Spring break is on...and I've barely put 2 more hours into FFXIII (but I put like 8 in during last week.) Stupid research papers being due the day I get back.
What chapter you on Possum?
6, I think? just beat the plant boss at the end of Hope and Lightning's section.
That's where I was last night, I'm half way through six atm. That boss is cake once you stagger him, and Lightning juggles his ass. The graphics in six are freaking amazing. Graphics plus the music is just so epic in this part of the game. Who do you like the most atm Possum? For myself Lightning and Snow.

Oh wow, I thought you were farther. I'm about 20 hours in. Finally get to choose my own party.

Im about 34 hours into it, and just been grinding and doing missions.

Need to take a break from the epic poopsocking.

That is Chapter 11 right? (When you're able to select your own party) I would be a lot further, if I didn't stop and grind back in chpt 5. I spent like 4 hrs just running back and forth getting tons of CP, when it seems like I really didn't need too. Ugh, I hate being anal in RPGS. :whistle2:# I'm going to play some more in a bit and try to get around chpt 8 or so. So far though Rei, loving it still?

If you're talking story-wise, it's Sazh, since he's the only one who seems relatively realistic. The writing is just so anime...I can't really get into the characters. They're all so sensitive and pretentious. It's like they take forever to figure stuff out and reveal things to each other just to make the game longer.

Example: Instead of just saying "that asshole dropped my mom off a cliff!" like most normal people would, Hope takes about 10 scenes (presumably over the course of a few days) to tell Lightning and everyone else that. And that's after a lot of prodding and poking. On top of that, it's completely unreasonable-- Hope clearly saw Snow trying to save his mom's life. It's not easy to pull someone up when you're hanging by one hand yourself. But he's all "he killed my mom! I'm gonna get revenge!" You'd have to be a brain-damaged aspergers-tard to not understand the situation or that it's not Snow's fault

Picking apart FF is useless, I know, but this game is extra stupid in the narrative department.

as for who I like to play as in battle, I like Lightning, since she's a ninja.

lol no PMs for the Blur beta code. Does not bode well for that game.

Here they are if you care.

Valued Blur Community Members,

Simply give one of the following tokens to your friends and have them go to Blurthegame.com/beta to sign up and they’ll instantly get a Blur Beta Xbox Live marketplace token and a 48 hour free trial of Xbox Live Gold to join you in the action.

The game is actually really fun, but would be more suited to a downloadable game than a full $60 release, imo. Maybe make it a little less realistic styled and cut back of the development time. You're already making a non-futuristic WipeoutHD, make it like wipeout HD and release it for $20 on PSN/XBLA and you've got a real nice impulse buy.
What's the big deal about Metro 2033... I had 0 idea what it was until I saw the commercial for it last night... and I can't say it generated any interest.

I'm not sure why anyone is hyped for the game. Dallow, I'm looking at you.
I'm not hyped, was just mildy curious about it.
I hear it's pretty short, I can wait.

Just trying to decide between 360 and PC for the future.

I remember you randomly coming in asking about it -- I suppose if I saw you asking about it in here, I equated that with hyped and also that you were implying it should be good. Sorry. :p

I think it'll do some interesting things gameplay wise that make it different from standard FPS games. The Russians usually do.
It's nice that it's only 49.99 at GS and Amazon though.

Too many things on my plate though.

Chapter 10, and yup I still like it.

Almost done with Darksiders, and I've been making progress in Kingdom Hearts 356/2 Days. Hope to have Kingdom Hearts beat soon.

I decided to cancel my Fragile preorder due to being unsure on the game. It looks cool, but I hear many mixed stuff about it. If it was a more traditional RPG, I'd buy regardless (since I like them too much). But the main character does seem appealing to my liking.

Chapter 9 you can make your own party.

I'm half way through Chapter 11.

Damn, what a kick in the ass. Every random fight from here on out is about as intense as the boss fights from the previous chapters.

Loving it.

I'm just past 27 hours played now.

I'm there too, I found a couple fights that weren't instant death. They aren't very profitable, though.

I think it was really nice of Square-Enix to let one of their retarded employees design the Eidolon battles. Throw a couple of random party members together, give them a terrible paradigm setup, and then make them win a timed battle. Brilliant.

Edit: I think someone needs to tell CAG about daylight savings time.
Thanks for the code Jer! Wanted to see how it was like.
Let me know what you think. I think the steering is like pushing a block of concrete through mud. It feels like such a struggle to get around corners.

I really like the weapons though. Especially using the purple bolts on people as they're turning, I like how it makes their back end slide out and fucks them up.

I GOT THE FORGOTTEN WARRIOR!

It cost me 10 bucks even, but I couldn't find it cheaper than that. My friend that's a manager at a closing GameCrazy wanted to charge $15, which I thought was insane.

I have them all now! WOOOOOOO!!!!

Found something out about Yakuza 3.
Sounds like Sega did a rush hack job.

Sega wasn't going to release this. They found out that if they didn't release it in this quarter Sega of Japan would license it to Atlus in a deal with Yakuza Kenzan and first dibs rights to all future Yakuza games. They freaked out and realized that they'd lose the rights to Sega's biggest Japanese franchise that their Japanese side will be pouring money into regardless of Western sales, so they're cobbling it together just to hold onto the license for the future.

Not sure how valid that is but it makes me hate sega even more.

That makes a lot of sense, so I'd say it's true. Makes me hate Sega, too. I hope it doesn't sell.

That's just a random theory by a random Internet poster though.

Screw it. Ordered Metro 2033. Need something to play. Dumb ps3 grumble grumble.

I really don't think we're going to be getting Yakuza 4 anyways, Tom... Unless we get it as a budget title somewhere wayyyy down the road.

Speaking Yakuza 3, I just read the 1up review for it... And I have to say it's one of the worst reviews I have read in a while.

Nah, we'll get like 2 years later. But don't worry it'll be just like the Japanese version with a little less content(Around %50 less).

I just read that 1up review...... Dear god its like something I would have wrote in Middle School.

How the fuck did he get paid for that trash.

Ha, is there still volleyball in the game?

EDIT: oh, haha, volleyball is now a mini-game.

Actual game is now Afrika/Pokemon Snap.

Featuring the sexy female characters from the DEAD OR ALIVE series, your two-week Vacation Mode starts at the getaway resort, New Zack Island. Select a favorite from nine playable characters and you are free to mingle, flirt, play, take snapshots and challenge them in mini-games found throughout the island. Store the snaps in your one-of-a-kind private album along with teasing 'venus clips' for viewing and editing or share an intimate experience with your girls by buying gifts and having them model your favorite bathing suits. You are in full control to create your own private paradise, in the palm of your hand. It's all on-the-go. Take your girls anywhere, and play with them anytime.

Remember when there was fighting to go along with Dead or Alive's jiggling and kicking high?

At this rate, the next game will just be an endlessly looping clip of Kasumi and Ayane jumping - both hands free for other activities.

Are you still waiting for the PS3 you ordered from Dell ?

Forgot about Perfect Dark on XBLA this week, I'll pick it up but I'm not sure how much I'll play it in the face of my growing BF:BC2 addiction :)

Bah, the Power is still out at my local Gamestop. So I couldn't pick up my copy og Pokemon. At this rate I won't be able to get GoW III in the tomorrow. Damn mother nature...

And I'd be completely fine with that. I never play a DOA game for the fighting anyway.

Ben: I forgot all about PD coming out this week. I'll wait to see how the online is for the game before I get it. Also this week is going to be crazy for gaming... And I still have FFXIII to play.
Are you still waiting for the PS3 you ordered from Dell ?
Yup, some people had theirs shipped a few days ago, mine still has the original estimated delivery date of 3/26.....
hmmm....can you still preorder the GOW3 UE at gamestop? seems like it's selling out everywhere.
I have no idea, I'm thinking about asking them when I go to the midnight release if I can upgrade to the UE, though. I'm afraid I won't get another chance to get it if I miss it now.
hmmm....can you still preorder the GOW3 UE at gamestop? seems like it's selling out everywhere.
Still preorder? I don't know. But according to GAF the initial shortage problems have been addressed and those already preordered should receive theirs.

Watching the unboxing video, there's not really anything worth the extra $40.

I'm in the same boat. Added you on XBL, as I am addicted to BF:BC2 as well.

I'm somewhat interested in how PD will turn out, as I kind of missed the boat on it, after being burned out on Goldeneye.
I'm going to keep my old DS for the GBA slot. But I will probably grab a DSi XL some time soon.
Have my gameboy micro which works really well for gba games. Best portable ever.
