Linear and FFXIII? Psh you talking crazy Possum. ;)
really seems to be the key word for this game

and lol @ putting in disc 2 only 8 hours into a 40 hour game. wasn't expecting that. Fun stuff though...love them battles.
It's not lame as shit, like the license board is it?

HEY EVERYBODY -- YOU CAN ALL DO THE SAME SHIT! IT'S AWESOME! :whee:
Haven't played enough, but it's looking like everyone will eventually have the same shit....once again, a new FF game making FF6 look all the more brilliant.

word of advice...never spill water on a unibody macbook. that shit was expensive to fix because they replace the entire top part of the body. :bomb:

Real smooth GameSpot (Re: GDC awards stream). First, don't let us see that the "Blue Screen" behind Gabe Newell was actually a GlaDOS message. Then, cut off the feed just as Warren Spector was about to reveal the Deus Ex: Human Revolution teaser.

Reminds me of wayyyy back when G4's live E3 coverage cut to commercial during the first real Halo 3 trailer and then came back to a bunch of hosts who pretty much had "Goddamit, I hate our network" looks on their faces.
You can't use your HDD in another PS3? I forget. :p
Nope, do that and it will ask you to format right away. :(

Nobody cares about Gabe Newell.

I wish I could hurry through the last part of FF12... my god, I think I'm going to have to level grind... the disparity in my party levels are crazy.

Vaan, Fran, Balthasar are all in the 40s. Ashe, Basch are like 25. Penelo is like 27.

Haha that was amazing. And you could hear Adam saying, "No... don't! You can't now!!... * commercial*". They had pretty bad GDC coverage also, I was excited to see Sonys Conference on G4, but they showed the first minute and then cut back to Kevin and Olivia...

G4 now is pretty much garbage.

On the subject, my favorite live-anything broadcast in recent gaming memory was G4's coverage of whatever E3 had the 360 reveal and the "Is this Killzone 2 footage in-game or not? PS It's not" debate raging. 90 percent of it was just a bunch of their hosts sitting up on a little "stage"-type thing in the midst of E3, honestly discussing the stuff that was being shown and genuinely arguing and having fun with each other.

This was back when G4 had anything to do with gaming, though.

Well their E3 coverage is generally good. They show the conferences without commercials and then they have all the games demoed on their show. Everything else is dull. Gametrailers TV is pretty good (nice in HD), but they promise a lot and rarely deliver.

fuck locked saves, this should of never been an option for devs or at least implemented better.

Well just spent about two hrs grinding in FFXIII, totally worth it for how beefed up I got my crew.

How do you grind? Do you just hang out and wait for enemies to respawn?
How do you grind? Do you just hang out and wait for enemies to respawn?
It depends on the area you are in. For example; where I'm currently at, you have to take an elevator at the end of the path up, and then another elevator down at the other end. So what I do is once I reach the first elevator I go up it, and then fight/work my way to the second elevator and go down. Then I save. Once I do that, I turn back around and go up the elevator I just came down, and work my way to the start of the level since all the enemies I just defeated re-spawned. Then I repeat this over and over.

If you just stay in the same area, the enemies sometimes don't re-spawn so you need to leave the area/get a certain distance away before they re-spawn again. I did this for a good two hours or so, due to feeling so underpowered with my current crew. It's definitely not fun (When is grinding?) but I'd rather do it earlier in the game then have to do it a bunch towards the end. You might not need too at all, but I like to to have a powerful crew/ample CP to spend.

Yeah, I was weary of that too, but it takes much longer to get to the 3rd disc in comparison.

I think enemies respawned after I loaded a save. Does this actually work?
Solid state drives are fucking awesome.

iTunes used to take 52 seconds to load and become responsive.
Now it's 16.
But their soooo expensive. I'm a 1tb minimum man from now on. I need my spaaaaaaace.
I think enemies respawned after I loaded a save. Does this actually work?
I should hope so, if Nero has been doing it for 2 hours and making progress. :p Though he seems to believe it's more a function of "screens distance" instead of hitting a save point.

Sam and Max Season 3 :whee:
wtf, conan o'brian tour show is already sold out!?

Thankfully I managed to get tickets. Ticketmaster was being a pain in the ass last night...

I can find better pics of her on the internets... with a penis even. All joking aside I really want the game to be good.

I still haven't played much FFXIII. It just starts off a little too slow. And now I have a pile of DVDs to watch as well(Buffy, NGE and Gundam Unicorn).

okay, next question-- why would you need to grind in FFXIII?

I actually need to. I'm dying all the time.

Thanks a lot for the info, Nero! I'll put it to good use. :D

Yeah but now you probably have to listen to Olivia Munn or some MTV reject try to pretend they know what a Final Fantasy is.
It's been a while since I played it but I think the last area took an hour or so
Any recollection of what level you were at? Anything I should be wary of? I've got a FAQ I've been consulting to expedite things -- I'm a bit worried about some of these "dispel" magic barrier fights it mentions are coming up.

And when I say I beat Cid, it was the first fight against him at Draklor Labs.

I'm not watching Olivia Munn for her opinions.

Apprently I had $25 worth of game credit at Amazon. I guess I'll use that on the Limited Edition for Alan Wake.

Yeah, this test SSD is only 80GB. :cold:
I'm buying a 160GB for my upcoming laptop.

Just gonna store all my media on external drives and backup to the cloud storage I pay $5 a month for.

And I'm not watching Olivia Munn because her unbearable annoying nature outweighs her tits.
Then you're doing it wrong.
I know I am. I'm not so great with the non-turned based battle system. I still enjoy playing it, though.

It's worked up to where I'm currently at, do what I suggested and report back if you're wary. Lol, no way I'd type all that out just to BS you guys.

Yeah, I first noticed it in Chpt 3 when I forgot to grab an orb thing for an item. So I just thought I'd head back and grab it real quick. Once I started heading back I noticed enemies back and was all wth!? As I knew I killed everything on my way through the first time. I got curious and wondered if all the enemies re-spawned again and ventured all the way to the start of the level killing all the enemies again. I reached the start of the level, turned back around and low and be-hold there they all were again! Lol I thought alright I can grind! XD I currently have 4,000 CP and my crystal is maxed. Just waiting for it to level again so I can spend more of my CP.
okay, next question-- why would you need to grind in FFXIII?
I'm kinda anal when it comes to RPGS, I like everyone to be near the same level, and have the best equipment. Like I said you don't really need to, it's a matter of personal preference really Possum. ;)

I hate you so much. I hope someone cuts your ePenis off and throws it out the window of a moving vehicle, MarkWayneBobbit. :p

The last time I was this fucking psyched/antsy/crazy for a game's release, that game was MGS4. And my PS3 died after installing the game. :(

I can wait on GoW3 even though everything about it is impressive. My excuse is that my BD drive is still dead but from the looks of it I'll be sending my PS3 in next week finally.

My head is going to explode. I'm trying to figure out how I'm getting to PAX and what panels I'd like to check out.

Man, really wish I had ordered a different config on the laptop.... now I want the WWAN card...
Hmmm...
