Indiana Deals Thread

Well, talking to the mangers at EB/GS they say they can't keep the Wii or DS Lite in stock, but the PS3s are barely moving out the door anymore. The one I went to had 2 PS3s that have been sitting there for a week now. We WILL see a major price drop on the PS3 when the blue-ray drives drop in price, since the blu-ray drive is 90% of the reason for the $600 price tag. I think blu-ray should drop in price around a year from now...possibly 2...that's about how long it took DVD players to drop to a reasonable price.

I hope I'm wrong about PS3 sales slowing by next month, but I doubt it. The system is overpriced and basically plays the exact same games the 360 does. I'd rather have a stand-alone blu-ray player than one built into my game console. I've never watched DVDs on my Xbox or PS2.

I have no interest in a 360, but I will pick up a PS3 when they are priced better. I waited years to get a PS2 (when the slim version came out). I can wait for a slimmed down PS3 with a better price tag.
The system is overpriced and basically plays the exact same games the 360 does.
Not really, in my case. Oh course they have many similar third party games, but I bought a 360 and PS3 for first party games, since I really like both their first party games (especially Sony's, similar to how people love Nintendo's first party games). Third parties will be bought for which ever console I feel like. ;)

Anyway, I might be checking Castleton, IN and some areas around Indy midweek, looking for stuff. I was last there 2 weeks ago.

I'll eventually get all three system, but it'll be a while before that happens. Right now I'm just waiting to see what systems some developers will lean towards. I'm wanting to see what system Atlus will support and if Square Enix will stay pretty much exclusive to the playstation.

I'm leaning towards a 360 or a PS3. I just really don't need either right now due a huge backlog I can thank CAG for. I have way too many RPGs I need to play.

i probally get all 3 but

I dont plan on getting

xbox 360 until it hits 199 or lower

ps3 until it hits 299 or lower or some major rpgs come out (late 2008

Wii until it hits 149 or lower or until some major rpgs come out (probally2009

for some reason, i misread the OP title as "indians deals thread" and i was expecting something like gambling pormotions on the reservation casinos, its not like they need it, those places rake in money hand over fist

I just got back from running some arrands. I saw at TRU that they had several Gunstar Super Heroes and FFIV Advance. Just though I'd mention incase anyone is looking for either.

The Target on Maplecrest still has 3 copies of Odama. Those should have been pulled like a month ago, but were saved by the plain white label with a marked price of $34.98. It doesn't come up in the system, but I've had a person use a hand scanner on it to get a price of $12.48.
Anyone been able to find a Wii in the Indy area recently?
Not a single system anywhere I go. I lucked out a few days after launch walking into a Target as I was buying shampoo. I have seen quite a few PS3s around town though.

Yeah, I don't go out shopping much, and even I've seen PS3's on shelves. I saw several at the Target on East Washington just a couple hours ago. No Wii's in sight, though.

Has anyone seen any of these at any of the local EB's around Fort Wayne? I'd prefer a GC one, but would take a PS2 version. I don't feel like traveling all over down if there are none out there.

Finally found a Wii today at the Crawfordsville Rd Indianapolis Gamestop. Apparently they had two when I was there. The employees looked ticked when I refused to buy the extended warranty or pre-order Wii Play (the store was 20 miles from home, otherwise I would have done it).

I also found a $50 bill on the ground, but gave it to the manager. He'll probably keep it, but it'll be on his conscience rather than mine.

I don't know if any of you are looking for Wii in Evansville, but the EB games in town have been getting about three units per week. I got one at launch, but my friend took the last one at the east side EB today. He also scored a retunred DS lite at Target today. What are the odds?

I picked up the TH Project 8 with Deck on clearence at the Southport Target (Southport/Emerson). It was $44.98 and they only had two ( one left) for PS2. I then just took the game and returned it with the receipt for the copy I had bought my brother-in-law for Xmas.

Are you going to be using the hangers for the board or are you gonna skate it? If not, I was wondering if I could get a hold of it.

I saw probably 2 dozen 60GB PS3s Friday around Columbus and not one Wii. I'm not looking for either at the moment, rather I want a cheap Guitar Hero bundle.

Any Carmel CAGs here? If you regularly visit the Carmel Target (151st, I think), would you mind updating every once in a while the Tony Hawk w/ Board sets there? I saw over 12 of them there marked at $45 right now and seeing if it goes any lower. Thanks.

Anyone locally have an AGP video card they want to sell or trade?
I'm looking for anything that will be equivalent or better than a 6600GT.

PM me if you do.

Sorry, the best I have is a 9800Pro and I'm using it. I've been hoping to see some kind of deal on a AGP card for under $150 and be better than what I have. I might just end up waiting for when I build my next computer.

I also found out that the EB on Maysville Rd has sent all their PSX/N64 stuff away.

I had a 9600xt before this, it probably performed similar to your 9800pro.
I moved up to a 6800xt which is the light version of the 6800 core. Now that I rebuilt my machine on dual cores, I'd like to get onto one of the high performance Geforce 6 series.

How much are you looking to spend on a video card? I personally dont have an extra one sitting around but if I knew how much you were willing to spend I could give some suggestions.

I mainly have games and such to trade right now, and a $50 bb gift card.
That's it. That's why I'm looking for a used one.

Figured there might be someone with a 6800 Ultra or Pro or a 6600GT who was upgrading to a 7X series, or moving to a PCI-e motherboard.

I read in the new PSM that PS3s are still very hard to find. I think they're just trying to keep the hype going because I see several of them everywhere I go. I think the gas stations around here may even have them
Speaking of the new PSM (March 2007), it's the worst issue I've ever seen. I guess they're slacking off now that OPM is gone. We got about a dozen (more) pages on Resistance after is was already discussed in the Jan. issue, a few pages about Metal Gear (which is way down the road and irrelevant), and a page about GTA. There are 10 pages of reviews with 6 of those dedicated to Rogue Galaxy. Most games got an 1/8 of the page afterthought mention. A 90 page magazine with 10 pages of reviews? That's trash.

I don't see them everywhere, but I do see them very often. Store like Blockbuster and K-Mart rarely have them, and they sell out at Meijer and Wal-Mart as fast as they come in stock. However, you can walk into just about any Target and find several in the case, probably because Target has a lot less foot traffic than Wal-Mart or Meijer.

One of my old managers at EB told me that 60GB PS3's were coming in every few shipments, usually 2 at a time, usually 2 - 4 a month.
He said they usually ended up sitting there for 2 days or so before they sold.

Circuit City store 3729 in Muncie, IN is officially CLOSED. Look for closeout sales to begin within the next three days. Indianapolis guys, it might be worth the trip to Muncie. From what I hear, they sell everything way below cost to get rid of it.

All the TV spots and newspaper articles say the closing stores will close on Monday and reopen on Wednesday. I wish I could get out there but too far and winter storm warning coming.

Southport Super Target in Indianapolis had 60GB PS3s in stock last night (Monday 2/12).

They also had some Wii accessories on an end cap and copies of Wii Play in the Wii game case.

Good thing my girlfriend works at TRU right next to Circuit City and she'll be opening tomorrow, so I'm defiantely going to go in.

I'm going to stay subscribed to PSM for life. I have every single issue (except one due to being late to re-subscribing).

Meijer on southport road had about 12 copys of Wii Play as well as wii remotes today. I picked up Wii Play for myself :D

There's always PS3's in stock in Fort Wayne. It's harder to find a premium 360 than a PS3 right now.

Is anyone still looking for a PS3? They seem to be collecting dust on the shelves around here. I even see used ones showing up at Gamecrazy now.

They're stacked up at the Castleton BB last I looked. And the ones in Targets seem to be the same ones that I saw a month or two ago.
