Oh, shut the fuck up. These are fucking bonus tracks, just as there have been with every fucking Guitar Hero game. Furthermore, song licensing isn't some magical thing that can just happen. They can't make Led Zeppelin appear in the game just by mere force of will, ok?

Nice, I'm planning to get Tony Hawk's Proving Ground anyway, a GH 3 demo on there is great! Can't wait for GH 3 so I can play more new songs.
 
Man I was listening to Even Flow (pearl jam for you youngins) and HOLY shit that is going to be SICK on Expert mode! I forgot how crazy the guitar goes at the end.

I didn't know who In Flames was because I have fallen away from the Metal scene but holy LORD the metal scene has gotten very very very very very mad. I thought Lamb of God was angry but shit. Sounds like that will be fun as hell to play.

Morello has solo stuff coming out, they could always pull from that, giving Morello a reason to be in the game: a little old-fashioned self promotion for a new album.
 
I've wanted a demo for this and Rock Band more than any other games. For this, because I want to know if the franchise still retains the same feeling without Harmonix at the helm, and for Rock Band because I want to know if the songs are just as challenging as Guitar Hero II's.

Yessssss!!

I was hoping a Pat Benatar song would show up eventually in a GH game. Wasn't in GH 80's, so it's good that GH3 will be picking up the slack.
 
You know, I've been kinda mulling over the inclusion of the foreign tracks, and it isn't that outrageous to think that they might only be Bonus Tracks. I mean, Harmonix only announced the non-bonus tracklist before each release, but this isn't Harmonix.

All I can say is, if Dave Mustaine is not included as a "legend of rock," I am going to be fucking pissed (same goes if a Megadeth song does not make it on the game either). He is way more of a guitar legend than Slash, easily.
 
Frank Zappa is more of a guitar legend than all of them put together but you know he won't be there either. Same with Hendrix...
 
That In Flames GH3 thing was pretty sweet.
Though didn't look much fun, but because it was only on Medium.
I don't need my most expensive book for college...so I think I'm going to return it for full price and preorder GH3.
Not sure if I should do that, or put a deposit on Rock Band.
Also, if I do get GH3, should I just get the software? Will the GH3 guitar work with rock band?
Although I wanted those higher note frets that the rock band guitar has...
 
New Info

New Cheat System: Similar to the THPS games, you enter cheats in a little menu. The way you do it is you play a sequence of notes or chords that resemble a famous riff. The cheat is then saved, and you can just turn it on or off. One cheat allows you to use Bret Michaels in every song.

New Hyperspeed: One of the cheats is hyperspeed, obviously, but now there are 5 levels, ranging from slightly slower than GH2's hyperspeed, to much faster

Star Power and Fretboards: The fretboards are now darker than they were in past games, making the notes easier to see. When star power is activated, there is no longer a splash effect that hinders your ability to see the notes.

Random stuff:
- New guitar is great.
- New HOPO system feels more natural. Can now HOPO from one long sustain to another.
- One is the new Freebird.
- Presentation is great.
- Game is done.

Sounds good all around. I REALLY hope this all translates to the PS2 version.
 
Linkin, the songs would be too easy :p.

Also, I think it'd be extremely difficult to emulate some of morello's solos on a GH guitar.

:rofl: I'd knew I'd get some negative reaction. Doesn't matter it won't happen anyway...plus I forgot it would have to be a guitarist. Brad from LP would have been sweet ;)...though IIRC they only said that there would be 3 bosses and we now know who they are.

I was in Gamestop yesterday, taking advantage of the bonus trade-in for Halo 3 reserves, and they had their in-store video playing. I noticed that "Unsung" by Helmet was blaring out of the video (they're one of my all time fave bands), and then the voice over said "Guitar Hero III...in stores this fall". I asked the guy "did that just have helmet on it? for GHIII?" and he goes "yeah, I was wondering the same thing. we just got that promo video in yesterday...I can't find anything about it."

Please, someone tell me this song is going to be on the game. I worship Page Hamilton...

Unsung was in the first GH, so I'd be surprised it if popped up in GHIII.

A Linkin Park song would be easier than I Love Rock and Roll. It would have to be in tier -54 and it's name would become an adjective for any really easy song in future GH games.

In other words; Linkin Park and its members have no business being involved in a game where the primary focus is on the guitars.

As a side note, the guy who posted that info says he'll be talking to someone at Red Octane about revealing more stuff on Tuesday.
 
In a Guitar Hero 3 interview, some dude said that the 3rd guitarist wouldn't be a real person, but that he'd be bad ass.
Something like that, it was in a gamespot interview and I'm too lazy to go see it again.

Buckethead is the only artist to have ever made a custom song (or is it just the solo?) exclusively for Guitar Hero. It just seems logical that he'd be a boss this time around.

I have 2 guitars. I know that the GH3 guitars are supposed to be.. better..but how "better" can they be?

I really don't want to dish out more money on this game + 2 more guitars..ugh.

Is there anyone else who is just picking up the GAME when it comes out and keeping the GH2 guitar???

I'm sticking with the wired guitars I got with GHI and II. It sucks being tethered to the system, but I throw in a 6' extention on each guitar, and suddenly my problem is solved. Nothing on the new guitars is so far appealing enough to me to justify a new purchase.
