I'd pay $5 for DS1 alone. It and Amnesia hold the two titles for being the only video games to genuinely scare the  fuck out of me since hearing "AHH FRESH MEAT!" from the Butcher in Diablo 1 when I was 10.
Plus I'm kind of excited to try out DS3's co-op with my buddy that's been enjoying DS1 as well.

Anyone else notice that they have actually added an extra charity called GamesAid?

No?

I guess people are too busy bitchin' that they didn't get their copy of Dead Space 2 to notice that this bundle is now helping more people than before. Poor little disabled kids won't get their meds now because little jimmy two shits can't give two shits.

fucking Jimmy Two Shits. Why can't he just give two shits?

If those kids want their meds EA better cough up more games.

You're welcome.

You're is a contraction for YOU are -> i.e. you are welcome.

Your = possessive form.

You don't own the welcome. You're (you are) giving it to someone else.
Hey, I own a total of three welcomes and ain't nobody touchin' 'em. One I keep in my closet still in the original packaging. One I keep on a display shelf with the rest of my collectibles just to you know, show off. And one I keep in my hip pocket, that on occasion I will let someone temporarily awe over and bask in its radiant glory before promptly tucking it back away. Yeah, I'm like that.

Now that I know the location of your (possessive) stashes, I'm stealing your (possessive) welcomes. You're (you+are) welcome.

Welp, 2 new games I've never played. Don't really understand all the hate with Origin. {Curious} Does it interrupt your games to show you ads?{/Curious} I don't think so as far as I know, if it does Damn them for doing it. Still, I don't think it's terrible just to log onto Origin then launch a game. Besides, if you're really that upset, just add it to your steam library with add a non-steam game option. {sarcasm} then you can feel gratified to know that Dead Space 3 is on Steam, and not that shitty EA thingy. {/sarcasm}

[insert respond} people hate origin because its notorious for its horrid customer service {not sarcasm) horrible prices and {sarcasm?> lack of deals

ea is only doing this so more people use origin before their next investor meeting, so their numbers are inflated. wasnt it their ceo that said not too long ago that putting games on sale diminishes the game themselves? ( like you can diminish the newest MoH or NFS more than EA already has)

Sorry for the stick up the ass comment, I've just been severely stressed. Oh, and I'm at least glad we got a RTS, I've never played one besides Halo Wars. We need more EA bonuses!

I have to admit that Origin's customer service has always been top notch when I've had to deal with them.  My only complaint would be that one time it took a few hours of being in the chat queue to get to them, but I just was doing other stuff while waiting.  Other than that, they usually resolve things within five minutes and are super nice.  The ability to chat with a real person is really cool too.  Unless I've been chatting with bots.  Either way, bots get shit done.

lets all calm down and ignore that fool. i hate u all so shut up hhe jk jk it mooby jjob to hate no one can do it than the him since he the best in the world and i wwas sacarstic saying mooby hate army but guess people just hate. Spoderman going to eat us all if we dont be quiet!

This right here

This is tebonics at its best

I'll second/third/fourth origin CS being great. They've been nothing but very nice and helpful the few times I've had to contact them, and simply having a live chat puts them miles ahead of Steam's archaic contact methods (e- what?).

The moral of this story is: try Origin for yourself if you haven't. Don't take the internet at it's word that anything besides Steam sucks and EA is the anti-Christ. Who knows, maybe it's not as bad as you think ;)

I was going to write a reply echoing the others here that Origin CS is not bad, especially in comparison to Steam's (I love Steam, I really do, I mean obviously since I have a kajillion games there, but their CS I'm sorry is just horrid)

But then I lost my train of thought and also a few IQ points by reading Tebow's post.

I've been having trouble activating any of these bundle games on Steam for several days now.

I try to redeem the key, and steam seems to just "time-out" on me and gives me a message the servers cannot be reached. I've tried the keys for 3 different games (multiple times each) with no success.

Any ideas? I could see the servers being overloaded on the 1st day of a deal like this, or during a holiday sale, but something else must be happening now. Is it just me???

have you tried restarting Steam? Also, are you in the beta release (possibly a bug)? I had no problem redeeming my keys, and I haven't seen anyone else having trouble redeeming them on Steam either.

Yep. I've even re-installed steam, and same deal.

I've never had this issue before. Granted I didn't buy any games from the holiday sale, so it's been awhile since I've actually activated anything on steam (probably since last year). I have no problem logging in, seeing my friends list, launching games I already have, downloading, etc. However the games from this humble bundle just refuse to activate with the keys they gave me (all of the ones I've checked). All I want to do is activate the key to add them to my library.

It's weird though because it doesn't outright reject the key or say it's invalid, it's taking about 1 minute trying to activate, then it just "times-out" and gives me a message that the server is unavailable.

I've been having issues with accessing the Steam Community/Market, putting stuff on it to sell, etc., intermittently the past 12 hours. Seems they may be doing some server work.

Sorry

The Steam Community is currently unavailable. Please try again later.

Try running Steam as an Administrator and see if that helps. That'll bypass UAC just in case you have a TCP connection blocked on your firewall. You should also go into Settings and check to see if your nearest server location is correct.

How worn is that hip pocket version? I've got a musty smelling Magicka Steam key as collateral on a short-term loan-out. Never owned a Welcome myself but I'd sure like to try one.

I didn't realize how much you wanted to get rid of it when you offered it to me, I almost feel bad for turning you down.

Not to sound like a greedy little bugger, but if you don't find anyone else, as the last person on earth that doesn't own Magicka I'd take it off you hands ^_~

Well shoot, I just pulled out my extra stash and I guess I am down to the Vietnam DLC. I must have convinced some sucker body to take the Magicka key when cards came out for it. Sorry about that.

I'm kind of excited to play Populus actually. I have Populus 2 from GOG though haven't played it (played Populus 2 demo back in the day I believe), and I always pass on it on GOG sales because I have #2 and everyone says it's much better. I will get a kick out of that freebie in this bundle. Also For the Red Alert 3 expansion, I enjoyed it for the most part. I esp like the mini dungeon crawler with the Japanese girl, and somewhat liked that each campaign was a mini campaign with every mission usually introducing new units to try. Very decent even though Red Alert 3 was better imho( and Red Alert 2 is better than than that and Red Alert 1 better than that....imho of course). Red Alert games were always kind of wacky and fun so it's a fun bonus for those who haven't played it.

How connected to RA3 is the expansion? I know it's stand-alone, but the description on HB certainly makes it sound like a story continuation of RA3.

Oh wow!

I can actually play one the games!  Populous, that is.   :hot:

I mean, I haven't downloaded it yet to make sure, but it's from 1989!  I had better be able to play that!   :headache:

I also might be able to install Uprising, although I'm damn sure I'm a little outside of the requirements, but I remember running Generals on this thing and it ran soooo sluggishly so I'm not holding my breath on having a perfectly pleasant experience if I actually can even get it to install.

:joystick:

Here ya go. I've got codes for both this and the Vietnam DLC.

EDIT:  I have already made a trade with someone for The Sims 3, thanks!

If anyone has an extra Sims 3 code, I have extra codes for several of the games in this bundle, as well as other games.  Please PM me if you are interested in a trade.

No biggie, Caine hooked me up. Thanks anyway though :D

Thanks a ton dude! Wasn't expecting Vietnam as well, so that's a double win for me today ^_^

I'm resisting te urge to buy fifa 12. I really want a soccer game, but don't want to pay the asking price for fifa 13 ($10 I believe)

Events from C&CRA3 are mentioned in Uprising. And there are a few instances where things from the previous game could be spoiled for you if haven't played that first. But it's not like you'll be lost story wise. There really isn't anything too difficult to pick up on. And the story (while amusing) is really just an excuse for all the mayhem in the game anyway.

And on the subject of spoilers. In C&CRA3, you play as one of three different factions. First the Soviets, then the Allies, then Imperial Japan. Each faction's campaign ends with that faction's complete victory over the others. C&CRA3:U starts with the Allies having won the previous war. So I guess that's the "official" ending of C&CRA3. Thus, any spoilers that you might encounter will be from the Allies campaign. And as a result, there's a good chunk of C&CRE3 that wont even get mentioned.

TL;DR - It kinda continues the story of the Allies from the previous game. But there really isn't anything that will leave you lost story wise.

Origin CS is like Amazon CS. Foreign and pretty much confused out of their minds 90% of the time, but they'll bend over backwards to make you happy.

I actually agree w/ this.

I've dealt a few times w/ EA and Origin CS - and yeah, when I had problems, they went the extra mile to try to sort them out.

I bought Dead Space 2 for $25 (like a few weeks after its PC release) during a Flash Sale and it was in the cart at that price - got billed for $50. Called up EA's CS - they refunded a good deal of my money and took an extra $5 off on the price to give it to me for $20 total just b/c they thought it might've been a "hassle" of calling. Fantastic. :D

Also, I actually activated over Origin a key for Bulletstorm PC - but, I selected the Japan version. I bothered CS, they pulled the game out of my account; gave me a new Bulletstorm PC key; and I activated a key and selected USA version this time. :D

About Amazon CS - one time, I had a MP3 coupon code for $3 that didn't work. My stupid-ness and they pointed it out - the code expired. They decided to give me a $3 MP3 credit anyways - how nice of them! :D

People like Origin CS because they'll bribe you with free stuff when they screw up.  Not saying that's an unreasonable basis for liking them but it is what it is~
