Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - 8/21 Dragonforce Track Pack

Not to echo what Myke said, it is true that RockBand is kicking GHIII to the curb in terms of bands.

yeah, on the 18th "my iron lung" comes out for as dlc. Also, "Buddy Holly" by weezer and "Brass in Pocket" by the pretenders.

I almost take back what I said: I may lose "metal cred" (not that I had or cared to have any anyway) for admitting this, but I had no idea that Anthrax' "Antisocial" was a cover - and that the Trust version was older (or existed). I do have a 12" copy of Anthrax' "nisefuckinep" (I'm not trying to type that backwards), where they did the French version of the song, but thought they were just being Anthrax. Quite goofy, them.

Ow, well, you learn somethin' new - I'll be picking up the Trust song only because I can buy it a la carte and not in a bundle.
 
well..the bright side is that i'll be saving money on guitar hero dlc. of course, that means i'll just put more money into the rock band dlc. i hope these don't sell so that they will lower their prices and, perhaps, get rid of this pack only songs.

That's assuming you paid full price for your points. This is CAG, afterall. I'm still riding on last years Gears of War pre-order points(free). I haven't even dipped into this summers Circuit City B1G1 deal points yet.

Okay. So quick-play.

I like to just have Guitar Hero on and let people hammer away at it, friends and family at parties, that sort of thing.

But how do I let them enter their own high scores? If I sign in then their high-scores would be added to my account... if I sign out then none of the songs will be unlocked.

What to do?

On Quickplay just let everyone input their high scores. If they just play casually you shouldn't have to worry about them polluting your high score lists. If they beat your scores then practice and knock them out! My arcade machines save all high scores and my friends are constantly putting their initials in there. My brother-in-law has the Galaga high score right now and it makes me mental but it gives me something to strive for!
 
Does anyone know a number I should call about the free tracks with the companion pack. I still haven't gotten an email from that crappy interscope.com, so I can't input the code on the sheet that came with the CD to get the code that will unlock the content. Stupid advertising, just put the damn code in the case next time. I have made more than one account and need to know my next option.

Try to exchange the disc at the store and get a new code, try again. Otherwise an email to redocatne may bring answers.
 
Its not the code itself. The code says to go to interscope.com where you must fill out all your infirmation. They will send you a confirmation email then you can put the code in at the website. This gives another code to plug into you xbox.

The only problem with the GH III guitar is that it's inferior to GH II's X-plorer. It doesn't break or anything, but it's just not a good guitar. At least not as good as the X-plorer.

I would suggest you just buy the GHII bundle and play it first. I think it's a much better game than III. But even if it's not, it's still worth playing, and since it's harder to hit notes in II than III, it would take some adjusting to play II after III.

Whatever you do, don't buy the X-Plorer by itself. It's a ripoff, since you could probably get the game for $20 more.

As for the guitars, I'm with RichMeisterMan, but most people seem to prefer the Les Paul.

I would first recommend that you try and find a walmart bundle. Since it has the Xplorer with GH III.


If you can't do that then do what CokeCola said. Buy a Guitar Hero II Bundle, it's a great game too.

OR, buy this! It even comes with extra goodies.

Or you can look for GH2 sales (TRU had that $40 sale right?) and then take advantage of the B2G1F at GS for GH3.
 
I think the Les Paul blows away the X-Plorer myself.
The only downside is that you have to clean the contacts where the neck attaches
sometimes or certain buttons can get unresponsive. But it is better designed and wireless....!
 
The Les Paul is far better than the Xplorer. It's not even close really.

I use the Les Paul for both GH and Rock Band. Best fake guitar released so far.

I FINALLY beat Knights of Cydonia on Hard last night and got to the last tier. Cult of Personality, Cliffs of Dover and Number of the Beast were pretty easy - One is goddamn impossible. There is no way I will ever ever ever ever ever ever finish it. I can't even imagine what it looks like on expert. I'm fine until the solo at the end but I can't even do it in practice mode on the slowest setting. I don't understand the difficulty spikes this game has. I shouldn't be able to beat Cliffs of Dover (the preceeding song) on my first try and then never in a million years beat One. It makes no sense. At least in Guitar Hero II the shit was doable.

Now you can see all your scores/streaks/stars by tiers and difficulty! They also have stats for all the DLC and Co-Op! I'll be buying the pack just for Sleeping Giant. Man, if only they released a Mastodon pack of 3 songs - Sleeping Giant, Iron Tusk and Hearts Alive would make me die. Though I too am a little surprised they released this along with shit like Linkin Park and The Used. Does anyone even like all three bands?

Could you imagine Mastodon tracks being in Rock Band? The drummer's arms would fall off trying to pull off Brann's licks.

No thank you, Activision. I'd have been more open if they'd not outright said "we deserve to be compensated" for Harmonix working on and submitting a patch to allow the PS3 Les Paul to work in Rock Band...but that's in the alternate universe where they did not say that.

we 3 kings is fun as hell. This guy that makes that song and devil went down to georgia is crazy. Its like the song and then hes like, aww fuck it crazy badass guitar solo time. Definitly looking forward to more of his renditions of old songs in guitar hero 3.
