Not really out of nowhere, they did a BMA every Valentines Day.  Just a little weird since they had the last BM a few days ago, but makes sense now since they did this instead of a "real" BMA today.

Seems like the yanni coin is the same as what we already have, so groupees selling more reduces the value of the ones we already have.

Im tempted but then again I dont see them putting out 10 bundles worth 2$/piece at this point. With greenlight shutting down their pool of cheap ass crap is going to start to dwindle down too

 
Uh.. I don't think Groupees will be around for another year, not for game bundles anyway. Just don't see it happening. This is like the gamepump of Groupees bundles, except they probably won't do mass refunds

 
I wonder if the reason it says Be Mine Anniversary 4 Core Bundle is because they're already planning on a high dollar addon that's not included in the $21 preorder.

Cyanic said something about that... from what I could guess, what you see now is the higher tier BMA4.

The "Core" bundle will be the games/music that is added later.

Groupees is always ready to push out and drop a BM on their customers.

Now that's some bullshit. Seems like JonnyC read our posts here about saving up our coins to buy a majority stake in Groupees, got scared, and printed more coins to bring down their value.

Yeah.. Only thing I'd use a Jonny coin on at this point would be a VN bundle.. and I have a feeling they'd restrict them so you can't use coins on them. The real value to this sub is the coin, but there'll be no value to it if we can't use them on the bundles we want.

How much are Jonny coins worth atm, anyway?

 
Yea I don't think you will be seeing any good uses for them going forward. I used my last Jonny on the Topcow comic bundle which seemed ok. They restricted it on the Dynamite bundle, on this BM Anniversary, and will probably restrict it on future VN bundles. Unless you want one of the overpriced "limited" game addons it seems they will be doing in the future anyway.

And you have to understand what they're doing is good for the United States. It’s also going to be good for Mexico.

Groupees is on the right track, but the winning move is to take subscriptions for them to stop making bundles. I'd chip in for that. Well, I'd at least use my coin.

 
No more Greenlight means Groupees bundle model is in jeopardy. So, they're trying to get a bunch of cash up front by selling year-long subscriptions. There probably won't be a shortage of games to bundle, but the prospect of getting a Steam +1 down the road is still a selling point for the Greenlight bundles and other non-BMs. Maybe devs will pay the Steam Direct fee then bundle immediately in the hope of recouping most/all of the cost from the bundle. Or, Yanni could level up and publish the bundled games in exchange for a nice chunk of their revenue on Steam.

Regardless, I'm sure the forthcoming BMs will be quite fresh and quality.

or just go back to their roots and stick with music bundles. After all, there is an seemingly abundance of music artists willing to get their moment of glory that iTunes and Google play and other sites rarely give them.

 
So if you didn't understand Cyanic's chart.. the new Be Mine will start out with a few games, and more games will be added later. The price will increase as new games are added. The increasing price over time strategy is gonna make it less likely for me to buy any Be Mines. I was relying on hints before, and if they ditch them I see no reason to pay attention to their Be Mines anymore. They just went from a shitty preorder system that was barely earning them sales to an even shittier system that will make some people abandon the site. It's similar to what Indie Royale did with their mystery bundles..

As far as the subscription service goes, they should have done it years ago when they started doing greenlight bundles. It would have been more effective then and greenlight wasn't absolute trash. Now, everyone knows Groupees is crashing so there won't be many people that fall for it.

 
Those do look like poop....and I generally am somewhat OK with RPGMaker poop...but this looks worse than that. It is very cheap though and cards...

A years worth... so yeah, probably two or three.

And I realized just how stupid it is, if they start out BMs at $1.5 with one game reveal.  Would be cheaper always buying as soon as you can... but at least I got another coin!!!

EDIT: I AM REDEEMED...

Cyanic said the increasing price is only gonna be for BMA4.  The rest of the BMs will have hints and a static pre-order.

I expect it's because they're trying to be clever, but not realizing how it actually comes off.

This sort of "slow roll" of the release, showcases the worst parts of the bundle for the longest period of time.

As such, you get almost a week of people seeing bundle-shit throw ins, and you just completely bludgeon to death any sense of excitement that spoiling a part of the bundle could generate.

It's basically the Bizarro-world version of the Humble Monthly does. When you lead with shit, why is anyone EVER going to be excited about it?
