Is it? If so, I'm running out at lunch time to grab a copy tomorrow!

I'm getting more and more siked for the unannounced tracks.

Icky Thump, Layla, Mama (MCR), Runnin' Down a Dream, Peace of Mind, & The Pretender plz.
Woo the day after my birthday, what a perfect way to end my 21st. I'll have to change the pre-order to the store near my house so I can get right to playing.
Dumb question.

Are you able to switch/move pre-orders to different store locations (ex. Gamecrazy) without having to go to both of them? I will be out of town the day the game drops and I want to move my pre-order to a store closer to where I'll be.
Are you able to switch/move pre-orders to different store locations (ex. Gamecrazy) without having to go to both of them?
The ONLY way to do this would be to get credit/cash put on a giftcard, then call the other store, tell them you want to preorder it (as long as you have an account at the store you're calling, as well) and you can pay for it by reading the giftcard number off to the employee on the phone. YMMV on if the employee will do it.
Charlie Daniels Band isn't country, I'd say southern rock, at least when that song was recorded.
Still, country ftl

what I dont understand is why this game is $120 in Canada. That's ridiculous. It's going to cost me $135 for Guitar Hero III after tax

I was under the impression that there were over 70 songs in the game, and that only 59 had been revealed so far. Id on't know what happened to that figure, but my bad.

EDIT: And upon counting the songs in that tracklist, there are over 70, and Linkin has his numbers wrong in the OP.

Shut up and enjoy the exchange rate. You're probably getting it as cheap as we are, all things considered.

1 U.S. dollar = 0.976599695 Canadian dollars

It's been going up for a while now, so Canadians are getting screwed.

I cannot believe the DISC only for this game is $60...that kind of sucks. I know it is a HUGE seller, but seems like a lot for new songs basically. I guess I did not get on the Guitar Hero bandwagon. I have GHII, but barely played it....not too much fun by yourself, IMO.

exactly
we're getting pretty reamed on this game

Good catch. Evan's list has 75 tracks.

How do Canadian wages compare with American wages?

At least it's not GH80's.

I'll take 70+ new songs for $60 over 30 new songs for $50 any day.
As tempted as I am to pick up the OXM, I dont know if I can justify 9.00 for like 10 days of playing.
Just got my OXM in the mail on Saturday, couldn't believe there is a 5 song demo for GHIII on it, of course the demo disc for OXM only works about 25% of the time, most of the time it just spins up and says its a Mixed Media Disc. WTF!

I will have to get out the guitar for the demo though if I can get the disc working. EVEN FLOW FTW!

Even better that I'm scoring the bundle for Free! :bouncy: I'll finaly be able to play co-op on GHII and GHIII!!! Guess I gotta get the wife practicing for Rock Band!
Paranoid had better end up being a Master track.
It isn't. Read the OP.

Also, Bret Michaels is not a boss. He's just a dude in the game.

Thanks Scorch.

I'll have to try this soon.

I am sold on the song selection. Those are some killer tracks! This should be called Guitar Hero: Legends of Ken's Music Groups He Likes and Some He Doesn't and We Kick a Lot of Ass! But I guess that would be a really long title.

Although I absolutely loved Guitar Hero II, I can't say I'm really too impressed with Guitar Hero III yet after playing the demo. Yes, it is nice to have a new list of songs and boosted graphics, but what really will determine whether this is a GH II upgrade will be its XBL multiplayer. Too bad we can't try that out on the demo just yet.
Uhhhhh....the guy with the game took pics, and the setlist matches the leaked one. None of those songs are in it.

*insert song list here*
Wait WTF wasn't Velvet Revolver's She builds quick machines already confirmed somewhere? Or could that be Slash's battle song?

I hope its still in because that song rocks \\:D/

No. SBQM was never officialy confirmed, and no, it isn't Slash's battle song.

No.

I don't see the appeal of online multiplayer at all. Multiplayer in GH is just fun when you're rocking out and drinking with buddies laughing at each other etc. Not really a competitive thing--though I guess some people can make anything competitive.

I think that's the point...now I can play without driving 45 mins to my buddies house...hauling a plastic guitar with me. That's the beauty of it. I just hope the lag isn't a problem...

My point was I wouldn't have fun without my buddies beside me drinking, and laughing at each other rocking out like retards. It's a social thing for me, so just playing online doesn't much appeal to me.

But of course, driving isn't an issue for me since I have the PS2 games and two controllers so the gaming's at my place. :D

Here's the details on the soundtrack...sorry if its been posted, this thread moves too fast and I can't keep up:

SANTA MONICA, CA - October 16, 2007 - Music and videogames take the next step in the digital revolution with expansion songs included with a game's soundtrack CD for the first time. Guitar Hero® III: Legends of Rock Companion Pack (Interscope Records), to be released on October 23, 2007, features not only the key songs on Activision's Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock, available October 28, 2007, but also exclusive access to more gameplay with three previously unreleased expansion songs to play with Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock for Xbox 360.

Included in each Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Companion Pack is a unique code users may input at www.interscope.com/guitarherocode to receive a unique Xbox Live code. Users may then input the Xbox Live code into their Xbox 360 console when logged into Xbox Live, to download the expansion songs. Xbox Live codes are expected to be available when Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock launches on October 28.

The three expansion tracks are "Carcinogen Crush" from AFI (from an EP due in December), "Tina" from Flyleaf and a remix of Marilyn Manson's "Putting Holes In Happiness" by Nick Zinner from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The latter two recordings also are heard on the soundtrack CD, along with AFI's "Miss Murder," Sonic Youth's "Kool Thing," Queens Of The Stone Age's "3's And 7's," Smashing Pumpkins' "Cherub Rock," Velvet Revolver's "Slither," Living Colour's "Cult Of Personality," Rise Against's "Prayer Of The Refugee," the Guitar Hero rendition of "Devil Went Down To Georgia" by Steve Ouimette and the game's intro by Slash, who is also a character in the game.

I really hope that's on Hard, because I would expect something more challenging from Slayer.

I know it was announced that it would unlock 3 songs but have the tracklist on the soundtrack been mentioned before?

It's the ending part, which is really just a bunch of wild craziness, so idk.
I know it was announced that it would unlock 3 songs but have the tracklist on the soundtrack been mentioned before?
The tracklist doesn't really matter, though, as the only thing anyone will care about is the fact that it unlocks songs.

Holy fuck, The Metal is hard. I tried it like 6 times, and it just kept kicking my ass.

I'm glad that Neversoft was able to do this series justice, the demo songs are badass (Lay Down is awesomeness), and it feels just right.

The expanded note-hit timer also makes you feel badass, as you can pull off lines that GH1/2 would have destroyed you on.

Dude I just got lay down in my itunes and I have listened to it like 10 times today. It is such an amazing song. I don't even have the demo, so I am killing to play that song.
fuck I forgot to look for the new OXM today! Guess the demo will have to wait till tomorrow.
Eh, I checked 6 different places tonight (Barnes and Noble, Target, Walmart, Shopko, and two grocery stores), and no one in my town has the Dec OXM out on the racks. Saw lots of Nov issues, and one place that still had the Sept issues out.

Same here. All the stores I went to still had the November issues out.

Oh well, I can wait 2 weeks. That $10 would be better spent towards the actual game.

The menus and face of the game are really nice, visuals are nice and clear too.

Pull-offs are a lot easier too. :D Guess they had to be for songs like ''Through the Fire and the Flames''.
