Indiana Deals Thread
now that was cool! i'll upload some pictures later tonight or tomorrow. Did anyone see me and my wife ¿? Chi and Hedeki ¿? only 10-15 cosplayers... oh well.
was that your wife?

I laughed when the presenter asked her name and she said "Chi.."

..followed by shame for being the only one who understood it. :(

She was real great dressed up as Chi, but I had to clap for the Mario... that was one person who didn't want to be up there. haha. All in all, it was fun, and it was nice to know that was the first VGL that had screwups.. two that I could count.

Yeap me as Hedeki in the yellow jacket and my Chi = P

she said she said chi instead of her name on purpose to stay more in character. I knew Mario would win. Glad the little guy won.

At least 3 problems I noticed. Sonic, fuzz during Civilization and the sound system went louder and quiter for the piano as well as at some of the med-higher piano notes made akaward sounds like sound system was not properly set up or piano not properly tuned.

Some pictures were taken. Gotta get a paper to see if we are in there.

what?! no medieval man?! nooooo!!!!... lol

You two look great though, I remember seeing you two after the show was over, You both were at the top area of the theatre I was near the middle of the loge area and was walking out when I saw you both.

I forgot about the problems during civilization... and I think medal of honor had its issues as well.. That dork who yelled out "Game Over" after the sequence was over made me want to find him and punch him in the face though.

I should mention though I was at the Gamestop at Jefferson point and they had a copy of Zone of the Enders 2 for about 24 bucks? it was less than 30 for sure.. in case someone was looking for it they might want to check it out.

I guess was one of the few guys who didn't go to that show. I would have liked to go, but I need to save some money. I also really don't like going down town and having to hunt for parking. I just don't like driving down there.

I was wondering if you other guys in Fort Wayne had noticed when the Targets in town do their markdowns on clearance games? I'm asking since I'm really tempted to pick up a copy of Blue Dragon. I'm wondering if Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning would be a good time to check.

Don't know if it's already been posted, but I picked up Folklore at Maplecrest Target last week for $23.98. There were several more on endcap.

The sound system glitched out first during Metal Gear. They blew a channel or something when the helicoper effects came in. It fuzzed out bad later, but then they had it fixed.

I don' think the bit where they restarted the Sonic medley was technial. I think the conductor forgot to cue the choir to come in with the "Sega".

I have yet to crack the shrinkwrap, but I am looking forward to playing it.

oh duh that would make complete sense

A request - if anyone goes to get a Soldier of Fortune for the 360 for $19.99 from the CC ad either at CC or via a PM at BB or somewhere, could you pick me up one also? I'd gladly pay shipping!

For the Fort Wayne guys I did a clearance run and thought I'd let you know how it went.

Maplecrest Target - Folklore was gone and everything else was at the same price.
Glenbrook Target - Most of the clearance games were gone, except for NGS, Folklore, and some other ps3 games in the case at $41. One of the Targets I did see Crackdown going on clearance for $41.98.
TRU - Nothing new. I'm waiting to see if the psp stuff will drop some more.
Sears - Nothing good there. What's left of the bargain bin is trash that they'd have to pay us to take. I wonder if the price has dropped on that guitar hero 2 for the ps2 they have out?
BB - They have a few xbox HD-DVD units for $50 despite the store indicator saying there were unavailable.

Sorry, I was referring to the PSP accessories. I'm kind of wanting to get a psp sometime and they have some psp cases and battery chargers I'm hoping will drop a little more. I just wish I could find a deal on one. I'd like to see if I could find a used one for $50 to $80.

Don't know if any of you guys are around Michigan City, but the walmart there had some pretty nice clearance items today.

Wii Remote w/case - $22.xx (about 5 left as of 3:00 pm)
2000 Wii Points holiday bundle - $6.50 (about 15 left)
Wii 3 pack remote gloves - $9.00 (tons of these)

Final Fantasy XII - $7.00 (tons of these too)

There were more, but I forgot to write them down!

You should hold a treasure hunt for the Indiana CAGs with those Wii Points prices. Bury a few of them in the sand dunes. Finder's keepers.

Oh one more thing.

One of my computer's died (xp2000+ yeah that old) haven't built one in years so have to get back into whats what, amd vs intel, this motherboard vs that one. Bleh. Plan on trying to get one I can pull over my 3 current Ide Hd's to till I can make the Sata switch. For now it will just be a general web computer but I also want to be able to drop a nice vid card in in when Starcraft II finally come out.

Was thinking stone computers as A+ computers is typically high priced and full of arrogance. Any thought or suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks.

Damn them Wal*Marts.

Here in Muncie they only dropped to $20 (the point card bundles).

Ive had experience with A+ years ago. They did a pretty good job, but I honestly don't know why they charge so much. Why not build your own? It's pretty easy and much cheaper. And if you are not sure on what to buy or how to install something, you can get a lot of help in the PC forum.

I would just build one on your own. If you've done it before, you can do it again. It just requires a little research, which is the more difficult part. I would search through the PC board here and head over to the forums over at Hardocp.com. I would definitely check out their deals board since it focuses on PC hardware deals.

i was mostly refering to stone for parts. I know you can get a little better price online but being able to return it locally if there is a prob is what I meant. Unless there was a MUCH better price online.

I can understand wanting the ease of just being able to take it to a local store, but I wouldn't rule out buying online. I would at least go to somewhere like newegg to spec out a possible computer. You can then take a list of those parts to Stone or A+ to compare prices and see if they even carry those parts. If you get a new case as well and want to buy it locally, I would check the A+. Last time I was there, I though they had a better selection of cases than Stone. The cases were from some of the better case companies.

I buy my parts from Newegg. If I need something local, I use A+.
If you're not comfortable building, I'll do it for a nominal fee or trade. You buy the parts...I build.
Techreport just published a new lineup of machines. The econobox is very similar to what I'm using now...same motherboard, but different video card and case.
http://www.techreport.com/articles.x/14225

I'd go with that motherboard, a low end Core 2 Duo CPU (instead of Pentium Dual Core)
Maybe go lower end on the video card. You should be able to get a Geforce8800 or 8600GTS for cheap right now since the 9600 just came out.

Do you already have a windows license you could transfer?

Most new motherboards only have 1 PATA drive connector though. You might need to pick up an PATA enclosure for your last drive and go SATA for your CDROM.

Sorry to break the string of computer talk, but do any of the Fort Wayne guys play Guitar Hero 2 for 360? I'm looking to bust out some multiplayer but none of my friends are willing.

Hi, I just found this thread, for you fort wayne guys. Have you found any deals at the south town K-Mart?

P.S. Does anyone here go to EDJE Video in Bluffton or SQ Video in Decatur?

Dude I realize that you may feel more comfortable buying local, but you save so much money buying online and Newegg has a fantastic customer service staff and return policy that you would be crazy not to buy from them. I have dealt with a few of the Fort Wayne computer stores and I know that they cannot beat the price and service of Newegg. Just do a little research before you buy and you can easily cut out the middle man and save so much. And if you have questions I am sure you can find the answers on this board if you just ask.

Sorry a little off topic, but did you play in the tournament at McVans last weekend?

Sorry to throw in my @ cents since i'm the new guy, but i would also recomend new egg, or Tiger direct, i usualy order from tiger, and get my stuff within 24/48 hours. They ship from Chicago. I find that IMHO 75% of people that work at local PC places are there because they used to lan with the owner.... I have been offered several jobs, but don't think I'd get along with half the workers.

I think I've been there. If that's the place I'm thinking of, I would hope people in the area support that guy's business.
Sorry a little off topic, but did you play in the tournament at McVans last weekend?
Nope, I didn't even know there was a tournament. I just got the game a week ago, so I probably wouldn't have entered anyway. I'm still not that good yet, but I am close to five starring every song on medium.
I think I've been there. If that's the place I'm thinking of, I would hope people in the area support that guy's business.
I Actualy prefer the Book Nook, and EDJE over SQ due to SQ not knowing much abou games, but they are extremely nice people, and go out off thier way to make customers happy.

I play Guitar Hero a little, but I don't have one on 360 (and I live near you too).

Speaking of Newegg, I'm about to purchase a new PS3 HDD from them (probably 250GB). It will be the first time I ordered from them.

Haven't seen many good deals last time I was in Fort Wayne. I'll be on Spring Break in just over a week, so I'll post deals as I see them.

I was at the BB at Jefferson Pointe/AppleGlen in FW about 4 days ago getting a replacement keyboard (I kinda dropped my drink on my old one and it died a terrible screeching noise-like death), and snagged a copy of Folklore there for 39.99.. but the sale ended back on 2/11 or something. I spoke to a sales rep and he said it was at that price 2 weeks ago at that price but they must have forgotten to taken it off. He gave the white plastic sheet with the price tag to me and and told me to give it to the cashier, and she gave me the price that it was listed as.

It's not the same price as the Target store, but I did have a coupon with me so it wasn't too bad I guess.

/QUOTE]

I wouldn't know. It's been months since I've been down there. A part of me is tempted to go down there to see if they or some other store down there might have a 60 gig PS3 by some slim chance.

I wonder if that K-Mart still has a 60GB PS3. I don't need one (I already got a PS3), but I remember the other K-Mart had one a week before Christmas (box was kind of damaged), but it's gone now. Only place I think that still has them is Sam's Club, but that's because the bundle is overpriced (with MotorStorm for $550).

a 60 gig with a game for $550? that's not too bad considering that they're hard to find, high in demand because of their BC, and that's cheaper than what I paid for when I got my 60. :( lol

In reality though, I still just recommend getting a 40GB and keeping a PS2 around for most, because most PS2 accessories just won't work on a PS3 and some games will look pretty bad on an HDTV regardless of upscaling (and some games have issues regardless of what SKU you get). But I dunno, I mostly just play PS3 games on my PS3 because after I got an HDTV, I could not go back, lol.

I paid $500 for mine, but I got a 20GB near launch. I kind of wish I had another SKU, but I will upgrade the HDD soon.

I will be preordering a game at the GS at Jefferson Pointe when I get back, since it will be out during Spring break.

Sam's club doesn't have any. I checked. They had display stuff out for the 60, but only had 40's.

if it was a keyboard for a pc . staples had a 80 bucks one on sale for 14.99 MSFT wireless 4000 model came with mouse and keyboard. I picked up a few too many at a price match will probally be returnin 1
What's EDJE?
EDJE is owned by the cofounder of both the Book nook, and SQ, IMHO they have the best prices/Service, There is one located across from ElCamio Reale in Bluffton, and By East of Chicago Pizza in Berne.

I checked the South Town K-Mart for clearance deals today, I found nothing, someone must have wiped it out.

I saw a wavebird for 9.99 at the Cash America Pawn on Colliseum. if anyone is interested.
