Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - 8/21 Dragonforce Track Pack

I picked up the game-only version of GHIII at the TRU Buy Madden get a game half off thing. Well by picked up I mean ordered. So I am potentially getting it at $30. I'll pick up the guitar later if it's really worlds away, and depending on the Rock Band compatibility.

He didn't technically write the song especially for GH2. He always plays that song live (I've seen him 3 times) but never did a recorded version. So he recorded it specifically for GH2. I sure as shit hope he's the 3rd boss!

Its kind of odd Tom Morello would be a boss, but theres no Rage or Audioslave songs in it? I'm assuming they'll add one, come on Wake Up!

Agreed. Thats like Metallica putting Frantic in GH3 instead of One. I'd rather have Rust In Peace... Polaris or Train of Consequences.

Bulls on Parade - fuck yeah! Our band played that song in a middle school talent show and it still is one of the best Rage songs ever - can't wait to play it on GH3.
 
No boss could compare to John Petrucci. Maybe Yngwie Malmsteen, Satriani or Vai. Everyone else mentioned are little leaguers compared to these four.
 
Wouldn't Jimi Hendrix be the ultimate guitar boss? Personally I would like to see FZ but that will never happen.

LOL if they actually made the singer of Poison a boss that would keep many people from even buying the game
(including me). I have to think twice just knowing they have a song in there...gak.

I don't get why every conversation about Guitar Hero and Rock Band has to turn into some sort of boring-ass dick flailing "my taste in music surpasses your taste in music" festival.

That said, I'd really want to find out "Cemetary Gates" will be in GHIII.

Also, speaking of Guitar Heroes, after seeing a free (!!!) show by Unknown Hinson last night, that dude can fuckin' PLAY. Wow.

Becuase it's completely wrong for the consumer to have input on what he wants and does not want in a product.

Also, we all know how much you'd just love it if GHIII was full of MCR, Fall out Boy, The used, Panic! At the Disco, etc.

What's wrong with discussing what you'd like to see in a game? Sounds like every other game thread out there.

Another vote for Cemetary Gates. That would rock. I'd love to see, in one of these games in some form, Queensryche, Dream Theater, Ted Nugent(Stranglehold) and George Thorogood. Dream Theater would make more sense for Rock Band since drums are a big part of the band.

As for the Weezer/Cuomo talk, I can't speak for anyone else, but I would assume the disdain is from the fact that Weezer isn't reknowned for theiir musicianship. Sure they make some great catchy tunes but when you think guitar god, Cuomo doesn't come to mind.

Maybe if he was in for fun. Have him be a boss on the easy level for shits and giggles. And while we are talking fun, how about taking on Ace Frehley in full Kiss makeup? Again, due to the nature of the music, he'd have to be a boss on a lower level.

Yep. His "solos" are just the vocal melody, and his songs aren't really all that complex. Shit, past the first 2 albums, they're not all that, ya know, "non-shitty", either.

I just thought when I read that Cuamo or whatever should be the boss "wtf is this dude talking about. Its fucking Weezer." I would consider myself a weezer fan but you hit the nail on the head. I'll take it one notch further, after Blue album weezer went the way of Weezer < ME

Cemetary Gates would be un freaking believable, funny you posted that cause my buddies and I were discussing what we want to play in Guitar Hero and that was number 1 for all of us. We also decided that it would be cool when you beat the game if you could get to play the Star Spangled Banner Hendrix edition during the credits. I am sure some muslim would complain though that we're being racist.

I wasn't referring to that, I was referring to the transition of "I'd like to see this song/that song in GHIII" to "fuck you have lousy taste in music, and this relatively unknown metal band is vastly superior to anything you've offered so far," and then how the conversation moves from there, so that it's no longer about GHIII, but whether or not Rivers Cuomo can play guitar.

I just suggested Pantera, so I'm not against discussing what I want to see in the game - but I'm not going to sit here and badmouth all those bands Punk_Raven just listed, as much (!) as I want to.

Personally I think any song could be fun to play whether you are a fan of the song/artist or not.

I posted that video 4 days ago in this very thread, post #404. Same thing with Bulls on Parade, except it was only 3 days ago and there wasn't any confirmation about it being a master track.

Now that is a huge list of songs to be excited for as long as all those songs actually turn out to be in the game. Also, I'm sure I would like most of the others or maybe have even heard them, but I just don't recognize the names. If these songs are all in fact in the game, this will be my favorite Guitar Hero yet, hands down. Now all it needs is either Soundgarden or Audioslave.

Also, if I could have picked two songs that are kind of...out there, they would have been "when You Were Young" and "Helicopter", which are both possibly in the game, so those 2 songs alone would have made me wanted this.
