WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

When a store closed near me, I got a couple of those. Each one worked on up to 5 items. I also received around 3 different coupons on my account. One was a 20% off, 2nd was like 10% off and i don't remember the third
 
Anyone know when GS extended holiday return period start? I want to pickup an old wii console for a niece but want to atlease ensure it'll function for atlease 3 months.  

 
Sorry about the wait. Employess get early access today, 9/30. Promotion officially starts 10/2. If it's like the last 2 "Most Wanted Titles" trade promo, then these should be the base values (before PUR Pro 10% boost). I can't remember the end date, but I think it's good until 10/4.

Fire emblem awakening had a tiv of $35 before the coupon. So I'm going to have to disagree with you there. These tiv boost promos can be pretty good. It would be amazing with another coupon though :)
However GameStop needs to hold off on having a really good promo until I'm unbanned lol
 
Thanks for the list. Not bad values on some new games like Metal Gear and Mad Max. Nothing really for me though and nothing I can see that can be flipped ;/

 
Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for PS3 is a nice boomerang title as it's part of the 4 for $20 deal, and will trade back in at 12.50 base according to the list

Is Terraria supposed to be on the list for ps3? that's just a download card in a paper collector's box or a download card in the plastic bluray box...how r u supposed to trade that in? not sure if I would ever play mine, so would wanna get rid of it but o_O think it's a typo coz ps4 came on a disc iirc

It's even tagged in the trade in promo sheet as "4$20" c'mon gamestop

If you can find a copy of Fifa 15 Vita at BB it's 4.99, also Fifa 15 PS3/360 are credit movers from BB to GS, no profit there though.

It's been awhile and I don't remember the answer to this so I am going to ask again.  Will gamestop's POS allow the purchase of a gift card (i.e. gamestop, xbox, psn, etc..) with the $ off reward certificates?  I was looking at buying a game with the $ off certificate and then returning it for store credit but I was told that will not work and they won't give you credit for the return.

Picked up Animal Crossing New Leaf :3ds: and FIFA 15 :360: from Best Buy to move some credit Friday. Also Mario Kart 7 :3ds: but not sure if I am going to trade it in (I think you lose a little trading it in? Not sure. Edit - never mind, you don't gain much but it is also a good credit mover if you had GCU with BB). Thanks invizibleskratchpikl for posting those.

Has anything like this happend before? haha.

I just bought some games from gamefly and I will trade all in between 8 copies of Sonic... xD

I can't wait anymore I need to go next gen.. :whistle2:$

Some GS will only let you trade 1 Copy in. Also they could suspended you trade-in rights if you trade in 5 or more copies within 30 days.

No what happens is this, upon trading in the 5th copy of a game on the same platform (sonic ultimate collection PS3 in this case) your PUR is banned by their system. The employee has no control over this. However it is possibly to make a new PUR account (I'd do this using points or something if possible and at another GS) you can create it with the same license but use a fake phone number (they only use it to text you when your reserves will be ready) then online you can change the name.

Usually a first ban is either a month or 3 months. No way to tell other than to "test" the account with a trade lol
 
Looks like all of the stores in my area that shows Sonic in stock yesterday have been cleaned out. Oh, well. I'll just stick to the couple regular trades I was planning and check the used PS3 shelf just in case.

 
Ugh. I just checked to see when my PUR B2G1 coupon expires and it expired on 9/30. The date next to the offer on the website is 10/13/2015 so I assumed that was the expiration date. Is there any chance they will still honor the coupon?

No, last year, I misread the date and when the day after it ended; they laughed so hard...well, not at my face but I am pretty sure they never met a sucker like me before...

Too bad, but I was just planning on burning it on a $5 game so it's not a huge deal. Lesson learned.

Anyone have any decent trades lined up?

I've got the following going back in:

  • 3 Xbox 360 Slim AC Adapters - OEM units, of course
  • 2 Play and Charge Cables
  • Xbox 360 VGA Cable
  • 2 Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection (PS3)
  • A few random PS4 games that I've beaten recently.

Finished Mad Max (PS4) last night. Personally, it's my sleeper hit of the generation. Maybe that'll go back, too.
