Current Trade-In Deals

Trade in 2 games, preorder any game for 29.99!! (July 19th - ??)

Restrictions and rules below:

- Trade any 2 games, get any preorder for $29.99. I forgot to check if XBox 360 games are included in the deal, but as most people have already stated, I highly doubt it.

- The two games that are traded in for the deal must retail for at least $7.99 each (preowned price).

- The credit can still be applied towards the $29.99.

Rent unlimited games for a month. You can have one game (or 2 depending on the pass) out at a time and can return it whenever you want and switch it out as many times as you want.

$21.99 for 1 Game

http://www.gamerush.com/rules_gamepass.php click this link to find out about gamepass at Gamerush.

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

GAMERUSH WEBSITE

This should have alot of stuff so please just search around the website before asking questions. Website updates happen but most deals are in effect way before they are updated on gamerush.com so check in the thread for the newest deals.

Gotta love my Gamerush.

They STILL havent gotten my Spartan Total Warrior for the GC. After the reviews Ive been reading, it seems like a game I can find used pretty quickly. Especailly the PS2

So I called today and they told me since it hasnt come in I can get another game. I asked for Battalion Wars and they gave that to me instead. Its also thier second highest game with a $35 trade in.

Aweeeeesssooomme!!
I just bought Castlevania and already unwrapped it...damn. I'll give it a shot.
So far im enjoying it! Glad I didn't listen to you guys!
The pre-order PROMO is still on the GAmeRush website:
http://www.gamerush.com/promos/promo_preorder.php
So it is... but is this linked anywhere from their main page? I can't find it there - they certainly aren't pushing this deal as much as the 25% off used games. Just makes me wonder if it is going away soon...

well I'm super stoked. I got them to switch my preorder of Kingdom Hearts 2 and FFXII to kameo and perfect dark zero. Now I just gotta find two more games to trade in to preorder FXII again.
Yeah, too bad Battalion Wars sucks. :/
Eh, I enjoyed the rental, I'll be picking that up when it gets a wee bit cheaper, or if the trade 2 get new for $29.99 deal comes into existence.
Guitar Hero is YMMV then because my gamerush got it in...
Hmmm I guess I'll have to call up another store then.
Whoever said Castlvania sucks is crazy.
Yeah, it rocks! So far im about 15% done. Can't wait to play it a bit more tomorrow.

Well just to add in my recent trade values, I don't have the receipt anymore but on Tues. I traded in 2 D2R2's along with Tekken 5 and got $25 each for the D2R's and around $30 for Tekken. Of course this includes the 25% bonus for trading in 3 at a time which is so very Hit and Miss. Going by the posts here, it seems to be happening more here in California.
my gamerush said guitar hero wasn't in their sytem at all.
I checked 2 GR's and they did not have it listed either. EB, Gamestop, and Newegg are the only places I have seen it listed....

Does anyone know if GR is going to get the Mario Party 7 Gamecube Bundle in?

I'm almost positive when my GR manager was looking through the old map for the Mario Kart DS bundle, he said all that was in there were the Pokemon and Mario Party GC bundles.

does everyone cross reference release prices with EBs website prior to preordering games?

I made the mistake of thinking RE4 and Shadow of the Colossus was going to be 49.99 release games only to find out they were 39.99 price point, after picking up the game. (only 10 off instead of 20). Since they sold all copies of SotC including my preorder, I exchanged it for Radiata Stories (had to pay 10 oop) come to find out Radiata trades in at a whopping 18 at the time (was expecting at least 28 since it was still selling for 49.99).

is need for speed most wanted black edition in the GR system, and has anyone had luck getting it for 29.99 using the deal?

Anyone know what kind of trade in value the current $10 3-pack of PS2 racing games(Ford Racing 3, Motocross Mania 3, Power Drome) from WalMart is getting at GameRush? Is it worth the effort?

Really want to pre-order Gauntlet Seven Sorrows for Xbox after reading some updated previews on it. But don't have much cash!

Only one of those games work for the preorder deal (Power Drome) which trades in for $6... the other two titles trade in for around $1.50 and sell for less than $7 making them invalid.

yup that was me, only powedrome works with the preorder. Your best just going to TRU and buying two copies of tron for 10 bucks a peice and trade them in for 13. Or if I could find out how much Total Overdose is getting at gamerush Target sells that for 20 bucks now.
anyone know how much trade in total overdose is getting?
Total Overdose trades for $19.

Nope, you had to click on a few things to get there....kinda hidden.

Anyways, a few trade values: Picked up the $15 PSP games at Target today (Dynasty Warriors, Rengoku & Darkstalkers)

Traded in TWO of them:
Dynasty Warriors = $27
Rengoku = $19

Pre-Ordered Marc Ecko:Limited Edition (I'll switch this for a 360 game for sure)

I use ebgames.com to cross reference both prices and release dates :D.

Shady is correct, I tried this trade in earlier in the week and those were the trade values. However, I was able to use them to preorder a game so if you have another game to trade you can preorder two games. Trading in for a preorder might be ymmv, but it worked at mine. In my reasoning you can add $10 worth of value for each game yuo use twoard a preorder, since you receive $20 off a new game with a preorder.

Thanks,

vgc

From what I know, the computer doesn't stop the preorder deal from going through if you trade in cheap games, it's up to the employee to realize that it doesn't qualify. I could be wrong, but I believe many people have been able to do so.

That is correct so it depends on which employee you get or if that particular location is desperate for preorders

also, i cant remember who asked but we got a memo the other day telling us the expected dates of some of our retail games and rentals and Gcube-Spartan total Warrior was listed for 11/16, i don't know if you can hold out that long but i hope this info helps.

if the system doesnt stop you from getting the preorder for 29.99 (if the employee doesnt catch it) you could probably mix in some games to get your 1 preorder for 2 trades. cough *old sports games as filler* cough. gonna try this weekend.

Anyone know the trade in values for the following abox games. I know Dinotopia gets $19 at wherehouse...

Used to be tons around me, but I just checked and now there are only 2. Additonally FYE and Wherehouse is owned by the same company so the trade prices are the same normally.

A Guitar Hero saga update:

I called two other gamerush stores (plymouth and novi) and neither of them had it, or even had it in their system.

My friend caved and dropped the full 70 dollars cash on it at best buy. We were playing it and damn was it good, considering dropping the 70 on it myself.

If you have a gamerush near you that has this game, and you have 70 dollars in D2R2 credit or any sort of credit go buy it as soon as possible.

I agree, it's a wicked awesome game. I ended up dropping 70 for it at best buy.
How is the PSP version?

I may rent it.....is it 2.0 required?

Oh well, I have to return a game this week....guess I'll see what they have in and try to do some switching!
OK, I can (partly) answer this as I have now played the PSP version of Star Wars Battlefront II. I don't know what version it requires. Mine was 1.5 and I updated it to 2.5 when I first turned it on after 4-5 months. Obviously I'm not a big home-brewer type, seeing as how I haven't used the damn thing in so long. It was cool to put one of my photos as the wallpaper and the browser is a BIG improvement over the Wipeout one I had tried before.

Basically, the IGN review is pretty good one. As expected, the controls and the graphics aren't as good. However, neither of those really bother me. The controls were easier to use than I thought (I'm sticking with the "standard" controls where you use the analog nub to move and the face buttons to aim). The only hard part is you need to push the D-pad to change weapons. Since I like playing as the missile-launching character this makes it kind of hard to lay mines, throw grenades, and switch rapidly between the missile launcher and blaster, since you need to cycle through all 4 with the same button.

While the game is pretty much the same, it does seem some maps are missing, which is a little disappointing. I don't see Jabba's Palace or Mos Eisley in there, but maybe they are unlockable. There's also no campaign like in the console version. There are 3 PSP-only "challenges" (which are like mini-campaigns), though, but I haven't played through them yet. I suppose it is good, in a sense, that the exact same campaign from the console version is not in there.

The major disappointment is with the lack of Internet multiplayer. I was hoping to be able to play this in hotels while travelling. The single-player will keep me entertained a bit, but not as much as multi would have. What is it with the PSP and lack of TRUE multiplayer support? I thought that was supposed to be one of it's big draws. Anyway, I've been playing through a Galactic Conquest game and that is pretty fun. I haven't played that on the console version but I'm sure it is very similar (and much improved from Battlefront I).

Basically, I'm very glad I got this as a GR preorder, but I wouldn't spend $50 on it (or even $30 cash - GR credit is a different matter :D). If you like SW Battlefront it is worth getting. The maps it does have seem to be identical to the console versions so, at the very least, it will give you practice with those maps for those multiplayer console sessions. And of course it is portable... So if they really DO bring back the trade 2 get a new game for $30 I would go for it.

Oh yeah, now I'm off to play SW Battlefront online (my name there is "Io_" by the way, in case any of you play the PS2 version).

LOL, I know what you mean about GR credit. Since you end up acquiring it for usually around $.50 on the dollar or playing a game for a month and then getting back what you paid for it you don't mind taking taking chances on games that you wouldn't normally buy with cash. Even if you don't like it just take it back and get most of what you paid for it back and continue the cycle of GR life. :D
Used to be tons around me, but I just checked and now there are only 2. Additonally FYE and Wherehouse is owned by the same company so the trade prices are the same normally.
actually i meant getting them to take it, there is a wherehouse near me, i got pretty excited after i looked at the online site trade-in prices, but they accepted only 4 of the 14 games that i brought in, they didn't take any of the games that aren't really big name games (i think they took doa:u, gt4, mp2 and ac5 and this was 2 months ago)

hope you don't bump into the $10k limit ;-)

Hi, i have seen some discussion of people checking trade in values online? I can't find any such spot on the www.gamerush.com site. Does someone know where this is located?

Also, anyone know the value of LA Rush for the Xbox?

Thanks,

vgc

Their website only has new releases, and high trade in value games listed on their website.

got in on some nice deals tonight.

PS2 - Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks (27), Resident Evil 4 (28), Spartan (30)
XBX - old NFL game sitting around (0.75)

ask your local GR to do the 25% bonus for trading 3+ games, cause i got an extra $20 with that. was able to preorder 2 games for 29.99 because of the computer programing.

PS2 - Need For Speed Most Wanted Black (59.99 list), Dragon Warrior 8 (49.99)

both for only 29.99 ea. not too shabby.

When trading it is always a good idea to have them check each promo so as not to miss out on some nice bonuses.
hope you don't bump into the $10k limit ;-)
LOL I wish! I've got about $165 credit and 1 360 game paid off right now.

Is there such a thing as a 10k total trading cap or am I just tired and gullible? io or someone will hit it first!

Sheesh guys - lay off. I really haven't done that much trading recently. Fortunately, I guess, my GR doesn't do the 25% bonus credit, or I might get closer to that limit :D. Even though I have over a dozen games preordered and a few hundred in credit I'm nowhere near $10K. Once November rolls by I really won't have that many preorders left. I am saving my credit for the PS3 though, so hopefully GR will still be around then and will have a similar preorder setup like with the Xbox360.

The 10K level was what Dr Frielgood said they were banning people for in his district. It certainly isn't an advertized cap or anything, and I don't think it is applied system-wide anyway, but who knows. There can't be that many people who have obtained more than 10K in credit, can there?

Trade values for these?
Star Wars Battlefront 2 (XBOX)
NBA Live 06 (PSP)

I know most of my credit will be gone come November 22nd...but that is fine with me. I may try to build some back up for a PS3, but I haven't decided if I want one yet.

Also, no 25% bonus at my store....no big deal though.

If you haven't reached it then nope there can't be that many people......... ;)

Just playin I used to trade hard at 3 stores. I did so much at my nearest GR that when they got a new GR manager the first time I went in and did a trade he was like YOUR THE GUY!!! Kinda scared me for a minute, lol, but he laughed and said I was the top trader for that store and seen my name at the top of all his preorder reports and was happy for my business. He knows me by my first name ever since, and always pesters me for trade-ins since I don't trade to much anymore.

IF ANYONE IS GOING TO TRADE IN A DS SYSTEM TORWARDS 360 STUFF @ GR MESSAGE ME, I'LL GIVE CASH! assuming you are a trustworthy member of this site....;)

thnx and sorry for this
