Heroes, Volume 5: Redemption - Season 4 airs Mondays at 8pm, starting Fall 2009

Anyone wondering how Sylar doesn't know who he is but, could still mess with Parkman? Maybe it was all in Parkman's head before? Another possibility is with the mind warp Sylar and Parkman's minds could be connected? Another thing why did the "Nathan" shell disappear and become Sylar after he came out of the grave? Is it showing that now Nathan is truly gone and now there is only Gabriel/Sylar? Possibly when Gabriel/Sylar had to heal from the wounds his true self shows similar to Mystique or Morph in the X-men.

Overall, last nights episode was all right. I was thinking Claire's roomate was one of the carnies but I was wrong(at least for now).
Very interested in seeing how the carnies plan to use Sylar. Wondering how powerful Emma's ability could be?

Not a completely horrible episode. Things are getting better but it is still hard to ignore all the bullshit that happened before...

I think Sylar's mind is basically inside Parkman's, that's why he has no memory of himself now. I guess they'll eventually have Parkman transfer his mind back to his own body.

Sylar got his body back and his mind is still stuck in Parkman's (who we haven't seen in 2/3 episodes).

I think the color power is based off of the person's emotions. Its seems obvious now that I think about it. When Emma and Peter were just playing music they were happy and they were producing colors, but when Emma was playing her Cello at the end, she got angry/emotional about something and she did damage.

Im waiting to see wtf goes down that puts Claire in the past..since she's suppose to go on a time travel adventure of sorts.

Because if there's anything this show needs, it's
more fucking time travel.

Since he "died" it basically shut off everything that was keeping him as Nathan, reverting him back to his original self, just without his memories since Parkman technically stole them.

I'm sure its nothing that slicing Parkman's head open wont fix.

OK, so does this annoy anyone else?
They get the kid to heal again, and instead of teleporting to NY (tell the kid he has the chance to save another life, blah blah he's an impressionable youth obviously), Peter takes a plane? Dude, teleport, heal that guy, get his power again, teleport the kid home, THEN take a plane.

And hokey love triangle is lame,
Sylar should've left
.It won't happen, but dude better snap and have some carney brain buffet.

No more Danko means there's no real main human enemy, so T-bag is just looking buttsore for nothing.

Harumph.......

I was wondering the same thing. Teleporting back and forth would of been the logical thing to do but....and they had to bring back teleporting. You know what this means? Peters Irish girlfriend from Season 2 can come back!!!!

Yeah, it was a plot hole. They didn't want Peter to reach him in time, but the way they did it wasn't exactly logical.

That said, the show has still been pretty strong this season IMO, especially pretty much every scene involving Emma.
Peter should have teleport back to the time when he had his true power. THE END.
I'm not convinced that even if he'd thought of that, Peter would WANT his original power back. Obviously he's been significantly nerfed in terms of the show, but it seems like he likes the way his life is now - I'm sure from his perspective having all those powers brought him nothing but trouble.

I hate every scene with emma in it. What is the point of her character?? I love this season so much tho, the carnival is just such a wonderful cast, and i am enjoying the new sylar. Although he will soon realize who he was and turn back to nathan im sure for more fun. Really enjoying the episodes so far.

The show's writers would never bring back or introduce another anti-Sylar. I definitely preferred Peter when he was OP though.
I'm looking forward to sylar killing the knife thrower.
Darth Maul cannot be killed by Sylar! He is a Sith Lord!!!!!!

I meant to say time traveling. Not teleporting.
What is with the way Emma talks? Is that normally how a deaf person talks or what?

*SPOILERS-ISH*

So who thinks now that Hiro is back in the past that he will either
A: Get captured by old evil sylar
B: Get killed
C: Die
D: Somehow screw up the future by saving his lady friend therefore convoluting the show and f'ing up what good feelings we have.
What is with the way Emma talks? Is that normally how a deaf person talks or what?
She's actually much better with her enunciation.

Hey thanks for the input. We'll keep that in mind. We should probably all stop watching Heroes because ninjames thinks its dumb.

What seasons have you even watched?
So who thinks now that Hiro is back in the past that he will either

He could always bring past Sylar back with him. And perhaps a cavalcade of Sylars from other dimensions, each of whom can be mindwiped and brainwashed into thinking they're a different member of the main cast. It'll be just like that episode of The Next Generation with all the Datas.

Only this time, we get President Worf.
Darth Maul cannot be killed by Sylar! He is a Sith Lord!!!!!!
Seems so far they have wasted his character unfortunately.

This season still has me interested and I will keep watching.

Peter is in this stage where he has to save everyone, so having all that combination of powers would allow him to be more effective in rescuing people. Wouldn't you rather have super speed, strength and agility?

I feel the exact opposite way. She's pretty much the main reason I've enjoyed this season as much as I have. The show has been missing its sense of wonder and amazement for years, the fact that people have abilities has become commonplace. It's been quite refreshing to have a new character discovering her abilities and experiencing the full range of emotions associated. The piano scene with Peter and the scene with her and Hiro where he froze time were especially poignant. I think she's fantastic.

At first I wondered why Peter didn't just teleport the kid to heal Hiro, but then I thought it would probably make the kid feel used and could push him back over the edge again. To me, it was inconvenient, but not really a plot hole.

As for Emma, I like her, but the show feels totally different whenever she's in a scene. It slows down tenfold, and is like moving in baby steps as she struggles with her new found ability. It's something we haven't seen in quite some time, but it's kind of a throwback to season one, and I like it for that reason. But I can understand how it feels out of place considering the frantic, helter skelter pacing of the rest of the show.

slickkill, you've never heard a deaf person talk before? Haha, sorry, I find that interesting. Emma does seem to actually have a better grasp on enunciating than many deaf people do. But who knows. Maybe her ability helped with that (considering she can play instruments based on seeing the colors alone...talking could work the same way).

The actress who plays her isn't 100% deaf, so I think that would probably improve her enunciation some, it's probably not any more complex than that.

Guess Mohinder is alive after all. Love that alcohol impairs Sylar in Parkman's mind. Bet Parkman becomes an alcoholic.

Actually..yeah, to me it does...Dont get me wrong, I dig chick on chick action but I guess I take Heroes serious enough where I dont see this angle with Claire doing anything for the overall plot. This season is going nowhere for me.

Alright, I'm usually a pretty ardent defender of Heroes, but tonight's episode was fucking dreadful. Except for
Samuel's revenge at the end
there weren't really any cool moments.

Also, the way that
Jeremy died
was in particularly poor taste, for what should be obvious reasons.

Completely agreed. I felt beyond uncomfortable watching that shit.

I have no idea why it took this long but after tonight's episode I'm done wasting my time with this excuse of a show. I somehow forced my way through the end of last season and decided then that was it. For no good reason I can come up with, I started watching this season. At about 8:45 tonight I had a moment of clarity and realized what a waste of time watching Heroes is. The writing is subpar and not worthy of my (or your) time. I must be some kind of masochist to have watched it this long. The shroud has been lifted! Break the chains and free yourselves!

While I'm not going to stop you from leaving, this episode was definitely not the one to judge it on. Like I said, I'm a Heroes apologist but I can't muster any defense for this episode.

Otherwise, though, this season has been very strong, and I'm going to just pretend this ep didn't happen (which shouldn't be hard, since only a couple important things did occur).

One of the best episodes of Heroes ive ever seen, and ive seen them all. The revenge at the end was the cherry ontop of a delicious (in m.bisons voice) cake. Samuel is one of the best characters in the entire series, a real leader among all the helpless people with abilities. The claire plot really got good at the end with the realization and i bet she calls the hatian to clean up the mess. Man, so good. The jeremy segment is all new and so dark, it was effective to really convey that if people really knew what they could do, they would kill them all. Really great stuff and left tracy really searching for something solid to cling to. And next weeks episode looks to be one of the best yet. CHARLIE-SAN!

The quick preview with sylar standing ontop of hiro/charlie saying "you should probably stand still for this" was so awesome, total throwback to season 1 hotness.

Heroes is finally back to its prime

Certainly were many weak points in this episode however,
Sylar taking over Parkman could be interesting. Samuel's revenge was excellent also.

According to the conversation she had with her mom, Emma was not always deaf. So, when Peter arrived with power to heal I was waiting for him to "heal" her.
