You're right. I may wait to see what DLC they offer when I buy Guitar Hero: The Lunchbox and Thermos combo.
So it'll be like Spaceballs? :D
$200 means GHIII comes first, and Rock Band comes after a thorough round of reviews, opinions, and a giant-ass 20%+ off sale.
Yup, you and I think alike.

I also have a copy of Guitar Hero 2 I got on the cheap, no guitar. So I'll be good as far as Guitar Hero action goes.
Though it's an older album, I was hoping that a song off "The End of Heartache" would be chosen.

I love KSE, but their newest album is terrible.
I don't think it's that bad. There old stuff is great, but the new disc is pretty decent.

Ya I'm really leaning towards cancelling my Rock Band pre-order. Every day impresses me a little less with their announcements.
New Vids

Tom Morello is in one of them.
I'm not a big Pearl Jam fan, but I remember one day riding home in the car and on my iPod mix Even Flow came on and I listened to the guitar and thought "man that would be crazy hard in GH" The week following they announced that would be in there and I thought "yeeessssssss" After seeing the video of Even Flow it looks like they did it justice cause that guitar is all over the place :)

Anarchy in the U.K. confirmed. Rerecording.

After Activision was unable to find the original Sex Pistols master tapes from the 1970s -- no doubt left in a bar or used to light Sid Vicious's cigarette -- they did the only thing they could do: they got the band back together, in classic Blues Brothers style.

Three of the four original Pistols, Johnny "Rotten" Lydon, Steve Jones, and Paul Cook, joined forces with Chris Thomas, the producer of Never Mind the Bollocks, to put together the re-recording, which was mixed on the same vintage analog desk as the original master. The trio are also set to play a series of sellout gigs in London in November.

The Sex Pistols join fellow stars Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses, and The Rolling Stones in the Guitar Hero III lineup, which will be going head-to-head with EA's Rock Band when it's released on October 28.

Also, new screenshots.

I did this just to piss you off: I hate the Guitar Hero series, Its lame, but seriously, it sucks to me. Reason why: I suck at it!
Does anyone else think theyre shooting GH's too fast. I see a new one every year.
you say that like it is a bad thing.

I'd rather see that and pay for a hard copy than waste a ton of money on DLC.
On the latest OXM's rumor mole section, its rumored that more Metallica songs will be available via download.
Here's to hoping for "King Nothing". It'd be a good fit.

:puke:

One of their worst songs of their career. If they are going to charge a premium for Metallica at least make it something good. With a new album on the way, I imagine there might be a Metallica bundle with a couple old songs and one new one to promote the new CD.

fuck that. We need more Megadeth! Or Pantera...

You guys have to get with it, man. Nobody likes anything metallica did besides the black album.

( i liked some songs off of the album with King Nothing on it )
They shoulld do the entire Reload album. Best Metallica Album ever, next to St. Anger that is.
It would be blasphemous to include St. Anger in a game where you can't beat the shit out of a snaredrum like a kid with tourette's and about six Red Bulls in him.

the dumbest. Hopefully you were being sarcastic, and if so, kudos to you for getting me. If not see the two words prior to the smilie.

 Winner.

So, I've been operating under this assumption, but do we have confirmation that the wireless GH3 guitar will work with GH2 as well? I've read a lot about the Xplorer working with GH3 / Rock Band, and I assumed the reverse was true but just realized today that I hadn't gotten any confirmation of that at all.

The leaked set list was real.

Aerosmith - Same Old Song and Dance
Bloc Party - Helicopter

Charlie Daniels Band - Devil Went Down to Georgia
Cream - Sunshine of Your Love
Dead Kennedys - Holiday in Cambodia
Disturbed - Stricken
Eric Johnson - Cliffs of Dover
Matchbook Romance - Monsters
Slipknot - Before I Forget
Social Distortion - Story of My Life
Sonic Youth - Kool Thing
Stevie Ray Vaughn - Pride and Joy
The Who - The Seeker
White Zombie - Black Sunshine

Oh, and Black Magic Woman is a cover.

Can't hardly wait!

The link indicates that "When You Were Young" is the original track ("by", as opposed to "as made famous by"). It's just too bad that the SRV song is a cover.

EDIT: Beaten to it by a day #-o
EDIT2: There does seem to be a couple new songs on my list...
So Guitar Hero 1 will be 100% compatible on the PS3, but GH2 and Rocks the 80's won't work with hammer ons and star power? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?
That's insanely annoying, mostly because GH1 doesn't have lag calibration for HD sets.

I'm glad I sold my copy off a couple weeks ago, I had a feeling something like that would happen.
This has probably been discussed a few pages back, but whats the deal with the Co-op songs?
Assuming it's the same as in GHII, one person plays a lead guitar track, the other the rhythm track or a bass track.

You share one star power meter, meaning a mistake by either will kill it etc. And you both have to tilt your guitars at the same time to activate it.

Otherwise, it's the same as single player, just trying to clear the songs/score as high as possible.

Not a big deal but you might want to add Velvet Revolver as one of the bands Slash is in seeing as you put both bands of the other two bosses.

Well that means The Devil Went Down to Georgia isn't the final encore, because they don't announce that until the game comes out, or near release.

*crosses fingers for Crazy Train as final encore*
