing list with 25 games. 69 games paid for!!! that is insanity. i must congragulate you. you must either have a lot of games for xbox, ps2, gc that you have held on to, or you bought 100 cheapies at your loccal stores. :) at first i thought the list was all of the games available for PO.

doubledown- here are the xbox 2 games that i know of off the top of my head. they are listed under "xbox" though.

madden 2006
True Crime:SoLA 2
THUG 3
Quake 4
Burnout 4 (not sure if its next gen)
the next need for speed game (not sure if its next gen)

thats it. in about a month or so once i have beat all of the current single player games i am playing (doom 3, jade empire and psychonauts) i will trade them in once they get perfect dark 0 and another good xbox 2 game in their system.
Versions of all of those games (other than Quake IV maybe) are very likely to be coming out for Xbox, so you could very well end up with the Xbox version unless you switch it when they are changed in the system.

Hey which PSP games are you preordering, I'm having a hard time picking one.

The in-store flyer for 4/19 has the following trade-in prices listed:

Games:

$35
Doom 3 (Xbox)
Jade Empire (Xbox)
Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition (PS2, Xbox)
God Of War (PS2)
Dynasty Warriors 5 (PS2)
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (PS2, GCN, Xbox)

the ones i have on preorder are:

NBA Street
Gran Turismo 4
Grand Theft Auto
Coded Arms
Jak and Dexter

Thanks--looks like i'm taking in God of War today--great game, done with it and i'd rather have $35+ instead of if sitting on my shelf looking pretty.

Also--Looks like they have cracked down officially at Arcadia GR--I've been denied twice now with two different employees so no more double dipping there.

I picked up at least 60 of the CC 1.99 games this weekend. Been picking up cheap games where I can, CAG helps with the $5 deals at Best Buy, Circuit City, EB Games and the green tag sale at Toysrus. Plan on switching a lot of those titles to X-Box 2 when it is out for sure.

Could someone explain this to me? It's possible to trade in ANY two used games to get a NEW game at a Gamerush for $29.99? Do all Blockbusters have Gamerushes?

I'm confused. Do I have to have some membership card?

Any current gen games other than sports games older than 2004 or Freestyle Street Soccer will work for the deals. You have to be a member at Blockbuster and sign the trade agreement. Most Blockbusters do not have GameRushes. If your Blockbuster has a GameRush you would know it as it has it's own area and plenty of signs.

To answer your questions: Yes, you will need to have BB membership to trade-in at Gamerush or BB.

No, each BB doesn't have a Gamerush. Gamerush is a special video game store that was created by BB.

I would recommend Death, Jr. also - and it comes out before most of these other ones as well...
Here is what I have preordered so far if it helps anyone for what is in the system

Area 51 (Bonus Midway Arcade Treasures) X-Box
Conker X-Box (Free DVD)
I have both of these pre-ordered too, but there's no mention of anything extra on my receipts, and the Gamerush employee didn't say anything about this either. Are we just guaranteed to get the extra discs, or do you have to specifically ask for this stuff, does anyone know...?
I would recommend Death, Jr. also - and it comes out before most of these other ones as well...
i am definately interested in the game. i will probably preorder that and socom:pSP next time i go to gamerush.

i also think i will cancel my battlefield 2 preorder. the pc version looks amazing, but the xbox version wont come out until november, and the graphics look horrible. does anyone think there is a reason for me to keep the game on preorder?

it doesnt say anything on the receipt. when you go to pick up area 51, ask the gamerush employee for the midway arcade treasures 2 for free, because they are giving the game out w/ an area 51 preorder. i dont know if GR will get the conker dvd though
That's just through the A's...

Thanks for the list, but GOOD LORD MAN!

You should post this in the Gamerush preorder thread in Deal Discussions & Bragging Rights also - they'll get a kick out of it there.
Yeah its a damn impressive list. If you exploit sales like the CC 1.99 sale and the TRU 90% off clearance, as well as the odd Echo Night Beyond here and there, and you have a Gamerush that will let you double dip, then you can quite easily go to town. You can get new $50 games pre-ordered for as little as $10-$15 out of pocket!

Anyway, is From Russia With Love in the system yet? It was just announced for an Oct. 10 release

This is exactly what I've been doing (and the $10-$15 is dead on). I'm a little worried that I have too high a profile at my GR - my 12 preorders are way more than anyone else has there according to the employees. So I've been doing a lot of trade-ins at non-GR BB's. This week I'm going to find a 3rd regular BB to dump some of these duplicates (Constantine, the CC $1.99 GBA games, NBA Live 2004 from Target). Sure, I'm losing alot of potential preorders or new games that way, but I feel lucky that my GR double-dips and I've got more than enough already on preorder.

in the past month, ive gone on a preorder splurge. i went from 6 games to 15 games. during this time, i became obsessed with trading to gamerush. the past week i have tried to limit myself since i have enough on preorder. and GR is amazing. the 15 games paid for cost me $300 out of pocket w/CA tax. i think i will cancel my battlefield 2 preorder and my UC2 preorder when i pick up psychonauts. the last trading i will do for awhile will be tomorrow. i will trade 4 cheapies for socom:psp and death jr (thanks for reminding me). then i wont trade until there are any great unannounced psp games or xbox 2 titles. i will still have $220 in credit, which i will save for next gen

If you have a capable gaming PC--there is no reason you'd want it on Xbox.

However, if you are really into the genre and don't have a gaming pc--it couldn't hurt to hold onto it until something else comes out that catches your eye.

Personally I'm waiting for the PC version, keyboard + mouse > any gamepad for FPSs!

i have a decent pc, not too good for gaming, but i ran hl2 on medium (2.4 ghz intel, 512 ram, 128mb nvidia mx440), but i think the new battlefield 2 game would rape my pc. i wont be able to run it, and i think i will just stick to console gaming. the reason why i want to cancel it is i got it with the trade 2 get any game for 29.99, and my gamerush will give me back 50 for it. id rather have the 50 in credit,

i forgot about another game that is confirmed for xbox 2, and it will be a must buy:

call of duty 2. its not a sequal to finest hour, its a sequal to the pc version. the game will be developed by the same people that made the pc version, which was one of the best games of the year when it came out. i will preorder this along with death jr tomorrow.

PS2
Ratchet & Clank: GC - $8
Karaoke Revolution - $11

Xbox
Second Sight - $4.50
Timesplitters: FP - $25

No double dipping for me, so prices don't include extra $5. I can also add Pariah and Star Wars: RotS to my pre order list. I'm going to try and hold off on any more trade ins and pre oreders until after E3.

No UC 2 or Psychonauts today at my Gamerush. They got the rental copies in though, and they expect to get the copies they can sell tomorrow.

Do they actually have Perfect Dark Zero in the system for pre-ordering. I can't wait to E3 and see what games I should be pre-ordering. Also on the NFL Draft EA is going to premire footage of the "next-gen" Madden, I assume its going to be Xbox 2 footage, and the one screen I saw looks amazing (if its an in game shot).

.......Also--Looks like they have cracked down officially at Arcadia GR--I've been denied twice now with two different employees so no more double dipping there.[/QUOTE said:
yup! altadena, monrovia, arcadia, and probably pasadena too. but we still got the rest to dd. try whittier, downey, monterey park, and more.

lordy, lordy, those constantines!
No UC 2 or Psychonauts today at my Gamerush. They got the rental copies in though, and they expect to get the copies they can sell tomorrow.
Same story at my GR for UC2. I figured Psychonauts wouldn't be in 'til tomorrow. If they get Wrestlemania on time, I'll just pick up all three of them on Thursday! With Jade Empire, MC3: DUB and life in general, I'm in no rush to dive into a new game! It's going to be tough to resist Psychonauts though.....
Do they actually have Perfect Dark Zero in the system for pre-ordering. I can't wait to E3 and see what games I should be pre-ordering. Also on the NFL Draft EA is going to premire footage of the "next-gen" Madden, I assume its going to be Xbox 2 footage, and the one screen I saw looks amazing (if its an in game shot).
not yet. i cant figure out what to preorder. i will PO 2 games, but which one should i save?

Death Jr
Call of Duty 2
X-men Legends 2 (PSP)

i am leaning towards X-men Legends 2 and Death Jr. CoD 2 wont be out for a really long time, and i will wait to preorder since it actually might be an xbox game. if its confirmed for xbox 2, i think i will preorder. maybe ill PO 3 games. heh.

i cant wait for GR to put in some xbox 2 games in their system. im hoping they add them before the extra $5 for 3 games deal ends.
I have both of these pre-ordered too, but there's no mention of anything extra on my receipts, and the Gamerush employee didn't say anything about this either. Are we just guaranteed to get the extra discs, or do you have to specifically ask for this stuff, does anyone know...?
The Midway game is a reminder to me to pick it up with the game, GR had an ad in store for the deal so they should get it, the Conker DVD has not come in, but a news release said MS was going to offer a free making of DVD with preorder, but no luck so far, but I put it on my pickup list to keep asking for it

Try the GameRush on Azusa Ave & Amar Rd (2500 South Azusa Avenue West Covina, CA 91793) to see if they still double dip. Last time my friend was there (3 weeks ago) and they allowed double dipping. Since I never heard anyone mentioning this store on the thread so far, maybe the store is still 'uncontaminated'. ;)
Could someone explain this to me? It's possible to trade in ANY two used games to get a NEW game at a Gamerush for $29.99? Do all Blockbusters have Gamerushes?
Nice, another fellow El Monte'er. :) Go to the Blockbuster in Arcadia, on Live Oak next to Albertson. The regular Blockbuster down on Ramona and Peak has nothing to offer you.

Gamerush should get the Conker making of DVD, but not until a couple of weeks before its release. I'm pretty certain they will get the DVD though, because they had the Fable DVDs which was also a Microsoft published game.

hey guys dropped by EB got some cheapies plus echo night beyond and traded them.
I spent 48 at EB and got midnight club 3 dub plus still hav $20 or so in credit.
Echo Night is still $25

Anyone know any GR's in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area that a can double dip at? I live in Mansfield to be exact, but would drive around to get in on this deal.

Thanks.

I have been able to double dip deals at the Hillcrest location in Dallas before. I haven't traded anything in awhile so I don't really know if they are doing this now. I plan on going this week though.

Whats the trade - in - value for GTA:SA ,ninja gaiden, and megaman collection for ps2? If there is a master list, i'd like to know where to find it!

How are others getting 2 offers "Trade 2 get new game for 29.99" and "$5 extra for each game" at the same time?

GR specifically says two offers can not be combined together and
wondering how some people were able to..

let us know.

At some stores, they will ASK you if you want to do the buy new/preorder for $29.99 after you've done your trades. I just do my trades and say, I'd also like to preorder such and such, and they do it (with the code to deduct $20).

If i traded in GTA:SA (PS2), Ninja Gaiden (XBOX), Mega Man Collection (PS2), and Sonic Mega Collection (PS2), how much credit would that be all together (+20 dollars for being 4 games)

san andreas should get 20-25 before the extra 5

ninja gaiden will probably get around 15 before the extra 5

no idea on mega man

Wanted to get Doom 3 CE with little to no money out of pocket hehe :)

Just called my local Gamerush to see if Psychonauts came in and wound up with some noob Blockbuster employee that didn't know jack from you know what. BB needs to take a couple of cues from Game Crazy and keep staff separate for each section and also call on prebooks ala EB or GS. Trying to see if your game will be in stock is like a game in itself :))

Thanks for the all the explaining.

Eh.

Can someone briefly explain "double dipping?"

I've seen it mentioned a few times throughout the thread.

Double dipping means getting the $5 extra trade in for 3 games AND the trade 2 games and get a new game for $30 at the same time to sweeten the deal. Normally these 2 deals are separate and not combinable. But some GRs disregard it and allow both deals to be done at the same time.

So to make it simple to understand, lets say you trade in 3 games to GR:

Regular way without $5 extra and buy a new game for $30:
Game A - $5
Game B - $7
Game C - $10
------------------------
You get - $22 credit
New game = $30 + tax
You pay out of your pocket - $8 + tax

Double dipping:
Game A - $5 + $5
Game B - $7 + $5
Game C - $10 + $5
-------------------------
You get - $37 credit
New game = $30 + tax
You pay out of your pocket - $0
Store credit at GR - priceless.

;)

OK, drove out to a different BB in yet another town and opened a trade account there. I got the following (this is Tues evening, so any price drops should be reflected - there might be one). WITH extra $5 as usual:

GBA - Medal of Honor Infiltrator: $7
GBA - Wolverine's Revenge: $7
GBOY - Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets: $7 (I went to CC later and found yet another of these that no one else seemed to want - it was the only $1.99 title I could find left)
PS2 - Digimon Rumble Arena 2: $16 (possible drop - see below)
Xbox - Room Zoom: $8
Xbox - Powerdrome Racing: $16 (amazingly, no drop there)
Xbox - Constantine: $23 (ditto)
PS2 - NBA Live 2004: $10

The one that *might* have dropped is Digimon Rumble Area. However, I'm not sure since I traded in the Xbox version (I got one of each at Fry's) a few days ago and got $19. So either there is simply a difference in price between the two versions (like Powerdrome), or they both dropped $3 on Tuesday. It would be nice to get some independent confirmation one way or the other. I'll probably go by Fry's and pick up just a few more Digmon's, but only if I can get $19 for the Xbox version.

Anyway, I got $94 credit for a total of $39.37 spent on the new games I traded in. Not bad at all... Now if I can just find a use for all this credit!
By the way, I love the Xbox even though I have never played one and have no interest to do so - it seems most of the great buy new/trade in for profit titles are Xbox games. Wonder why?
