Yeah thats the other thing, when he was happy he was an honest salesman, then suddenly after his wife gets killed he turns into a more stereotypical car salesman.
Oh, hey, everyone. Sylar's good again! Come on, they could've at least given us some cheesy 80's montage of Sylar redeeming himself culminating in a freeze frame of him and Peter slapping each other a high five.
Maybe when Heroes gets canceled, they can do a spin-off. Peter and Sylar become roommates in New York. One is a neat freak and the other makes a mess by leaving people's brains all over the place. But it's ok, because Sylar will apologize, and who can resist his puppy dog eyes? Oh, the hilarity!
I heard somewhere that the next volume is called "Brave New World" the same name as this season finale. Does anyone know if this true and if it is a citation from where?

They still haven't decided if they will renew heroes or not. If they do, the new season will be entitled A Brave New World, which is the same title as the last episode without A in front of it. I hope they go for one more season at least, and from what ive read, one more season will put them over 100 episodes and a show is worth a lot more for re-runs on other networks if it has 100+ episodes. So NBC might invest for one more season for that alone.

That's a good point. No matter what anyone says, I am sure that they can squeeze atleast one more season out of the show. If not then the idea of Monday being the "Series" finale and being only an hour long would suck.

Yeah, five seasons is generally when a show can get picked up for syndication. Add to the fact that Heroes DVDs sell really well (especially internationally) and that with Leno's show getting the axe, NBC has to fill at least 33% of their schedule, I'd say it's very possible we'll see at least one more season.
All this talk about Heroes living on in syndication is depressing. If ever there was a show that needed to go away and never come back, Heroes is that show.

Well maybe with the extra space they will create your Peter/Sylar spin-off. Most likely they will just rip off episodes of "Joey" and add powers to them. Peter walking around saying "How you doin".
Alright, so I'm 2 weeks behind, but I'll still chime in as I am watching the last 2 episodes.
Seriously, how ing dumb do they think people are? I mean wow, one person shooting a sniper endlessly, that's believable. And if the carnies believe its HRG, just got to that part in the episode from 2 weeks ago, the are a bunch of ing morons and need killed.
Last weeks episode was ok until the ending. I sort of like how things are setting up for the finale. Though why, like I've seen others post, would you send a multiplying person to get 2 empaths? Would that mean each of their splits could have a different power? Like if they touched another hero they would get their ability? Hell Heroes could just pay 2 people to do the whole show.....
What the hell was with everyone standing there while Claire blew the whistle? Hiro alone could have stopped her, Noah could have dragged her down before she got too high up , hell Peter could have used his new earth power to cause a huge dust storm. I felt the episode fell flat, I kept expecting something major to happen but it never happened and that shit with Charlie was just a big cop out
What a shitty ending, it's like no one gave a anymore and just let her do it. It was nice to see Ando finally get to do something, dude is the most useless sidekick ever.

That is what really bothers me, Peter of all people should have been the first screaming no like a madman; I mean shit he literally went to a future like the one she was creating and it was a damn mess.
Noah being trapped in a trailer 30 feet under ground and still managing to be saved , I was suddenly reminded that people used to actual die in the show
Yeah i thought he would really die, i had forgotten that tracy hadn't been seen in a while. And wtf happened with Suresh? They went through the trouble of braking him out and he didn't do much.
The ending was weak sauce. I mean seriously, why not have Peter turn or something and just destroy Samuel. And Parkman is a piece of shit lazy bum. I've stayed neutral to his character, but he sucks now. Just kill him off already.
Edit: I like how Peter and Hiro are completely against it. And then Sylar is just for being out in the open. Here comes another divided storyline if there is a next season.
Edit 2: If it gets another season, will anyone care? It'll have been off the air for 7 months by then.

I smell a Civil War ripoff. But maybe that's what's needed. Because it sure as hell provided a shot of adrenaline in the Marvel universe.
Yah, i liked it all till the last 10 minutes when it all basically fell apart. Also, hiro can still fix it by going to the past and teleporting claire to hawaii or something, but is that only for chicks he is in love with?

Remember folks, pointing out all of the plot holes in heroes would take far longer than anyone would care to acknowledge. Here's just a few we could go down
- How quickly everyone could get to the Carnival in NYC. Multiple Man, Peter, and Sylar were coming from LA. Team Bennet came from the carnival's previous location, where it was already quite dark.
- How Multiple Man found Sylar and Peter in LA, despite both being residents of NYC (usually).
- How Charlie would be able to stay and work in Detroit, despite lacking an SSN, Birth Certificate, or anything that would be able to ID her as a US citizen...and how improbably impossible it would be for her to contact Hiro then, as opposed to any other time during their lives.
- How Samuel became completely powerless when Hiro and Co. teleported out, despite at least 4 Supers being around (Peter, Sylar, Emma, Doyle)
- How Samuel became completely powerless when Hiro and Co. teleported out, even though he was able to use his Terrakinesis to great effect on a Mansion and Police Station, despite not being near any Supers.
- How Matt couldn't find Multiple Man Prime by scanning the thoughts of all the Multiple Men, and only going after the one that actually had a thought
As for Charlie, I actually kinda liked how they gave her a proper ending. Well, another proper ending. She really didn't need to be brought back at all. She only served as a carrot-on-a-stick so that Hiro would join up with Samuel to save Suresh (who went on to...make a compass no one ever used?) and get a Film for Samuel that explained to him how he powers up.
Seemed like her thread could've been cut, and nothing of value would be lost. Same goes for any thread involving Hiro and Suresh this season.
Anywho, since no Super came back in time to attempt to kill Claire as she revealed her secret, it can't turn out all that bad...right?
Yeah, but Hiro and Suresh's B plots were a relief, otherwise this would have been nothing but Samuel, and more of the ing tired-ass back and forth Sylar shit. I hope Sylar stays a hero and just "helps out" for a while, if only so there is not another mothering season with Sylar as a focal point.
I am about to totally give up on this show. Season 1 and 2 were great!... It felt like there was a real threat to the world and the people had to come together to save the world. These last two seasons, it felt like there was no real danger to the world. Sylar was the real threat, but now he is a dog on a leash. This show really need a real villain quick or I am going to give up after the first 3 episodes of the next season.
That was awful. It had been getting better the last week or so and they completely blew it. Why didn't Hiro just freeze time and go get Samuel? Instead he had to get everyone to hold hands and he "wasn't sure it could work" - oh, the drama!
I also love how the chick from Angel knew EXACTLY where Noah and Claire were and Tracy got there just in time! Why did Samuel lose ALL of his power with Peter standing right next to him? A few episodes back he was able to lift a rock and kill his brother in the middle of nowhere with only one super around.
Doyle would NEVER be able to overpower Sylar even if he surprised him. Sylar has so many powers I'm sure one of them could be used to fight back like the one where he can yell real loud and create sound waves or something. Doyle was letting him speak... Whatever happened to his other abilities like turning stuff to gold, disintegrating something, generating electricity, etc.?
Salamando3000 was right here, there were just too many plot holes this time around to keep listing. The entire thing was just a mess , hell I was also baffled how Charlie with her enhanced memory and trip to the past didn't set herself up as the richest woman on earth with all the future knowledge of events she had.

It ended in mostly a mess as I pretty much expected. I was really dumbfounded that Doyle was able to get the upper hand on Sylar. The Hiro/Charlie thing was all right and I'm glad Hiro didn't go back in time to cause more chaos. Multiman could have been controlled by Parkman at the end. Ray Park Jr's character was completely wasted in this season.
I don't think Claire was stopped because it's what everyone expected(myself included). She was tired of keeping her secret and felt that after some egomaniac nearly opened a huge sinkhole in Central Park this was the best time to show her true self?(way to calm the masses blondie) It was not the worse season and maybe the next season(if it happens) will be better.

I think Doyle
gained the upper hand with Sylar because Sylar let him. Past evil Sylar would have quickly turned the tables and killed Doyle, but Sylar is trying to be good now.
Claire is a young college-aged girl.
So, thinking rationally and suppressing her emotions on a topic she has long-wanted to resolve probably wouldn't come easy.
I did enjoy this season, though. But, I did not analyze it in any regard. I did that that last few seasons, and my head almost exploded.
Argh... oh, how frustrating it was to watch this episode. Maybe someone can explain some stuff to me:
Alright, first of all, why the hell was Samuel rendered useless because his carnies were taken away? Did he not sink an entire mansion into the ground earlier in the season when he was alone (and drunk)? Not to mention Peter, Sylar, Doyle, and Claire were at the Carnival at that time. Are you telling me he couldn't even manage to lift a rock the same size as the one he killed his brother with?
And did I miss something? When did Nurse Cello learn to hit someone with a sound blast? That is what she hit Doyle with, right?
As for Sylar... well, it was actually kind of cool seeing him as a good guy. I think it was--WAIT A MINUTE! NO NO NO NO!!! *sigh*
Sylar has remained pretty much my only reason for watching the show since the end of season two. Sure, if he's a genuine good guy now it could be interesting, but what the hell... I feel like the craziest, most badass villain ever just got de-clawed and neutered.
Crikey. I honestly hope the show is done. I don't care what questions are left unanswered. Just let it end. If it MUST continue, I hope it's just a 13 episode season with the sole purpose of taking care of all the loose ends. I'd watch that... and complain when they make things worse. Because they will.

You did miss something - they established earlier in the season that she could use sound waves as a weapon. She cracked the wall and ceiling of her apartment.
Sylar should have died at the end of Season 1. He was one of the most bad ass villains in any TV show and they turned him into a complete pussy. Way before this season though.
Ah, thanks for the info. I guess the episode she learned to do that was one of the two episodes I slept through this season. At least now I know it didn't come out of nowhere.
Yeah, Sylar should have died at the end of season one. I'm still glad he didn't, though, despite the stupid crap they did with him... including becoming a super-powered Norman Bates wannabe for a little while. Most of it kept me entertained enough to keep watching.
Oh, and while I'm thinking about it:
Whatever happened to Sylar's sidekick from season 3? I missed one episode from that season, I think, and it was apparently the one where they did away with him. Did Sylar kill him before getting to his father's house?

I would LOVE to see a list of:
1. Storylines completely dropped
2. Characters completely forgotten about; and
3. Inconsistencies within the Heroes universe
I'm sure somewhere out there a nerd is hard at work.
Past threads Ive defended this show to the end....I can no longer do that...This has to be one of THE BIGGEST BS finales in the history of finales....They save the day by teleporting carnies away and thats the end of it?
Last nights ep should have gone down WAAAAAAAAAAAY earlier in the season. Too much filler BS.
Maybe because Im a Hiro fan but I liked the way they ended things with the Charlie saga. I didnt care for it at first but when the grandkids and family came in, I thought it ended rather well. No probs there.
Im officially taking a shit on this season...it sucked...BAD....this season was suppose to be THE SEASON that got this show back on track and instead it was an epic failure of derailment.
Assuming they let them come back again next season...Ill still watch it...maybe if enough time goes by and enough hurt feelings are gone, Ill attempt it with a clean slate..of sorts.
I don't remember - I'm sure someone will come in here and say the storyline was wrapped up in a random comic book that you could send away for with 5 Frankenberry cereal box tops or something but the fact is we both remember the character but have no idea what happened to him. That is horrible horrible storytelling.

Ha, yeah... sounds plausible.
I always have to laugh when people bring up the official online comics or other promotional stuff like that, and then use it to try to defend a show. I've seen it done a lot with Heroes elsewhere.
They'll say "Oh, they didn't forget that character! They just decided he was better for the comic!" or something to that effect. But the fact of the matter is, no matter how many times the makers of the stuff tout it as canon, it isn't.
It's canon up until the shows writers decide a character from the comic will be brought back to the show and completely contradict whatever story happened in the comics, because it didn't fit with what they plan to do on the show.
The Supernatural comics spring to mind here.
Anyway, sorry for the mini rant. Just got reminded of one time when a friend threw the web comic in my face to argue a point.

Sylar kicked him(Luke Campbell) out of the car. I believe it during the beginning of the episode where he saw his father. Sylar told him to go home to his mother. Other than that nothing else is known about him. The actor went on to go do Cougar Town, so that is probably why he isn't on heroes anymore.
Also Noah said that the old company was taking Samuel. Does he seriously think it is a good idea to put him around specials? Maybe they will just give him those "Haitian" Pills...
As for the season finale, I think if they had a two hour season finale they could have pulled off a decent ending. IMHO it was far from the worst TV show season ending. "No, I'm a hero." I will continue to give heroes a chance. I like the "civil war" idea some people were talking about.
I will continue to give heroes a chance.
This is the most unbelievably puzzling thing about the show. I'll probably keep watching too and so will tons of other people but I have no idea why!!!
What happened to that black girl who could instantly learn kung fu from watching someone? That was actually a pretty cool power, but then she just disappeared after season 2 i think.
Put too much time into it to leave now, in theory there is no place to go but up
I thought that after season 3... and was quickly proven wrong.
I don't know, the finale wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be, all things considered. I expected it to be even more rushed than it turned out to be--so I guess it was a good thing I went in with zero excitement. Samuel's sudden power loss was the biggest issue for me.
All in all, there were a few things I liked about this season:
-Peter seemed to get all of the badass moments. Using a nailgun to pin Sylar to a piece of wood? Sweet. Seemingly being the only person to use his powers to, y'know, save people? Nice. Hell, it's sad to say but Peter's little earth struggle with Samuel at the end is one of the better 'fights' of the show.
-The whole Sylar/Nathan Parkman/Sylar thing was entertaining to me. It should've been resolved a couple of episodes sooner than it was, but I thought it was hilarious.
-I still think it was incredibly stupid to save Charlie, and it made things way too complicated... but I liked the way it was resolved, I guess.
Ugh. For everything I liked, however, there was just too much that went wrong. For example: the way Hiro was healed. Really?
Not to mention I think it was a huge cop-out to have Sylar and Peter become best buddies the way they did. I can imagine that writer's meeting...
"Hey, we should make Sylar and Peter like each other!"
"How? We only have two episodes left, and Sylar killed Nathan!"
"Hmm... I know! Let's trap Sylar in his own mind, where time moves extremely slow. Then, put Peter in there and voila! They'll love each other before the episode is through, because it totally took them years to bust out, even though it's only been like twenty minutes..."

It's all because Season 1 hooked us all in. Then season 2 we let slide due to the writers' strike. Season 3 we laughed at and thought Season 4 would be better. Season 5 will be watched to see if it can sink or swim. Honestly, just reboot the series. Unless of course Claire's coming out, for the 2nd time this season, will bring about badass Future Hiro. Then go for it.
Maybe they're doing it on purpose to give them something to put in those web episodes.
That've got to have someway to deal with the holes in the show. Now if only they'd make the web stuff part of the show...
