I know this flys in the face of the matrix, but some games I have are lacking a manual but still have the case and under the current classification, that would take it down to disc only....
I wouldn't mind getting a manual-less game if it just had the case...

I was going to ask about this as well. What if we are only missing the manual?

Two of my games listed are that way so I had to choose disc only for their condition.

I actually brought this issue up earlier in this thread, if you want to go back and look. They said that they wanted to keep the matrix as simple as possible. That is a good idea, but I still kind of wonder about the choice they made for the 3 conditions. Wouldn't "Complete" "Disc and box" and "Disc only" be better choices for most people?

Personally I would prefer that there was no "disc only" category at all, because I don't believe that there are very many people who legitimately have disc-only games. What it really means is that a fair number of people are probably throwing away the boxes instead of sending them with the game, just to save on shipping costs. Still, at least the new system allows me to specify that I won't take games like that.

All of the games I've sent out have been disc only mainly because of shipping costs. I'm not looking to spend several dollars sending out the game...maybe I'm just a true CAG. I do save the boxes though, incase I ever run out of blank cases (I have 3) or if I ever decide to trade back the game through goozex and I only get the disc. That and the 8 games I've sent out so far using the goozex mailer have all arrived safely, no complaints so far.

Well, it's only a dollar more to send the game with the case and instructions.
Well, it's only a dollar more to send the game with the case and instructions.
I guess it's just personal preference then. Faster, easier, cheaper for me to just print out a goozex envelope, slap a stamp on it, and put it in the mailbox on my awy out to my car for work. And I'm assuming this is why Goozex introduced it this way, it lets us lazier people trade games too.

Which is fine, I guess. I just don't want to get games like that myself, so I'm glad they have a system in place that lets you specify at least that much. Of course, by not sending your games complete, you are missing out on trades with people like me.

icruise: Thanks for cathing the grammar mistakes.

We made the matrix match so that we could make happy both types of traders. Many months ago we asked students if they'd mind sending and receiving discs only and we got a great response. Since then, a lot of CAGers and others have demanded we offer full package...and so the matrix match was our compromise. I'd guess that its around a 50/50 split in the two types of traders.

how long does it take for matches to hook. I notice someone requested

FF4 for the gba im first in line yet it still has yet to match (unless they have no pts : (
Just signed up - and got a game requested from someone with the same addy as Goozex. Are you guys trading too?

Dave
Hi Dave,
Thanks for signing up! Yeah, all three of us at Goozex still play games. That said...I don't know where the other two get the time...maybe some heads will roll around here.

I just received my copy of Sword of the Berserk: Gut's Rage(DC) in the mail today. I was expecting disc only, but the trader was cool enough to send the manual and insert!
I popped it into an extra DC cd case and I've got a complete copy!! If anyone from CAG sent that then THANK YOU!!

Was it listed as disc only? I'm first in line for that game but requested it as complete.

yeah it was listed as disc only. I was totally surprised to find the insert and manual in there as well.

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to say how much Jon, Val and myself (the Goozex team) sincerely appreciate the love you have been showing us on the Sayswap thread. I know each of us have put in a lot of time and hard work to listen to what you have to say and then acting on it. Each of you who have taken a leap of faith to send out games on our site and hope you get the games you want in return. There have been some bumps and bruises (like "high-tech" envelopes), but there have been a lot of great trades and site upgrades.

So why haven't we done an affiliate program? We simply can't afford it. We can't pay "x" amount for each referral when that number goes into the hundreds let alone thousands. Man, we love CheapyD and we wish we could afford him! None of us get paid and we work around the clock for free b/c we truly believe there is a better way to get games. You'd laugh if you saw our Ad-words budget. This does not, however, mean we'll not be around. In fact, we're banking on our service growing even faster than it has already. Much of our growth has been word-of-mouth, and that does reflect a better service.

We've got a lot of friends and supporters out there, including CheapyD and everyone here. Our goal is to keep everyone here happy and repay our appreciation when we can.

Be on the lookout for a great promotion starting very soon. Hint: start collecting the emails of your friends...

as always....Happy Trading!

Mark

k thanks. wow another one got to run back to the post office since today is the only day to ship within 3 days (post office closed saturday and monday)

was sort of shocked that Ncaa football 2006 still grabbed 650 pts and was even more shocked someone requested it : )

woo up to almost 5300 pts now to start looking for stuff to buy

I was 9th in line for Kingdom Hearts 2 and was requesting Full Package, so I was surprised to sign on today and see I had a match. Guess I was the only one with the points.

If this comes in good shape, I will be very happy. I was having trouble fitting KH2 into my spending plan, so by getting it for unloading some unwanted dust collectors would be awesome.

"Thank you, Goozex!"

(I'm willing to say that on a commercial if you ever have one)

Yeah, when you first sign up for games it can be a little discouraging to see that you are way down on the list, but you have to remember that you have to have done a fair amount of trading to have more than a couple of open trade slots (and of course you need points as well) so it's not unusual to get a game that you are low on the list for.

What is even more shocking is that I managed to get Hack 1-4 in one day from one seller. Did I forgot to mention that I was placed 9-15 (ish or so) on all 4 games? Weird indeed considering the fact that I was matched but never confirmed for about 6 (or so) consecutive matches (Devil May Cry 1, Prince of Peria, New Super Mario, etc).

i see a few games requested

Crypt killer was requested friday (im first in line) never matched
Pokemon Was requested today (im first in line ) never matched

Now i can see probally these people dont have pts to get them but heres the KICKER

Polarium was requested from me on friday but i couldnt make it to the post office till at least tuesday so i didnt accept.

saturday it was taken down and said Im 2nd in line to trade it off

But it jumped right back to DO YOU ACCEPT.

i dont think i ever remember jumping ahead of people of sending games out

up to 5500 pts ..... I hope my pokemon game matches for 400 pts cause there is a game im looking at

Ugh. I just got an email today I didn't have enough credit for Darkstalkers 3 (PS1) and Power Stone 2. I should just put some credit in there just in case that happens again.

Hey guy's I put a couple of games on goozex:
RE4 - PS2
Starsky & Hutch - GC
Final Fantasy - PS2
:( All disk only
Ugh. I just got an email today I didn't have enough credit for Darkstalkers 3 (PS1) and Power Stone 2. I should just put some credit in there just in case that happens again.
I lucked out and was able to grab Darkstalkers 3, I was second in line I believe. I'm still hoping I eventually get matched for Power Stone 2 (I'm like 6th in line) considering it still shows as available.

I would add the credit. I've missed out a couple times because I didn't have enough points for a game, but luckily it matched me again the same day after I added some points(and these were games that had more than 1 person in line).

When did the points for Final Fantasy X change? I was charged 150 points, but it's now 100 points. I could've used those 50 points for a game I just missed

games move up on demand and supply

i had an alien game that was 250 but it fell to 200 then when i confirm to ship an hour later it jumps to 250

so i lost 50 pts as well

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend. Read the weekend posts and have two comments.

1. You can jump around on the queue system a few ways. One is if the person in front of you doesn't have enough points (and later credits) to get a game and you do. Second, if the person in front of you has a low feedback score and you don't -- then you can jump ahead if they are requesting a lot games and are tied up at the moment. Third, is how you select to receive/send a game. On average a person who chooses to receive disc only will get matched faster. Same is true for a sender who chooses to send full package.

I'd say the lack of points and how they choose to send/receive a game has the most to do with people moving around on the queue.

2. small point changes (basically 50 pts) are usually due to supply and demand. If demand goes up and supply remains constant, then points go up. If supply goes up and demand remains constant, then points go down. We have an internal limit as to the quantity of games that affect these small point differences. Another thing to take into consideration is that a game may of passed a date that makes it "x" months old from when it was released. Generally, older games start getting lowered points.

Well that's it. It's going to be another busy week and I hope to have a new promo soon that gets people talking.

I forgot I was supposed to send 2 games out (nothing big, call of duty and twisted metal 4) until I got an email about negative feedback. My computer has been on the fritz and thats why I haven't been able to get the addys. If I sent them out in the next day or two do I have any consequences?

Also can I send the games in a regular package? I'm kind of worried about printing out a package to send.

What did the email say?

You can use anything you want to send the games. The printed envelopes are just a convenience for people who are sending disc-only games.

Blackout:
This is an unsual case. One solution I can think of is to PM the users that you were supposed to have sent the games to and let them know you are shipping tomorrow. They will probably have to delete from their current requests the games you agreed to send. Plus don't post the games back up for trade b/c you might get matched with someone else. Send me a PM here on CAG if they don't agree to this.

As for mailing the games out, you can buy a couple of bubble mailers and spend $1.59 on shipping and send them the full package.
Is any CAG here send GT4 to Pop319?
Just request it, I have this game up for trade already

i hate when that happens. last year my pc power button broke and i didnt have a pc for 4 weeks, so i was using the pc on campus. Well i forgot i had a game listed on ebay and checked ebay and noticed someone paid for it 10 days ago. I emailed them saying my pc was broke and i didnt know you won my auction im sending the game out today. Those SOB said okay i understand but they then turned around and left neg. feedback saying they didnt have their game one day later

Dude, seriously, stop sending out games already until you request some. It's going to get to the point where you're the only one on the site that has any points, which will completely kill trades on the site. Whenever I get more than 2k points I start requesting random cheap 100 point games just to get the points back into circulation and keep the site active. Point hoarding is a sure way to kill a site like this.

I agree that it's better to both send games out and request them, but it's not as if there is a limited pool of points to go around, so I'm not sure what the problem with "point hoarding" really is. What would really kill the site would be if lots of people started requesting games without sending any out (for example, by purchasing points directly from Goozex). Then you would have a situation where lots of people have points but there is nothing for them to spend them on.

I notice that Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt is listed for 350 points. However, this is actually a demo game that was included with the Nintendo DS, so I question that it is worth even 100 points, much less 350. I could easily see someone confusing it with the full game. Is there any real reason to even have an entry for a "game" like this?

tell people to start listing ps2 Rpg games : )

i probally end up blowing around 3 to 5,000 pts as soon as someone puts up games i want

you know your a cheapass when you see a game on the site but hope it falls 100 pts so you can get it for 400 instead of 500 LOL

im really starting to think to pull alot of the games i have due to how many pts i have (so i dont get burned like over on another site) last 2 games that ship tomorrow i really had to think if i wanted to accept

Polarium had to ship cause it grabbed 250 and saw it fall to 200 : )
Haunting Ground wanted another 400 pts

Collectors.

Hell, I even got a real DS case for my demo.

Anybody want to buy mine? :)

I would put mine up, but (aside from the fact that it looks like there are at least 2 ahead of me) I wouldn't want anyone to request it thinking that it was the full game.

If you havent tried this site yet, here is my success from the past few weeks.

I traded:

Super Black Bass DS 300pts
Prince Of Persia DS 300pts
Dragon Ball Z DS 400pts
Mario Golf GC disc only 250pts
Guilty Gear DS 400pts
I already had 100pts for signing up saved

I received:
Resident Evil GC complete 100 pts
Shadow the Hedgehog GC complete 200pts
Star Wars Episode 3 DS complete 200pts
Ridge Racer DS complete 100pts
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue complete 550pts
Spiderman 2 DS complete 100pts
Pokemon Saphire GBA cart 200pts
Super Monkey Ball GBA cart 100pts

I'd say I did not make out too bad.
